Multiple spectral observations carried out for J122810.94+440540.6, J122811.70+440550.9, and J122809.72+440514.8 revealed the emission features in their spectra that are characteristic of LBVs. Photometry showed noticeable brightness changes of J122809.72+440514.8 ($ΔI=0.69\pm0.13^m$) and J122817.83+440630.8 ($ΔR=2.15\pm0.13^m$), while the variability of J122810.94+440540.6 and J122811.70+440550.9 does not exceed $0.3^m$ regardless of the filter. We have obtained estimates of the interstellar reddening, photosphere temperatures, and bolometric luminosities $\log(\text{L}_\text{Bol}/\text{L}_{\odot}) \approx 5.24-6.42$. Using the CMFGEN code, we have modelled the spectrum of the cold state of J122809.72+440514.8 ($T_{\text{eff}}=9300\,$K) and have obtained possible value of the mass loss rate $\dot{M} = 5.2\times10^{-3}\,M_{\odot}\,yr^{-1}$. Based on the observational properties, J122809.72+440514.8 and J122817.83+440630.8 were classified as LBVs, while the other two stars were classified as LBV candidates or B[e]-supergiants candidates

We continue the search for luminous blue variables (LBVs) in Local Volume galaxies in order to study their fundamental parameters. In this paper, we report the discovery of two new LBVs in the dwarf irregular galaxy NGC 1156. Both stars exhibit spectral variability simultaneously with strong brightness variations: $Δ\text{R}_c = 0.84 \pm 0.23^m$ for J025941.21+251412.2 and $Δ\text{R}_c = 2.59 \pm 0.10^m$ for J025941.54+251421.8. The bolometric luminosities of the stars are in the range of L$_\text{Bol} \approx (0.8 - 1.6) \times 10^6$ L$_\odot$. These values are corrected for reddening A$_\text{V} \approx 0.9$ and are given for the distance to the galaxy D=7.0$\pm$0.4 Mpc, which we have measured by the TRGB method. Both stars are above the Humphreys-Davidson limit in the region of relatively low temperatures, T$_\text{eff} \lesssim 10$ kK on the temperature-luminosity diagram. J025941.54+251421.8 had a temperature below the hydrogen ionisation threshold at maximum brightness, exhibiting behaviour very similar to that of the known LBV R71 during its 2012 outburst. We have estimated the masses of the detected LBVs and studied the properties of their stellar environment. We discuss our results within the framework of both a single star and a binary system evolution scenario for LBVs.

We present the results of 8 epochs of simultaneous UV and X-ray observations of the highly variable ultraluminous X-ray source (ULX) Holmberg II X-1 with AstroSat -- Indian multiwavelength space satellite. During the entire observation period from late 2016 to early 2020, Holmberg II X-1 showed a moderate X-ray luminosity of $8\times10^{39}$ erg/s and a hard power-law spectrum with $Γ\lesssim 1.9$. Due to low variability of the object in X-rays (by a factor 1.5) and insignificant variability in the UV range (upper limit $\approx25$%) we could not find reliable correlation between flux changes in these ranges. Inside each particular observation, the X-ray variability amplitude is higher, it reaches a factor of 2-3 respect to the mean level at the time scales of $\sim10$ ks or even shorter. We discussed our results in terms of three models of a heated donor star, a heated disk and a heated wind, and estimated the lower limit to the variability which would allow to reject at least part of them.

The candidate shows typical LBV features in its spectra: broad and strong hydrogen lines and the He I lines with P Cigni profiles. Its remarkable spectral resemblance to the well known LBV P Cygni suggests a common nature of the objects and supports LBV classification of J004341.84+411112.0. We estimate the temperature, reddening, radius and luminosity of the star using its spectral energy distribution. Obtained bolometric luminosity of the candidate ($M_{\text{bol}}=-10.41\pm0.12$ mag) is quite similar to those of known LBV stars in the Andromeda galaxy. We analysed ten year light curve of the object in $R$ filter. The candidate demonstrates photometric variations of the order of 0.4 mag, with an overall brightness increasing trend $ΔR > 0.1$ mag. Therewith, the corresponding colour variations of the object are fully consistent with LBV behavior when a star become cooler and brighter in the optical spectral range with a nearly constant bolometric luminosity. LBV-type variability of the object, similarity of its spectrum and estimated luminosity to those of known LBVs allows us to classify J004341.84+411112.0 as a LBV.

