The problem of finite/fixed-time cooperative state estimation is considered for a class of quasilinear systems with nonlinearities satisfying a Hölder condition. A strongly connected nonlinear distributed observer is designed under the assumption of global observability. By proper parameter tuning with linear matrix inequalities, the observer error equation possesses finite/fixed-time stability in the perturbation-free case and input-to-state stability with respect to bounded perturbations. Numerical simulations are performed to validate this design.

The use of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) with anchoring groups was considered as an effective approach for interface engineering in perovskite solar cells with metal oxide charge transporting layers. However, the coating of SAM layers in PSMs by means of a slot-die is a challenging process due to the low viscosity of the solutions and the low wettability of the films. In this study, we integrate a triphenylamine-based polymer, pTPA-TDP, blended with SAM based on 5-[4-[4-(diphenylamino) phenyl] thiophene-2-carboxylic acid (TPATC), to address the challenges of uniform slot-die coating and interface passivation in large-area modules. We fabricated p-i-n oriented PSMs on 50x50 mm2 substrates (12-sub-cells) with NiO hole transport layer (HTL) and organic interlayers for surface modification. Wetting angle map** demonstrated that ununiform regions of the slot-die coated SAM have hydrophobicity with contact angle values up to 90°, causing fluctuations in absorber thickness and the presence of macro-defects at buried interfaces. The incorporation of the blended interlayer to NiO/perovskite junction homogenized the surface wettability (contact angle=40°) and mitigated lattice strain in the absorber. This enabled the effective use of SAM properties on a large-area surface, improving energy level alignment and enhancing the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the modules from 13.98% to 15.83% and stability (ISOS-L-2, T80 period) from 500-1000 hours to 1630 hours. Investigation of PSMs upon cooling till -5 °C showed that the PCE increased by +0.19%/°C for samples with NiO HTL, while using SAM and blended interlayers raised the coefficient to ~0.40%/°C due to changes in activation energy and trap contributions to device performance across a wide temperature range.

We present the first results from a proof-of-concept search for dark sectors via invisible decays of pseudoscalar $η$ and $η'$ mesons in the NA64h experiment at the CERN SPS. Our novel technique uses the charge-exchange reaction of 50 GeV $π^-$ on nuclei of an active target as the source of neutral mesons. The $η, η' \to invisible$ events would exhibit themselves via a striking signature - the complete disappearance of the incoming beam energy in the detector. No evidence for such events has been found with $2.9\times10^{9}$ pions on target accumulated during one day of data taking. This allows us to set a stringent limit on the branching ratio ${\rm Br}(η' \to invisible) < 2.1 \times 10^{-4}$ improving the current bound by a factor of $\simeq3$. We also set a limit on ${\rm Br}(η\to invisible) < 1.1 \times 10^{-4}$ comparable with the existing one. These results demonstrate the great potential of our approach and provide clear guidance on how to enhance and extend the sensitivity for dark sector physics from future searches for invisible neutral meson decays.

Transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) materials have attracted substantial interest due to their remarkable excitonic, optical, electrical, and mechanical properties, which are highly dependent on their crystal structure. Controlling the crystal structure of these materials is essential for fine-tuning their performance, $\textit{e.g.}$, linear and nonlinear optical, as well as charge transport properties. While various phase-switching TMD materials, like molybdenum telluride (MoTe$_2$), are available, their transitions are often irreversible. Here, we investigate the mechanism of a light-induced reversible phase transition in mono- and bilayer flakes of rhenium disulfide (ReS$_2$). Our observations, based on scanning transmission electron microscopy, nonlinear spectroscopy, and density functional theory calculations, reveal a transition from the ground T$''$ (double distorted T) to the metastable H$'$ (distorted H) phase under femtosecond laser irradiation or influence of highly-energetic electrons. We show that the formation of sulfur vacancies facilitates this phenomenon. Our findings pave the way towards actively manipulating the crystal structure of ReS$_2$ and possibly its heterostructures.

