This paper introduces a novel Functional Graph Convolutional Network (funGCN) framework that combines Functional Data Analysis and Graph Convolutional Networks to address the complexities of multi-task and multi-modal learning in digital health and longitudinal studies. With the growing importance of health solutions to improve health care and social support, ensure healthy lives, and promote well-being at all ages, funGCN offers a unified approach to handle multivariate longitudinal data for multiple entities and ensures interpretability even with small sample sizes. Key innovations include task-specific embedding components that manage different data types, the ability to perform classification, regression, and forecasting, and the creation of a knowledge graph for insightful data interpretation. The efficacy of funGCN is validated through simulation experiments and a real-data application.

A modulus of analytic classification is defined, which is an unfolding of the modulus assigned to the antiholomorphic parabolic point. Since the second iterate of such a germ is a real unfolding of a holomorphic parabolic point, the modulus is a special form of an unfolding of the Écalle-Voronin modulus of the second iterate of the antiholomorphic parabolic germ. We also solve the problem of the existence of an antiholomorphic square root to a germ of generic analytic unfolding of a holomorphic parabolic germ.

Longitudinal image registration is challenging and has not yet benefited from major performance improvements thanks to deep-learning. Inspired by Deep Image Prior, this paper introduces a different use of deep architectures as regularizers to tackle the image registration question. We propose a subject-specific deformable registration method called MIRRBA, relying on a deep pyramidal architecture to be the prior parametric model constraining the deformation field. Diverging from the supervised learning paradigm, MIRRBA does not require a learning database, but only the pair of images to be registered to optimize the network's parameters and provide a deformation field. We demonstrate the regularizing power of deep architectures and present new elements to understand the role of the architecture in deep learning methods for registration. Hence, to study the impact of the network parameters, we ran our method with different architectural configurations on a private dataset of 110 metastatic breast cancer full-body PET images with manual segmentations of the brain, bladder and metastatic lesions. We compared it against conventional iterative registration approaches and supervised deep learning-based models. Global and local registration accuracies were evaluated using the detection rate and the Dice score respectively, while registration realism was evaluated using the Jacobian's determinant. Moreover, we computed the ability of the different methods to shrink vanishing lesions with the disappearing rate. MIRRBA significantly improves the organ and lesion Dice scores of supervised models. Regarding the disappearing rate, MIRRBA more than doubles the best performing conventional approach SyNCC score. Our work therefore proposes an alternative way to bridge the performance gap between conventional and deep learning-based methods and demonstrates the regularizing power of deep architectures.

We classify generic unfoldings of germs of antiholomorphic diffeomorphisms with a parabolic point of codimension 1 (i.e. a double fixed point) under conjugacy. These generic unfolding depend on one real parameter. The classification is done by assigning to each such germ a weak and a strong modulus, which are unfoldings of the modulus assigned to the antiholomorphic parabolic point. The weak and the strong moduli are unfoldings of the Écalle-Voronin modulus of the second iterate of the germ which is a real unfolding of a holomorphic parabolic point. A preparation of the unfolding allows to identify one real analytic canonical parameter and any conjugacy between two prepared generic unfoldings preserves the canonical parameter. We also solve the realisation problem by giving necessary and sufficient conditions for a strong modulus to be realized. This is done simultaneously with solving the probem of the existence of an antiholomorphic square root to a germ of generic analytic unfolding of a holomorphic parabolic germ. As a second application we establish the condition for the existence of a real analytic invariant curve.

The term "In Silico Trial" indicates the use of computer modelling and simulation to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a medical product, whether a drug, a medical device, a diagnostic product or an advanced therapy medicinal product. Predictive models are positioned as new methodologies for the development and the regulatory evaluation of medical products. New methodologies are qualified by regulators such as FDA and EMA through formal processes, where a first step is the definition of the Context of Use (CoU), which is a concise description of how the new methodology is intended to be used in the development and regulatory assessment process. As In Silico Trials are a disruptively innovative class of new methodologies, it is important to have a list of possible CoUs highlighting potential applications for the development of the relative regulatory science. This review paper presents the result of a consensus process that took place in the InSilicoWorld Community of Practice, an online forum for experts in in silico medicine. The experts involved identified 46 descriptions of possible CoUs which were organised into a candidate taxonomy of nine CoU categories. Examples of 31 CoUs were identified in the available literature; the remaining 15 should, for now, be considered speculative.