We present the optical and X-ray study of the ultraluminous X-ray source (ULX) NGC 5474 X-1. The X-ray spectrum taken during the bright state of the source ($L_X \sim 2\times10^{40}$ egs/s) shows signatures of a broad absorption line at $\simeq 8$ keV which may be a cyclotron resonant scattering feature. This implies that this system may host a neutron star with a magnetic field $\sim 10^{12}$ G. The first observation of this area with the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) carried out 14 months later revealed that the source was bright in the optical range as well. The subsequent observations have shown that the source faded in both ranges (more than $2.8^m$ in the U band and by a factor of 50-100 in X-rays) and has never become bright again. Deeper HST observations made it possible to impose constraints on the donor star spectral class and mass ($<\,7$ M$_\odot$), as well as to identify a stellar cluster of about 1 Gyr, the centre of which is located at a projected distance of $\simeq 2$ pc from NGC 5474 X-1. The ULX can be a member of this old cluster, however, the presence of stars with ages of $\sim10$ Myr within 300 pc around the ULX does not completely exclude the possibility that it is just an accidental projection.

We present preliminary results of photometric and spectral studies of some newly identified ULX optical counterparts. Based on the X-ray catalog of ULX candidates by Liu 2011 we have unequivocally identified in the optical range more than 100 sources, for 49 of them we carried out a long slit spectroscopy. According to these results, the majority of the most brightest candidates (m$_V < 22^m$) turned out to be background objects of different types, but the observed parameters of other sources of the sample allow us to classify them as real ULX. Here we present results for ten selected sources.

We have used spectra of MN112 obtained with the 3.5-m telescope at the Observatory of Calar Alto and 3.5-m ARC telescope at the Apache Point Observatory. P Cygni spectra were taken with the 6-m BTA telescope. We have found the best-fit of the observed spectrum with the model at temperature $T_{\text{eff}}= 15\,200$K, clum**-corrected mass-loss rate $\dot{M}f^{-0.5}=5.74 \times 10^{-5}\, M_{\odot}\text{yr}^{-1}$, filling-factor $f=0.1$, luminosity $L=5.77 \times 10^5\, L_{\odot}$ for MN112. The ratio of helium to hydrogen He/H is 0.37 (by the number of atoms) with nitrogen overabundance ($X_\text{N}/ X_{\odot} = 6.8$) and the underabundance of carbon ($X_\text{C}/ X_{\odot} < 0.1$).

Bolometric luminosities of the candidates are similar to those of known LBV stars in the Andromeda galaxy. One candidate, J004341.84+411112.0, demonstrates photometric variability (about 0.27 mag in V band), which allows us to classify it as a LBV. The star J004415.04+420156.2 shows characteristics typical for B[e]-supergiants. The star J004411.36+413257.2 is classified as FeII star. We confirm that the stars J004621.08+421308.2 and J004507.65+413740.8 are warm hypergiants. We for the first time obtain NIR spectrum of the Galactic LBV candidate MN112. We use both optical and NIR spectra of MN112 for comparison with similar stars in M31 and notice identical spectra and the same temperature in the J004341.84+411112.0. This allows us to confirm that MN112 is a LBV, which should show its brightness variability in longer time span observations.