The inclusion of an additional $U(1)$ gauge $L_μ-L_τ$ symmetry would release the tension between the measured and the predicted value of the anomalous muon magnetic moment: this paradigm assumes the existence of a new, light $Z^\prime$ vector boson, with dominant coupling to $μ$ and $τ$ leptons and interacting with electrons via a loop mechanism. The $L_μ-L_τ$ model can also explain the Dark Matter relic abundance, by assuming that the $Z'$ boson acts as a "portal" to a new Dark Sector of particles in Nature, not charged under known interactions. In this work we present the results of the $Z'$ search performed by the NA64-$e$ experiment at CERN SPS, that collected $\sim 9\times10^{11}$ 100 GeV electrons im**ing on an active thick target. Despite the suppressed $Z'$ production yield with an electron beam, NA64-$e$ provides the first accelerator-based results excluding the $g-2$ preferred band of the $Z'$ parameter space in the 1 keV $ < m_{Z'} \lesssim 2$ MeV range, in complementarity with the limits recently obtained by the NA64-$μ$ experiment with a muon beam.

This paper investigates the robust asymptotic stabilization of a linear time-invariant (LTI) system by a static feedback with a static state quantization. It is shown that the controllable LTI system can be stabilized to zero in a finite time by means of a nonlinear feedback with a quantizer having a limited (finite) number of values (quantization seeds) even when all parameters of the controller and the quantizer are time-invariant. The control design is based on generalized homogeneity. A homogeneous spherical quantizer is introduced. The static homogeneous feedback is shown to be local (or global) finite-time stabilizer for the linear system (dependently of the system matrix). The tuning rules for both the quantizer and the feedback law are obtained in the form of Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs). The closed-loop system is proven to be robust with respect to some bounded matched and vanishing mismatched perturbations. Theoretical results are supported by numerical simulations. \

In this paper, this method is extended into the leader-following consensus problem. Initially, a linear control protocol is designed for the Multi-agent System without disturbances. Subsequently, in the presence of bounded disturbances, by employing a similar linear control protocol, a necessary and sufficient condition is introduced to derive the optimal control parameters for the MAS such that the state of followers converge and remain in an minimal invariant ellipsoid around the state of the leader.

We report on a search for a new $Z'$ ($L_μ-L_τ$) vector boson performed at the NA64 experiment employing a high energy muon beam and a missing energy-momentum technique. Muons from the M2 beamline at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron with a momentum of 160 GeV/c are directed to an active target. A signal event is a single scattered muon with momentum $<$ 80 GeV/c in the final state, accompanied by missing energy, i.e. no detectable activity in the downstream calorimeters. For a total statistic of $(1.98\pm0.02)\times10^{10}$ muons on target, no event is observed in the expected signal region. This allows us to set new limits on part of the remaining $(m_{Z'},\ g_{Z'})$ parameter space which could provide an explanation for the muon $(g-2)_μ$ anomaly. Additionally, our study excludes part of the parameter space suggested by the thermal Dark Matter relic abundance. Our results pave the way to explore Dark Sectors and light Dark Matter with muon beams in a unique and complementary way to other experiments.

New results are presented on a high-statistics measurement of Collins and Sivers asymmetries of charged hadrons produced in deep inelastic scattering of muons on a transversely polarised $^6$LiD target. The data were taken in 2022 with the COMPASS spectrometer using the 160 \gevv\ muon beam at CERN, balancing the existing data on transversely polarised proton targets. The first results from about two-thirds of the new data have total uncertainties smaller by up to a factor of three compared to the previous deuteron measurements. Using all the COMPASS proton and deuteron results, both the transversity and the Sivers distribution functions of the $u$ and $d$ quark, as well as the tensor charge in the measured $x$-range are extracted. In particular, the accuracy of the $d$ quark results is significantly improved.

The COMPASS Collaboration performed measurements of the Drell-Yan process in 2015 and 2018 using a 190 GeV/c $π^{-}$ beam im**ing on a transversely polarised ammonia target. Combining the data of both years, we present final results on the amplitudes of the five azimuthal modulations in the dimuon production cross section. Three of these transverse-spin-dependent azimuthal asymmetries (TSAs) probe the nucleon leading-twist Sivers, transversity, and pretzelosity transverse-momentum dependent (TMD) parton distribution functions (PDFs). The other two are induced by subleading effects. These TSAs provide unique new inputs for the study of the nucleon TMD PDFs and their universality properties. In particular, the Sivers TSA observed in this measurement is consistent with the fundamental QCD prediction of a sign change of naive time-reversal-odd TMD PDFs when comparing the Drell-Yan process with semi-inclusive measurements of deep inelastic scattering. Also, within the context of model predictions, the observed transversity TSA is consistent with the expectation of a sign change for the Boer-Mulders function.

