Spontaneous fission of 252Cf and fusion-induced fission of 250Cf are investigated within a multi-dimensional Langevin model. The potential-energy surface is calculated in the macroscopic-microscopic LSD+Yukawa-folded approach using the four-dimensional Fourier-over-Spheroid shape parametrization. The dynamical evolution described by the Langevin equation is coupled to neutron evaporation, thereby allowing for the possibility of multi-chance fission. Charge equilibration and excitation-energy sharing between the fragments emerging at scission are evaluated, and their de-excitation is finally computed. The correlation between various observables, particularly the isotopic properties of the fragments, is discussed and compared with the experiment whenever available. The theoretical predictions are generally in good agreement with the data.

The neutron rich neck zone created in heavy ion reaction is experimentally probed by the production of the $A=3$ isobars. The energy spectra and angular distributions of triton and $^3$He are measured with the CSHINE detector in $^{86}$Kr +$^{208}$Pb reactions at 25 MeV/u. While the energy spectrum of $^{3}$He is harder than that of triton, known as "$^{3}$He-puzzle", the yield ratio $R({\rm t/^3He})$ presents a robust rising trend with the polar angle in laboratory. Using the fission fragments to reconstruct the fission plane, the enhancement of out-plane $R({\rm t/^3He})$ is confirmed in comparison to the in-plane ratios. Transport model simulations reproduce qualitatively the experimental trends, but the quantitative agreement is not achieved. The results demonstrate that a neutron rich neck zone is formed in the reactions. Further studies are called for to understand the clustering and the isospin dynamics related to neck formation.

The analog electronic computers are a type of circuitry used to calculate specific problems using the physical relationships between the voltages and currents following classical laws of physics. One specific class of these circuits are computers based on the interactions between passive circuit elements. Models presented by G.Kron in 1945 are the example of using such passive elements to construct a solver for the problem of free quantum particles confined by rectangular potential. Numerical validation of Kron second model is conducted for different shapes of particle confining potential. Model introduced by Kron is generalized by introduction of non-linear resistive elements what implies deformation of Schrödinger equation solution into Ginzburg-Landau form.

Classical stochastic Conway Game of Life is expressed by the dissipative Schrödinger equation and dissipative tight-binding model. This is conducted at the prize of usage of time dependent anomalous non-Hermitian Hamiltonians as with occurrence of complex value potential that do not preserve the normalization of wave-function and thus allows for mimicking creationism or annihilationism of cellular automaton. Simply saying time-dependent complex value eigenenergies are similar to complex values of resonant frequencies in electromagnetic resonant cavities reflecting presence of dissipation that reflects energy leaving the system or being pumped into the system. At the same time various aspects of thermodynamics were observed in cellular automata that can be later reformulated by quantum mechanical pictures. The usage of Shannon entropy and mass equivalence to energy points definition of cellular automata temperature. Contrary to intuitive statement the system dynamical equilibrium is always reflected by negative temperatures. Diffusion of mass, energy and temperature as well as phase of proposed wave function is reported and can be directly linked with second thermodynamics law approximately valid for the system, where neither mass nor energy is conserved. The concept of complex-valued mass mimics wave-function behavior. Equivalence an anomalous second Fick law and dissipative Schrödinger equation is given. Dissipative Conway Game of Life tight-binding Hamiltonian is given using phenomenological justification.