Object j004703.27-204708.4 ($M_V=-9.08 \pm 0.15^m$) shows the spectral lines typical for well-studied LBV stars: broad and bright emission lines of hydrogen and helium He I with P Cyg profiles, emission lines of iron Fe II, silicon Si II, nitrogen N II and carbon C II, forbidden iron [Fe II] and nitrogen [N II] lines. The variability of the object is $ΔB = 0.74\pm0.09^m$ and $ΔV = 0.88\pm0.09^m$, which makes it reliable LBV candidate. The star j004702.18-204739.93 ($M_V=-9.66 \pm 0.23^m$) shows many emission lines of iron Fe II, forbidden iron lines [Fe II], bright hydrogen lines with broad wings, and also forbidden lines of oxygen [O I] and calcium [Ca II] formed in the circumstellar matter. The study of the light curve of this star also did not reveal significant variations in brightness ($ΔV = 0.29\pm0.09^m$). We obtained estimates of interstellar absorption, the photosphere temperature, as well as bolometric magnitudes $M_\text{bol}=-10.5^{+0.5}_{-0.4}$ and $M_\text{bol}=-10.8^{+0.5}_{-0.6}$, which corresponds to bolometric luminosities $\log(L_\text{bol}/L_{\odot})=6.11^{+0.20}_{-0.16}$ and $6.24^{+0.20}_{-0.25}$ for j004703.27-204708.4 and j004702.18-204739.93 respectively. Thus, the object j004703.27-204708.4 remains a reliable LBV candidate, while the object j004702.18-204739.93 can be classified as B[e]-supergiant.

We have found three new LBV candidates in the star-forming galaxy NGC 4736. They show typical well-known LBV spectra, broad and strong hydrogen lines, He I lines, many Fe II lines, and forbidden [Fe II] and [Fe III]. Using archival Hubble Space Telescope and ground-based telescope data, we have estimated the bolometric magnitudes of these objects from -8.4 to -11.5, temperatures, and reddening. Source NGC 4736_1 (Mv = -10.2 +/- 0.1 mag) demonstrated variability between 2005 and 2018 as Delta V = 1.1 mag and Delta B = 0.82 mag, the object belongs to LBV stars. NGC 4736_2 (Mv < -8.6 mag) shows P Cyg profiles and its spectrum has changed from 2015 to 2018. The brightness variability of NGC 4736_2 is Delta V = 0.5 mag and Delta B = 0.4 mag. In NGC 4736_3 (Mv = -8.2 +/- 0.2 mag), we found strong nebular lines, broad wings of hydrogen; the brightness variation is only 0.2 mag. Therefore, the last two objects may reside to LBV candidates.

The NIR spectra were taken with Triplespec spectrograph at the 3.5-m telescope at Apache Point Observatory, and the optical spectroscopy was done with SCORPIO focal reducer at the 6-m BTA telescope (SAO RAS). The candidates demonstrate typical LBV features in their spectra: broad and strong hydrogen lines, HeI, FeII, and [FeII] lines. All our candidates show photometric variability. We develop a new approach to the LBV parameters estimation based on the inherent property of LBVs to change their spectral type at constant bolometric luminosity. We compare the spectral energy distributions of the variable stars obtained in two or more different states and estimate temperatures, reddening, radii and luminosities of the stars using this method. Two considered candidates (J004526.62+415006.3 and J004051.59+403303.0) have to be classified as new LBV stars. Two more candidates are, apparently, B[e]-supergiants. The nature of one more star (J004350.50+414611.4) is not clear. It does not show obvious LBV-like variability and remains an LBV-candidate.

Densities of persistent orbital and spin magnetic moment currents of an electron in a cylindrical nanolayer in the presence of external axial magnetic field are considered. For the mentioned current densities analytical expressions are obtained. The conditions when in the system only spin magnetic moment current is present are defined. Dependencies of orbital and spin magnetic moment currents on geometrical parameters of nanolayer are derived. It is shown that in the case of layered geometry the dependence of spin magnetic moment current on radial coordinate has a non-monotonic behavior. This is the peculiarity of layered geometry of nanostructure and it is due to the behavior of wave function of the system along the radial direction. Dependent on the directions of the field and orbital rotation of the electron there are defined values of radial coordinates when the orbital current disappears. The transition to the case of cylindrical quantum dot is discussed as well.