When are two germs of analytic systems conjugate or orbitally equivalent under an analytic change of coordinates in the neighborhood of a singular point? A way to answer is to use normal forms. But there are large classes of dynamical systems for which the change of coordinates to a normal form diverges. In this paper we discuss the case of singularities for which the normalizing transformation is $k$-summable, thus allowing to provide moduli spaces. We explain the common geometric features of these singularities, and show that the study of their unfoldings allows understanding both the singularities themselves, and the geometric obstructions to convergence of the normalizing transformations. We also present some moduli spaces for generic $k$-parameter families unfolding such singularities.

We focus on constructive proofs of the existence of spiderweb central configurations, which allow numerical implementation. Additionally, we prove the uniqueness of such central configurations when $\ell \in \{2,\dots,9\}$ and arbitrary $n$ and $m_i$; under the constraint $m_1\geq m_2\geq \ldots \geq m_n$ we also prove uniqueness for $\ell \in \{10,\dots,18\}$ and $n$ not too large. We also give an algorithm providing a rigorous proof of the existence and local unicity of such central configurations when given as input a choice of $n$, $\ell$ and $m_0, . . . ,m_n$. Finally, our numerical simulations highlight some interesting properties of the mass distribution.

These normal forms provide a moduli space for these parametric families. In our former 2008 paper, a modulus of a family was given as the unfolding of the Martinet-Ramis modulus, but the realization part was missing. We solve the realization problem in that partial case and show the equivalence between the two presentations of the moduli space. Finally, we completely characterize the families which have a modulus depending analytically on the parameter. We provide an application of the result in the field of non-linear, parameterized differential Galois theory.

Two germs of linear analytic differential systems $x^{k+1}Y^\prime=A(x)Y$ with a non resonant irregular singularity are analytically equivalent if and only if they have the same eigenvalues and equivalent collections of Stokes matrices. The Stokes matrices are the transition matrices between sectors on which the system is analytically equivalent to its formal normal form. Each sector contains exactly one separating ray for each pair of eigenvalues. A rotation in $S$ allows supposing that $\mathbb R^+$ lies in the intersection of two sectors. Reordering of the coordinates of $Y$ allows ordering the real parts of the eigenvalues, thus yielding triangular Stokes matrices. However, the choice of the rotation in $x$ is not canonical. In this paper we establish how the collection of Stokes matrices depends on this rotation, and hence on a chosen order of the projection of the eigenvalues on a line through the origin.

In this paper, we identify the moduli space for germs of generic unfoldings of nonresonant linear differential systems with an irregular singularity of Poincaré rank $k$ at the origin, under analytic equivalence. The modulus of a given family was determined in \cite{HLR}: it comprises a formal part depending analytically on the parameters, and an analytic part given by unfoldings of the Stokes matrices. These unfoldings are given on "Douady-Sentenac" (DS) domains in the parameter space covering the generic values of the parameters corresponding to Fuchsian singular points. Here we identify exactly which moduli can be realized. A necessary condition on the analytic part, called compatibility condition, is saying that the unfoldings define the same monodromy group (up to conjugacy) for the different presentations of the modulus on the intersections of DS domains. With the additional requirement that the corresponding cocycle is trivial and good limit behavior at some boundary points of the DS domains, this condition becomes sufficient. In particular we show that any modulus can be realized by a $k$-parameter family of systems of rational linear differential equations over $\mathbb C\mathbb P^1$ with $k+1$, $k+2$ or $k+3$ singular points (with multiplicities). Under the generic condition of irreducibility, there are precisely $k+2$ singular points which are Fuchsian as soon as simple. This in turn implies that any unfolding of an irregular singularity of Poincaré rank $k$ is analytically equivalent to a rational system of the form $y'=\frac{A(x)}{p_ε(x)}\cdot y$, with $A(x)$ polynomial of degree at most $k$ and $p_ε(x)$ is the generic unfolding of the polynomial $x^{k+1}$.

In this paper we introduce new methods to prove the finite cyclicity of some graphics through a triple nilpotent point of saddle or elliptic type surrounding a center. After applying a blow-up of the family, yielding a singular 3-dimensional foliation, this amounts to proving the finite cyclicity of a family of limit periodic sets of the foliation. The boundary limit periodic sets of these families were the most challenging, but the new methods are quite general for treating such graphics. We apply these techniques to prove the finite cyclicity of the graphic $(I_{14}^1)$, which is part of the program started in 1994 by Dumortier, Roussarie and Rousseau (and called DRR program) to show that there exists a uniform upper bound for the number of limit cycles of a planar quadratic vector field. We also prove the finite cyclicity of the boundary limit periodic sets in all graphics but one through a triple nilpotent point at infinity of saddle, elliptic or degenerate type (with a line of zeros) and surrounding a center, namely the graphics $(I_{6b}^1)$, $(H_{13}^3)$, and $(DI_{2b})$.

