The magnetic moment of the muon can receive significant two-loop contributions from the scalar spectrum in Two Higgs Doublet Models (THDM), particularly for a light pseudoscalar. It is established that the symmetry breaking from $SU(3)_L \times U(1)_N$ to $SU(2)_L \times U(1)_Y$ generates an effective Type-III THDM, which invariably leads to flavor-changing neutral current (FCNC) processes. In this study, we examine whether such an effective THDM framework can account for the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, considering the constraints imposed by $B$-meson decays, meson mixing, and invisible Higgs decays. Our principal finding reveals that a pseudoscalar with a mass of 66 GeV and a $\tan β$ value of 58 can account for the $g-2$ anomaly without conflicting with existing experimental limits.

In this work, we investigate the physical aspects of the inflection-point inflation scenario and assess its observational viability in light of current Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) data. The model we consider encapsulates the inflaton with a pseudo-scalar (the dark matter candidate) in a complex neutral scalar singlet. The cosmological constraints on the parameters of inflation derived at a high energy scale are translated to a low energy scale by running these parameters. Ensuring the entire Lagrangian to be invariant under a $Z_3$ symmetry with the adequate transformation of the fields, the imaginary part of the singlet decouples from the other scalars of the model. We then investigate if the observational viability of inflation is also compatible with this pseudo-scalar being the dark matter component. We show that the CMB constraints on the inflationary parameters assure that the pseudo-scalar is stable and provides the correct relic dark matter abundance only when the pseudo-scalar is thermally produced.

Seesaw mechanisms are the simplest and the most elegant way of generating small masses for the active neutrinos $(m_ν)$. In these mechanisms $m_ν$ is inversely proportional to the lepton number breaking scale $(M)$ that, in the particular case of the type I seesaw mechanism, is the Majorana mass of the right-handed neutrinos. In the canonical case right-handed neutrinos are supposed to be heavy belonging to the GUT scale. With the advent of the LHC people began to suppose these neutrinos having mass at TeV scale. In this case very tiny Yukawa couplings are required. As far as we know there are no constraints on the energy scales associated to the seesaw mechanisms. In what concern 3-3-1 models, when we trigger the type I seesaw mechanism the lepton number breaking scale that suppresses active neutrino masses contributes to the masses of the standard gauge bosons. Current data on $m_W$ demands the mechanism to be performed at GeV scale. As main implication we may have right handed neutrinos with mass varying from few keVs up to hundreds of GeVs. We also investigate the viability of the mechanism and found as interesting result that in the case in which the right-handed neutrino masses belong to the range keV-MeV scale, viability of the mechanism demands that the lightest of the right-handed neutrinos be stable, which makes of it a natural dark matter candidate, and that the lightest of the active neutrinos be much lighter than the other two active neutrinos.

Tiny neutrino masses may be achieved by adding one sextet of scalars to the original scalar content. As consequence, it emerges a very complex scalar sector, involving terms that violate lepton number explicitly, too. The main obstacle to the development of the phenomenology of such scenario is the knowledge of its spectrum of scalars since, now, there are 15 massive scalar particles on it. The proposal of this work is to do an exhaustive analysis of such scalar sector with lepton number being explicitly violated at low, electroweak and high energy scales by means of trilinear terms in the potential. The first case can be addressed analytically and, as a nice result, we have observed that the scalar content of such case is split into two categories: One belonging to the 331 energy scale and the other belonging to the EWSB energy scale, with the last recovering the well known THDM+triplet. For the other cases, the scalar sector can be addressed only numerically. Hence, we proposed a very general approach for the numerical study of the potential, avoiding simplifications that can make us reach conclusions without foundation. We show that, in the case of lepton number being explicitly violated at electroweak scale, it is possible to recover the same physics of the THDM+triplet, as the previous case. Among all the possibilities, we call the attention to one special case which generates the 3HDM+triplet scenario. For the last case, when lepton number is violated at high energy scale, the sextet become very massive and decouples from the original scalar content of the 3-3-1 model.

In electroweak $ \text{SU}(3)_\text{L} \times \text{U}(1)_N $ models, where anomaly cancellation requires that one family of quarks transforms differently from the other ones, processes involving flavor changing neutral currents gain tree level contributions mediated by gauge and scalar fields. Here, we firstly investigate the contributions of the neutral scalar that mimics the standard Higgs to the $K^0-\bar K^0$, $B^0-\bar B^0$, and $D^0-\bar D^0$ mixing processes and confront our predictions with experiments. The results will determine the quark mixing matrices $V^{u,d}_L$. In possession of this information we, next, evaluate the contributions of the neutral gauge bosons $Z^{\prime}$ and $Z$ to the $K^0-\bar K^0$, $B^0-\bar B^0$, and $D^0-\bar D^0$ processes. This realistic approach to meson transitions will provide severe bounds on $M_{ Z^{\prime}}$ and $Z-Z^{\prime}$ mixing angle.