Starting from Schroedinger approach by change of term V(x)-E with term $α(x)+β(x)|ψ(x)|^2$ we arrived at the Ginzburg-Landau equation. In the presented relaxation algorithm we use one and two dimensional ground energy solutions of Schroedinger equation and placed them as starting trial solution for GL relaxation method. In consecutive steps we increase the nonlinear term in the GL equation which results in achieving a stable approach of solution of GL equation. The obtained numerical results and used methodology form simulation platform bases for study of superconducting integrated structures that can model various superconducting devices. Cellular automata can simulate many complex physical phenomena using the power of simple rules. The presented methodological platform expresses the concept of programmable matter in which Newtons laws of motion are one of examples. Energy has been introduced as the equivalent of the Game of Life mass, which can be treated as first level of approximation. The temperature presence and propagation was calculated for various lattice topology and boundary conditions by using the Shannon entropy measure. The conducted study provides strong evidence that despite not fulfillment the principle of mass and energy conservation, the entropy, mass distribution and temperatures approaches thermodynamic equilibrium. In addition, the described cellular automata system transits from positive to a negative temperatures that stabilizes and can be treated as a signature of system dynamical equilibrium. Furthermore the system dynamics was presented in case of few species of cellular automata competing for maximum presence on given lattice with different boundary conditions.

While the velocity spectra of both triton and $^3$He exhibit scaling behavior over the type of the heavy clusters, the yield ratios of ${\rm t/^3He}$ correlate reversely to the neutron-to-proton ratio $N/Z$ of the latter, showing the **-pong modality of the $N/Z$ of emitted clusters. The commonality that the $N/Z$ of the residues keeps the initial system value is extended to the cluster emission in heavy ion reactions. The mathematical equivalence between finite state stochastic machine and non-dissipative and dissipative quantum tight-binding and Schroedinger model is derived. Stochastic Finite state machine is also expressed by classical epidemic model and can reproduce the quantum entanglement emerging in the case of electrostatically coupled qubits described by von-Neumann entropy both in non-dissipative and dissipative case. The obtained results shows that quantum mechanical phenomena might be simulated by classical statistical model as represented by finite state stochastic machine. It includes the quantum like entanglement and superposition of states. Therefore coupled epidemic models expressed by classical systems in terms of classical physics can be the base for possible incorporation of quantum technologies and in particular for quantum like computation and quantum like communication. The classical density matrix is derived and described by the equation of motion in terms of anticommutator. Existence of Rabi like oscillations is pointed in classical epidemic model. Furthermore the existence of Aharonov-Bohm effect in quantum systems can also be reproduced by the classical epidemic model or in broader sense by finite state stochastic machine. Every quantum system made from quantum dots and described by simplistic tight-binding model by use of position-based qubits can be effectively described by classical statistical model encoded in finite stochastic state machine with very specific structure of S matrix that has twice bigger size as it is the case of quantum matrix Hamiltonian. Furthermore the description of linear and non-linear stochastic finite state machine is mapped to tight-binding and Schroedinger model. The concept of N dimensional complex time is incorporated into tight-binding model, so the description of dissipation in most general case is possible.

A very rapidly converging analytical Fourier-type shape parametrization is used to describe nuclear shapes throughout the periodic table, including those of fissioning nuclei. The Lublin Strasbourg Drop and another effective liquid-drop type mass formula are used to determine the macroscopic part of nuclear energy. The evaluated nuclear binding energies, fission-barrier heights, and Q-alpha energies show a relatively good agreement with the experimental data. The broadening of both the velocity distribution and the azimuthal difference of the fission fragments decrease with the folding angle, in accordance with the picture that fast fission occurs. Derivation of tight-binding model from Schroedinger formalism for various topologies of position-based semiconductor qubits is presented in this work in case of static and time-dependent electric fields. Simplistic tight-binding model allows for description of single-electron devices at large integration scale. The case of two electrostatically Wannier qubits (that are also known as position based qubits) in Schroedinger model is presented with omission spin degrees of freedom. The concept of programmable quantum matter can be implemented in the chain of coupled semiconductor quantum dots. Indeed highly integrated and developed cryogenic CMOS nanostructures can be mapped to coupled quantum dots, whose connectivity can be controlled by voltage applied across transistor gates as well as external magnetic field. Using anti-correlation principle arising from Coulomb repulsion interaction between electrons one can implement classical and quantum inverter (Classical/Quantum Swap gate) and many other logical gates. This anti-correlation will be weaken due to the fact of quantumness of physical process is bringing coexistence of correlation and anti-correlation at the same time. One of the central results presented in this work relies on the emergence of dissipation processes during smooth bending of semiconductor nanowires both in the case of classical and quantum picture. We observe strong localization of wave-packet due to nanowire bending. The obtained results can be mapped to problem of electron in curved space, so they can be expressed by programmable position-dependent metric embedded in Schroedinger equation. Indeed semiconductor quantum dot system is capable of mimicking the curved space what provides bridge between fundamental and applied science present in implementation of single-electron devices.

