Abstract:
We report a measurement of the cross section for the process $e^+e^-\toπ^+π^-J/ψ$ around the $X(3872)$ mass in search for the direct formation of $e^+e^-\to X(3872)$ through the two-photon fusion process. No enhancement of the cross section is observed at the $X(3872)$ peak and an upper limit on the product of electronic width and branching fraction of $X(3872)\toπ^+π^-J/ψ$ is determined to be $Γ_{ee}\times\mathcal{B}(X(3872)\toπ^+π^-J/ψ)<7.5\times10^{-3}\,\text{eV}$ at $90\,\%$ confidence level under an assumption of total width of $1.19\pm0.21$ MeV. This is an improvement of a factor of about $17$ compared to the previous limit. Furthermore, using the latest result of $\mathcal{B}(X(3872)\toπ^+π^-J/ψ)$, an upper limit on the electronic width $Γ_{ee}$ of $X(3872)$ is obtained to be $<0.32\,\text{eV}$ at the $90\,\%$ confidence level.

The covariant tensor amplitude method is used in both mass independent and mass dependent approaches. Both analysis approaches exhibit dominant pseudoscalar and axial vector components, and show good consistency for the other individual components. Furthermore, the mass dependent analysis reveals that the $K^{0}_{S}K^{0}_{S}π^{0}$ invariant mass spectrum for the pseudoscalar component can be well described with two isoscalar resonant states using relativistic Breit-Wigner model, ${\it i.e.}$, the $η(1405)$ with a mass of $1391.7\pm0.7_{-0.3}^{+11.3}\mathrm{\ Me\kern -0.1em V}/c^2$ and a width of $60.8\pm1.2_{-12.0}^{+5.5}\mathrm{\ Me\kern -0.1em V}$, and the $η(1475)$ with a mass of $1507.6\pm1.6_{-32.2}^{+15.5}\mathrm{\ Me\kern -0.1em V}/c^2$ and a width of $115.8\pm2.4_{-10.9}^{+14.8}\mathrm{\ Me\kern -0.1em V}$. The first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Alternate models for the pseudoscalar component are also tested, but the description of the $K^{0}_{S}K^{0}_{S}π^{0}$ invariant mass spectrum deteriorates significantly.

Making use of the world-average branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\toΛπ^+π^0)$, their branching fractions are determined to be \begin{eqnarray*} \begin{aligned} \mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\toΛρ(770)^+)=&(4.06\pm0.30\pm0.35\pm0.23)\times10^{-2},\\ \mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\toΣ(1385)^+π^0)=&(5.86\pm0.49\pm0.52\pm0.35)\times10^{-3},\\ \mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\toΣ(1385)^0π^+)=&(6.47\pm0.59\pm0.66\pm0.38)\times10^{-3},\\ \end{aligned} \end{eqnarray*} where the first uncertainties are statistical, the second are systematic, and the third are from the uncertainties of the branching fractions $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\toΛπ^+π^0)$ and $\mathcal{B}(Σ(1385)\toΛπ)$. In addition, %according to amplitudes determined from the partial wave analysis, the decay asymmetry parameters are measured to be $α_{Λρ(770)^+}=-0.763\pm0.053\pm0.045$, $α_{Σ(1385)^{+}π^0}=-0.917\pm0.069\pm0.056$, and $α_{Σ(1385)^{0}π^+}=-0.789\pm0.098\pm0.056$.

Brain-computer interface (BCI) provides a direct communication pathway between human brain and external devices. Before a new subject could use BCI, a calibration procedure is usually required. Because the inter- and intra-subject variances are so large that the models trained by the existing subjects perform poorly on new subjects. Therefore, effective subject-transfer and calibration method is essential. In this paper, we propose a semi-supervised meta learning (SSML) method for subject-transfer learning in BCIs. The proposed SSML learns a meta model with the existing subjects first, then fine-tunes the model in a semi-supervised learning manner, i.e. using few labeled and many unlabeled samples of target subject for calibration. It is significant for BCI applications where the labeled data are scarce or expensive while unlabeled data are readily available. To verify the SSML method, three different BCI paradigms are tested: 1) event-related potential detection; 2) emotion recognition; and 3) sleep staging. The SSML achieved significant improvements of over 15% on the first two paradigms and 4.9% on the third. The experimental results demonstrated the effectiveness and potential of the SSML method in BCI applications.