Since $f$ is an energy scale associated to the explicit violation of Peccei-Quinn global symmetry, it is natural to consider in what energy scale such symmetry is broken and its consequences in the spectrum of scalars of the model. here, We show that $f$ determines the spectrum of scalars of the model. Hence, we develop the scalar sector considering $f$ belonging to four energy regimes, namely $f \ll \langle η\rangle_0$, $\langle ρ\rangle_0$; $f= \langle η\rangle_0$, $\langle ρ\rangle_0$; $f=\langle χ\rangle_0$ and $f \gg \langle χ\rangle_0$ and obtain the spectrum of scalars for each case. In the first and second cases the spectrum of scalars presents a set of new scalars belonging to the electroweak scale, while in the third case all new scalars belong to the 3-3-1 scale and the fourth case all the new scalars have masses lying at $f$ scale. All cases have a neutral CP-even scalar mimicking the standard Higgs.

In 3-3-1 models anomaly cancellation requires that one of the three families of quarks transforms as triplet by $\text{SU}(3)_\text{L}$ with the other two transforming necessarily as anti-triplet. This is an important feature of the model because with it we explain family replication. Thus it is mandatory to discriminate which of the families will transform as triplet by $\text{SU}(3)_\text{L}$ because the main consequence of anomaly cancellation in 3-3-1 models is the arising of processes violating flavor at tree level by means of neutral currents mediated by gauge and scalar fields and each case leads to different results. In this work we consider the 3-3-1 model with right-handed neutrinos. Among the spectrum of 3-3-1 particles that contributes to the flavor changing neutral processes, there is a pseudoscalar that may be the lightest of the 3-3-1 particles and then should give the main contribution to such processes. We then calculate its contribution to the $K^0 -\bar K^0$ mixing transition and confront it with the current experimental results. We do this for the three cases in which one of the family of quarks transforms as a triplet by $\text{SU}(3)_\text{L}$. According to our findings each case leads to different constraints on the mass of the pseudoscalar and the case in which the third family of quarks transforms as triplet seems to be the favoured one. We also obtain the most stringent bounds on the mass of the pseudoscalar of the model.

In both cases the dark matter phenomenology, relic abundance and scattering cross section off of nuclei, is controlled by exchange of $Z^{\prime}$. We then investigate the impact on the parameter space $(M_{Z^{\prime}}\,,\,M_{(N_1\,,\, φ)})$ due to the recent Pandax-4T experimental result in both scenarios. First, the Pandax-4T experiment excludes scenarios with dark matter mass below $1.9$ TeV. Concerning $Z^{\prime}$, we find the lower bound $M_{Z^{\prime}}> 4.1$ TeV for the case when $N_1$ as the dark matter and $ M_{Z^{\prime}}>5.7$ TeV for the other case. This implies that the 3-3-1 symmetry is spontaneously broken above $10$ TeV scale. We also comment on the contributions to the relic abundance of processes involving flavor changing neutral current mediated by $Z^{\prime}$.

A new measurement is forthcoming, and it might give rise to a $5σ$ claim for physics beyond the Standard Model. Motivated by it, we explore the implications of this new result to five models based on the $SU(3)_C \times SU(3)_L \times U(1)_N$ gauge symmetry and put our conclusions into perspective with LHC bounds. We show that previous conclusions found in the context of such models change if there are more than one heavy particle running in the loop. Moreover, having in mind the projected precision aimed by the g-2 experiment at FERMILAB, we place lower mass bounds on the particles that contribute to muon anomalous magnetic moment assuming the anomaly is resolved otherwise. Lastly, we discuss how these models could accommodate such anomaly in agreement with existing bounds.

