Evaluation of Entanglement Entropy in High Energy Elastic Scattering
Abstract: Entanglement of the two scattered particles is expected to occur in elastic collisions, even at high energy where they are in competition with inelastic ones. We study how to evaluate quantitatively the corresponding entanglement entropy $S_{\rm EE}.$ For this sake, we regularize the divergences occurring in the formal derivation of $S_{\rm EE}$ using a regularization procedure acting on the two-p… ▽ More

Profile of a Galactic Spherical Cloud of Self-Gravitating Fermions
Abstract: The field which binds a thermal fermionic cloud is defined as a Hartree integral upon its density. In turn, the density results from the field via a Thomas-Fermi occupation of the local phase space. This defines a complete theory of all properties and observables for the cloud. Positivity and unitarity constraints on dipole gluon distributions
Abstract: In the high-energy domain, gluon transverse-momentum dependent distributions in nuclei obey constraints coming from positivity and unitarity of the colorless QCD dipole distributions through Fourier-Bessel transformations. Using mathematical properties of Fourier-positive functions, we investigate the nature of these constraints which apply to dipole model building and formulation

Next-leading BFKL effects in forward-jet production at HERA
Abstract: We show that next-leading logarithmic (NLL) Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) effects can be tested by the forward-jet cross sections recently measured at HERA. For dσ/dx, the NLL corrections are small which confirms the stability of the BFKL description. The triple differential cross section dσ/dxdk_T^2dQ^2 is sensitive to NLL effects and opens the way for an experimental test of the full BF… ▽ More

A global analysis of inclusive diffractive cross sections at HERA
Abstract: We describe the most recent data on the diffractive structure functions from the H1 and ZEUS Collaborations at HERA using four models. First, a Pomeron Structure Function (PSF) model, in which the Pomeron is considered as an object with parton distribution functions. Then, the Bartels Ellis Kowalski Wusthoff (BEKW) approach is discussed, assuming the simplest perturbative description of the Pome… ▽ More

Gauge/gravity duality and thermalization of a boost-invariant perfect fluid
Abstract: We derive the equation for the quasi-normal modes corresponding to the scalar excitation of a black hole moving away in the fifth dimension. This geometry is the AdS/CFT dual of a boost-invariant expanding perfect fluid in N=4 SUSY Yang-Mills theory at large proper-time. On the gauge-theory side, the dominant solution of the equation describes the decay back to equilibrium of a scalar excitation… ▽ More

The Virtual Photon-Gluon Impact Factor with Massive Quarks and Exact Gluon Kinematics
Abstract: We calculate the impact factor coupling a virtual photon to a gluon via a massive quark-antiquark pair at LL order, but with the imposition of the correct gluon kinematics. Exact analytical results are presented in triple Mellin space with respect to scaled Bjorken x, gluon transverse momentum and heavy quark mass. The application of these results to the calculation of approximate NLL coefficien… ▽ More

Pomeron structure functions from HERA to Tevatron and LHC
Abstract: The proton diffractive structure function $F_2^{D(3)}$ measured in the H1 and ZEUS experiments at HERA are analysed in terms of perturbative QCD in the perspective of the QCD extrapolation to the Tevatron and the LHC. It is shown that both data sets can be well described by a QCD analysis in which point-like parton distributions, evolving according to the next-leading DGLAP equations, are assign… ▽ More

Spin-glass model of QCD near saturation
Abstract: We establish a connection between the cascading of gluon momenta modeled with the diffusive approximation of the Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov kernel and the thermodynamics of directed polymers on a tree with disorder. Using known results on the low-temperature spin-glass phase of this statistical-mechanic problem we describe the dynamical phase space of gluon transverse momenta near saturation… ▽ More

Asymptotic perfect fluid dynamics as a consequence of AdS/CFT
Abstract: We study the dynamics of strongly interacting gauge-theory matter (modelling quark-gluon plasma) in a boost-invariant setting using the AdS/CFT correspondence. Using Fefferman-Graham coordinates and with the help of holographic renormalization, we show that perfect fluid hydrodynamics emerges at large times as the unique nonsingular asymptotic solution of the nonlinear Einstein equations in the… ▽ More

Consequences of strong fluctuations on high-energy QCD evolution
Abstract: We investigate the behaviour of the QCD evolution towards high-energy, in the diffusive approximation, in the limit where the fluctuation contribution is large. Our solution for the equivalent stochastic Fisher equation predicts the amplitude as well as the whole set of correlators in the strong noise limit. The speed of the front and the diffusion coefficient are obtained. We analyse the conseq… ▽ More
