Breast cancer poses a profound threat to lives globally, claiming numerous lives each year. Therefore, timely detection is crucial for early intervention and improved chances of survival. Accurately diagnosing and classifying breast tumors using ultrasound images is a persistent challenge in medicine, demanding cutting-edge solutions for improved treatment strategies. This research introduces multiattention-enhanced deep learning (DL) frameworks designed for the classification and segmentation of breast cancer tumors from ultrasound images. A spatial channel attention mechanism is proposed for segmenting tumors from ultrasound images, utilizing a novel LinkNet DL framework with an InceptionResNet backbone. Following this, the paper proposes a deep convolutional neural network with an integrated multi-attention framework (DCNNIMAF) to classify the segmented tumor as benign, malignant, or normal. From experimental results, it is observed that the segmentation model has recorded an accuracy of 98.1%, with a minimal loss of 0.6%. It has also achieved high Intersection over Union (IoU) and Dice Coefficient scores of 96.9% and 97.2%, respectively. Similarly, the classification model has attained an accuracy of 99.2%, with a low loss of 0.31%. Furthermore, the classification framework has achieved outstanding F1-Score, precision, and recall values of 99.1%, 99.3%, and 99.1%, respectively. By offering a robust framework for early detection and accurate classification of breast cancer, this proposed work significantly advances the field of medical image analysis, potentially improving diagnostic precision and patient outcomes.

We performed the optical spectroscopy of 16 classical Be stars in 11 open clusters older than 100 Myr. Ours is the first spectroscopic study of classical Be stars in open clusters older than 100 Myr. We found that the H alpha emission strength of most of the stars is less than 40 Angstrom, in agreement with previous studies. Our analysis further suggests that one of the stars, KW97 35 12, might be a weak H alpha emitter in nature, showing H alpha equivalent width of negative 0.5 Angstrom. Interestingly, we also found that the newly detected classical Be star LS III 47 37b might be a component of the possible visual binary system LS III 47 37, where the other companion is also a classical Be star. Hence, the present study indicates the possible detection of a binary Be system. Moreover, it is observed that all 16 stars exhibit a lesser number of emission lines compared to classical Be stars younger than 100 Myr. Furthermore, the spectral type distribution analysis of B type and classical Be stars for the selected clusters points out that the existence of CBe stars can depend on the spectral type distribution of B type stars present in these clusters.

It is an internally occulted coronagraph with four channels to image the Sun at 5000 Å~ in the field of view 1.05 - 3 \rsun, and to pursue spectroscopy at 5303 Å, 7892 Å~ and 10747 Å~ channels in the FOV (1.05 - 1.5 \rsun). In addition, spectropolarimetry is planned at 10747 Å~ channel. Therefore, VELC has three sCMOS detectors and one InGaAs detector. In this article, we aim to describe the technical details and specifications of the detectors achieved by way of thermo-vacuum calibration at the CREST campus of the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore, India. Furthermore, we report the estimated conversion gain, full-well capacity, and readout noise at different temperatures. Based on the numbers, it is thus concluded that it is essential to operate the sCMOS detectors and InGaAs detectors at $-5^{\circ}$ and $-17^{\circ}$ C, respectively, at the spacecraft level.

Background: Health datasets from clinical sources do not reflect the breadth and diversity of disease in the real world, impacting research, medical education, and artificial intelligence (AI) tool development. Dermatology is a suitable area to develop and test a new and scalable method to create representative health datasets.
Methods: We used Google Search advertisements to invite contributions to an open access dataset of images of dermatology conditions, demographic and symptom information. With informed contributor consent, we describe and release this dataset containing 10,408 images from 5,033 contributions from internet users in the United States over 8 months starting March 2023. The dataset includes dermatologist condition labels as well as estimated Fitzpatrick Skin Type (eFST) and Monk Skin Tone (eMST) labels for the images.
Results: We received a median of 22 submissions/day (IQR 14-30). Female (66.72%) and younger (52% < age 40) contributors had a higher representation in the dataset compared to the US population, and 32.6% of contributors reported a non-White racial or ethnic identity. Over 97.5% of contributions were genuine images of skin conditions. Dermatologist confidence in assigning a differential diagnosis increased with the number of available variables, and showed a weaker correlation with image sharpness (Spearman's P values <0.001 and 0.01 respectively). Most contributions were short-duration (54% with onset < 7 days ago ) and 89% were allergic, infectious, or inflammatory conditions. eFST and eMST distributions reflected the geographical origin of the dataset. The dataset is available at github.com/google-research-datasets/scin .
Conclusion: Search ads are effective at crowdsourcing images of health conditions. The SCIN dataset bridges important gaps in the availability of representative images of common skin conditions.