It is well known that the Standard Model of the Electroweak interactions rests on a metastable vacuum. This can only be fixed by means of new physics. Presently neutrino physics provides the most intriguing framework to formulate new physics. This is so because, in addition to the problem of the lightness of the active standard neutrinos, currently MiniBooNE experimental result may be indicating that sterile neutrinos exist and are light, too. In this case, it is reasonable to expect that the framework that yields light active and sterile neutrinos could stabilize the vacuum, too. In order to achieve this goal, we consider an extension of the standard model which involves new fermions in the form of right-handed neutrinos ($ν_R$) and new scalars in the form of triplet ($Δ$) and singlet ($σ$). Within this framework, tiny masses are obtained when we consider that lepton number is spontaneously broken at low energy scale which means that $Δ$ and $σ$, both, develop very small vacuum expectation values. We investigate if this setting leads to a stable vacuum. For this we obtain the whole set of conditions over the Quartic Terms of the Potential that ensures that the model is Bounded From Below(BFB) and evaluate the RGE-evolution of the self coupling of the Higgs. We show that in such a scenario the Quartic Coupling $Φ^T ΔΦσ$, where $Φ$ is the standard Higgs doublet, is responsible for the stability of the Electroweak Vacuum up to Planck scale. We also extract constraints over the parameters of the Potential by means of Lepton Flavor Violating(LFV) processes and from invisible decay of the standard-like Higgs.

The MiniBooNE collaboration recently released a report claiming have observed an excess of electron and anti-electron neutrino with significance of $4.8 \, σ$ C.L. corroborating, in this way, the long-standing LSND anomaly. Combined LSND and MiniBooNE analysis reach a significance of $6.0\, σ$ C.L. Such a result, if confirmed by future experiments, will cause considerable impact on particle physics since that such anomalies, when interpreted in terms of neutrino oscillation, require the existence of at least one light sterile neutrino. It happens that, on according to standard scenarios, such light sterile neutrino is incompatible with current cosmological data. In this way, understand these anomalies require an extension of the standard model capable of generating tiny masses for both active and sterile neutrinos and re-conciliates such a result with cosmology. An interesting proposal in this direction involve the existence of a secret sector interacting exclusively with sterile neutrinos. In this work we implement the canonical seesaw mechanism into the standard model in such a way that generates tiny masses to the active and sterile neutrinos and embody a secret sector capable of re-conciliating eV sterile neutrinos with cosmology. As other gains, the scalar content required by the implementation of the mechanism provides contribution to rare lepton decays, may accommodate the $g-2$ of the muon and poses a scalar singlet that may drive inflation through Higgs inflation mechanism without problem with loss of unitarity.

The condition for the standard Higgs boson playing the role of the inflaton, and driving successfully inflation, is that it couples nonminimally with gravity. Nevertheless, cosmological constraints impose that the nonminimal coupling be large. This causes the loss of perturbative unitarity in a scale of energy far below the Planck one. Our aim in this work is to point out that inflaton potential containing a particular type of trilinear coupling involving the inflaton may circumvent this problem by realizing Higgs inflation with tiny nonminimal coupling of the inflaton with gravity. We then develop the idea within a toy model and implement it in the inverse type-II seesaw mechanism for small neutrinos masses.

It is imperative that any proposal of new physics possesses a Higgs-like boson with 125 GeV of mass and couplings with the standard particles that recover the branching ratios and signal strengths as measured by CMS and ATLAS. We address this issue within the supersymmetric version of the minimal 3-3-1 model. For this we develop the Higgs potential with focus on the lightest Higgs provided by the model. Our proposal is to verify if it recovers the properties of the standard Higgs. With respect to its mass, we calculate it up to one loop level by taking into account all contributions provided by the model. In regard to its couplings, we restrict our investigation to couplings of the Higgs-like boson with the standard particles, only. We then calculate the dominant branching ratios and the respective signal strengths and confront our results with the recent measurements of CMS and ATLAS. As distinctive aspects, we remark that our Higgs-like boson intermediates flavor changing neutral processes and then argue that its signature is the decay $t \rightarrow h+c$. We calculate its branching ratio and compare it with current bounds. We also show that the potential is stable for the region of parameter space employed in our calculations.

This scalar emerges in a supersymmetric version of $SU(3)_c \otimes SU(3)_L \otimes U(1)_X$ gauge model where right handed neutrinos are a natural component of leptonic chiral scalar supermultiplets. We first consider the issue of a $125$~GeV Higgs boson mass in this model, showing that constraints on stop mass and trilinear soft coupling are considerably alleviated compared to MSSM. Then we investigate the region of parameter space that is consistent with right handed sneutrino as thermal cold dark matter, under the light of Planck results on the relic abundance and direct detection from LUX experiment. This sneutrino mainly annihilates through an extra neutral gauge boson, $Z^\prime$, and Higgs exchange, so that the physics of dark matter is somewhat related to the parameters determining Higgs and $Z^\prime$ masses. We then obtain that right handed sneutrino in this model must be heavier than $400$~GeV to conform with Planck and LUX, simultaneously constraining the $Z^\prime$ mass to be above 2400~GeV, which is in perfect agreement with LHC searches in a non-supersymmetric version of this model.