The Extended Discrete Element Method (XDEM) is an innovative numerical simulation technique that extends the dynamics of granular materials known as Discrete Element Method (DEM) by additional properties such as the thermodynamic state, stress/strain for each particle. Such DEM simulations used by industries to set up their experimental processes are complexes and heavy in computation time.
At each time step, those simulations generate a list of interacting particles and this phase is one of the most computationally expensive parts of a DEM simulation. The Verlet buffer method, initially introduced in Molecular Dynamic (MD) (and also used in DEM), allows kee** the interaction list for many time steps by extending each particle neighbourhood by a certain extension range, and thus broadening the interaction list. The method relies on the temporal coherency of DEM, which guarantees that no particles move erratically from one time step to the next. In the classical approach, all the particles have their neighbourhood extended by the same value which leads to suboptimal performances in simulations where different flow regimes coexist. Additionally, and unlike in MD, there is no comprehensive study analysing the different parameters that affect the performance of the Verlet buffer method in DEM.
In this work, we propose a new method for the dynamic update of the neighbour list that depends on the particles individual displacement and define a particle-specific extension range based on the local flow regime. The interaction list is analysed throughout the simulation based on the particle's displacement allowing a flexible update according to the flow regime conditions. We evaluate the influence of the Verlet extension range on the execution time through different test cases and analyse empirically the extension range value giving the best performance.

This is the first measurement of the electromagnetic Dalitz transition between the $ψ(3686)$ and the $η_c$, which provides new insight into the electromagnetic properties of this decay, and offers new opportunities to measure the absolute branching fractions of $η_c$ decays.

\b{eta}-Mn-type CoxZnyMnz (x + y + z = 20) alloys have recently attracted increasing attention as a new class of chiral magnets with skyrmions at and above room temperature. However, experimental studies on the transport properties of this material are scarce. In this work, we report the successful growth of the \b{eta}-Mn-type Co9.24Zn9.25Mn1.51 and Co9.02Zn9.18Mn1.80 single crystals and a systematic study on their magnetic and transport properties. The skyrmion phase was found in a small temperature range just below the Curie temperature. The isothermal ac susceptibility and dc magnetization as a function of magnetic field confirm the existence of the skyrmion phase. A negative linear magnetoresistance over a wide temperature range from 2 K to 380 K is observed and attributed to the suppression of the magnetic ordering fluctuation under high fields. Both the magnetization and electrical resistivity are almost isotropic. The quantitative analysis of the Hall resistance suggests that the anomalous Hall effect of Co9.24Zn9.25Mn1.51 and Co9.02Zn9.18Mn1.80 single crystals is dominated by the intrinsic mechanism. Our findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the properties of CoxZnyMnz (x + y + z = 20) alloys material and advance their application in spintronic devices.

The asymmetry between $C\!P$-odd and $C\!P$-even eigenstate decays into $K^-π^+$ is determined to be ${\cal A}_{Kπ} = 0.132 \pm 0.011 \pm 0.007$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This measurement is an update of an earlier study exploiting additional tagging modes, including several decay modes involving a $K^0_L$ meson. The branching fractions of the $K^0_L$ modes are determined as input to the analysis in a manner that is independent of any strong phase uncertainty. Using the predominantly $C\!P$-even tag $D\to π^+π^-π^0$ and the ensemble of $C\!P$-odd eigenstate tags, the observable ${\cal A}_{Kπ}^{πππ^0}$ is measured to be $0.130 \pm 0.012 \pm 0.008$. The two asymmetries are sensitive to $r_D^{Kπ} \cos δ_D^{Kπ}$, where $r_D^{Kπ}$ and $δ_D^{Kπ}$ are the ratio of amplitudes and phase difference, respectively, between the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed and Cabibbo-favoured decays. In addition, events containing $D \to K^-π^+$ tagged by $D \to K^0_{S,L} π^+π^-$ are studied in bins of phase space of the three-body decays. This analysis has sensitivity to both $r_D^{Kπ} \cos δ_D^{Kπ}$ and $r_D^{Kπ} \sin δ_D^{Kπ}$. A fit to ${\cal A}_{Kπ}$, ${\cal A}_{Kπ}^{πππ^0}$ and the phase-space distribution of the $D \to K^0_{S,L} π^+π^-$ tags yields $δ_D^{Kπ}= \left( 187.6 {^{+8.9}_{-9.7}}{^{+5.4}_{-6.4}} \right)$ degrees, where external constraints are applied for $r_D^{Kπ}$ and other relevant parameters. This is the most precise measurement of $δ_D^{Kπ}$ in quantum-correlated $D\bar{D}$ decays.

