A unified approach to inequalities for K-functionals and moduli of smoothness
Abstract: The paper provides a detailed study of crucial inequalities for smoothness and interpolation characteristics in rearrangement invariant Banach function spaces. We present a unified approach based on Holmstedt formulas to obtain these estimates. As examples, we derive new inequalities for moduli of smoothness and K-functionals in various Lorentz spaces.

Optimal local embeddings of Besov spaces involving only slowly varying smoothness
Abstract: The aim of the paper is to establish (local) optimal embeddings of Besov spaces $B^{0,b}_{p,r}$ involving only a slowly varying smoothness $b$. In general, our target spaces are outside of the scale of Lorentz-Karamata spaces and are related to small Lebesgue spaces. In particular, we improve results from [CGO11b], where the targets are (local) Lorentz-Karamata spaces. To derive such results, we a… ▽ More

Compactness in quasi-Banach function spaces and applications to compact embeddings of Besov-type spaces
Abstract: There are two main aims of the paper. The first one is to extend the criterion for the precompactness of sets in Banach function spaces to the setting of quasi-Banach function spaces. The second one is to extend the criterion for the precompactness of sets in the Lebesgue spaces $L_p(\mathbb R^n)$, $1 \leq p < \infty$, to the so-called power quasi-Banach function spaces. These criteria are applied… ▽ More
