We study a phononic crystal interacting with an artificial atom { a superconducting quantum system { in the quantum regime. The phononic crystal is made of a long lattice of narrow metallic stripes on a quatz surface. The artificial atom in turn interacts with a transmission line therefore two degrees of freedom of different nature, acoustic and electromagnetic, are coupled with a single quantum object. A scattering spectrum of propagating electromagnetic waves on the artificial atom visualizes acoustic modes of the phononic crystal. We simulate the system and found quasinormal modes of our phononic crystal and their properties. The calculations are consistent with the experimentally found modes, which are fitted to the dispersion branches of the phononic crystal near the first Brillouin zone edge. Our geometry allows to realize effects of quantum acoustics on a simple and compact phononic crystal.

Abstract:
Two spherical bubbles with changing radii are considered to be moving in ideal fluid along their center-line. The exact expression for the fluid kinetic energy is obtained. The Stokes stream function is expanded in Gegenbauer polynomials in bispherical coordinates. This expansion is used to obtain the exact series for the fluid kinetic energy quadratic form coefficients. The new series are confirm…

The new series are confirmed to be correct by comparison with the known ones. The main advantage of the new kinetic energy form is the possibility to obtain asymptotic expansions at small separation distance between the bubbles. These expansions are obtained and their convergence is analyzed. The results of this work can be used to describe the bubbles approach before the contact and their coalescence in acoustic field.

Abstract:
We report comprehensive (magneto)transport studies of the two-phase state in (TMTSF)2ClO4, where superconducting (SC) phase coexists with spin-density wave insulator (SDW). By tuning the degree of ClO4 anion ordering in controlled manner we drive SDW state and study the evolution of the SC spatial texture. We find that as SDW is suppressed, SC regions initially appear inside the SDW insulator in a…

We find that as SDW is suppressed, SC regions initially appear inside the SDW insulator in a form of filaments extended in the interlayer direction and further merge into the two-dimensional sheets across the most conducting axis of the crystal. We demonstrate that almost all our results can be explained within the soliton phase model, though with several assumptions they can also be interpreted by the creation of non-uniform deformations. We believe that the anisotropy is intrinsic to SC/SDW coexistence in quasi one-dimensional superconductors.

Using various transport and magnetotransport probes we study the coexistence of spin-density wave and superconductor states in (TMTSF)2ClO4 at various degrees of ClO4 anions ordering. In the two-phase complex state when both superconductivity and spin-density wave are observed in transport, we find prehistory effects, enhancement of the superconducting critical field, and strong spatial anisotropy of the superconducting state. These features are inconsistent with the conventional model of structural inhomogeneities produced by anion ordering transition. We reveal instead that superconductor and spin-density wave regions overlap on the temperature -- dimerization gap V phase diagram, where V is varied by anion ordering. The effect of anion ordering on (TMTSF)2ClO4 properties is thus analogous to that of pressure on (TMTSF)2X (X=PF6 or AsF6), thereby unifying general picture of the coexistence of superconductivity and spin-density wave in these compounds.
