Relation between masses of particles and the Fermi constant in the electroweak Standard Model
Abstract: An empirical formula relating the physical masses of elementary particles and the Fermi constant is proposed. Although no mechanism or theoretical model behind this formula is advocated, we seek for a possible physical interpretation. If not a simple numerical coincidence, this formula may motivate theorists to search for relations among the different sectors of the Electroweak Standard model.

The unit of electric charge and the mass hierarchy of heavy particles
Abstract: We propose some empirical formulae relating the masses of the heaviest particles in the standard model (the W,Z,H bosons and the t quark) to the charge of the positron $e$ and the Higgs condensate v. The relations for the masses of gauge bosons m_W = (1+e)v/4 and m_Z=sqrt{(1+e^2)/2}*(v/2) are in excellent agreement with experimental values. By requiring the electroweak standard model to be free… ▽ More

Final State Interactions in B to pi-pi, pi-K decays and constrains on gamma
Abstract: We apply the quasi-elastic assumption of the strong final state interactions to describe the B to pi-pi and B to pi-K branching ratios and CP asymmetries and derive bounds on gamma. We find that small electroweak penguins contributions and values of gamma larger than in standard fit results are favored by data.

Lepton Self-Mass, Higgs Scalar and Heavy Quark Masses
Abstract: This paper has been presented at the DESY Workshop, October 22-24, 1979. Assuming cancellation of lepton self-mass ultraviolet divergences in the SU(2) x U(1) gauge theory, we predict heavy quark t and Higgs scalar masses. In Eq.(6), the mass sum rule necessary to the vanishing of quadratic divergences is formulated.

On the random nature of (prime) number distribution
Abstract: Let pi(x) denote the number of primes smaller or equal to x. We compare sqrt{pi}(x) with sqrt{R}(x) and sqrt{li}(x), where R(x) and li(x) are the Riemann function and the logarithmic integral, respectively. We show a regularity in the distribution of the natural numbers in terms of a phase related to sqrt{pi}-sqrt{R} and indicate how li(x) can cross pi(x) for the first time.

$ππ$ Invariant mass spectrum in $V'\to V~ππ$ and the $f_0(600)$ pole
Abstract: We consider the phenomenological description of the two pion invariant mass spectrum in the $V' \to V ππ$ decays. We study the parametrization of the amplitude involving both $S$ and $D$ wave contributions. From a fit to the two pion decays of the $ Υ(nS)$ and $Ψ(nS)$ we determine the $f_0 (600)$ mass and width to be $m_{f_0}=528 \pm 32$ MeV and $Γ_{f_0}=413\pm 45$ MeV. The mass and width values… ▽ More

A New Basis for QED Bound State Computations
Abstract: A simple method to compute QED bound state properties is presented, in which binding energy effects are treated non-perturbatively. It is shown that to take the effects of all ladder Coulomb photon exchanges into account, one can simply perform the derivative of standard QED amplitudes with respect to the external momentum. For example, the derivative of the light-by-light scattering amplitude g… ▽ More

Soft Photon Spectrum in Orthopositronium and Vector Quarkonium Decays