The experiment of Ar+Au reactions at 30 MeV/u have been performed using the Compact Spectrometer for Heavy IoN Experiments (CSHINE) in phase I. The light-charged particles are measured by the silicon stripe telescopes in coincidence with the fission fragments recorded by the parallel plate avalanche counters. The distribution properties of the azimuth difference $Δφ$ and the time-of-flight difference $ΔTOF$ of the fission fragments are presented varying the folding angles which represents the linear momentum transfer from the projectile to the reaction system. The relative abundance of the light charged particles in the fission events to the inclusive events is compared as a function of the laboratory angle $θ_{\rm lab}$ ranging from $18^\circ$ to $60^\circ$ in various folding angle windows. The angular evolution of the yield ratios of p/d and t/d in coincidence with fission fragments is investigated. In a relative comparison, tritons are more abundantly emitted at small angles, while protons are more abundant at large angles. The angular evolution of the neutron richness of the light-charged particles is consistent with the results obtained in previous inclusive experiments.

In addition, the non-axial degree of freedom is taken into account to describe better the form of nuclei around the ground state and in the saddles region. Apart from the symmetric fission valley, a new very asymmetric fission mode is predicted in most superheavy nuclei. Justification of tight-binding model from Schroedinger formalism for various topologies of position-based semiconductor qubits is presented in this work. Simplistic tight-binding model allows for description of single-electron devices at large integration scale. However it is due to the fact that tight-binding model omits the integro-differential equations that arise from electron-electron interaction in Schroedinger model. Two approaches are given in derivation of tight-binding model from Schroedinger equation. First approach is conducted by usage of Green functions obtained from Schroedinger equation. Second approach is given by usage of Taylor expansion applied to Schroedinger equation. The obtained results can be extended for the case of many Wannier qubits with more than one electron and can be applied to 2 and 3 dimensional model. Furthermore various correlation functions are proposed in Schroedinger formalism that can account for static and time-dependent electric and magnetic field polarizing given Wannier qubit system. The equivalence between classical epidemic model and nondissipative and dissipative quantum tight-binding model is derived. Classical epidemic model can reproduce the quantum entanglement emerging in the case of electrostatically coupled qubits described by von-Neumann entropy both in non-dissipative and dissipative case. The obtained results shows that quantum mechanical phenomena might be almost entirely simulated by classical statistical model. Furthermore the existence of Aharonov-Bohm effect in quantum systems can also be reproduced by the classical epidemic model. Every quantum system made from quantum dots and described by simplistic tight-binding model by use of position-based qubits can be effectively described by classical model with very specific structure of S matrix that has twice bigger size as it is the case of quantum matrix Hamiltonian. Obtained results partly question fundamental and unique character of quantum mechanics and are placing ontology of quantum mechanics much in the framework of classical statistical physics what can bring motivation for emergence of other fundamental theories bringing suggestion that quantum mechanical is only effective and phenomenological but not fundamental picture of reality.

Fundamental properties of two electrostatically interacting single-electron lines (SEL) are determined from a minimalistic tight-binding model. The lines are represented by a chain of coupled quantum wells that could be implemented in a mainstream nanoscale CMOS process technology and tuned electrostatically by DC or AC voltage biases. The obtained results show an essential qualitative difference with two capacitively coupled classical electrical lines. The derived equations and their solutions prove that the two coupled SET lines can create an entanglement between electrons. The results indicate a possibility of constructing electrostatic (non-spin) coupled qubits that could be used as building blocks in a CMOS quantum computer.