'Forbidden' Bragg reflections of iron orthoborate Fe3BO6 were studied theoretically and experimentally in the vicinity of the iron K edge. Their energy spectra are explained as resulting from the interference of x-rays scattered from two inequivalent crystallographic sites occupied by iron ions. This particular structure property gives rise to complex azimuthal dependences of the reflection intensities in the pre-edge region as they result from the interplay of site specific dipole-quadrupole and quadrupole-quadrupole resonant scattering. Also evidenced is an isotropic character of the absorption spectrum. Self-absorption correction to the diffraction data, as well as possible contributions of thermal vibrations and magnetic order, are discussed. Particular care is given to extracting clean spectra from the data, and it is demonstrated that excellent results can be obtained even from measurements that appear corrupted by several effects such as poor crystal quality and multiple scattering.

We report observation of a narrow (sub-natural) and high-contrast resonance of increased absorption ("bright" resonance) in Rb cell with Ne buffer gas under previously unexplored experimental conditions for coupling and probe radiation configuration. The coupling laser stabilized frequency is detuned by ~ 3 GHz from 5S1/2, Fg=3 --> 5P3/2, Fe=2,3,4 transitions, while the probe laser frequency is scanned across these transitions. We believe the bright resonance formation, occurring when the probe laser frequency is blue-shifted from the coupling frequency by a value of the ground state hyperfine splitting, is caused predominantly by a 2-photon absorption of the probe radiation 5S1/2, Fg=2 --> 5S1/2, Fg=3 with 5P3/2 as an intermediate state. We also report and interpret splitting of the bright resonance into 6 well resolved and contrast components in moderate magnetic fields (B ~ 10 - 250 G).

A special vapour cell has been built, that allows the measurement of the atom-surface van der Waals interaction exerted by a CaF2 window at the interface with Cs vapour. Mechanical and thermal fragility of fluoride windows make common designs of vapour cells unpractical, so that we have developed an all-sapphire sealed cell with an internal CaF2 window. Although impurities were accidentally introduced when filling-up the prototype cell, leading to a line-broadening and shift, the selective reflection spectrum on the Cs D1 line (894 nm) makes apparent the weak van der Waals surface interaction. The uncertainties introduced by the effects of these impurities in the van der Waals measurement are nearly eliminated when comparing the selective reflection signal at the CaF2 interface of interest, and at a sapphire window of the same cell. The ratio of the interaction respectively exerted by a sapphire interface and a CaF2 interface is found to be 0.55 $\pm$ 0.25, in good agreement with the theoretical evaluation of ~0.67.

In this article it is shown that, Sommerfeld's coefficients for excitonic transitions in quantum wells are determined only with the principle quantum number within the framework of two-dimensional Coulomb potential. This is a consequence of hidden symmetry of two-dimensional Coulomb problem, conditioned by the existence of two-dimensional analog of the Runge-Lentz vector. For the narrow gap semiconductor quantum well with the non-parabolic dispersion law of electron and hole in the two-band Kane model it is shown that two-dimensional excitonic states are described in the frames of an analog of Klein-Gordon equation with the two-dimensional Coulomb potential. The non-stability of the ground state of the two-dimensional Kane's exciton is show.

We describe the implementation of a cylindrical T-shaped alkali-vapor cell for laser spectroscopy in the presence of a longitudinal electric field. The two windows are used as two electrodes of the high-voltage assembly, which is made possible by a metallic coating which entirely covers the inner and outer sides of the windows except for a central area to let the laser beams in and out of the cell. This allows very efficient application of the electric field, up to 2 kV/cm in a rather dense superheated vapor, even when significant photoemission takes place at the windows during pulsed laser irradiation. The body of the cell is made of sapphire or alumina ceramic to prevent large currents resulting from surface conduction observed in cesiated glass cells. The technique used to attach the monocrystalline sapphire windows to the cell body causes minimal stress birefringence in the windows. In addition, reflection losses at the windows can be made very small. The vapor cell operates with no buffer gas and has no magnetic part. The use of this kind of cell has resulted in an improvement of the signal-to-noise ratio in the measurement of Parity Violation in cesium vapor underway at ENS, Paris. The technique can be applied to other situations where a brazed assembly would give rise to unacceptably large birefringence in the windows.

The spherical wave functions of charge-dyon bounded system in a rectangular spherical quantum dot of infinitely and finite height are calculated. The transcendent equations, defining the energy spectra of the systems are obtained. The dependence of the energy levels from the wall sizes is found.