We report a branching fraction measurement of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay $Λ_{c}^{+}\toΛK^{+}$ using a data sample collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring. The data span center-of-mass energies from 4.599 to 4.950 GeV and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 6.44 fb$^{-1}$. The branching fraction of $Λ_{c}^{+}\toΛK^{+}$ relative to that of the Cabibbo-favored decay $Λ_{c}^{+}\toΛπ^{+}$ is measured to be $\mathcal{R}=\frac{\mathcal{B}(Λ_{c}^{+}\toΛK^{+})}{\mathcal{B}(Λ_{c}^{+}\toΛπ^{+})}=(4.78\pm0.34\pm0.20)\%$. Combining with the world-average value of $\mathcal{B}(Λ_{c}^{+}\toΛπ^{+})$, we obtain $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\toΛK^+)=(6.21\pm0.44\pm0.26\pm0.34)\times 10^{-4}$. Here the first uncertainties are statistical, the second systematic, and the third comes from the uncertainty of the $Λ_{c}^{+}\toΛπ^{+}$ branching fraction. This result, which is more precise than previous measurements, does not agree with theoretical predictions, and suggests that non-factorizable contributions have been under-estimated in current models.

Using data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, we measure the cross sections of the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}D^{+}D^{-}$ process at center-of-mass energies from 4.190 to 4.946 GeV with a partial reconstruction method. Two resonance structures are seen and the resonance parameters are determined from a fit to the cross section line shape. The first resonance we observe has a mass of (4373.1 $\pm$ 4.0 $\pm$ 2.2) MeV/$c^2$ and a width of (146.5 $\pm$ 7.4 $\pm$ 1.3) MeV, in agreement with those of the $Y(4390)$ state; the other resonance has a mass of (4706 $\pm$ 11 $\pm$ 4) MeV/$c^2$, a width of (45 $\pm$ 28 $\pm$ 9) MeV, and a statistical significance of $4.1$ standard deviations ($σ$). This is the first evidence for a vector state at this mass value. The spin-$3$ $D$-wave charmonium state $X(3842)$ is searched for through the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}X(3842)\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}D^{+}D^{-}$ process, and evidence with a significance of $4.2σ$ is found in the data samples with center-of-mass energies from 4.600 to 4.700 GeV.

While quantum computers provide exciting opportunities for information processing, they currently suffer from noise during computation that is not fully understood. Incomplete noise models have led to discrepancies between quantum program success rate (SR) estimates and actual machine outcomes. For example, the estimated probability of success (ESP) is the state-of-the-art metric used to gauge quantum program performance. The ESP suffers poor prediction since it fails to account for the unique combination of circuit structure, quantum state, and quantum computer properties specific to each program execution. Thus, an urgent need exists for a systematic approach that can elucidate various noise impacts and accurately and robustly predict quantum computer success rates, emphasizing application and device scaling. In this article, we propose quantum vulnerability analysis (QVA) to systematically quantify the error impact on quantum applications and address the gap between current success rate (SR) estimators and real quantum computer results. The QVA determines the cumulative quantum vulnerability (CQV) of the target quantum computation, which quantifies the quantum error impact based on the entire algorithm applied to the target quantum machine. By evaluating the CQV with well-known benchmarks on three 27-qubit quantum computers, the CQV success estimation outperforms the estimated probability of success state-of-the-art prediction technique by achieving on average six times less relative prediction error, with best cases at 30 times, for benchmarks with a real SR rate above 0.1%. Direct application of QVA has been provided that helps researchers choose a promising compiling strategy at compile time.