Casimir torque -- a rotational motion caused by the minimization of the zero-point energy -- is a problem that attracts significant theoretical and experimental interest. Recently, it has been realized using liquid crystal phases and natural anisotropic substrates. However, for natural materials, the torque reaches substantial values only at van der Waals distances of ~10 nm. Here, we employ Casimir self-assembly using templated gold nanostructures of triangular symmetry for the purpose of rotational self-alignment at truly Casimir distances (100 -- 200 nm separation). The joint action of repulsive electrostatic and attractive Casimir potentials leads to the formation of a stable quantum trap, giving rise to a tunable Fabry-Perot microcavity. This cavity self aligns both laterally and rotationally to maximize the overlap area between the templated and floating triangular flakes. The rotational self-alignment is remarkably sensitive to the equilibrium distance between the two triangles as well as their area, which opens possibilities for active control through manipulating the electrostatic screening. Our self-assembled and self-aligned Casimir microcavities could find future use as a versatile and tunable platform for nanophotonic, polaritonic, and optomechanical applications.

We present the results of a missing-energy search for Light Dark Matter which has a new interaction with ordinary matter transmitted by a vector boson, called dark photon $A^\prime$. For the first time, this search is performed with a positron beam by using the significantly enhanced production of $A^\prime$ in the resonant annihilation of positrons with atomic electrons of the target nuclei, followed by the invisible decay of $A^\prime$ into dark matter. No events were found in the signal region with $(10.1 \pm 0.1)~\times~10^{9}$ positrons on target with 100 GeV energy. This allowed us to set new exclusion limits that, relative to the collected statistics, prove the power of this experimental technique. This measurement is a crucial first step toward a future exploration program with positron beams, whose estimated sensitivity is here presented.

Second-order nonlinearity in solids gives rise to a plethora of unique physical phenomena ranging from piezoelectricity and optical rectification to optical parametric amplification, spontaneous parametric down-conversion, and the generation of entangled photon pairs. Monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), such as MoS$_2$, exhibit one of the highest known second-order nonlinear coefficients. However, the monolayer nature of these materials prevents the fabrication of resonant objects exclusively from the material itself, necessitating the use of external structures to achieve optical enhancement of nonlinear processes. Here, we exploit the 3R phase of a molybdenum disulfide multilayer for resonant nonlinear nanophotonics. The lack of inversion symmetry, even in the bulk of the material, provides a combination of a massive second-order susceptibility, an extremely high and anisotropic refractive index in the near-infrared region ($n>$~4.5), and low absorption losses, making 3R-MoS$_2$ highly attractive for nonlinear nanophotonics. We demonstrate this by fabricating 3R-MoS$_2$ nanodisks of various radii, which support resonant anapole states, and observing substantial ($>$ 100-fold) enhancement of second-harmonic generation in a single resonant nanodisk compared to an unpatterned flake of the same thickness. The enhancement is maximized at the spectral overlap between the anapole state of the disk and the material resonance of the second-order susceptibility. Our approach unveils a powerful tool for enhancing the entire spectrum of optical second-order nonlinear processes in nanostructured van der Waals materials, thereby paving the way for nonlinear and quantum high-index TMD-nanophotonics.

A simple routine is proposed for monitoring the efficiency value of a low pressure pentane filled multi-wire proportional chamber (MWPC) in long term experiments. The proposed algorithm utilizes a two parameter approximation for the background function. It is based on a linear approximation of the background in the energy range of 4.8 to 10.0 MeV and an exponential approximation of the neutron induced tail in the 1.5 to 4.2 MeV region. This specific energy interval is used to measure the efficiency value. Prior to discussing the algorithm, a description of the DGFRS-2 setup detection module is provided. Additionally, an example of its application is presented for the complete fusion of a heavy ion induced 232Th+48Ca = Ds complete fusion nuclear reaction. Descriptions of two other two-parameter functional dependencies for background approximations are also provided. A feature of this algorithm is that there is no interruption of the main experiment for a calibration test (reaction). An alternative scenario is considered in brief too. In consist of a measurement of scattered target like ions in 30 to 45 MeV energy interval to estimate an efficiency value.