In this work we propose a scenario, based on the framework of R-parity violation, that realizes minimally the supersymmetric inverse seesaw mechanism. In it the energy scale parameters involved in the mechanism are recognized as the vacuum expectation values of the scalars that compose the singlet superfields $\hat N^C$ and $\hat S$. We develop also the scalar sector of the model and show that the Higgs mass receives a new tree-level contribution that, when combined with the standard contribution plus loop correction, is capable of attaining $125$GeV without resort to heavy stops.

We present a comprehensive review of keV-scale sterile neutrino Dark Matter, collecting views and insights from all disciplines involved - cosmology, astrophysics, nuclear, and particle physics - in each case viewed from both theoretical and experimental/observational perspectives. After reviewing the role of active neutrinos in particle physics, astrophysics, and cosmology, we focus on sterile neutrinos in the context of the Dark Matter puzzle. Here, we first review the physics motivation for sterile neutrino Dark Matter, based on challenges and tensions in purely cold Dark Matter scenarios. We then round out the discussion by critically summarizing all known constraints on sterile neutrino Dark Matter arising from astrophysical observations, laboratory experiments, and theoretical considerations. In this context, we provide a balanced discourse on the possibly positive signal from X-ray observations. Another focus of the paper concerns the construction of particle physics models, aiming to explain how sterile neutrinos of keV-scale masses could arise in concrete settings beyond the Standard Model of elementary particle physics. The paper ends with an extensive review of current and future astrophysical and laboratory searches, highlighting new ideas and their experimental challenges, as well as future perspectives for the discovery of sterile neutrinos.

We consider the Singlet Majorana fermion dark matter model, in which the standard model particles interact with the dark sector through the mixing of a singlet scalar and the Higgs boson. In this model both the dark matter and the singlet scalar carry lepton number, the latter being a bilepton. We suppose the existence of a $Z_2$ symmetry, remnant of some high energy local symmetry breaking, that stabilizes the Majorana fermion. We analyzed the parameter space of this model and found that the lepton number symmetry breaking scale, drove by the singlet scalar, is constrained to be within hundreds to thousands of GeV, so as to conform with the observed dark matter relic density. Finally, we address the direct detection and invisible Higgs decay complementarity, confronting our model with recent LUX and LHC constraints, as well as XENON1T prospects.

The advent of the LHC, and the proposal of building future colliders as the ILC, both programmed to explore new physics at the TeV scale, justifies the recent interest in studying all kind of seesaw mechanisms whose signature lies on such energy scale. The natural candidate for this kind of seesaw mechanism is the inverse one. The conventional inverse seesaw mechanism is implemented in an arrangement involving six new heavy neutrinos in addition to the three standard ones. In this paper we develop the inverse seesaw mechanism based on Higgs triplet model and probe its signature at the LHC and ILC. We argue that the conjoint analysis of the LHC together with the ILC may confirm the mechanism and, perhaps, infer the hierarchy of the neutrino masses.

We build a gauge model based on the SU(3)_c x SU(4)_L x U(1)_X symmetry where the scalar spectrum needed to generate gauge boson and fermion masses has a smaller scalar content than usually assumed in literature. We compute the running of its abelian gauge coupling and show that a Landau pole shows up at the TeV scale, a fact that we use to consistently implement those fermion masses that are not generated by Yukawa interactions, including neutrino masses. This is appropriately achieved by non renormalizable effective operators, suppressed by the Landau pole scale. Also, SU(3)_c x SU(3)_L x U(1)_N models embedded in this gauge structure are bound to be strongly coupled at this same energy scale, contrary to what is generally believed, and neutrino mass generation is rather explained through the same effective operators used in the larger gauge group. Besides, their nice features, as the existence of cold dark matter candidates and the ability to reproduce the observed standard model Higgs-like phenomenology, are automatically inherited by our model. Finally, our results imply that this model is constrained to be observed or discarded soon, since it must be realized at the currently probed energy scale in LHC.