Learning augmented is a machine learning concept built to improve the performance of a method or model, such as enhancing its ability to predict and generalize data or features, or testing the reliability of the method by introducing noise and other factors. On the other hand, clustering is a fundamental aspect of data analysis and has long been used to understand the structure of large datasets. Despite its long history, the k-means algorithm still faces challenges. One approach, as suggested by Ergun et al,is to use a predictor to minimize the sum of squared distances between each data point and a specified centroid. However, it is known that the computational cost of this algorithm increases with the value of k, and it often gets stuck in local minima. In response to these challenges, we propose a solution to reduce the dimensionality of the dataset using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). It is worth noting that when using k values of 10 and 25, the proposed algorithm yields lower cost results compared to running it without PCA. "Principal component analysis (PCA) is the problem of fitting a low-dimensional affine subspace to a set of data points in a high-dimensional space. PCA is well-established in the literature and has become one of the most useful tools for data modeling, compression, and visualization."

We present a follow-up study on the recent detection of two X-ray flaring events by MAXI/GSC observations in soft and hard X-rays from MAXI J0709-159 in the direction of HD 54786 (LY CMa), on 2022 January 25. The X-ray luminosity during the flare was around 10^(37) erg/s (MAXI), which got reduced to 10^(32) erg/s (NuSTAR) after the flare. We took low-resolution spectra of HD 54786 from HCT and VBT facilities in India, on 2022 February 1 and 2. In addition to H-alpha emission, we found emission lines of He I in the optical spectrum of this star. By comparing our spectrum of the object with those from literature we found that He I lines show variability. Using photometric study we estimate that the star is having effective temperature of 20000 K. Although HD 54786 is reported as a supergiant in previous studies, our analysis favours it to be evolving off the main sequence in the Color-Magnitude Diagram. We could not detect any infrared excess, ruling out the possibility of IR emission from a dusty circumstellar disc. Our present study suggests that HD 54786 is a Be/X-ray binary system with a compact object companion, possibly a neutron star.

Neonatal seizures are a commonly encountered neurological condition. They are the first clinical signs of a serious neurological disorder. Thus, rapid recognition and treatment are necessary to prevent serious fatalities. The use of electroencephalography (EEG) in the field of neurology allows precise diagnosis of several medical conditions. However, interpreting EEG signals needs the attention of highly specialized staff since the infant brain is developmentally immature during the neonatal period. Detecting seizures on time could potentially prevent the negative effects on the neurocognitive development of the infants. In recent years, neonatal seizure detection using machine learning algorithms have been gaining traction. Since there is a need for the classification of bio-signals to be computationally inexpensive in the case of seizure detection, this research presents a machine learning (ML) based architecture that operates with comparable predictive performance as previous models but with minimum level configuration. The proposed classifier was trained and tested on a public dataset of NICU seizures recorded at the Helsinki University Hospital. Our architecture achieved a best sensitivity of 87%, which is 6% more than that of the standard ML model chosen in this study. The model size of the ML classifier is optimized to just 4.84 KB with minimum prediction time of 182.61 milliseconds, thus enabling it to be deployed on wearable ultra-edge devices for quick and accurate response and obviating the need for cloud-based and other such exhaustive computational methods.

