Non-resonant and electroweak NNLO correction to the $e^+ e^-$ top anti-top threshold
Abstract: We determine the NNLO electroweak correction to the $e^+ e^-\to b\bar{b}W^+W^- X$ production cross section near the top-pair production threshold. The calculation includes non-resonant production of the final state as well as electroweak effects in resonant top anti-top pair production with non-relativistic resummation, and elevates the theoretical prediction to NNNLO QCD plus NNLO electroweak acc… ▽ More

Electroweak and non-resonant corrections to top-pair production near threshold at NNLO
Abstract: The top-quark mass can be determined with very high precision from a scan of the total $e^+e^-\to b\bar{b}W^+W^-X$ cross section near the top-pair production threshold. We present the full calculation of electroweak and non-resonant corrections to this process at NNLO. We discuss the size of the new contributions and estimate the theory uncertainty on the top-quark mass in the PS mass scheme.

Integrating out heavy particles with functional methods: a simplified framework
Abstract: We present a systematic procedure to obtain the one-loop low-energy effective Lagrangian resulting from integrating out the heavy fields of a given ultraviolet theory. One-loop corrections to the Higgs electroweak chiral Lagrangian
Abstract: In this talk we study beyond Standard Model scenarios where the Higgs is non-linearly realized. The one-loop ultraviolet divergences of the low-energy effective theory at next-to-leading order, O(p^4), are computed by means of the background-field method and the heat-kernel expansion. The power counting in non-linear theories shows that these divergences are determined by the leading-order effecti… ▽ More

Abstract: A method to find relations between the operators in the mesonic Lagrangian of Chiral Perturbation Theory at order p^6 is presented. The procedure can be used to establish if the basis of operators in the Lagrangian is minimal. The Orthopositronium Decay Spectrum using NRQED
Abstract: The photon spectrum in orthopositronium to 3 gamma decay is computed using effective field theory methods. For energetic photons, the spectrum agrees with the Ore-Powell result, but deviates from it when the photon energy is comparable to the positronium binding energy. The decay spectrum in this region depends on a positronium structure function, which is computed in this paper. At still lower… ▽ More

Phenomenology of the <VVP> Green's function within the Resonance Chiral Theory
Abstract: We analyse the odd-intrinsic-parity effective Lagrangian of QCD valid for processes involving one pseudoscalar with two vector mesons described in terms of antisymmetric tensor fields. Substantial information on the odd-intrinsic-parity couplings is obtained by constructing the vector-vector-pseudoscalar Green's three-point function, at leading order in 1/N_C, and demanding that its short-distan… ▽ More

Odd-intrinsic-parity processes within the Resonance Effective Theory of QCD
Abstract: We analyse the most general odd-intrinsic-parity effective Lagrangian of QCD valid for processes involving one pseudoscalar with vector mesons described in terms of antisymmetric tensor fields. Substantial information on the odd-intrinsic-parity couplings is obtained by constructing the vector-vector-pseudoscalar Green's three-point function, at leading order in 1/Nc, and demanding that its shor… ▽ More

The tau+ tau- production cross section near threshold revisited
Abstract: Next-to-next-to-leading contributions to the cross section sigma(e+e- -> tau+tau-) at energies close to threshold are analysed, taking into account the known non-relativistic effects and O(alpha^2) corrections. The numerical changes with respect to previous works are small, but the new corrections give a true estimate of the uncertainty in the theoretical calculation.

NNLO tau+tau- production cross section at threshold
Abstract: The threshold behaviour of the cross section sigma(e+e- -> tau+tau-) is analysed, taking into account the known higher-order corrections. At present, this observable can be determined to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in a combined expansion in powers of alpha_s and fermion velocities.

QED box amplitude in heavy fermion production
Abstract: We evaluate the two-photon box contribution to heavy fermion production in electron positron annihilation, that provides O(alpha^2) electromagnetic corrections to the Born cross section. The study of its non-relativistic expansion, relevant at energies close to the threshold of production, is also performed. We also verify that the threshold expansion of the one-loop integrals correctly reproduc… ▽ More

New contributions to heavy quark sum rules
Abstract: We analyse new contributions to the theoretical input in heavy quark sum rules and we show that the general theory of singularities of perturbation theory amplitudes yields the method to handle these specific features. In particular we study the inclusion of heavy quark radiation by light quarks at O(alpha_s^2) and non-symmetric correlators at O(alpha_s^3). Closely related, we also propose a sol… ▽ More

On the massless contributions to the vacuum polarization of heavy quarks
Abstract: Recently Groote and Pivovarov have given notice of a possible fault in the use of sum rules involving two-point correlation functions to extract information on heavy quark parameters, due to the presence of massless contributions that invalidate the construction of moments of the spectral densities. Here we show how to circumvent this problem through a new definition of the moments, providing an… ▽ More
