We extend Foissy's work on finite-dimensional comodules over the Butcher--Connes--Kreimer Hopf algebra of non-planar rooted trees to the Munthe-Kaas--Wright Hopf algebra of planar rooted trees. This includes the description of its endomorphisms as well as the recursive construction of its primitive elements. The findings are applied in the context of rough paths, where we describe an isomorphism between planarly branched and geometric rough paths. We also explore the geometric embedding for planar regularity structures as well as the link between the concept of bialgebras in cointeraction, the Guin--Oudom construction and the notion of translation on rough paths.

As the impact of AI on various scientific fields is increasing, it is crucial to embrace interdisciplinary knowledge to understand the impact of technology on society. The goal is to foster a research environment beyond disciplines that values diversity and creates, critiques and develops new conceptual and theoretical frameworks. Even though research beyond disciplines is essential for understanding complex societal issues and creating positive impact it is notoriously difficult to evaluate and is often not recognized by current academic career progression. The motivation for this paper is to engage in broad discussion across disciplines and identify guiding principles fir AI research beyond disciplines in a structured and inclusive way, revealing new perspectives and contributing to societal and human wellbeing and sustainability.

Translations of rough paths in combinatorial Hopf algebras

We generalize Bruned et.al.'s notion of translation in geometric and branched rough paths to a notion of translation in rough paths over any combinatorial Hopf algebra. We show that this notion of translation is equivalent to two bialgebras being in cointeraction, subject to certain additional conditions. We argue that reformulating translations in terms of substitutions, provides simpler conditions for the cointeraction formulation. For the special case where the translation can be obtained from a product, we show how to obtain a description of the dual coaction. As a concrete example, we describe translations in planarly branched rough paths.

We then apply the same construction to the post-Lie operad to arrive at a bialgebra $\mathcal{Q}$. By considering a module over the post-Lie operad, we get a cointeraction between $\mathcal{Q}$ and the Hopf algebra $\mathcal{H}_N$ that describes composition for Lie-Butcher series. We use this coaction to describe substitution for Lie-Butcher series.
