Path-integral Bosonization of $d=2$ PT symmetric models
Abstract: We discuss bosonization of non-Hermitian PT invariant fermion models in $d=2$ space-time dimensions within the path-integral approach in which the generating functionals associated to the fermion and boson models can be related. We first discuss the PT symmetric Thirring-sine-Gordon connection and then extend the treatment to bosonize the Gross-Neveu model.

Induced Chern-Simons term by dimensional reduction
Abstract: We derive an induced Abelian Chern-Simons (CS) term in 2+1 dimensions, by dimensional reduction from the finite-temperature theory of a Dirac field with both vector and axial-vector couplings to two Abelian gauge fields, in 3+1 dimensions. In our construction, the CS term emerges for the lowest Matsubara mode of the vector Abelian field, by integrating the fermionic field, under the assumption tha… ▽ More

Vortex solutions in the presence of Dark Portals
Abstract: The existence of hidden sectors weakly coupled to the visible one has been extensively studied as a way to extend the Standard Model (SM) and to provide a good dark matter candidate. In this work we analyze two models in which gauge and scalar hidden fields interact with the visible sector which, for simplicity we take as an Abelian Higgs model. Higher loop renormalization of a supersymmetric field theory
Abstract: Using Dyson--Schwinger equations within an approach developed by Broadhurst and Kreimer and the renormalization group, we show how high loop order of the renormalization group coefficients can be efficiently computed in a supersymmetric model.

Non-Abelian vortices in Chern-Simons theories and their induced effective theory
Abstract: Non-Abelian vortices for a supersymmetric {\cal N}=2 Chern-Simons-Higgs theory are explicitly constructed. We introduce N Higgs fields in the fundamental representation of the U(N) gauge group in order to have a color-flavor SU(N) group remaining unbroken in the asymmetric phase. Bogomol'nyi-like first order equations are found and rotationally symmetric solutions are proposed. These solutions a… ▽ More

Vortices
Abstract: I discuss in these lectures vortex-like classical solutions to the equations of motion of gauge theories with spontaneous symmetry breaking. Starting from the Nielsen-Olesen ansatz for the Abelian Higgs model, extensions to the case in which gauge dynamics is governed by Yang-Mills and Chern-Simons actions are presented. The case of semilocal vortices and also the coupling to axions is analyzed.… ▽ More

On 1+1 Dimensional Galilean Supersymmetry in Ultracold Quantum Gases
Abstract: We discuss a 1+1 dimensional Galilean invariant model recently introduced in connection with ultracold quantum gases. After showing its relation to a nonrelativistic 2+1 Chern-Simons matter system, we identify the generators of the supersymmetry and its relation with the existence of self-dual equations

Vortex solutions in the noncommutative torus
Abstract: Vortex configurations in the two-dimensional torus are considered in noncommutative space. We analyze the BPS equations of the Abelian Higgs model. Numerical solutions are constructed for the self-dual and anti-self dual cases by extending an algorithm originally developed for ordinary commutative space. We work within the Fock space approach to noncommutative theories and the Moyal-Weyl connect… ▽ More