Thermal dark matter models with particle $χ$ masses below the electroweak scale can provide an explanation for the observed relic dark matter density. This would imply the existence of a new feeble interaction between the dark and ordinary matter. We report on a new search for the sub-GeV $χ$ production through the interaction mediated by a new vector boson, called the dark photon $A'$, in collisions of 100 GeV electrons with the active target of the NA64 experiment at the CERN SPS. With $9.37\times10^{11}$ electrons on target collected during 2016-2022 runs NA64 probes for the first time the well-motivated region of parameter space of benchmark thermal scalar and fermionic dark matter models. No evidence for dark matter production has been found. This allows us to set the most sensitive limits on the $A'$ couplings to photons for masses $m_{A'} \lesssim 0.35$ GeV, and to exclude scalar and Majorana dark matter with the $χ-A'$ coupling $α_D \leq 0.1$ for masses $0.001 \lesssim m_χ\lesssim 0.1$ GeV and $3m_χ\leq m_{A'}$.

In this study, we present the measurement of the intrinsic hadronic contamination at the CERN SPS H4 beamline configured to transport electrons and positrons at 100 GeV/c momentum. The analysis was performed using data collected by the NA64-$e$ experiment in 2022. Our study is based on calorimetric measurements, exploiting the different interaction mechanisms of electrons and hadrons in the NA64-ECAL and NA64-HCAL detectors. We determined the intrinsic hadronic contamination by comparing the results obtained using the nominal electron/positron beamline configuration with those obtained in a dedicated setup, in which only hadrons im**ed on the detector. The significant differences in the experimental signatures of electrons and hadrons motivated our approach, resulting in a small and well-controlled systematic uncertainty for the measurement. Our study allowed us to precisely determine the intrinsic hadronic contamination, which represents a crucial parameter for the NA64 experiment in which the hadron contaminants may result in non-trivial backgrounds. Moreover, we performed dedicated Monte Carlo simulations for the hadron production induced by the primary T2 target. We found a good agreement between measurements and simulation results, confirming the validity of the applied methodology and our evaluation of the intrinsic hadronic contamination.

In this paper, we present the results of the first beam tests of the detection system at the focal plane of the Dubna Gas-Filled Recoil Separator-2 (DGFRS-2), which receives beams from the DC-280 FLNR cyclotron. The high beam intensity of $^{48}$Ca$^{+10}$ heavy ions from the cyclotron enables us to obtain a number of superheavy recoils sufficient to compare both the measured and calculated spectra of superheavy recoils implanted into a silicon detector. A real-time algorithm to search for an Evaporation Residue (ER) -- $α$ correlated sequences is described in brief. It should be noted that the DGFRS-2 spectrometer operates in conjunction with the 48x128 strip DSSD (Double-sided Silicon Strip Detector; 48x226 mm2) detector and a low-pressure pentane-filled gaseous detector (1.2 Torr; 80x230 mm$^2$). A block-diagram of the spectrometer and the event format are also presented. Special attention is paid to the response of a low-pressure pentane-filled DeltaE multiwire proportional chamber for recoils of Fl, synthesized in the $^{242}$Pu+$^{48}$Ca $\to$ $^{287}$Fl +3n complete fusion nuclear reaction. Some actual parameters of the detection system have also been extracted from $^{\rm nat}$Yb + $^{48}$Ca, $^{232}$Th + $^{48}$Ca, $^{243}$Am + $^{48}$Ca, $^{238}$U + $^{48}$Ca reactions. The effect of neighbor strip charge sharing for the ohmic side of the DSSD detector is also under consideration.