Furthermore, we perform an investigation of the internal dynamics in $Λ_c^+\rightarrow Λe^+ν_e$. We provide the first direct comparisons of the differential decay rate and form factors with those predicted from lattice quantum chromodynamics (LQCD) calculations. Combining the measured branching fraction with a $q^2$-integrated rate predicted by LQCD, we determine $|V_{cs}|=0.936\pm0.017_{\mathcal{B}}\pm0.024_{\rm LQCD}\pm0.007_{τ_{Λ_c}}$.

We also report evidence of $Λ_c^+\rightarrow Λ(1520)e^+ν_e$ and $Λ_c^+\rightarrow Λ(1405)e^+ν_e$ with significances of $3.3σ$ and $3.2σ$, respectively, and measure $\mathcal B(Λ^+_c\rightarrow Λ(1520)e^+ν_e)=(1.02\pm0.52_{\rm stat.}\pm0.11_{\rm syst.})\times10^{-3}$ and $\mathcal B(Λ^+_c\rightarrow Λ(1405)[\rightarrow pK^-]e^+ν_e)=(0.42\pm0.19_{\rm stat.}\pm0.04_{\rm syst.})\times10^{-3}$. Fe$_5$GeTe$_2$ (n = 3, 4, 5) have recently attracted increasing attention due to their two-dimensional van der Waals characteristic and high temperature ferromagnetism, which make promises for spintronic devices. The Fe(1) split site is one important structural characteristic of Fe$_5$GeTe$_2$ which makes it very different from other Fe$_5$GeTe$_2$ (n = 3, 4) systems. The local atomic disorder and short-range order can be induced by the split site. In this work, the high-quality van der Waals ferromagnet Fe$_5$GeTe$_2$ were grown to study the low-temperature transport properties. We found a resistivity upturn below 10 K. The temperature and magnetic field dependence of the resistivity are in good agreement with a combination of the theory of disorder-enhanced three-dimensional electron-electron and single-channel Kondo effect. The Kondo effect exists only at low magnetic field B < 3 T, while electron-electron dominates the appearance for the low-temperature resistivity upturn. We believe that the enhanced three-dimensional electron-electron interaction in this system is induced by the local atomic structural disorder due to the split site of Fe(1). Our results indicate that the split site of Fe plays an important role for the exceptional transport properties.

We study the extensions of two left modules $W_1, W_2$ for a meromorphic open-string vertex algebra $V$. We show that the extensions satisfying some technical but natural convergence conditions are in bijective correspondence to the first cohomology classes associated to the $V$-bimodule $\mathcal{H}_N(W_1, W_2)$ constructed in \cite{HQ-Red}. When $V$ is grading-restricted and contains a nice vertex subalgebra $V_0$, those convergence conditions hold automatically. In addition, we show that the dimension of $\text{Ext}^1(W_1, W_2)$ is bounded above by the fusion rule $N\binom{W_2}{VW_1}$ in the category of $V_0$-modules. In particular, if the fusion rule is finite, then $\text{Ext}^1(W_1, W_2)$ is finite-dimensional. We also give an example of an abelian category consisting of certain modules of the Virasoro VOA that does not contain any nice subalgebras, while the convergence conditions hold for every object.

Evidence for a structure at $π^+π^-$ mass threshold is observed in the invariant mass spectrum of $π^0π^0$ with a statistical significance of around $3.5σ$, which is consistent with the cusp effect as predicted by the nonrelativistic effective field theory. After introducing the amplitude for describing the cusp effect, the $ππ$ scattering length combination $a_0-a_2$ is determined to be $\rm 0.226\pm0.060_{stat}\pm0.013_{syst}$, which is in good agreement with theoretical calculation of $0.2644\pm0.0051$.