This paper deals with the investigation of flow field due to clap and fling mechanism using immersed boundary coupled with lattice Boltzmann method. The lattice Boltzmann method (LBM), an alternative to Navier Stokes solver, is used because of its simplicity and computational efficiency in solving complex moving boundary problems. Benchmark problems are simulated to validate the code, which is then used for simulating flow over two elliptic wing of aspect ratio 5 performing clap and fling flap** motion for different flow parameters such as Reynolds number (Re = 75,100,150), advance ratio (J = 10E-3,10E-2,2) and frequency (f = 0.05Hz,0.25Hz). Numerical simulation is able to capture typical low Reynolds number unsteady phenomena such as, 'wake vortex wing interaction', 'Kramer effect' and 'delayed stall'. The results are both qualitatively and quantitatively consistent with experimental observation. The parametric study involving different combinations of Re, f and J depict distinctly different aerodynamic performances providing physical insights into the flow physics. It is observed that a combination of low f, low J and high Re flow results in better aerodynamic performance. Pronounced lift enhancement via leading edge vortices are obtained in unsteady regime (J<1) compared to quasi-steady regime (J>1). The role of leading edge vortices in enhancing lift are investigated by studying the size and strength of these vortices for different flow conditions. For a given Re, the magnitude of maximum lift coefficient decreases with increasing f irrespective of the value of J; while the same is enhanced with the increasing Re.

We present a combination of thermodynamic and dynamic experimental signatures of a disorder driven dynamic cooperative paramagnet in a 50% site diluted triangular lattice spin-1/2 system, Y$_2$CuTiO$_6$. Magnetic ordering and spin freezing are absent down to 50 mK, far below the Curie Weiss scale of ~-134 K. We observe scaling collapses of the magnetic field- and temperature-dependent magnetic heat capacity and magnetisation data, respectively, in conformity with expectations from the random singlet physics. Our experiments establish the suppression of any freezing scale, if at all present, by more than three orders of magnitude, opening a plethora of interesting possibilities such as disorder-stabilized long range quantum entangled ground states.

In this paper, the proposed system has demonstrated three ways of detecting alcohol level in the body of the car driver and prevent car driver from driving the vehicle by turning off the ignition system. It also sends messages to concerned people. In order to detect breath alcohol level MQ-3 sensor is included in this module along with a heartbeat sensor which can detect the heart beat rate of driver, facial recognition using webcam & MATLAB and a Wi-Fi module to send a message through the TCP/IP App, a Raspberry pi module to turn off the ignition and an alarm as prevention module. If a driver alcohol intake is more than the prescribed range, set by government the ignition will be made off provided either his heart beat abnormal or the driver is drowsy. In both the cases there will be a message sent to the App and from the App you can send it to family, friend, and well-wisher or nearest cop for the help. The system is developed considering the fact if driver is drunk and he needs a help, his friend can drive the car if he is not drunk. The safety of both the driver and the surroundings are aimed by this system and this aids in minimizing death cases by drunken driving and also burden on the cops.

We have investigated the role of a few prominent excitation mechanisms viz. collisional excitation, recombination, continuum fluorescence and Lyman beta fluorescence on the OI line spectra in Herbig Ae/Be stars. The aim is to understand which of them is the central mechanism that explains the observed OI line strengths. The study is based on an analysis of the observed optical spectra of 62 Herbig Ae/Be stars and near-infrared spectra of 17 Herbig Ae/Be stars. The strong correlation observed between the line fluxes of OI $λ$8446 and OI $λ$11287, as well as a high positive correlation between the line strengths of OI $λ$8446 and H$α$ suggest that Lyman beta fluorescence is the dominant excitation mechanism for the formation of OI emission lines in Herbig Ae/Be stars. Further, from an analysis of the emission line fluxes of OI $λλ$7774, 8446, and comparing the line ratios with those predicted by theoretical models, we assessed the contribution of collisional excitation in the formation of OI emission lines.

Cloud Computing is the latest blooming technology in the era of Computer Science and Information Technology domain. There is an enormous pool of data centres, which are termed as Clouds where the services and associated data are being deployed and users need a constant Internet connection to access them. One of the highlights in Cloud is the delivering of applications or services in an on-demand environment. One of the most promising areas in Cloud scheduling is Scheduling of workflows which is intended to match the request of the user to the appropriate resources. There are several algorithms to automate the workflows in a way to satisfy the Quality of service (QoS) of the user among which deadline is considered as a major criterion, i.e. Satisfying the needs of the user with minimized cost and within the minimum stipulated time. This paper surveys various workflow scheduling algorithms that have a deadline as its criterion.
