On $k$-uniform tight cycles: the Ramsey number for $C_{kn}^{(k)}$ and an approximate Lehel's conjecture
Abstract: A $k$-uniform tight cycle is a $k$-graph with a cyclic ordering of its vertices such that its edges are precisely the sets of $k$ consecutive vertices in that ordering. We show that, for each $k \geq 3$, the Ramsey number of the $k$-uniform tight cycle on $kn$ vertices is $(1+o(1))(k+1)n$. This is an extension to all uniformities of previous results for $k = 3$ by Haxell, Łuczak, Peng, Rödl, Ruciń… ▽ More

A note on Hamilton decompositions of even-regular multigraphs
Abstract: In this note, we prove that every even regular multigraph on $n$ vertices with multiplicity at most $r$ and minimum degree at least $rn/2 + o(n)$ has a Hamilton decomposition. This generalises a result of Vaughan who proved an asymptotic version of the multigraph $1$-factorisation conjecture. We derive our result by proving a more general result which states that dense regular multidigraphs that a… ▽ More

Almost partitioning every $2$-edge-coloured complete $k$-graph into $k$ monochromatic tight cycles
Abstract: A $k$-uniform tight cycle is a $k$-graph with a cyclic order of its vertices such that every $k$ consecutive vertices from an edge. We show that for $k\geq 3$, every red-blue edge-coloured complete $k$-graph on $n$ vertices contains $k$ vertex-disjoint monochromatic tight cycles that together cover $n - o(n)$ vertices.

Perfect matchings in random sparsifications of Dirac hypergraphs
Abstract: For all integers $n \geq k > d \geq 1$, let $m_{d}(k,n)$ be the minimum integer $D \geq 0$ such that every $k$-uniform $n$-vertex hypergraph $\mathcal H$ with minimum $d$-degree $δ_{d}(\mathcal H)$ at least $D$ has an optimal matching. For every fixed integer $k \geq 3$, we show that for $n \in k \mathbb{N}$ and $p = Ω(n^{-k+1} \log n)$, if $\mathcal H$ is an $n$-vertex $k$-uniform hypergraph with… ▽ More

The Ramsey number for 4-uniform tight cycles
Abstract: A $k$-uniform tight cycle is a $k$-graph with a cyclic ordering of its vertices such that its edges are precisely the sets of $k$ consecutive vertices in that ordering. A $k$-uniform tight path is a $k$-graph obtained by deleting a vertex from a $k$-uniform tight cycle. We prove that the Ramsey number for the $4$-uniform tight cycle on $4n$ vertices is $(5 +o(1))n$. This is asymptotically tight. T… ▽ More

$1$-independent percolation on $\mathbb{Z}^2 \times K_n$
Abstract: A random graph model on a host graph H is said to be 1-independent if for every pair of vertex-disjoint subsets A,B of E(H), the state of edges (absent or present) in A is independent of the state of edges in B. For an infinite connected graph H, the 1-independent critical percolation probability $p_{1,c}(H)$ is the infimum of the p in [0,1] such that every 1-independent random graph model on H in… ▽ More

Resilience for tight Hamiltonicity
Abstract: We prove that random hypergraphs are asymptotically almost surely resiliently Hamiltonian. Specifically, for any $γ>0$ and $k\ge3$, we show that asymptotically almost surely, every subgraph of the binomial random $k$-uniform hypergraph $G^{(k)}\big(n,n^{γ-1}\big)$ in which all $(k-1)$-sets are contained in at least $\big(\tfrac12+2γ\big)pn$ edges has a tight Hamilton cycle. Towards Lehel's conjecture for 4-uniform tight cycles
Abstract: A $k$-uniform tight cycle is a $k$-uniform hypergraph with a cyclic ordering of its vertices such that its edges are all the sets of size $k$ formed by $k$ consecutive vertices in the ordering. We prove that every red-blue edge-coloured $K_n^{(4)}$ contains a red and a blue tight cycle that are vertex-disjoint and together cover $n-o(n)$ vertices. Moreover, we prove that every red-blue edge-colour… ▽ More