The defect-activity in halide perovskites remains a critical factor for the application in optoelectronics. The imperfections (vacancies, anti-sites, interstitials) formed in the lattice of the halide perovskites were considered as a main origin for the corrosion of the interfaces and decomposition process under external stress. At the same time, the self-healing effect was reported as one of the features for the devices based on halide perovskites, which manifests in the recovery of device performance under specific conditions. Such processes require a detailed analysis for the quantitative analysis of the defect parameters. In this work, we used Admittance and Optical Deep-level Transient spectroscopy to determine the evolution of the defect energy levels in the simplified rectifying device architecture based on CH3NH3PbBr3 after consecutive accumulation of the absorbed radiation dose (fast electrons, 5 MeV). We found that electron beam irradiation induces the formation of the deep states of anti-sites PbBr with activation energy of 0.83 eV. Increase of the absorbed radiation dose up to 1.5 Mrad resulted in a critical raise of 0.83 eV defect concentration, which can be effectively annealed during the temperature sweep. The changes in the defect parameters after different values of the absorbed radiation dose were analyzed and discussed. The current work provides new insights for the self-healing process of halide perovskite-based devices under hard external stress, revealing the important specifics of the defect behavior.

The COMPASS collaboration has performed the first measurement of the Collins and Sivers asymmetries for inclusively produced $ρ^0$ mesons. The analysis is based on the data set collected in deep inelastic scattering in $2010$ using a $160\,\,\rm{GeV}/c$ $μ^+$ beam im**ing on a transversely polarized $\rm{NH}_3$ target. The $ρ^{0}$ mesons are selected from oppositely charged hadron pairs, and the asymmetries are extracted as a function of the Bjorken-$x$ variable, the transverse momentum of the pair and the fraction of the energy $z$ carried by the pair. Indications for positive Collins and Sivers asymmetries are observed.

Here, $W$ denotes the mass of the final hadronic system, $Q^2$ the virtuality of the exchanged photon, and $p_{\rm{T}}$ the transverse momentum of the $ρ^0$ meson with respect to the virtual-photon direction. The measured non-zero SDMEs for the transitions of transversely polarised virtual photons to longitudinally polarised vector mesons ($γ^*_T \to V^{ }_L$) indicate a violation of $s$-channel helicity conservation. Additionally, we observe a dominant contribution of natural-parity-exchange transitions and a very small contribution of unnatural-parity-exchange transitions, which is compatible with zero within experimental uncertainties. The results provide important input for modelling Generalised Parton Distributions (GPDs). In particular, they may allow one to evaluate in a model-dependent way the role of parton helicity-flip GPDs in exclusive $ρ^0$ production.

The long-term stability of halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) remains the critical problem of this photovoltaic technology. Different structural defects formed in the thin-film perovskite films were considered as a main trigger for the decomposition of the absorber and corrosion of the interfaces in the device structure. The changes in the stability performance of the PSCs require a detailed analysis of the defects generated under external stress (light and heat). Using admittance, deep-level transient spectroscopy (DLTS) and reverse DLTS we determined the evolution of the defect energy levels in p-i-n PCS under continuous light soaking stress. We compared the impact of the charged defects on the performance and long-term stability of the CsFAPbI3 based devices with and without Cl-do**. Despite the gain in the output performance of the PCSs, the devices with CsFAPbI3-xClx showed improved light soaking stability. The T80 (time required to reduce initial efficiency by 20%) for Cl-doped PSCs was 1280h, while for pure CsFAPbI3 based devices only 650h. Three different defect energy levels were determined for different device configurations. We found that Cl-do** suppressed the formation of the antisite defects (IPb, IFA) and iodine interstitials (Ii). The changes in the defect's energy levels after continuous light soaking stress were analyzed and discussed. The present work provides new insights for the defect behavior of PSCs under continuous external stress, revealing the physical-chemical impact of the Cl-additive strategy.

Kinetic instabilities in a dense plasma of a continuous ECR discharge in a mirror magnetic trap at the GISMO setup are studied. We experimentally define unstable regimes and corresponding plasma parameters, where the excitation of electromagnetic emission is observed, accompanied by the precipitation of energetic electrons from the magnetic trap. Comprehensive experimental study of the precipitating electron energy distribution and plasma electromagnetic emission spectra, together with theoretical estimates of the cyclotron instability increment proves that under the experimental conditions the observed instability is related to the excitation of whistler-mode waves, which are a driver of losses of energetic electrons from the magnetic trap. The results of this study are important for the further development of the GISMO ECRIS facility and for the improvement of its parameters as an ion source. Also, this research of plasma kinetic instabilities is of fundamental interest and provides experimental tools to simultaneously study plasma electromagnetic activity and corresponding changes in a resonant electron energy distribution.

