Exponential Error Reduction for Glueball Calculations Using a Two-Level Algorithm in Pure Gauge Theory
Abstract: This study explores the application of a two-level algorithm to enhance the signal-to-noise ratio of glueball calculations in four-dimensional $\mathrm{SU(3)}$ pure gauge theory. Our findings demonstrate that the statistical errors exhibit an exponential reduction, enabling reliable extraction of effective masses at distances where current standard methods would demand exponentially more samples.… ▽ More

The quark-mass dependence of the potential energy between static colour sources in the QCD vacuum with light and strange quarks
Abstract: The low-lying energy spectrum of the static-colour-source-anti-source system in a vacuum containing light and strange quarks is computed using lattice QCD for a range of different light quark masses. The resulting levels are described using a simple model Hamiltonian and the parameters in this model are extrapolated to the physical light-quark masses. Hybrid static potentials from Laplacian Eigenmodes
Abstract: We present a method for computing hybrid static quark-antiquark potentials in lattice QCD based on Laplace trial states. They are formed by eigenvector components of the covariant lattice Laplace operator and their covariant derivatives. Performance of two-level sampling for the glueball spectrum in pure gauge theory
Abstract: The computation of the glueball spectrum is particularly challenging due to the rapid decay of the signal-to-noise ratio of the correlation functions. To address this issue, advanced techniques such as gauge link smearing and the variational method are commonly employed to identify the spectrum before the signal diminishes significantly. However, a significant improvement in the signal-to-noise ra… ▽ More

Multi-hadron states in Lattice QCD spectroscopy
Abstract: The ability to reliably measure the energy of an excited hadron in Lattice QCD simulations hinges on the accurate determination of all lower-lying energies in the same symmetry channel. These include not only single-particle energies, but also the energies of multi-hadron states. This talk deals with the determination of multi-hadron energies in Lattice QCD. The group-theoretical derivation of lat… ▽ More

The excited hadron spectrum in lattice QCD using a new method of estimating quark propagation
Abstract: Progress in determining the spectrum of excited baryons and mesons in lattice QCD is described. Large sets of carefully-designed hadron operators have been studied and their effectiveness in facilitating the extraction of excited-state energies is demonstrated. A new method of stochastically estimating the low-lying effects of quark propagation is proposed which will allow reliable determination… ▽ More

Excited-Nucleon Spectroscopy with 2+1 Fermion Flavors
Abstract: We present progress made by the Hadron Spectrum Collaboration (HSC) in determining the tower of excited nucleon states using 2+1-flavor anisotropic clover lattices. The HSC has been investigating interpolating operators projected into irreducible representations of the cubic group in order to better calculate two-point correlators for nucleon spectroscopy; results are published for quenched and… ▽ More

Two-particle Correlation Functions with Distilled Propagators
Abstract: Correlation functions of the simplest multi-particle state will be presented using distilled quark propagators. The I=2 pi-pi state can be simulated without computing disconnected diagrams and thus is the simplest two-particle state that can be studied with quark sources placed on a single time-slice. We study the quality of the signals of this pi-pi correlation function using the quark-smearing… ▽ More

An anisotropic preconditioning for the Wilson fermion matrix on the lattice
Abstract: A preconditioning for the Wilson fermion matrix on the lattice is defined which is particularly suited to the case when the temporal lattice spacing is much smaller than the spatial one. Details on the implementation of the scheme are given. The method is tested in numerical studies of QCD on anisotropic lattices.

Highly excited and exotic meson spectrum from dynamical lattice QCD
Abstract: Using a new quark-field construction algorithm and a large variational basis of operators, we extract a highly excited isovector meson spectrum on dynamical anisotropic lattices. We show how carefully constructed operators can be used to reliably identify the continuum spin of extracted states, overcoming the reduced cubic symmetry of the lattice. Using this method we extract, with confidence, e… ▽ More
