UV-complete Gauged Anomaly-free U(1) Froggatt-Nielsen Model
Abstract: We investigate the possibility of understanding all fermion masses and mixings within a gauged Froggatt-Nielsen framework. Continuing the work from [J. Rathsman and F. Tellander, Phys. Rev. D \textbf{100}, 055032 (2019)] we especially focus on a UV completion of this type of models. Independent of the UV completion, we construct an anomaly-free two Higgs doublet model with a gauged $U(1)_F$ flavor… ▽ More

Anomaly-free Model Building with Algebraic Geometry
Abstract: We present a method to find anomaly-free gauged Froggatt-Nielsen type models using results from algebraic geometry. Complementary bound on $W^\prime$ mass from Higgs to diphoton decay
Abstract: Using the left-right symmetric model as an illustrative example, we suggest a simple and straightforward way of constraining the $W'$ mass directly from the decay of the Higgs boson to two photons. The proposed method is generic and applicable to a diverse range of models with a $W'$-boson that couples to the SM-like Higgs boson. Our analysis exemplifies how the precision measurement of the Higgs… ▽ More

Scalar Kinetic Mixing and the Renormalization Group
Abstract: Quantum field theories containing scalar fields with equal quantum numbers allow for a mixed kinetic term in the Lagrangian. It has been argued that this mixing must be taken into consideration when performing renormalization group (RG) analyses of such a theory. However, from the fact that scalar kinetic mixing does not correspond to a physical observable, we show that no extra parameters need to… ▽ More

$Z_2$ breaking effects in 2-loop RG evolution of 2HDM
Abstract: We investigate the effects of a $Z_2$ symmetry in the CP-conserving Two-Higgs-Doublet-Model (2HDM); which is often imposed to prevent Flavor-Changing-Neutral-Currents (FCNCs) at tree-level. Specifically, we analyze how a breaking of the $Z_2$ symmetry spreads during renormalization group evolution; employing general 2-loop renormalization group equations that we have derived. Abstract: In this note we give interim recommendations on how to evaluate LHC cross sections for (neutral) Higgs production and Higgs branching ratios in the general (CP-conserving) Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (2HDM). The current status of available higher-order corrections to Higgs production and decay in this model is discussed, and the existing public codes implementing these calculations are described. Higgs phenomenology in the Stealth Doublet Model
Abstract: We analyze a model for the Higgs sector with two scalar doublets and a $Z_2$ symmetry that is manifest in the Yukawa sector but broken in the potential. Thus, one of the doublets breaks the electroweak symmetry and has tree-level Yukawa couplings to fermions, whereas the other doublet has no vacuum expectation value and no tree-level couplings to fermions. Since the $Z_2$ parity is broken the two… ▽ More

The thrust and heavy-jet mass distributions in the two-jet region
Abstract: Dressed Gluon Exponentiation (DGE) is used to calculate the thrust and the heavy-jet mass distributions in e+e- annihilation in the two-jet region. We perform a detailed analysis of power corrections, taking care of the effect of hadron masses on the measured observables. In DGE the Sudakov exponent is calculated in a renormalization-scale invariant way using renormalon resummation. Neglecting t… ▽ More

Resummation and power corrections by Dressed Gluon Exponentiation
Abstract: Event-shape distributions in $e^+e^-$ annihilation offer a unique lab oratory for understanding perturbative and non-perturbative aspects of QCD. Dressed Gluon Exponentiation is a resummation method designed to evaluate differ ential cross sections close to a kinematic threshold and provide the basis for parametrization of power corrections. The method and its application in the case of the thru… ▽ More

Renormalon resummation and exponentiation of soft and collinear gluon radiation in the thrust distribution
Abstract: The thrust distribution in e+e- annihilation is calculated exploiting its exponentiation property in the two-jet region t = 1-T << 1. We present a general method (DGE) to calculate a large class of logarithmically enhanced terms, using the dispersive approach in renormalon calculus. Dressed Gluon Exponentiation is based on the fact that the exponentiation kernel is associated primarily with a si… ▽ More

Conformal Expansions: A Template for QCD Predictions
Abstract: The use of conformal expansions for predictions in quantum chromodynamics is discussed as a way to avoid renormalization scheme and scale ambiguities, as well as factorial growth of perturbative coefficients due to renormalons. Special emphasis is given to the properties of an assumed skeleton expansion and its relation to the Banks-Zaks expansion. The relation of BLM scale-setting to the skelet… ▽ More

The static PQCD potential with modified boundary conditions
Abstract: We calculate the potential between two static quarks in QCD using modified boundary conditions for the perturbative expansion. Through a change of the Feynman iepsilon prescription we effectively add a "sea" of gluons to the asymptotic states with energies below a given scale Lambda. We find that the standard result for the static potential gets corrections of order Lambda^2/Q^2 both at small an… ▽ More

Jet Asymmetry in High Energy Diffractive Production
Abstract: We propose the asymmetry in the fractional energy of charm versus anticharm jets produced in high energy diffractive photoproduction as a sensitive test of the interference of the Odderon (C = -) and Pomeron (C = +) exchange amplitudes in QCD. If measured at HERA, this asymmetry could provide the first experimental evidence of the Odderon.

Disentangling running coupling and conformal effects in QCD
Abstract: We investigate the relation between a postulated skeleton expansion and the conformal limit of QCD. We begin by develo** some consequences of an Abelian-like skeleton expansion, which allows one to disentangle running-coupling effects from the remaining skeleton coefficients. The latter are by construction renormalon-free, and hence hopefully better behaved. We consider a simple ansatz for the… ▽ More

Soft Colour Interactions in Non-perturbative QCD
Abstract: Improved understanding of non-perturbative QCD dynamics can be obtained in terms of soft colour exchange models. Their essence is the variation of colour string-field topologies giving a unified description of final states in high energy interactions. In particular, both events with and without large rapidity gaps are obtained in agreement with data from ep at HERA and ppbar at the Tevatron, whe… ▽ More

Rapidity Gaps from Colour String Topologies
Abstract: Diffractive deep inelastic scattering at HERA and diffractive W and jet production at the Tevatron are well described by soft colour exchange models. Their essence is the variation of colour string-field topologies giving both gap and no-gap events, with a smooth transition and thereby a unified description of all final states.