If even a small, percent-level fraction of dark matter particles are produced relativistically, they could mimic the effect of an extra realistic species at matter-radiation equality while obeying BBN, CMB and Structure Formation bounds. We show that this scenario is quite naturally realized with a weak-scale dark matter particle and a high-scale ``mother'' particle within a well motivated 3-3-1 gauge model, which is particularly interesting for being consistent with electroweak precision measurements, with recent LHC results, and for offering a convincing explanation for the number of generations in the Standard Model.

Moreover, we derive the properties of the heavy neutral and the doubly charged scalars predicted by the model. We then conclude that at a scale of a few TeV, this model provides a good fit to the ATLAS and CMS signal strength measurements, and therefore stands as an appealing alternative to the standard model.

We obtain the relic abundance, thermal cross section, the WIMP-nucleon cross section in the low mass regime and network them with the branching ratios of the Higgs boson in the model. We conclude that the Higgs boson search has a profound connection to the dark matter problem in our model, in particular for the case that ($M_{WIMP} < 60$ GeV) the BR($H \rightarrow 2$ WIMPs) $\gtrsim 90%$. This scenario could explain this plateau of any mild excess regarding the Higgs search as well as explain the gamma-ray emission from the galactic center through the $b\bar{b}$ channel with a WIMP in the mass range of 25-45 GeV, while still being consistent with the current limits from XENON100 and CDMSII. However, if the recent modest excesses measured at LHC and TEVATRON are confirmed and consistent with a standard model Higgs boson this would imply that $ M_{WIMP} > 60 $ GeV, consequently ruling out any attempt to explain the Fermi-LAT observations.

We show that the conjunction of both mechanisms yield a neutrino mass expression suppressed by a high power of the cutoff scale, $M^5$, in its denominator. With such a suppression term we naturally obtain neutrino masses at eV scale when $M$ is around few TeV. We also investigate the size of lepton flavor violation through the process $μ\rightarrow eγ$.

We investigate the Higgs boson production through gluon fusion and its decay into two photons at the LHC in the context of the minimal 3-3-1 model and its alternative version with exotic leptons. The diphoton Higgs decay channel presents an enhanced signal in this model compared to the Standard Model due to the presence of an extra singly charged vector boson and a doubly charged one. Prospects for the Higgs boson detection at 7 TeV center-of-mass energy with up to 10 fb$^{-1}$ are presented. Our results suggest that a Higgs boson from these 3-3-1 models can potentially explain the small excess for $m_H\leq 145$ GeV observed at the LHC. Otherwise, if this excess reveals to be only a statistical fluctuation of the Standard Model backgrounds severe constraints can be put on these models.

The simplest non-abelian gauge extension of the electroweak standard model, the $SU(3)_c\otimes SU(3)_L\otimes U(1)_N$, known as 3-3-1 model, has a minimal version which demands the least possible fermionic content to account for the whole established phenomenology for the well known particles and interactions. Nevertheless, in its original form the minimal 3-3-1 model was proposed with a set of three scalar triplets and one sextet in order to yield the spontaneous breaking of the gauge symmetry and generate the observed fermion masses. Such a huge scalar sector turns the task of clearly identifying the physical scalar spectrum a clumsy labor. It not only adds an obstacle for the development of its phenomenology but implies a scalar potential plagued with new free coupling constants. In this work we show that the framework of the minimal 3-3-1 model can be built with only two scalar triplets, but still triggering the desired pattern of spontaneous symmetry breaking and generating the correct fermion masses. We present the exact physical spectrum and also show all the interactions involving the scalars, obtaining a neat minimal 3-3-1 model far more suited for phenomenological studies at the current Large Hadron Collider.

The common lore in the literature of neutrino mass generation is that the canonical see-saw mechanism beautifully offers an explanation for the tiny neutrino mass but at the cost of introducing right-handed neutrinos at a scale that is out of range for the current experiments. The inverse see-saw mechanism is an interesting alternative to the canonical one once it leads to tiny neutrino masses with the advantage of being testable at TeV scale. However, this last mechanism suffers from an issue of naturalness concerning the scale responsible for such small masses, namely, the parameter $μ$ that is related to lepton number violation and is supposed to be at the keV scale, much lower than the electroweak one. However, no theoretical framework was built that offers an explanation for obtaining this specific scale. In this work we propose a variation of the inverse see-saw mechanism by assuming a minimal scalar and fermionic set of singlet fields, along with a $Z_5\otimes Z_2$ symmetry, that allows a dynamical explanation for the smallness of $μ$, recovering the neat canonical see-saw formula and with right-handed (RH) neutrinos free to be at the electroweak scale, thus testable at LHC and current neutrino experiments.