By a simultaneous fit to the measured, center-of-mass energy dependent cross sections of the two processes, the combined quantities $Γ_{ee} Γ_{ee} / Γ_{\rm tot}$ and $Γ_{ee} Γ_{μμ} / Γ_{\rm tot}$ are determined to be ($0.346 \pm 0.009$) and ($0.335 \pm 0.006$) keV, respectively, where $Γ_{ee}$, $Γ_{μμ}$, and $Γ_{\rm tot}$ are the electronic, muonic, and total decay widths of the $J/ψ$ resonance, respectively. Using the resultant $Γ_{ee} Γ_{μμ} / Γ_{\rm tot}$ and $Γ_{ee} Γ_{ee} / Γ_{\rm tot}$, the ratio $Γ_{ee} / Γ_{μμ}$ is calculated to be $1.031 \pm 0.015$, which is consistent with the expectation of lepton universality within about two standard deviations. Assuming lepton universality and using the branching fraction of the $J/ψ$ leptonic decay measured by BESIII in 2013, $Γ_{\rm tot}$ and $Γ_{ll}$ are determined to be ($93.0 \pm 2.1$) and ($5.56 \pm 0.11$) keV, respectively, where $Γ_{ll}$ is the average leptonic decay width of the $J/ψ$ resonance.

In recent years, the Thermal Image Super-Resolution (TISR) problem has become an attractive research topic. TISR would been used in a wide range of fields, including military, medical, agricultural and animal ecology. Due to the success of PBVS-2020 and PBVS-2021 workshop challenge, the result of TISR keeps improving and attracts more researchers to sign up for PBVS-2022 challenge. In this paper, we will introduce the technical details of our submission to PBVS-2022 challenge designing a Bilateral Network with Channel Splitting Network and Transformer(BN-CSNT) to tackle the TISR problem. Firstly, we designed a context branch based on channel splitting network with transformer to obtain sufficient context information. Secondly, we designed a spatial branch with shallow transformer to extract low level features which can preserve the spatial information. Finally, for the context branch in order to fuse the features from channel splitting network and transformer, we proposed an attention refinement module, and then features from context branch and spatial branch are fused by proposed feature fusion module. The proposed method can achieve PSNR=33.64, SSIM=0.9263 for x4 and PSNR=21.08, SSIM=0.7803 for x2 in the PBVS-2022 challenge test dataset.

The referring video object segmentation task (RVOS) aims to segment object instances in a given video referred by a language expression in all video frames. Due to the requirement of understanding cross-modal semantics within individual instances, this task is more challenging than the traditional semi-supervised video object segmentation where the ground truth object masks in the first frame are given. With the great achievement of Transformer in object detection and object segmentation, RVOS has been made remarkable progress where ReferFormer achieved the state-of-the-art performance. In this work, based on the strong baseline framework--ReferFormer, we propose several tricks to boost further, including cyclical learning rates, semi-supervised approach, and test-time augmentation inference. The improved ReferFormer ranks 2nd place on CVPR2022 Referring Youtube-VOS Challenge.

This is the first measurement of the relative phase for a $ψ(3686)$ decay into a pair of $Ξ^{-}\barΞ^{+}$ hyperons. Two structures, identified as the $Y(4220)$ and the $Y(4320)$ states, are observed in the energy-dependent cross section with a significance larger than $10σ$. The masses and widths of the two structures are determined to be ($M, Γ$) = ($4221.4\pm1.5\pm2.0$ MeV/$c^{2}$, $41.8\pm2.9\pm2.7$ MeV) and ($M, Γ$) = ($4298\pm12\pm26$ MeV/$c^{2}$, $127\pm17\pm10$ MeV), respectively. A small enhancement around 4.5 GeV with a significance about $3σ$, compatible with the $ψ(4415)$, might also indicate the presence of an additional resonance in the spectrum. The inclusion of this additional contribution in the fit to the cross section affects the resonance parameters of the $Y(4320)$ state.

