Abstract:
In this note, we show that, under a certain condition, solvable extensions of number fields ramifed at only one prime are Ostrowski. As a corollary, we deduce a generalization of Hilbert Theorem 94 to cyclic extensions ramifed at one prime.

With the increasing penetration of renewable power sources such as wind and solar, accurate short-term, nowcasting renewable power prediction is becoming increasingly important. This paper investigates the multi-modal (MM) learning and end-to-end (E2E) learning for nowcasting renewable power as an intermediate to energy management systems. MM combines features from all-sky imagery and meteorological sensor data as two modalities to predict renewable power generation that otherwise could not be combined effectively. The combined, predicted values are then input to a differentiable optimal power flow (OPF) formulation simulating the energy management. For the first time, MM is combined with E2E training of the model that minimises the expected total system cost. The case study tests the proposed methodology on the real sky and meteorological data from the Netherlands. In our study, the proposed MM-E2E model reduced system cost by 30% compared to uni-modal baselines.

Abstract:
In this paper, adaptive prescribed finite time stabilization of uncertain single-input and single-output nonlinear systems is considered in the presence of unknown states, unknown parameters, external load disturbance, and non-symmetric input saturation. In this paper, adaptive prescribed finite time stabilization of uncertain single-input and single-output nonlinear systems is considered in the presence of unknown states, unknown parameters, external load disturbance, and non-symmetric input saturation. A prescribed finite time disturbance observer is designed to approximate the unmeasured external disturbance. Also, a nonsingular prescribed finite time terminal sliding mode control is proposed for the closed-loop control of the system with the non-symmetric input saturation. Extended Kalman filter algorithm is employed for the real-time estimations of the states and unknown parameters of the system. Moreover, particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to obtain the design parameters of the proposed disturbance observer and controller. To show the performance of designed control scheme, the proposed approach is employed to guarantee prescribed finite time stabilization of nonlinear vibration of a nonlocal strain gradient nanobeam. Finally, numerical simulations are performed to illustrate the effectiveness and performance of the developed adaptive control scheme for the vibration control of nanobeam in comparison to the conventional sliding mode control.

We define the relative Polya group for a finite extension of number fields and prove triviality of the relative Polya group for the Hilbert class field. Then we generalize our previous results on Polya S3-extensions of Q to some dihedral extensions of Q.

In this paper, we introduce a notion of quantum discrepancy, a non-commutative version of combinatorial discrepancy which is defined for projection systems, i.e. finite sets of orthogonal projections, as non-commutative counterparts of set systems. We show that besides its natural algebraic formulation, quantum discrepancy, when restricted to set systems, has a probabilistic interpretation in terms of determinantal processes. Determinantal processes are a family of point processes with a rich algebraic structure. A common feature of this family is the local repulsive behavior of points. Alishahi and Zamani (2015) exploit this repelling property to construct low-discrepancy point configurations on the sphere.
We give an upper bound for quantum discrepancy in terms of $N$, the dimension of the space, and $M$, the size of the projection system, which is tight in a wide range of parameters $N$ and $M$. Then we investigate the relation of these two kinds of discrepancies, i.e. combinatorial and quantum, when restricted to set systems, and bound them in terms of each other.

Following the development of fuzzy logic theory by Lotfi Zadeh, its applications were investigated by researchers in different fields. Presenting and working with uncertain data is a complex problem. To solve for such a complex problem, the structure of relationships and operators dependent on such relationships must be repaired. The fuzzy database has integrity limitations including data dependencies. In this paper, first fuzzy multivalued dependency based semantic proximity and its problems are studied. To solve these problems, the semantic proximity's formula is modified, and fuzzy multivalued dependency based on the concept of extension of semantic proximity with αdegree is defined in fuzzy relational database which includes Crisp, NULL and fuzzy values, and also inference rules for this dependency are defined, and their completeness is proved. Finally, we will show that fuzzy functional dependency based on this concept is a special case of fuzzy multivalued dependency in fuzzy relational database.
