Sulphurization processes in Cu(In,Ga)Se$_2$ thin-film solar cells has been intensively studied in the last decade as a viable alternative to the existing Ga-grading. The main advantage of using S grading is that by substituting Se with S we will achieve not only an upshift of the conduction-band minimum as done by employing Ga grading, but also a downshift of the valence-band maximum. Several existing studies stipulate that S is very often inserted in too high concentrations into Cu(In,Ga)Se$_2$ absorber by sulphurization resulting in a deteriorated device performance instead of the expected beneficial effect. However, we demonstrate here that the intense sulphurization process when accompanied by Ga-grading leads to improved electrical properties of the buffer/absorber heterojunction. More exactly, this double grading at the absorber surface leads to strong reduction of the p-do** and hence to a change in the band diagram. This work also proves that the intense sulphurization process is accompanied by strong structural and chemical changes, i.e., by the formation of a S-rich CuIn(S,Se)$_2$ compound at the absorber surface. Finally, all these experimental findings were complemented by ab-initio calculations of the conduction-band and valence-band offsets between absorber and buffer obtained by using density functional theory. Hence, the present work opens up new possibilities for synthesizing Cu(In,Ga)(Se,S)2 solar cells with superior cell performance when using an intense sulphurization process.

The chemical bond is one of the most powerful, yet controversial concepts in chemistry, explaining property trends in solids. Recently, a novel type of chemical bonding has been identified in several higher chalcogenides, characterized by a unique property portfolio, unconventional bond breaking and sharing of about one electron between adjacent atoms. Metavalent bonding is a fundamental type of bonding besides covalent, ionic and metallic bonding, raising the pertinent question, if there is a well-defined transition between metavalent and covalent bonding. For three different pseudo-binary lines, namely GeTe1-xSex, Sb2Te3(1-x)Se3x and Bi2-2xSb2xSe3, a sudden drop in several properties, including the optical dielectric constant, the Born effective charge, the electrical conductivity as well as the bond breaking is observed once a critical Se or Sb concentration is reached. This finding provides a blueprint to explore the impact of metavalent bonding on attractive properties utilized in phase change materials and thermoelectrics.

Majority of the computer or mobile phone enthusiasts make use of the web for searching activity. Web search engines are used for the searching; The results that the search engines get are provided to it by a software module known as the Web Crawler. The size of this web is increasing round-the-clock. The principal problem is to search this huge database for specific information. To state whether a web page is relevant to a search topic is a dilemma. This paper proposes a crawler called as PDD crawler which will follow both a link based as well as a content based approach. This crawler follows a completely new crawling strategy to compute the relevance of the page. It analyses the content of the page based on the information contained in various tags within the HTML source code and then computes the total weight of the page. The page with the highest weight, thus has the maximum content and highest relevance.

In real world, the huge amount of temporal data is to be processed in many application areas such as scientific, financial, network monitoring, sensor data analysis. Data mining techniques are primarily oriented to handle discrete features. In the case of temporal data the time plays an important role on the characteristics of data. To consider this effect, the data discretization techniques have to consider the time while processing to resolve the issue by finding the intervals of data which are more concise and precise with respect to time. Here, this research is reviewing different data discretization techniques used in temporal data applications according to the inclusion or exclusion of: class label, temporal order of the data and handling of stream data to open the research direction for temporal data discretization to improve the performance of data mining technique.

In recent years, stream data have become an immensely growing area of research for the database, computer science and data mining communities. Stream data is an ordered sequence of instances. In many applications of data stream mining data can be read only once or a small number of times using limited computing and storage capabilities. Some of the issues occurred in classifying stream data that have significant impact in algorithm development are size of database, online streaming, high dimensionality and concept drift. The concept drift occurs when the properties of the historical data and target variable change over time abruptly in such a case that the predictions will become inaccurate as time passes. In this paper the framework of incremental classification is proposed to solve the issues for the classification of stream data. The Trie structure based incremental feature tree, Trie structure based incremental FP (Frequent Pattern) growth tree and tree based incremental classification algorithm are introduced in the proposed framework.

This paper proposes a new scheme for performance enhancement of distributed genetic algorithm (DGA). Initial population is divided in two classes i.e. female and male. Simple distance based clustering is used for cluster formation around females. For reclustering self-adaptive K-means is used, which produces well distributed and well separated clusters. The self-adaptive K-means used for reclustering automatically locates initial position of centroids and number of clusters. Four plans of co-evolution are applied on these clusters independently. Clusters evolve separately. Merging of clusters takes place depending on their performance. For experimentation unimodal and multimodal test functions have been used. Test result show that the new scheme of distribution of population has given better performance.
