As a result of experimental studies of the single-crystal iron-chalcogenide compound FeTe0.65Se0.35, the effect of structural transitions caused by hydrogen sorption on the magnetic and current-carrying properties of a superconductor has been established. An increase in the volume-averaged effective pinning potential (and the associated critical current density) after the process of hydrogen sorption at temperatures up to 150 °C - 200 °C can be explained by the appearance of additional pinning centers due to the local action of implanted H ions on its crystal structure and electronic states. It was confirmed that hydrogenation is an efficient tool for increasing flux pining properties of superconductors.

Abstract:
The magnetic properties of thin-film multilayers [Fe/Py]/FeMn/Py are investigated as a function of temperature and thickness of the antiferromagnetic FeMn spacer using SQUID magnetometry. The observed behavior differs substantially for the structures with 6-nm and 15-nm FeMn spacers. While the 15-nm-FeMn structure exhibits exchange pinning of both ferromagnetic layers in the entire measurement temperature interval from 5 to 300 K, the 6-nm-FeMn structure becomes exchange de-pinned in the vicinity of room temperature. The de-pinned state is characterized by a single hysteresis loop centered around zero field and having enhanced magnetic coercivity. The observed properties are explained in terms of finite-size effects and possibly ferromagnetic interlayer coupling through the thin antiferromagnetic spacer.

Comprehensive studies of magnetic properties of GdCr3(BO3)4 single crystal have been carried out. The integrals of intrachain and interchain exchange interactions in the chromium subsystem have been determined and the strength of Cr-Gd exchange interaction has been estimated. The values of the exchange field and the effective magnetic anisotropy field of GdCr3(BO3)4 have been estimated. The electric polarization along the a axis in the longitudinal geometry of the experiment has been detected. Correlations between the electric polarization and the magnetization of the studied compound have been found. The spin-reorientation phase transition in the magnetically ordered state has been found. This transition exists for the external magnetic field applied along any crystallographic direction and the transition field depends weakly on the direction of the field. The nature of the spin-reorientation phase transition has been discussed. Magnetic phase diagram has been constructed and spin configurations for the low-field and high-field phases have been proposed.

The angular and temperature dependences of single crystal ESR spectra at X-band frequency of quasi 1D spin 1/2 antiferromagnetic zigzag chain system β-TeVO4 are reported. Two resonance components in the ESR spectrum have been detected: a weak narrow resonance on the top of the extremely broad signal. The narrow line might be due to an impurity, the characteristics of the broad absorption do not correlate with a picture of the typical behavior for the V4+ ions (S = 1/2) with a square pyramidal environment. It was found that at low temperatures the divergence of the spin susceptibility and linewidth of the observed excitations can be due to a realization of three dimensional magnetic ordering.

Low density flux dynamics in Nd based cuprate (NdBa2Cu3O7-x) HTSC single crystals trapped in 1 Oe range DC magnetic fields were investigated for the first time. Complex measurements of time, temperature and field dependence of magnetization were performed. Using the results obtained and the Anderson-Kim model the normalized magnetization relaxation rate S and the averaged effective pinning potential U were calculated. We show a significant (one or even two orders) increase in the effective pinning potential in these samples in comparison with measurements performed in high magnetic fields for similar cuprate single crystals formerly. In a wide enough range of temperatures close to Tc (0.72 < T/Tc < 0.93) it has been shown that the do** of NdBa2Cu3O7-x single crystals with calcium atoms leads to the increase of the averaged effective pinning potential with an insignificant decreasing of the critical temperature.
