The International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) serves to systematize phonemes in language, enabling precise textual representation of pronunciation. In Bengali phonology and phonetics, ongoing scholarly deliberations persist concerning the IPA standard and core Bengali phonemes. This work examines prior research, identifies current and potential issues, and suggests a framework for a Bengali IPA standard, facilitating linguistic analysis and NLP resource creation and downstream technology development. In this work, we present a comprehensive study of Bengali IPA transcription and introduce a novel IPA transcription framework incorporating a novel dataset with DL-based benchmarks.

Data discretization is an important step in the process of machine learning, since it is easier for classifiers to deal with discrete attributes rather than continuous attributes. Over the years, several methods of performing discretization such as Boolean Reasoning, Equal Frequency Binning, Entropy have been proposed, explored, and implemented. In this article, a simple supervised discretization approach is introduced. The prime goal of MIL is to maximize classification accuracy of classifier, minimizing loss of information while discretization of continuous attributes. The performance of the suggested approach is compared with the supervised discretization algorithm Minimum Information Loss (MIL), using the state-of-the-art rule inductive algorithms- J48 (Java implementation of C4.5 classifier). The presented approach is, indeed, the modified version of MIL. The empirical results show that the modified approach performs better in several cases in comparison to the original MIL algorithm and Minimum Description Length Principle (MDLP) .

A new approach utilising the concept of ionic charge theory has been used to explain the inherent properties such as lattice thermal conductivity and bulk modulus of 3,5 and 2,6 semiconductors. The lattice thermal conductivity of these semiconductors exhibit a linear relationship when plotted on a log scale against the nearest neighbour distance but fall on two straight lines according to the product of the ionic charge of the compounds. On the basis of this result a simple relationship of lattice thermal conductivity with bulk modulus is proposed and used to estimate the bulk modulus of these semiconductors. A fairly good agreement has been found between the experimantal and calculated values of these parameters for zinc blende structured solids.

Abstract:
In this letter we present an expression relating the cohesive energy for the A3B5 and A2B6 semiconductors with the product of their ionic charges and nearest neighbor distance. The cohesive energy values of these solids exhibits a linear relationship when plotted on a log-log scale against the nearest neighbor distance, but fall on different straight lines according to the ionic charge product o…
