Fixed points and cycles of parking functions
Abstract: A parking function of length $n$ is a sequence $π=(π_1,\dots, π_n)$ of positive integers such that if $λ_1\leq\cdots\leq λ_n$ is the increasing rearrangement of $π_1,\dots,π_n$, then $λ_i\leq i$ for $1\leq i\leq n$. In this paper we obtain some exact results on the number of fixed points and cycles of parking functions. Our proofs will be based on generalizations of Pollak's argument. Extensions o… ▽ More

Promotion of Kreweras words
Abstract: Kreweras words are words consisting of n A's, n B's, and n C's in which every prefix has at least as many A's as B's and at least as many A's as C's. Equivalently, a Kreweras word is a linear extension of the poset ${\sf V}\times [n]$. Kreweras words were introduced in 1965 by Kreweras, who gave a remarkable product formula for their enumeration. A Geometric Interpretation of the Intertwining Number
Abstract: We exhibit a connection between two statistics on set partitions, the intertwining number and the depth-index. In particular, results link the intertwining number to the algebraic geometry of Borel orbits. Furthermore, by studying the generating polynomials of our statistics, we determine the $q=-1$ specialization of a $q$-analogue of the Bell numbers.