The fission-fragment mass and total kinetic energy (TKE) distributions are evaluated in a quantum mechanical framework using elongation, mass asymmetry, neck degree of freedom as the relevant collective parameters in the Fourier shape parametrization recently developed by us. The potential energy surfaces (PES) are calculated within the macroscopic-microscopic model based on the Lublin-Strasbourg Drop (LSD), the Yukawa-folded (YF) single-particle potential and a monopole pairing force. The PES are presented and analysed in detail for even-even Plutonium isotopes with $A=236 -246$. They reveal deep asymmetric valleys. The fission-fragment mass and TKE distributions are obtained from the ground state of a collective Hamiltonian computed within the Born-Oppenheimer approximation, in the WKB approach by introducing a neck-dependent fission probability. The calculated mass and total kinetic energydistributions are found in good agreement with the data.

The potential-energy surfaces of an extended set of heavy and super-heavy even-even nuclei with $92 \le Z \le 126$ and isospins $40 \le N-Z \le 74$ are evaluated within the recently developed Fourier shape parametrization. Ground-state and decay properties are studied for 324 different even-even isotopes in a four-dimensional deformation space, defined by non-axiality, quadrupole, octupole, and hexadecapole degrees of freedom. Nuclear deformation energies are evaluated in the framework of the macroscopic-microscopic approach, with the Lublin-Strasbourg-Drop model and a Yukawa-folded mean-field potential. The evolution of the ground-state equilibrium shape (and possible isomeric, metastable states) is studied as a function of $Z$ and $N$. Alpha-decay $Q$-values and half-lives, as well as fission-barrier heights, are deduced. In order to understand the transition from asymmetric to symmetric fission along the Fm isotopic chain, the properties of all identified fission paths are investigated. Good agreement is found with experimental data wherever available. New interesting features about the population of different fission modes for nuclei beyond Fm are predicted.

The fission-fragments mass-yield of 236U is obtained by an approximate solution of the eigenvalue problem of the collective Hamiltonian that describes the dynamics of the fission process whose degrees of freedom are: the fission (elongation), the neck and the mass-asymmetry mode. The macroscopic-microscopic method is used to evaluate the potential energy surface. The macroscopic energy part is calculated using the liquid drop model and the microscopic corrections are obtained using the Woods-Saxon single-particle levels. The four dimensional modified Cassini ovals shape parametrization is used to describe the shape of the fissioning nucleus. The mass tensor is taken within the cranking-type approximation. The final fragment mass distribution is obtained by weighting the adiabatic density distribution in the collective space with the neck-dependent fission probability. The neck degree of freedom is found to play a significant role in determining that final fragment mass distribution.

Upon increasing significantly the nuclear elongation, the beta-decay energy grows. This paper investigates within a simple yet partly microscopic approach, the transition rate of the beta decay of the 252Cf nucleus on the way to scission from the exit point for a spontaneous fission process. A rather crude classical approximation is made for the corresponding damped collective motion assumed to be one dimensional. Given these assumptions, we only aim in this paper at providing the order of magnitudes of such a phenomenon. At each deformation the energy available for beta decay, is determined from such a dynamical treatment. Then, for a given elongation, transition rates for the allowed (Fermi) beta decay are calculated from pair correlated wave functions obtained within a macroscopic-microscopic approach and then integrated over the time corresponding to the whole descent from exit to scission. The results are presented as a function of the dam** factor (inverse of the characteristic dam** time) in use in our classical dynamical approach. For instance, in the case of a descent time from the exit to the scission points of about $10^{- 20}$ second, one finds a total rate of beta decay corresponding roughly to 20 events per year and per milligram of 252Cf. The inclusion of pairing correlations does not affect much these results.

