Incorporating the dynamics knowledge into the model is critical for achieving accurate trajectory prediction while considering the spatial and temporal characteristics of the vessel. However, existing methods rarely consider the underlying dynamics knowledge and directly use machine learning algorithms to predict the trajectories. Intuitively, the vessel's motions are following the laws of dynamics, e.g., the speed of a vessel decreases when turning a corner. Yet, it is challenging to combine dynamic knowledge and neural networks due to their inherent heterogeneity. Against this background, we propose MSTFormer, a motion inspired vessel trajectory prediction method based on Transformer. The contribution of this work is threefold. First, we design a data augmentation method to describe the spatial features and motion features of the trajectory. Second, we propose a Multi-headed Dynamic-aware Self-attention mechanism to focus on trajectory points with frequent motion transformations. Finally, we construct a knowledge-inspired loss function to further boost the performance of the model. Experimental results on real-world datasets show that our strategy not only effectively improves long-term predictive capability but also outperforms backbones on cornering data. The ablation analysis further confirms the efficacy of the proposed method. To the best of our knowledge, MSTFormer is the first neural network model for trajectory prediction fused with vessel motion dynamics, providing a worthwhile direction for future research. The source code is available at https://github.com/simple316/MSTFormer.

A new $α$-emitting isotope $^{214}$U, produced by fusion-evaporation reaction $^{182}$W($^{36}$Ar, 4n)$^{214}$U, was identified by employing the gas-filled recoil separator SHANS and recoil-$α$ correlation technique. More precise $α$-decay properties of even-even nuclei $^{216,218}$U were also measured in reactions of $^{40}$Ar, $^{40}$Ca with $^{180, 182, 184}$W targets. By combining the experimental data, improved $α$-decay reduced widths $δ^2$ for the even-even Po--Pu nuclei in the vicinity of magic neutron number $N=126$ were deduced. Their systematic trends are discussed in terms of $N_{p}N_{n}$ scheme in order to study the influence of proton-neutron interaction on $α$ decay in this region of nuclei. It is strikingly found that the reduced widths of $^{214,216}$U are significantly enhanced by a factor of two as compared with the $N_{p}N_{n}$ systematics for the $84 \leq Z \leq 90$ and $N<126$ even-even nuclei. The abnormal enhancement is interpreted by the strong monopole interaction between the valence protons and neutrons occupying the $π1f_{7/2}$ and $ν1f_{5/2}$ spin-orbit partner orbits, which is supported by a large-scale shell model calculation.

Precession is a unique motion in which the orientation of the rotational axis of a rotating body is not fixed but moving, and it generally exists in the Universe from giant stars through tiny atomic nuclei. In principle, the precession of an atomic nuclide can be approximately described as wobbling motion, arising from the coupling of a rotation and a harmonic vibration. Recently, a number of wobbling bands were reported at low spin, which violate the wobbling approximation that can be valid only at high spin. Here we explore the nature of the reported low-spin wobbling bands. Via a new experiment, we demonstrate that one such band in $^{187}$Au is generated by dominant single-particle excitation rather than by the excitation of a wobbling phonon. We point out that the imperfect research paradigm used previously would lead to unreliable identification of low-spin wobbling bands. Consequently, new experimental approaches should be developed to distinguish among the different excitation mechanisms that can give rise to the observed low-spin bands in odd-even nuclei.

Deep learning (DL) has emerged as an effective tool for channel estimation in wireless communication systems, especially under some imperfect environments. However, even with such unprecedented success, DL methods are often regarded as black boxes and are lack of explanations on their internal mechanisms, which severely limits further improvement and extension. In this paper, we present a preliminary theoretical analysis on DL based channel estimation for multiple-antenna systems to understand and interpret its internal mechanism. Deep neural network (DNN) with rectified linear unit (ReLU) activation function is mathematically equivalent to a piecewise linear function. Hence, the corresponding DL estimator can achieve universal approximation to a large family of functions by making efficient use of piecewise linearity. We demonstrate that DL based channel estimation does not restrict to any specific signal model and approaches to the minimum mean-squared error (MMSE) estimation in various scenarios without requiring any prior knowledge of channel statistics. Therefore, DL based channel estimation outperforms or is at least comparable with traditional channel estimation, depending on the types of channels. Simulation results confirm the accuracy of the proposed interpretation and demonstrate the effectiveness of DL based channel estimation under both linear and nonlinear signal models.

The cross sections of complete fusion and incomplete fusion for the $ ^{9} $Be + $ ^{197} $Au system, at energies not too much above the Coulomb barrier, were measured for the first time. The online activation followed by offline $γ$-ray spectroscopy method was used for the derivation of the cross sections. A slightly higher value of ICF/TF ratio has been observed, compared to other systems reported in the literature with $ ^{9} $Be beam. The experimental data were compared with coupled channel calculations without taking into account the coupling of the breakup channel, and experimental data of other reaction systems with weakly bound projectiles. A complete fusion suppression of about 40\% was found for the $ ^{9} $Be + $ ^{197} $Au system, at energies above the barrier, whereas the total fusion cross sections are in agreement with the calculations.

The rapid growth of consumer Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) is creating promising new business opportunities for cellular operators. On the one hand, UAVs can be connected to cellular networks as new types of user equipment, therefore generating significant revenues for the operators that can guarantee their stringent service requirements. On the other hand, UAVs offer the unprecedented opportunity to realize UAV-mounted flying base stations that can dynamically reposition themselves to boost coverage, spectral efficiency, and user quality of experience. Indeed, the standardization bodies are currently exploring possibilities for serving commercial UAVs with cellular networks. Industries are beginning to trial early prototypes of flying base stations or user equipments, while academia is in full swing researching mathematical and algorithmic solutions to address interesting new problems arising from flying nodes in cellular networks. In this article, we provide a comprehensive survey of all of these developments promoting smooth integration of UAVs into cellular networks. Specifically, we survey (i) the types of consumer UAVs currently available off-the-shelf, (ii) the interference issues and potential solutions addressed by standardization bodies for serving aerial users with the existing terrestrial base stations, (iii) the challenges and opportunities for assisting cellular communications with UAV-based flying relays and base stations, (iv) the ongoing prototy** and test bed activities, (v) the new regulations being developed to manage the commercial use of UAVs, and (vi) the cyber-physical security of UAV-assisted cellular communications.

Using the concept of a cohesive module defined by Block, we use the theory of superconnections in the sense of Quillen to construct natural superconnections on Hermitian cohesive modules. By the Chern-Weil construction, we obtain characteristic classes with values in Bott-Chern cohomology which refines the usual deRham cohomology. The main result of this paper shows that such characteristic classes are independent of the Hermitian metric and only dependent on the homotopy class of the cohesive module in the homotopy category. This extends the Bott-Chern cohomology to the bounded derived category of complexes of analytic sheaves with coherent cohomology. We also constructed secondary Bott-Chern characteristic forms and the main technical theorem proves that they are well defined.