We show that the buried mangrove layer plays the role of an isolation system equivalent to those usually employed in earthquake engineering aimed at reducing the seismic shear forces by reducing the internal stress within the structure. In our case, the flexibility of the mangrove layer reduces the distortion and the stress in the sandy upper layer, and consequently reduces the potential of liquefaction of the site.

In this, paper, we give a complete system of analytic invariants for the unfoldings of nonresonant linear differential systems with an irregular singularity of Poincaré rank 1 at the origin over a fixed neighborhood $D_r$. The unfolding parameter $ε$ is taken in a sector S pointed at the origin of opening larger than $2 π$ in the complex plane, thus covering a whole neighborhood of the origin. For each parameter value in S, we cover $D_r$ with two sectors and, over each sector, we construct a well chosen basis of solutions of the unfolded linear differential systems. This basis is used to find the analytic invariants linked to the monodromy of the chosen basis around the singular points. The analytic invariants give a complete geometric interpretation to the well-known Stokes matrices at $ε=0$: this includes the link (existing at least for the generic cases) between the divergence of the solutions at $ε=0$ and the presence of logarithmic terms in the solutions for resonance values of the unfolding parameter. Finally, we give a realization theorem for a given complete system of analytic invariants satisfying a necessary and sufficient condition, thus identifying the set of modules.

In this paper we describe the moduli space of germs of generic families of analytic diffeomorphisms which unfold a parabolic fixed point of codimension 1.
In [MRR] (and also [R]), it was shown that the Ecalle-Voronin modulus can be unfolded to give a complete modulus for such germs. The modulus is defined on a ramified sector in the canonical perturbation parameter $\eps$. As in the case of the Ecalle-Voronin modulus, the modulus is defined up to a linear scaling depending only on $\eps$.
Here, we characterize the moduli space for such unfoldings by finding the compatibility conditions on the modulus which are necessary and sufficient for realization as the modulus of an unfolding.
The compatibility condition is obtained by considering the region of sectorial overlap in $\eps$-space. This lies in the Glutsyuk sector where the two fixed points are hyperbolic and connected by the orbits of the diffeomorphism. In this region we have two representatives of the modulus which describe the same dynamics. We identify the necessary compatibility condition between these two representatives by comparing them both with their common Glutsyuk modulus.
The compatibility condition implies the existence of a linear scaling for which the modulus is 1/2-summable in $\eps$, whose direction of non-summability coincides with the direction of real multipliers at the fixed points. Conversely, we show that the compatibility condition (which implies the summability property) is sufficient to realize the modulus as coming from an analytic unfolding, thus giving a complete description of the space of moduli.

In this paper we study the confluence of two regular singular points of the hypergeometric equation into an irregular one. We study the consequence of the divergence of solutions at the irregular singular point for the unfolded system. Our study covers a full neighborhood of the origin in the confluence parameter space. In particular, we show how the divergence of solutions at the irregular singular point explains the presence of logarithmic terms in the solutions at a regular singular point of the unfolded system. For this study, we consider values of the confluence parameter taken in two sectors covering the complex plane. In each sector, we study the monodromy of a first integral of a Riccati system related to the hypergeometric equation. Then, on each sector, we include the presence of logarithmic terms into a continuous phenomenon and view a Stokes multiplier related to a 1-summable solution as the limit of an obstruction that prevents a pair of eigenvectors of the monodromy operators, one at each singular point, to coincide.

In this paper we consider germs of k-parameter generic families of analytic 2-dimensional vector fields unfolding a saddle-node of codimension k and we give a complete modulus of analytic classification under orbital equivalence and a complete modulus of analytic classification under conjugacy. The modulus is an unfolding of the corresponding modulus for the vector field with the saddle-node. The point of view is to compare the family with a "model family" via an equivalence (conjugacy) over canonical sectors. This is done by studying the asymptotic homology of the leaves and its consequences for solutions of the cohomological equation.

Abstract:
An r-book of size q is a union of q (r+1)-cliques sharing a common r-clique. We find exactly the Ramsey number of a p-clique versus r-books of sufficiently large size. Furthermore, we find asymptotically the Ramsey number of any fixed p-chromatic graph versus r-books of sufficiently large size. The key element in our proofs is Szemeredi's Regularity Lemma.

Authors:

Abstract:
Wilf posed the following problem: determine asymptotically as $n\to\infty$ the probability that a randomly chosen part size in a randomly chosen composition of n has multiplicity m. One solution of this problem was given by Hitczenko and Savage. In this paper, we study this question using the techniques of generating functions and singularity analysis.