This allows to derive new constraints on the $Z'-e$ coupling strength, which for the mass range $0.3 < m_{Z'} < 100$ MeV are more stringent compared to those obtained from the neutrino-electron scattering data.

Hyperexponential stability is investigated for dynamical systems with the use of both, explicit and implicit, Lyapunov function methods. A nonlinear hyperexponential control is designed for stabilizing linear systems. The tuning procedure is formalized in LMI form. Through numeric experiments, it is observed that the proposed hyperexponential control is less sensitive with respect to noises and discretization errors than its finite-time analog. It also demonstrates better performance in the presence of delays as well. Theoretical results are supported by numerical simulations.

The extension of Standard Model made by inclusion of additional $U(1)$ gauge $L_μ-L_τ$ symmetry can explain the difference between the measured and the predicted value of the muon magnetic moment and solve the tension in $B$ meson decays. This model predicts the existence of a new, light $Z^\prime$ vector boson, predominantly coupled to second and third generation leptons, whose interaction with electrons is due to a loop mechanism involving muons and taus. In this work, we present a rigorous evaluation of the upper limits in the $Z^\prime$ parameter space, obtained from the analysis of the data collected by the NA64-$e$ experiment at CERN SPS, that performed a search for light dark matter with $2.84\times10^{11}$ electrons im**ing with 100 GeV on an active thick target. The resulting limits, despite being included in a region already investigated by neutrino experiments, touch the muon $g-2$ preferred band for values of the $Z^\prime$ mass of order of 1 MeV. The sensitivity projections for the future high-statistics NA64-$e$ runs demonstrate the power of the electrons/positron beam approach in this theoretical scenario.

We are at the midst of second quantum revolution where the mesoscopic quantum devies are actively employed for technological purposes. Despite this fact, the description of their real-time dynamics beyond the Fermi's golden rule remains a formiddable theoretical problem. This is due to the rapid spread of entanglement within the degrees of freedom of the surrounding environment. This is accompanied with a quantum noise (QN) acting on the mesoscopic device. In this work we propose a possible way out: to exploit the fact that this QN is usually bandlimited. This is because its spectral density is often contained in peaks of localized modes and resonances, and may be constrained by bandgaps. Inspired by the Kotelnikov sampling theorem from the theory of classical bandlimited signals, we put forward and explore the idea that when the QN spectral density has effective bandwidth $B$, the quantum noise becomes a discrete-time process, with an elementary time step $τ\propto B^{-1}$. After each time step $τ$, one new QN degree of freedom (DoF) gets coupled to the device for the first time, and one new QN DoF get irreversibly decoupled. Only a bounded number of QN DoFs are significantly coupled at any time moment. We call these DoFs the \textit{Kotelnikov modes}. As a result, the real-time dissipative quantum motion has a natural structure of a discrete-time matrix product state, with a bounded bond dimension. This yields a microscopically derived collision model. The temporal entanglement entropy appears to be bounded (area-law scaling) in the frame of Kotelnikov modes. The irreversibly decoupled modes can be traced out as soon as they occur during the real-time evolution. This leads to a novel\textit{bandlimited} input-output formalism and to quantum jump Monte Carlo simulation techniques for real-time motion of open quantum systems. We illustrate this idea on a spin-boson model.

We present the study of the production of double $J/ψ$ mesons using COMPASS data collected with a 190 GeV/$c$ $π^-$ beam scattering off NH$_{3}$, Al and W targets. Kinematic distributions of the collected double $J/ψ$ events are analysed, and the double $J/ψ$ production cross section is estimated for each of the COMPASS targets. The results are compared to predictions from single- and double-parton scattering models as well as the pion intrinsic charm and the tetraquark exotic resonance hypotheses. It is demonstrated that the single parton scattering production mechanism gives the dominant contribution that is sufficient to describe the data. An upper limit on the double intrinsic charm content of pion is evaluated. No significant signatures that could be associated with exotic tetraquarks are found in the double $J/ψ$ mass spectrum.