We construct a full left-right model for the electroweak interactions based on the $SU(3)_{L}\otimes SU(3)_{R}\otimes U(1)_{X}$ gauge symmetry. The fermion content of the model is such that anomaly cancellation restricts the number of families to be a multiple of three. One of the most important features of the model is the joint presence of three light active neutrinos, three additional neutrinos at keV mass scale, and six heavy ones with masses around\textbf{$10^{11}$} GeV. They form a well-motivated part of the spectrum in the sense they address challenging problems related to neutrino oscillation, warm dark matter, and baryogenesis through leptogenesis.

In the original version of the minimal SU(3)_C x SU(3)_L x U(1)_N model the masses of all quarks are correctly obtained by introducing three scalar triplets into the model, meanwhile the lepton mass generation requires the introduction of at least one scalar sextet. In this work we show that this scalar sextet is unable to yield the correct neutrino masses and mixing. In order to solve this puzzle in the most economical way, we evoke an additional Z_3 discrete symmetry, without including this sextet in the scalar spectrum, and propose a truly minimal 3-3-1 model capable of generating the correct masses and mixing of all fermions. Moreover, we show that our proposal leads to naturally light neutrinos with masses in the eV range, obtained with three scalar triplets only. Finally, the so called minimal 3-3-1 model is also in danger due to the presence of undesirable effective operators that lead to proton decay unless they are suppressed by extremely small couplings or, as we choose to employ in this work, are eliminated by some discrete symmetry.

We add a singlet right handed neutrino plus a charged and a neutral singlet scalars to the standard model. This extension includes a discrete symmetry such that we obtain a heavy sterile neutrino which couples only to the electron and the new scalars. In this sense the singlet neutrino does not mix with ordinary ones and thus has no effect on Big Bang Nucleosynthesis. However, such sterile neutrino can be in equilibrium with electroweak particles in the early Universe due to its couplings to electrons and also because the Higgs boson mixes with the singlet scalars. We obtain that the sterile neutrino constitutes a dark matter candidate and analyze its direct detection in the light of current experiments. Our results show that if such a sterile neutrino is realized in nature, and CDMS-II experiment confirms its positive signal, dark matter demands a rather light Higgs boson with new Physics at some 500 GeV scale.

For typical values of the free parameters of the model we may obtain at least one right-handed neutrino with mass in the KeV range. Right-handed neutrino with mass in this range is a viable candidate for the warm component of the dark matter existent in the universe.

We identify the Majoron as a singlet under $SU_L(2)\otimes U_Y(1)$ symmetry, which makes it safe under the current bounds imposed by electroweak data. The main result of this work is that the seesaw mechanism works already at TeV scale with the outcome that the right-handed neutrino masses lie in the electroweak scale, in the range from MeV to tens of GeV. This window provides a great opportunity to test their appearance at current detectors, though when we contrast our results with some previous analysis concerning detection sensitivity at LHC, we conclude that further work is needed in order to validate this search.

Using the precision electroweak data we obtain a strong lower bound $f\geq 5.6$ TeV at 95% C.L. on the characteristic energy scale of the model. It results in a lower bound for the new gauge bosons $W^{\prime\pm}$ and $Z^{\prime}$ as being $M_{W^{\prime\pm}}\geq 2.6$ TeV and $M_{Z^{\prime}}\geq 3.1$ TeV, respectively. We also present the allowed values of the $k=f_1/f_2$ which is the parameter relating the two vacuum expectation values of the scalar triplets in the model, and the $μ$ parameter of a quadratic term, involving the triplets, necessary to provide an acceptable mass range for the standard Higgs boson.

It is a complex scalar with mass of order of some hundreds of GeV which carries two units of lepton number, a scalar bilepton. This makes it a very peculiar WIMP, very distinct from Supersymmetric or Extra-dimension candidates. Besides, although we have to make some reasonable assumptions concerning the several parameters in the model, no fine tunning is required in order to get the correct dark matter abundance. We also analyze the prospects for WIMP direct detection by considering recent and projected sensitivities for WIMP-nucleon elastic cross section from CDMS and XENON Collaborations.

Abstract:
Theoretical consistency of the 3-3-1 model with right-handed neutrinos demands that the number of family of fermions be exactly equal to three. In this brief report we show that such theoretical requirement results in a clean and severe bound on the Z-Z$^{\prime}$ mixing angle: $-3,979\times 10^{-3}<φ<1,309\times 10^{-4} {with 90% CL}$.
