The main purpose of this work is to find the causes of the break of the cosmic ray spectrum at an energy of 3 PeV, which is called the knee. The solution of the problem is associated with the determination of the nuclear composition of cosmic rays in the knee area. The conclusions of this work are based on the analysis of the characteristics of the EAS cores obtained using X-ray emulsion chambers. According to these data, a number of anomalous effects are observed in the knee region, such as scaling violation in the spectra of secondary hadrons, an excess of muons in EAS with gamma families and others. At the same energies equivalent to 1-100 PeV the laboratory system colliders show scaling behavior. So analysis of the data on the EAS cores suggests that the knee in their spectrum is formed by a component of cosmic rays of a non-nuclear nature, possibly consisting of stable (quasi-stable) particles of hypothetical strange quark matter, which named strangelets. This is the only model of the knee compatible with the magnetic rigidity of the nuclear spectra break R=100 TV. In fact, stranglets are stable heavy quasi-nuclei with a positive electric charge of Z=30-1000, so the mechanism of their acceleration coincides with the nuclear one. The break of the cosmic ray spectrum can be associated with a significantly larger mass of strangelets compared to nuclei.

We present a description of the new complex installation for the study of extensive air showers which was created at the Tien Shan mountain cosmic ray station, as well as the results of the test measurements made there in 2014-2016. At present, the system for registration of electromagnetic shower component consists of $\sim$100 detector points built on the basis of plastic scintillator plates with the sensitive area of 0.25m$^2$ and 1m$^2$, spread equidistantly over $\sim$10$^4$m$^2$ space. The dynamic range of scintillation amplitude measurements is currently about $(3-7)\cdot 10^4$, and there is a prospect of it being extended up to $\sim$10$^6$. The direction of shower arrival is defined by signal delays from a number of the scintillators placed cross-wise at the periphery of the detector system. For the investigation of nuclear active shower components there was created a multi-tier 55m$^2$ ionization-neutron calorimeter with a sum absorber thickness of $\sim$1000g/cm$^2$, typical spatial resolution of the order of 10cm, and dynamic range of ionization measurement channel about $\sim$10$^5$. Also, the use of saturation-free neutron detectors is anticipated for registration of the high- and low-energy hadron components in the region of shower core. A complex of underground detectors is designed for the study of muonic and penetrative nuclear-active components of the shower.
The full stack of data acquisition, detector calibration, and shower parameters restoration procedures are now completed, and the newly obtained shower size spectrum and lateral distribution of shower particles occur in agreement with conventional data. Future studies in the field of $10^{14}-10^{17}$eV cosmic ray physics to be held at the new shower installation are discussed.

The results of the experiments on recording hard gamma radiation and measurements of its angular distribution at the initial stage of a laboratory high-voltage atmospheric discharge are presented. The experiments were performed on an ERG installation at a voltage of $\sim 1$ MV, an atmospheric discharge current of up to 12 kA, and a gap of 0.55 m. The duration of the voltage pulse was about 1~$μ$s with a pulse rise time of 150-200 ns. The radiation was recorded by an assembly of 10 identical scintillation detectors installed each 10$^\circ$ around the circumference of a quarter of a circle with a curvature of 1 m. In order to separate the radiation with energies from 20 keV to 1.5 MeV, Al and Pb filters of different thicknesses were used. The obtained results show that, as a rule, a multi-beam radiation pattern and several bursts of radiation (each with a directional pattern) are recorded in each shot. In a considerable number of "shots", hard radiation with photon energies comparable to or exceeding the maximum electron energy corresponding to the applied voltage is recorded. In these cases, a needle-like radiation pattern is observed, including at large angles to the axis of the discharge. This may indicate the acceleration of electrons in different plasma channels.

It consists of eight charged particle detection points separated by the distance up to one kilometer as well as optical detector subsystem to view the Vavilov-Cerenkov light from the EAS. The time resolution of charged particles and Vavilov-Cerenkov light photons passage of the detector system is a few ns. This level of resolution allows conducting research of atmospheric development of individual EAS.

The new results concerning neutron emission detection from a laboratory high-voltage discharge in the air are presented. Data were obtained with a combination of plastic scintillation detectors and $^3$He filled counters of thermal neutrons. Strong dependence of the hard x-ray and neutron radiation appearance on the field strength near electrodes, which is determined by their form, was found. We have revealed a more sophisticated temporal structure of the neutron bursts observed during of electric discharge. This may indicate different mechanisms for generating penetrating radiation at the time formation and development of the atmospheric discharge.

In this paper, after reviewing some of the most important concepts about Dark Matter (DM) and methods of its registration, in particular by using SQUIDs, we focus on two main problems. First, the possible mechanism of magnetic moment origin for DM particles, in the form of neutralino, is discussed: the presence of a magnetic moment means the existence of a new kind of interaction, whose corresponding cross section is estimated. Second, a simple uniform model for DM and Dark Energy (DE) is proposed. Two types of devices based on SQUID, in particular the SQUID-paramagnetic absorber and the SQUID-magnetostrictor systems, both suitable for investigations of above problems, are considered.

Such a signal would be a consequence of Lorentz and CPT violation as described by the Standard-Model Extension framework. It also would be the first detection of a perturbative effect to conventional neutrino mass oscillations. We found no evidence for this sidereal signature and the upper limits placed on the magnitudes of the Lorentz and CPT violating coefficients describing the theory are an improvement by factors of $20-510$ over the current best limits found using the MINOS near detector.
