An inverse problem for a semi-linear wave equation: a numerical study
Abstract: We consider an inverse problem of recovering a potential associated to a semi-linear wave equation with a quadratic nonlinearity in $1 + 1$ dimensions. We develop a numerical scheme to determine the potential from a noisy Dirichlet-to-Neumann map on the lateral boundary. The scheme is based on the recent higher order linearization method [20]. We also present an approach to numerically estimating… ▽ More

Fixed angle inverse scattering for sound speeds close to constant
Abstract: We study the fixed angle inverse scattering problem of determining a sound speed from scattering measurements corresponding to a single incident wave. The main result shows that a sound speed close to constant can be stably determined by just one measurement. Our method is based on studying the linearized problem, which turns out to be related to the acoustic problem in photoacoustic imaging. We a… ▽ More

Stability estimates for inverse problems for semi-linear wave equations on Lorentzian manifolds
Abstract: This paper concerns an inverse boundary value problem of recovering a zeroth order time-dependent term of a semi-linear wave equation on a globally hyperbolic Lorentzian manifold. We show that an unknown potential $q$ in the non-linear wave equation $\square_g u +q u^m=0$, $m\geq 4$, can be recovered in a Hölder stable way from the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map. Our proof is based on the higher order l… ▽ More

The fixed angle scattering problem with a first order perturbation
Abstract: We study the inverse scattering problem of determining a magnetic field and electric potential from scattering measurements corresponding to finitely many plane waves. The main result shows that the coefficients are uniquely determined by $2n$ measurements up to a natural gauge. We also show that one can recover the full first order term for a related equation having no gauge invariance, and that… ▽ More

Stability estimates for the magnetic Schrödinger operator with partial measurements
Abstract: In this article, we study stability estimates when recovering magnetic fields and electric potentials in a simply connected open subset in $R^n$ with $n \geq 3$, from measurements on open subsets of its boundary. This inverse problem is associated with a magnetic Schrödinger operator. Our estimates are quantitative versions of the uniqueness results obtained by D. Dos Santos Ferreira, C. E. Kenig,… ▽ More

Uniqueness and stability of an inverse problem for a semi-linear wave equation
Abstract: We consider the recovery of a potential associated with a semi-linear wave equation on $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$, $n\geq 1$. We show a Hölder stability estimate for the recovery of an unknown potential $a$ of the wave equation $\square u +a u^m=0$ from its Dirichlet-to-Neumann map. We show that an unknown potential $a(x,t)$, supported in $Ω\times[t_1,t_2]$, of the wave equation $\square u +a u^m=0$ can b… ▽ More

Resolvent estimates for the magnetic Schrödinger operator in dimension $n \geq 2$
Abstract: It is well known that the resolvent of the free Schrödinger operator on weighted $L^2$ spaces has norm decaying like $λ^{-\frac{1}{2}}$ at energy $λ$. There are several works proving analogous high-frequency estimates for magnetic Schrödinger operators, with large long or short range potentials, in dimensions $n \geq 3$. We prove that the same estimates remain valid in all dimensions $n \geq 2$.

Optimal stability estimates for a Magnetic Schrödinger operator with local data
Abstract: In this paper we prove identifiability and stability estimates for a local-data inverse boundary value problem for a magnetic Schrödinger operator in dimension $n\geq 3$. We assume that the inaccessible part of the boundary is part of a hyperplane. We improve the identifiability result obtained by Krupchyck, Lassas and Uhlmann [14] and also derive the corresponding stability estimates. We obtain… ▽ More

Stability estimates for a Magnetic Schrodinger operator with partial data
Abstract: In this paper we study local stability estimates for a magnetic Schrödinger operator with partial data on an open bounded set in dimension $n\geq 3$. This is the corresponding stability estimates for the identifiability result obtained by Bukgheim and Uhlmann $[2]$ in the presence of magnetic field and when the measurements for the Dirichlet-Neumann map are taken on a neighborhood of the illuminat… ▽ More
