We introduce two new classes of single-valued contractions of polynomial type defined on a metric space. For the first one, called the class of polynomial contractions, we establish two fixed point theorems. Namely, we first consider the case when the map** is continuous. Next, we weaken the continuity condition. In particular, we recover Banach's fixed point theorem. The second class, called the class of almost polynomial contractions, includes the class of almost contractions introduced by Berinde [Nonlinear Analysis Forum. 9(1) (2004) 43--53]. A fixed point theorem is established for almost polynomial contractions. The obtained result generalizes that derived by Berinde in the above reference. Several examples showing that our generalizations are significant, are provided.

We are concerned with the study of fixed points for map**s $T: X\to X$, where $(X,G)$ is a $G$-metric space in the sense of Mustafa and Sims. After the publication of the paper [Journal of Nonlinear and Convex Analysis. 7(2) (2006) 289--297] by Mustafa and Sims, a great interest was devoted to the study of fixed points in $G$-metric spaces. In 2012, the first and third authors observed that several fixed point theorems established in $G$-metric spaces are immediate consequences of known fixed point theorems in standard metric spaces. This observation demotivated the investigation of fixed points in $G$-metric spaces. In this paper, we open new directions in fixed point theory in $G$-metric spaces. Namely, we establish new versions of the Banach, Kannan and Reich fixed point theorems in $G$-metric spaces. We point out that the approach used by the first and third authors [Fixed Point Theory Appl. 2012 (2012) 1--7] is inapplicable in the present study. We also provide some interesting applications related to map**s contracting perimeters of triangles.

We prove that these contractions are not necessarily continuous and have a unique fixed point under certain conditions. Moreover, we extend our class to generalized orbital triangular Kannan contractions and generalized orbital triangular Chatterjea contractions.

This paper focuses on the hypothesis of optimizing time series predictions using fractal interpolation techniques. In general, the accuracy of machine learning model predictions is closely related to the quality and quantitative aspects of the data used, following the principle of \textit{garbage-in, garbage-out}. In order to quantitatively and qualitatively augment datasets, one of the most prevalent concerns of data scientists is to generate synthetic data, which should follow as closely as possible the actual pattern of the original data.
This study proposes three different data augmentation strategies based on fractal interpolation, namely the \textit{Closest Hurst Strategy}, \textit{Closest Values Strategy} and \textit{Formula Strategy}. To validate the strategies, we used four public datasets from the literature, as well as a private dataset obtained from meteorological records in the city of Brasov, Romania. The prediction results obtained with the LSTM model using the presented interpolation strategies showed a significant accuracy improvement compared to the raw datasets, thus providing a possible answer to practical problems in the field of remote sensing and sensor sensitivity. Moreover, our methodologies answer some optimization-related open questions for the fractal interpolation step using \textit{Optuna} framework.

Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to generalize the results on expansive map**s of Yesilkaya and Aydin from \cite{Yesilkaya}. We give some fixed point results for q-expansive map**s in metric spaces and prove some fixed point theorems for this class of map**s. Finally, we present some examples to support the new results.

The paper presents an innovative method for tourist route planning inside a destination. The necessity of reorganizing the tourist routes within a destination comes as an immediate response to the Covid-19 crisis. The implementation of the method inside tourist destinations can be an important advantage in transforming a destination into a safer destination in times of Covid-19 and post-Covid-19. The existing trend of shortening the tourist stay length has been accelerated while the epidemic became a pandemic. Moreover, the wariness for future pandemics has brought to the spotlight the issue of overcrowded attractions inside a destination at certain moments. The method proposed in this paper proposes a backtracking algorithm, more precisely an adaptation of the travelling salesman problem. The method presented aims to facilitate the navigation inside a destination and to revive certain less-visited sightseeing spots inside a destination while facilitating the social distancing measures imposed by Covid-19.

Abstract:
The main result of this paper states that for a given countable system of data, there exists a countable iterated function system consisting of Rakotch contractions, such that its attractor is the graph of a fractal interpolation function corresponding to the given countable system of data.