Non-overshooting stabilization is a form of safe control where the setpoint chosen by the user is at the boundary of the safe set. Exponential non-overshooting stabilization, including suitable extensions to systems with deterministic and stochastic disturbances, has been solved by the second author and his coauthors. In this paper we develop homogeneous feedback laws for fixed-time nonovershooting stabilization for nonlinear systems that are input-output linearizable with a full relative degree, i.e., for systems that are diffeomorphically equivalent to the chain of integrators. These homogeneous feedback laws can also assume the secondary role of `fixed-time safety filters' (FxTSf filters) which keep the system within the closed safe set for all time but, in the case where the user's nominal control commands approach to the unsafe set, allow the system to reach the boundary of the safe set no later than a desired time that is independent of nominal control and independent of the value of the state at the time the nominal control begins to be overridden.

We study the spin-exotic $J^{PC} = 1^{-+}$ amplitude in single-diffractive dissociation of 190 GeV$/c$ pions into $π^-π^-π^+$ using a hydrogen target and confirm the $π_1(1600) \to ρ(770) π$ amplitude, which interferes with a nonresonant $1^{-+}$ amplitude. We demonstrate that conflicting conclusions from previous studies on these amplitudes can be attributed to different analysis models and different treatment of the dependence of the amplitudes on the squared four-momentum transfer and we thus reconcile their experimental findings. We study the nonresonant contributions to the $π^-π^-π^+$ final state using pseudo-data generated on the basis of a Deck model. Subjecting pseudo-data and real data to the same partial-wave analysis, we find good agreement concerning the spectral shape and its dependence on the squared four-momentum transfer for the $J^{PC} = 1^{-+}$ amplitude and also for amplitudes with other $J^{PC}$ quantum numbers. We investigate for the first time the amplitude of the $π^-π^+$ subsystem with $J^{PC} = 1^{--}$ in the $3π$ amplitude with $J^{PC} = 1^{-+}$ employing the novel freed-isobar analysis scheme. We reveal this $π^-π^+$ amplitude to be dominated by the $ρ(770)$ for both the $π_1(1600)$ and the nonresonant contribution. We determine the $ρ(770)$ resonance parameters within the three-pion final state. These findings largely confirm the underlying assumptions for the isobar model used in all previous partial-wave analyses addressing the $J^{PC} = 1^{-+}$ amplitude.

We report the results of a search for a new vector boson ($A'$) decaying into two dark matter particles $χ_1 χ_2$ of different mass. The heavier $χ_2$ particle subsequently decays to $χ_1$ and $A' \to e^- e^+$. For a sufficiently large mass splitting, this model can explain in terms of new physics the recently confirmed discrepancy observed in the muon anomalous magnetic moment at Fermilab. Remarkably, it also predicts the observed yield of thermal dark matter relic abundance. A detailed Monte-Carlo simulation was used to determine the signal yield and detection efficiency for this channel in the NA64 setup. The results were obtained re-analyzing the previous NA64 searches for an invisible decay $A'\to χ\overlineχ$ and axion-like or pseudo-scalar particles $a \to γγ$. With this method, we exclude a significant portion of the parameter space justifying the muon g-2 anomaly and being compatible with the observed dark matter relic density for $A'$ masses from 2$m_e$ up to 390 MeV and mixing parameter $ε$ between $3\times10^{-5}$ and $2\times10^{-2}$.

Several possible channels to access these functions were originally proposed. One candidate is the measurement of the polarisation of $Λ$ hyperons produced in SIDIS off transversely polarised nucleons, where the transverse polarisation of the struck quark might be transferred to the final-state hyperon. In this article, we present the COMPASS results on the transversity-induced polarisation of $Λ$ and $\barΛ$ hyperons produced in SIDIS off transversely polarised protons. Within the experimental uncertainties, no significant deviation from zero was observed. We report the results of a search for a light pseudoscalar particle $a$ that couples to electrons and decays to $e^+e^-$ performed using the high-energy CERN SPS H4 electron beam. If such pseudoscalar with a mass $\simeq 17$ MeV exists, it could explain the ATOMKI anomaly. We used the NA64 data samples collected in the "visible mode" configuration with total statistics corresponding to $8.4\times 10^{10}$ electrons on target (EOT) in 2017 and 2018. In order to increase sensitivity to small coupling parameter $ε$ we used also the data collected in 2016-2018 in the "invisible mode" configuration of NA64 with a total statistics corresponding to $2.84\times 10^{11}$ EOT. A thorough analysis of both these data samples in the sense of background and efficiency estimations was already performed and reported in our previous papers devoted to the search for light vector particles and axion-like particles (ALP). In this work we recalculate the signal yields, which are different due to different cross section and life time of a pseudoscalar particle $a$, and perform a new statistical analysis. As a result, the region of the two dimensional parameter space $m_a - ε$ in the mass range from 1 to 17.1 MeV is excluded. At the mass of the ATOMKI anomaly the values of $ε$ in the range $2.1 \times 10^{-4} < ε< 3.2 \times 10^{-4}$ are excluded.