The first amplitude analysis of $D_{s}^{+} \to K^+π^{+}π^{-}π^{0}$ reveals the sub-structures in this decay and determines the fractions and relative phases of different intermediate processes. The dominant intermediate process is $D_s^+ \to K^{*0}ρ^+$, with a fit fraction of $(40.5\pm2.8_{\rm{stat.}}\pm1.5_{\rm{syst.}})\%$. With the detection efficiency based on our amplitude analysis, the absolute branching fraction for $D_{s}^{+} \to K^+π^{+}π^{-}π^{0}$ is measured to be $(9.75\pm0.54_{\rm{stat.}}\pm0.17_{\rm{syst.}})\times 10^{-3}$.

We present the detection potential for the diffuse supernova neutrino background (DSNB) at the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), using the inverse-beta-decay (IBD) detection channel on free protons. We employ the latest information on the DSNB flux predictions, and investigate in detail the background and its reduction for the DSNB search at JUNO. The atmospheric neutrino induced neutral current (NC) background turns out to be the most critical background, whose uncertainty is carefully evaluated from both the spread of model predictions and an envisaged \textit{in situ} measurement. We also make a careful study on the background suppression with the pulse shape discrimination (PSD) and triple coincidence (TC) cuts. With latest DSNB signal predictions, more realistic background evaluation and PSD efficiency optimization, and additional TC cut, JUNO can reach the significance of 3$σ$ for 3 years of data taking, and achieve better than 5$σ$ after 10 years for a reference DSNB model. In the pessimistic scenario of non-observation, JUNO would strongly improve the limits and exclude a significant region of the model parameter space.

Its key feature is an excellent energy resolution of at least 3 % at 1 MeV, for which its instruments need to meet a certain quality and thus have to be fully characterized. More than 20,000 20-inch PMTs have been received and assessed by JUNO after a detailed testing program which began in 2017 and elapsed for about four years. Based on this mass characterization and a set of specific requirements, a good quality of all accepted PMTs could be ascertained. This paper presents the performed testing procedure with the designed testing systems as well as the statistical characteristics of all 20-inch PMTs intended to be used in the JUNO experiment, covering more than fifteen performance parameters including the photocathode uniformity. This constitutes the largest sample of 20-inch PMTs ever produced and studied in detail to date, i.e. 15,000 of the newly developed 20-inch MCP-PMTs from Northern Night Vision Technology Co. (NNVT) and 5,000 of dynode PMTs from Hamamatsu Photonics K. K.(HPK).

This is the highest collision energy BEPCII has reached so far. The accumulated $e^+e^-$ annihilation data samples are useful for studying charmonium(-like) states and charmed-hadron decays. By adopting a novel method of analyzing the production of $Λ_{c}^{+}\barΛ_{c}^{-}$ pairs in $e^+e^-$ annihilation, the center-of-mass energies are measured with a precision of $\sim$0.6 MeV. Integrated luminosities are measured with a precision of better than 1\% by analyzing the events of large-angle Bhabha scattering. These measurements provide important inputs to the analyses based on these data samples.

Based on a partial reconstruction technique, we find evidence of a structure near the thresholds for $D_s^+D^{*-}$ and $D_s^{*+}D^{-}$ production in the $K^{0}_{\rm S}$ recoil-mass spectrum, which we refer to as the $ Z_{cs}(3985)^0$. Fitting with a Breit-Wigner line shape, we find the mass of the structure to be $(3992.2\pm{1.7}\pm{1.6})~\rm{MeV}/c^2$ and the width to be $(7.7_{-3.8}^{+4.1}\pm{4.3})~\rm{MeV}$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The significance of the $ Z_{cs}(3985)^0$ signal is found to be $4.6σ$ including both the statistical and systematic uncertainty. We report the Born cross section multiplied by the branching fraction at different energy points. The mass of the $Z_{cs}(3985)^0$ is close to that of the $Z_{cs}(3985)^+$. Assuming SU(3) symmetry, the cross section of the neutral channel is consistent with that of the charged one. Hence, we conclude that the $Z_{cs}(3985)^0$ is the isospin partner of the $Z_{cs}(3985)^+$.

It is found that the $Δm^2_{31}$, $Δm^2_{21}$, and $\sin^2 θ_{12}$ oscillation parameters will be determined to better than 0.5% precision in six years of data collection, which represents approximately an order of magnitude improvement over existing constraints.