The shell correction method is revisited. Contrary to the traditional Strutinsky method, the shell energy is evaluated by an averaging over the number of particles and not over the single-particle energies, which is more consistent with the definition of the macroscopic energy. In addition, the smooth background is subtracted before averaging the sum of single-particle energies, which significantly improves the plateau condition and allows to apply the method also for nuclei close to the proton or neutron drip lines. A significant difference between the shell correction energy obtained with the traditional and the new method is found in particular for highly degenerated single-particle spectra (as i.e. in magic nuclei) while for deformed nuclei (where the degeneracy is lifted to a large extent) both estimates are close, except in the region of super or hyper-deformed states.

The radius of the metal core and the thickness of the insulating surface layer are of the order of a couple of angstroems. We study in particular the electromagnetic decay of externally located electrons into unoccupied internally located states which exhibits a resonance behaviour. This resonance structure has the consequence that the lifetime of the `mesoscopic atoms' may vary by up to 6 orders of magnitude depending on the values of the parameters (from sec to years).

The gamma-rays from the decay of the GDR in 46Ti compound nucleus formed in the 18O+28Si reaction at bombarding energy 105 MeV have been measured in an experiment using a setup consisting of the combined EUROBALL IV, HECTOR and EUCLIDES arrays. A comparison of the extracted GDR lineshape data with the predictions of the thermal shape fluctuation model shows evidence for the Jacobi shape transition in hot 46Ti. In addition to the previously found broad structure in the GDR lineshape region at 18-27 MeV caused by large deformations, the presence of a low energy component (around 10 MeV), due to the Coriolis splitting in prolate well deformed shape, has been identified for the first time.

Abstract:
Fusion barriers are determined in the framework of the Skyrme energy-density functional together with the semi-classical approach known as the Extended Thomas-Fermi method. The barriers obtained in this way with the Skyrme interaction SkM* turn out to be close to those generated by phenomenological models like those using the proximity potentials. The barriers obtained in this way with the Skyrme interaction SkM* turn out to be close to those generated by phenomenological models like those using the proximity potentials. It is also shown that the location and the structure of the fusion barrier in the vicinity of its maximum and beyond can be quite accurately described by a simple analytical form depending only on the masses and the relative isospin of target and projectile nucleus.

Abstract:
The gamma-rays following the reaction 105 MeV 18O + 28Si have been measured using the EUROBALL IV, HECTOR and EUCLIDES arrays in order to investigate the predicted Jacobi shape transition. The high-energy gamma-ray spectrum from the GDR decay indicates a presence of large deformations in hot 46Ti nucleus, in agreement with new theoretical calculations based on the Rotating Liquid Drop model.

To follow the dynamical evolution of an excited and rotating nucleus we solve a 2-dimensional Langevin equation taking explicitly light-particle evaporation into account. The confrontation theory-experiment is demonstrated to give interesting information on the model presented, its qualities as well as its shortcomings.

Abstract:
Nuclear liquid drop model is revisited and an explicit introduction of the surface-curvature terms is presented. Nuclear liquid drop model is revisited and an explicit introduction of the surface-curvature terms is presented. The corresponding parameters of the extended classical energy formula are adjusted to the contemporarily known nuclear binding energies and fission barrier heights. Using 2766 binding energies of nuclei with $Z\geq 8$ and $N\geq 8$ it is shown that the performance of the new approach is improved by a factor of about 6, compared to the previously published liquid drop model results, in terms of both the masses (new r.m.s. deviation $<δM> = 0.698$ MeV) and the fission barriers (new r.m.s. deviation of the fission barriers of isotopes with $Z> 70$ is $<δV_B> = 0.88$ MeV).
The role of the curvature terms and their effects on the description of the experimental quantities are discussed in detail; for comparison the parameters of the more 'traditional' approaches are re-fitted taking into account the nuclear masses known today and the performances of several variants of the model are compared. The isospin dependence in the new description of the barriers is in a good agreement with the extended Thomas-Fermi approach; it also demonstrates a good qualitative agreement with the fission life-time systematics tested on the long chain of Fermium isotopes known experimentally.
The new approach offers also a very high stability in terms of the extrapolation from the narrower range of nuclides to a more extended one - a property of particular interest for the contemporary exotic beam projects: the corresponding properties are illustrated and discussed.
