A Critical Appraisal and Evaluation of Modern PDFs
Abstract: We review the present status of the determination of parton distribution functions (PDFs) in the light of the precision requirements for the LHC in Run 2 and other future hadron colliders. We provide brief reviews of all currently available PDF sets and use them to compute cross sections for a number of benchmark processes, including Higgs boson production in gluon-gluon fusion at the LHC. We show… ▽ More

Delineating parton distributions and the strong coupling
Abstract: Global fits for precision determinations of parton distributions, together with the highly correlated strong coupling $α_s$, are presented up to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) of QCD utilizing most world data (charm and jet production data are used where theoretically possible), except TeVatron gauge boson production data and LHC data which are left for genuine predictions. Dynamical parton distributions and weak-gauge and Higgs boson production at hadron colliders at NNLO of QCD

Parton Models and the elastic scattering of supersymmetric dark matter off nucleons
Abstract: The consequences of a flavor broken SU(3)_f dynamical parton model are studied in the context of the elastic scattering of supersymmetric dark matter off nucleons. It is shown that the predictions of this model differ considerably from those of the commonly applied `standard' parton model. Some notable properties of the dynamical parton model are finally presented and discussed.

Comments: 34 pages, LaTeX, 9 figures; Only quantitative results of the original paper have been changed for two reasons: (1) small errors in the calculation of the NLO anom. dimensions (ref. 11); (2) inclusion of new data. Previous LO results (ref. 1) have also been updated

Radiative Parton Model Analysis of Polarized Deep Inelastic Lepton Nucleon Scattering
Abstract: A leading order QCD analysis of spin asymmetries in polarized deep inelastic lepton nucleon scattering is presented within the framework of the radiative parton model. Two resulting sets of plausible leading order spin dependent parton distributions are presented, respecting the fundamental positivity constraints down to the low resolution scale $Q^2=μ_{LO}^2=0.23$ GeV$^2$. The $Q^2$ dependence… ▽ More