These results are an order of magnitude more sensitive compared to the current accuracy on $a_e$ from the electron $g-2$ experiments and recent high-precision determination of the fine structure constant.

Spin-momentum locking in topological insulators and materials with Rashba-type interactions is an extremely attractive feature for novel spintronic devices and is therefore under intense investigation. Significant efforts are underway to identify new material systems with spin-momentum locking, but also to create heterostructures with new spintronic functionalities. In the present study we address both subjects and investigate a van der Waals-type heterostructure consisting of the topological insulator Bi$_{2}$Se$_{3}$ and a single Se-Ta-Se triple-layer (TL) of H-type TaSe$_{2}$ grown by a novel method which exploits an interface reaction between the adsorbed metal and selenium. We then show, using surface x-ray diffraction, that the symmetry of the TaSe2-like TL is reduced from D$_{3h}$ to C$_{3v}$ resulting from a vertical atomic shift of the tantalum atom. Spin- and angle-resolved photoemission indicates that, owing to the symmetry lowering, the states at the Fermi surface acquire an in-plane spin component forming a surface contour with a helical Rashba-like spin texture, which is coupled to the Dirac cone of the substrate. Our approach provides a new route to realize novel chiral two-dimensional electron systems via interface engineering that do not exist in the corresponding bulk materials.

In this work we provide a complete description of the lifecycle of entanglement during the real-time motion of open quantum systems. The quantum environment can have arbitrary (e.g. structured) spectral density. The entanglement can be seen constructively as a Lego: its bricks are the modes of the environment. These bricks are connected to each other via operator transforms. The central result is that each infinitesimal time interval one new (incoming) mode of the environment gets coupled (entangled) to the open system, and one new (outgoing) mode gets irreversibly decoupled (disentangled from future). Moreover, each moment of time, only a few relevant modes (3 - 4 in the considered cases) are non-negligibly coupled to the future quantum motion. These relevant mode change (flow, or renormalize) with time. As a result, the temporal entanglement has the structure of a matrix-product operator. This allows us to pose a number of questions and to answer them in this work: what is the intrinsic quantum complexity of a real time motion; does this complexity saturate with time, or grows without bounds; how to do the real-time renormalization group in a justified way; how the classical Brownian stochastic trajectories emerge from the quantum evolution; how to construct the few-mode representations of non-Markovian environments. We provide illustrative simulations of the spin-boson model for various spectral densities of the environment: semicircle, subohmic, Ohmic, and superohmic.

Abstract:
Results of a study of the $K^+ \rightarrow π^{0} e^{+} νγ$ decay at OKA setup are presented. More than 32000 events of this decay are observed. The differential spectra over the photon energy and the photon-electron opening angle in kaon rest frame are presented. The branching ratios, normalized to that of $K_{e3}$ decay are calculated for different cuts in $E^*_γ$ and $cosΘ^{*}_{eγ}$. In particul…

In particular, the branching ratio for $E^{*}_γ>30$ MeV and $Θ^{*}_{e γ}>20^{\circ}$ is measured R = $\frac{Br(K^+ \rightarrow π^{0} e^{+} ν_{e} γ) } {Br(K^+ \rightarrow π^{0} e^{+} ν_{e})} $ = =(0.587$\pm$0.010($stat.$)$\pm$0.015($syst.$))$\times10^{-2}$, which is in a good agreement with ChPT $O(p^{4})$ calculations.
