Deep neural network (DNN) models are wellknown to easily misclassify prediction results by using input images with small perturbations, called adversarial examples. In this paper, we propose a novel adversarial detector, which consists of a robust classifier and a plain one, to highly detect adversarial examples. The proposed adversarial detector is carried out in accordance with the logits of plain and robust classifiers. In an experiment, the proposed detector is demonstrated to outperform a state-of-the-art detector without any robust classifier.

In this paper, we propose a novel CycleGAN without checkerboard artifacts for counter-forensics of fake-image detection. Recent rapid advances in image manipulation tools and deep image synthesis techniques, such as Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) have easily generated fake images, so detecting manipulated images has become an urgent issue. Most state-of-the-art forgery detection methods assume that images include checkerboard artifacts which are generated by using DNNs. Accordingly, we propose a novel CycleGAN without any checkerboard artifacts for counter-forensics of fake-mage detection methods for the first time, as an example of GANs without checkerboard artifacts.

In order to clarify the mechanism associated with pressure/magnetic-field-induced giant ferroelectric polarization in TbMnO3, this work investigated changes in magnetic ordering brought about by variations in temperature, magnetic field, and pressure. This was accomplished by means of neutron diffraction analyses under high pressures and high magnetic fields, employing a single crystal. The incommensurate magnetic ordering of a cycloid structure was found to be stable below the reported critical pressure of 4.5 GPa. In contrast, a commensurate E-type spin ordering of Mn spins and a noncollinear configuration of Tb spins with k=(0,1/2,0) appeared above 4.5 GPa. The application of a magnetic field along the a axis (H_{||a}) under pressure induces a k=(0,0,0)antiferromagnetic structure in the case of Tb spins above H_{||a}, enhancing the ferroelectric polarization, while the E-type ordering of Mn spins is stable even above the critical field. From the present experimental findings, we conclude that the E-type ordering of Mn spins induces giant ferroelectric polarization through an exchange striction mechanism. The H_{||a}-induced polarization enhancement can be understood by considering that the polarization, reduced by the polar ordering of Tb moments in a zero field, can be recovered through a field-induced change to nonpolar k=(0,0,0) ordering at H_{||a} ~ 2T.

We succeeded in observing pressure-suppressed magnetic long range ordering (LRO) in the triangular lattice antiferromagnet CuFeO$_{2}$, using neutron diffraction experiments under an isotropic pressure. The magnetic LRO of the four-sublattice ground state under ambient pressure in CuFeO$_{2}$ almost disappears at the high pressure of 7.9 GPa, and is replaced by an incommensurate order with temperature-independent wave number of (0.192 0.192 1.5). The incommensurate wave number observed at 7.9 GPa corresponds to that observed just above the temperature at which lattice distortion and magnetic LRO simultaneously occur under ambient pressure. Therefore, the long-range magnetic ordering disappears because the high pressure suppressed the lattice distortion that otherwise relieves spin frustration and leads the spin system to LRO.

KCuCl$_3$ is a three dimensionally coupled spin dimer system, which undergoes a pressure-induced quantum phase transition from a gapped ground state to an antiferromagnetic state at a critical pressure of $P_{\rm c} \simeq 8.2$ kbar. Magnetic excitations in KCuCl$_3$ at a hydrostatic pressure of 4.7 kbar have been investigated by conducting neutron inelastic scattering experiments using a newly designed cylindrical high-pressure clamp cell. A well-defined single excitation mode is observed. The softening of the excitation mode due to the applied pressure is clearly observed. From the analysis of the dispersion relations, it is found that an intradimer interaction decreases under hydrostatic pressure, while most interdimer interactions increase.

Magnetization and neutron elastic scattering measurements under a hydrostatic pressure were performed on KCuCl3, which is a three-dimensionally coupled spin dimer system with a gapped ground state. It was found that an intradimer interaction decreases with increasing pressure, while the sum of interdimer interactions increases. This leads to the shrinkage of spin gap. A quantum phase transition from a gapped state to an antiferromagnetic state occurs at Pc ? 8.2 kbar. For P > P c, magnetic Bragg reflections were observed at reciprocal lattice points equivalent to those for the lowest magnetic excitation at zero pressure. This confirms that the spin gap decreases and closes under applied pressure.

Pressure-induced magnetic ordering occurs at the transition temperature $T_{\rm N}=16.9$ K. As in the field-induced and impurity-induced magnetic ordered phases, the ordered moments lie in the $a-c$ plane just below $T_{\rm N}$. An additional spin reorientation (SR) phase transition was observed at $T_{\rm SR}=10$ K, where the ordered moments start to incline toward the b-axis. The temperature variations of the direction and the magnitude of the ordered moments were also investigated.

Neutron elastic scattering measurements have been performed under the hydrostatic pressure in order to investigate the spin structure of the pressure-induced magnetic ordering in the spin gap system TlCuCl$_3$. Below the ordering temperature $T_{\rm N}=16.9$ K for the hydrostatic pressure $P=1.48$ GPa, magnetic Bragg reflections were observed at the reciprocal lattice points ${\mib Q}=(h, 0, l)$ with integer $h$ and odd $l$, which are equivalent to those points with the lowest magnetic excitation energy at ambient pressure. This indicates that the spin gap closes due to the applied pressure. The spin structure of the pressure-induced magnetic ordered state for $P=1.48$ GPa was determined.
