In semiconductors, the identification of do** atomic elements allowing to encode a qubit within spin states is of intense interest for quantum technologies. In transition metal dichalcogenides semiconductors, the strong spin-orbit coupling produces locked spin-valley states with expected long coherence time. Here we study the substitutional Bromine Br\textsubscript{Te} dopant in 2H-MoTe$_2$. Electron spin resonance measurements show that this dopant carries a spin with long-lived nanoseconds coherence time. Using scanning tunneling spectroscopy, we find that the hydrogenic wavefunctions associated with the dopant levels have characteristics spatial modulations that result from their hybridization to the \textbf{Q}-valleys of the conduction band. From a Fourier analysis of the conductance maps, we find that the amplitude and phase of the Fourier components change with energy according to the different irreducible representations of the impurity-site point-group symmetry. These results demonstrate that a dopant can inherit the locked spin-valley properties of the semiconductor and so exhibit long spin-coherence time.

Electrical resistivity, magnetoresistivity, and the Hall effect have been studied in a topological semimetal WTe2 single crystal in the temperature range from 12 to 200 K under magnetic fields up to 9 T. It has been found that quadratic temperature dependences of the electrical resistivity in the absence of a magnetic field and the conductivity in a magnetic field are observed at low temperatures, which is apparently associated with contributions from various scattering mechanisms. Single-band and two-band models were used to analyze data on the Hall effect and magnetoresistivity. These results indicate electron-hole compensation with a slight predominance of electron charge carriers.

In the hadrocharmonium picture a $\bar cc$ state and a light hadron form a bound state. The effective interaction is described in terms of the chromoelectric polarizability of the $\bar cc$ state and energy-momentum-tensor densities of the light hadron. This picture is justified in the heavy quark limit, and may successfully account for a hidden-charm pentaquark state recently observed by LHCb. In this work we extend the formalism to the description of hidden-charm tetraquarks, and address the question of whether the resonant states observed by LHCb in the $J/ψ$-$φ$ spectrum can be described as hadrocharmonia. This is a non-trivial question because nothing is known about the $φ$ meson energy-momentum-tensor densities. With rather general assumptions about energy-momentum-tensor densities in the $φ$-meson we show that a $ψ(2S)$-$φ$ bound state can exist, and obtain a characteristic relation between its mass and width. We show that the tetraquark $X(4274)$ observed by LHCb in $J/ψ$-$φ$ spectrum is a good candidate for a hadrocharmonium. We make predictions which will allow testing this picture. Our method can be generalized to identify other potential hadrocharmonia.

The probably most fundamental information about a particle is contained in the matrix elements of its energy momentum tensor (EMT) which are accessible from hard-exclusive reactions via generalized parton distribution functions. The spin decomposition of the nucleon and Ji sum rule are one example. Less prominent but equally important information is encoded in the stress tensor, related to the spatial components of the EMT, which shows in detail how the strong forces inside the nucleon balance to form a bound state. This provides not only unique insights on nucleon structure. It also leads to fascinating new applications to hadron spectroscopy which allow us to formulate new interpretations of the charmonium-nucleon pentaquarks discovered by LHCb. Recent progress is reviewed in this short overview article.

The pentaquark $P_c^+(4450)$ recently discovered by LHCb has been interpreted as a bound state of $Ψ(2S)$ and nucleon. The charmonium-nucleon interaction which provides the binding mechanism is given, in the heavy quark limit, in terms of charmonium chromoelectric polarizabilities and densities of the nucleon energy-momentum tensor (EMT). In this work we show in model-independent way, by exploring general properties of the effective interaction, that $Ψ(2S)$ can form bound states with nucleon and $Δ$. Using the Skyrme model to evaluate the effective interaction in the large-$N_c$ limit and estimate $1/N_c$ corrections, we confirm the results from prior work which were based on a different effective model (chiral quark soliton model). This shows that the interpretation of $P_c^+(4450)$ is remarkably robust and weakly dependent on the details of the effective theories for the nucleon EMT. We explore the formalism further and present robust predictions of isospin $\frac32$ bound states of $Ψ(2S)$ and $Δ$ with masses around $4.5\,{\rm GeV}$ and widths around $70\,{\rm MeV}$. The approach also predicts broader resonances in the $Ψ(2S)$-$Δ$ channel at $4.9\,{\rm GeV}$ with widths of the order of $150\,{\rm MeV}$. We discuss in which reactions these new isospin $\frac 32$ pentaquarks with hidden charm can be observed.

