Using the isothermal molecular dynamics (MD), coalescence/sintering of Au nanoparticles (NPs) was simulated by employing the Nose-Hoover thermostat. The MD simulation was realized by using the well-known open program LAMMPS, its version for parallel calculations on GPUs. We have found that the solid NP sintering scenario is switched to the coalescence scenario not at the NP melting temperature Tm exactly but at a lower temperature T0=0.9Tm interpreted as the critical temperature corresponding to a coalescence/sintering bifurcation phenomenon: in the temperature range from T0-2K to T0+2K the resulting (daughter) NPs of the same size can have either liquid-like or crystalline structure after coalescence/sintering at the same fixed temperature. The crystallize and liquid states were identify by analyzing the degree of crystallinity and the radial distribution function. For this purpose we employed the OVITO program.

The WWR-M reactor of PNPI offers a unique opportunity to prepare a source for ultracold neutrons (UCN) in an environment of high neutron flux (about 3*10^12 n/cm^2/s) at still acceptable radiation heat release (about 4*10^-3 W/g). It can be realized within the reactor thermal column situated close to the reactor core. With its large diameter of 1 m, this channel allows to install a 15 cm thick bismuth shielding, a graphite premoderator (300 dm^3 at 20 K), and a superfluid helium converter (35 dm^3). At a temperature of 1.2 K it is possible to remove the heat release power of about 20 W. Using the 4pi flux of cold neutrons within the reactor column can bring more than a factor 100 of cold neutron flux incident on the superfluid helium with respect to the present cold neutron beam conditions at the ILL reactor. The storage lifetime for UCN in superfluid He at 1.2 K is about 30 s, which is sufficient when feeding experiments requiring a similar filling time. The calculated density of UCN with energy between 50 neV and 250 neV in an experimental volume of 40 liters is about 10^4 n/cm^3. Technical solutions for realization of the project are discussed.

The momentum distribution of Lambda^0 hyperons produced from the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions is calculated in dependence on their polarization. The momentum distribution of Lambda^0 hyperons is defined by matrix elements of relativistic quark Wigner operators, which are calculated within the Effective quark model with chiral U(3)xU(3) symmetry and the Quark-Gluon transport theory. We show that the polarization of the Lambda^0 hyperon depends of the spin of the strange quark that agrees well with the DeGrand-Miettinen model. We show that Lambda^0 hyperons, produced from the QGP, are fully unpolarized. This means that a detection of unpolarized Lambda^0 hyperons, produced in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions, should serve as one of the signatures for the existence of the QGP in intermediate states of ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions.

We follow Quark-gluon transport theory and analyse singularities of the ultra-relativistic and spherical expanding quark-gluon plasma. Within the linearized QCD oscillations and instabilities of the ultra-relativistic and spherical symmetric expanding quark-gluon plasma near global thermodynamical equilibrium are investigated in dependence on a chemical potential mu(T) of non-strange light quarks and antiquarks, a strange quark mass m_s, a temperature T and a hydrodynamical velocity $u$. We calculate the chromoelectric permeability tensor for the quark-gluon plasma at rest and ultra-relativistic moving. We show that the contribution of chemical potential of light quarks and antiquarks can be neglected to the chromoelectric permeability. We show that the account for the non-zero mass of strange quarks and antiquarks diminishes the value of the plasma frequency. We show that the plasma frequency of the ultra-relativistic and spherical symmetric expanding quark-gluon plasma is enhanced by a Lorentz factor compared with the plasma frequency of the quark-gluon plasma at rest. We find that the ultra-relativistic and spherical symmetric expanding quark-gluon plasma behaves like a collisionless thermalized plasma.

The hadronization of the thermalized QGP phase is given in a way resembling a coalescence model with correlated quarks and anti-quarks. The input parameters of the approach are the spatial volumes of the hadronization. We introduce three dimensionless parameters C_M, C_B and C_\bar{B} related to the spatial volumes of the production of low-lying mesons (M), baryons (B) and antibaryons (\bar{B}). We show that at the temperature T= 175 MeV our predictions for the ratios of multiplicities agree good with the presently available set of hadron ratios measured for various experiments given by NA44, NA49, NA50 and WA97 Collaborations on Pb+Pb collisions at 158 GeV/nucleon, NA35 Collaboration on S+S collisions and NA38 Collaboration on O+U and S+U collisions at 200 GeV/nucleon.

An abundance of the strangeness that can be induced in a thermalized quark-gluon plasma (QGP) is considered as a signal of the QGP phase appearing in the intermediate state of ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions. An abundance of the strangeness that can be induced in a thermalized quark-gluon plasma (QGP) is considered as a signal of the QGP phase appearing in the intermediate state of ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions. As a quantitative characteristic of this signal we take the ratio R_{K^+ K^-} = N_{K^+}/N_{K^-} of the multiplicities of the production of K^+_- mesons. This ratio is evaluated for a thermalized QGP phase of QCD and for the quark-gluon system escaped from the QGP phase. For a thermalized QGP phase the ratio R_{K^+ K^-} has been found as a smooth function of a 3-momentum of the K^+_- mesons and a temperature ranging the values from the region 160 MeV < T <200 MeV. We show that at the temperature T= 175 MeV our prediction for the ratio R_{K^+K^-}(q,T = 175) = 1.80^{+ 0.04}_{-0.18} agrees good with the experimental data of NA49 and NA44 Collaborations on central ultra-relativistic Pb-Pb collisions at 158 GeV per nucleon: R^{\exp}_{K^+K^-} = 1.80\pm 0.10. For the ratio of the K^+ and π^+ multiplicities we have obtained the value R_{K^+π^+}(q,T = 175) = 0.134\pm 0.014 agreeing good with the experimental data of NA35 Collaboration on the nucleus-nucleus collisions at 200 GeV per nucleon R^{\exp}_{K^+π^+} = 0.137\pm 0.008.