With a five-dimensional fit to the full angular distributions of the daughter baryon, the most precise values for the decay parameters are determined to be $α_{-} = 0.7519 \pm 0.0036 \pm 0.0024$ and $α_{+} = -0.7559 \pm 0.0036 \pm 0.0030$, respectively. The $Λ$ and $\barΛ$ averaged value of the decay parameter is extracted to be $α_{\rm{avg}} = 0.7542 \pm 0.0010 \pm 0.0024$ with unprecedented accuracy. The $CP$ asymmetry $A_{CP}=(α_{-}+α_{+})/(α_{-}-α_{+})$ is determined to be $-0.0025 \pm 0.0046 \pm 0.0012$, which is one of the most precise measurements in the baryon sector. The reported results for the decay parameter will play an important role in the studies of the polarizations and $CP$ violations for the strange, charmed and beauty baryons.

The central task in the study of self-organization is to explore the general mechanism of emergences. However, this is inhibited by the missing of a full knowledge of the microscopic dynamics of emergence. Here, in this study, the microscopic dynamics of self-organization for patterns is investigated and quantified in a periodically propelled Quincke system. The periodical coupling between propulsion and repulsion at the particle level leads to local directed oscillating particle flows and promises a loop of positive feedback to density fluctuations. Nevertheless, the global evolution of the resulting cluster phase is dominated by a global dual transformation. As stable attractors of the dual transformation, self-dual patterns including stripe patterns and square lattices can be achieved by tuning the strength and the frequency of propelling. However, stripes are possible only at strong propelling where boundary particle flows can form. The findings in this study show that the dynamics of emergence on different length scales are controlled by different mechanisms. The competition and the interplay between different microscopic dynamic processes play the central role in determining the product of emergence. Moreover, the periodically oscillating self-dual patterns demonstrate a classical approach to time crystals.

Vanadium dioxide (VO2) exhibits an insulator-to-metal transition accompanied by a structural transition near room temperature. This transition can be triggered by an ultrafast laser pulse. Exotic transient states, such as a metallic state without structural transition, were also proposed. These unique characteristics let VO2 have great potential in thermal switchable devices and photonic applications. Although great efforts have been made, the atomic pathway during the photoinduced phase transition is still not clear. Here, we synthesized freestanding quasi-single-crystal VO2 films and examined their photoinduced structural phase transition with mega-electron-volt ultrafast electron diffraction. Leveraging the high signal-to-noise ratio and high temporal resolution, we observe that the disappearance of vanadium dimers and zigzag chains does not coincide with the transformation of crystal symmetry. After photoexcitation, the initial structure is strongly modified within 200 femtoseconds, resulting in a transient monoclinic structure without vanadium dimers and zigzag chains. Then, it continues to evolve to the final tetragonal structure in approximately 5 picoseconds. In addition, only one laser fluence threshold instead of two thresholds suggested in polycrystalline samples was observed in our quasi-single-crystal samples. Our findings provide new essential information for a comprehensive understanding of the photoinduced ultrafast phase transition in VO2.

In linguistics, a sememe is defined as the minimum semantic unit of languages. Sememe knowledge bases (KBs), which are built by manually annotating words with sememes, have been successfully applied to various NLP tasks. However, existing sememe KBs only cover a few languages, which hinders the wide utilization of sememes. To address this issue, the task of sememe prediction for BabelNet synsets (SPBS) is presented, aiming to build a multilingual sememe KB based on BabelNet, a multilingual encyclopedia dictionary. By automatically predicting sememes for a BabelNet synset, the words in many languages in the synset would obtain sememe annotations simultaneously. However, previous SPBS methods have not taken full advantage of the abundant information in BabelNet. In this paper, we utilize the multilingual synonyms, multilingual glosses and images in BabelNet for SPBS. We design a multimodal information fusion model to encode and combine this information for sememe prediction. Experimental results show the substantial outperformance of our model over previous methods (about 10 MAP and F1 scores). All the code and data of this paper can be obtained at https://github.com/thunlp/MSGI.