Baryon-to-meson Transition Distribution Amplitudes (TDAs) encoding valuable new information on hadron structure appear as building blocks in the collinear factorized description for several types of hard exclusive reactions. In this paper, we address the possibility of accessing nucleon-to-pion ($πN$) TDAs from $\bar{p}p \to e^+e^- π^0$ reaction with the future PANDA detector at the FAIR facility. At high center of mass energy and high invariant mass squared of the lepton pair $q^2$, the amplitude of the signal channel $\bar{p}p \to e^+e^- π^0$ admits a QCD factorized description in terms of $πN$ TDAs and nucleon Distribution Amplitudes (DAs) in the forward and backward kinematic regimes. Assuming the validity of this factorized description, we perform feasibility studies for measuring $\bar{p}p \to e^+e^- π^0$ with the PANDA detector. Detailed simulations on signal reconstruction efficiency as well as on rejection of the most severe background channel, i.e. $\bar{p}p \to π^+π^- π^0$ were performed for the center of mass energy squared $s = 5$ GeV$^2$ and $s = 10$ GeV$^2$, in the kinematic regions $3.0 < q^2 < 4.3$ GeV$^2$ and $5 < q^2 < 9$ GeV$^2$, respectively, with a neutral pion scattered in the forward or backward cone $| \cosθ_{π^0}| > 0.5 $ in the proton-antiproton center of mass frame. Results of the simulation show that the particle identification capabilities of the PANDA detector will allow to achieve a background rejection factor of $5\cdot 10^7$ ($1\cdot 10^7$) at low (high) $q^2$ for $s=5$ GeV$^2$, and of $1\cdot 10^8$ ($6\cdot 10^6$) at low (high) $q^2$ for $s=10$ GeV$^2$, while kee** the signal reconstruction efficiency at around $40\%$. At both energies, a clean lepton signal can be reconstructed with the expected statistics corresponding to $2$ fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity. (.../...)

The STT encloses a Micro-Vertex-Detector (MVD) for the inner tracking and is followed in beam direction by a set of GEM-stations. The tasks of the STT are the measurement of the particle momentum from the reconstructed trajectory and the measurement of the specific energy-loss for a particle identification. Dedicated simulations with full analysis studies of certain proton-antiproton reactions, identified as being benchmark tests for the whole PANDA scientific program, have been performed to test the STT layout and performance. The results are presented, and the time lines to construct the STT are described.

We derive expression for the large b_perp asymptotic of the 3D parton distributions q(x,b_perp) in the pion. The asymptotic depends exclusively on the mass scales F_pi and m_pi. Therefore it provides us with a nice example of a strict non-perturbative result for the partonic structure of Nambu-Goldstone bosons in QCD. Analyzing the x-dependent pion transverse radius we reveal a new phenomenon of "chiral inflation"-- in the parametrically wide region of Bjorken x (m_pi^2/(4 pi F_pi)^2 << x << 1) the pion radius grows exponentially fast with the rapidity eta=ln(1/x). We show that the partons in this interval of Bjorken x contribute to famous logarithmic divergency of the pion radius. In other words, the partonic picture of the classical result of ChPT is provided. The phenomenon of the chiral inflation is at variance with the Gribov diffusion, because of long-range interaction of the Nambu-Goldstone bosons.
