In this comment, we showed that the line element ("metric'') worked by Jusufi (Eur. Phys. J. C 76: 332, 2016) is incorrect since he worked with a spinning cosmic string with torsion in $(2+1)$-dimensions (and in polar coordinates), which cannot happen. Indeed, as in $(2+1)$-dimensions there are no screw dislocations or screw torsion (a consequence of the absence of the third spatial dimension, i.e., of the $z$-axis), and being a cosmic string with torsion a type of screw dislocation, but of cosmic origin (i.e., are cosmic dislocations), implies that a $(2+1)$-dimensional cosmic string does not have/carry torsion (since $dz=0$). Therefore, the line element worked by Jusufi is physically incoherent/unacceptable and inappropriate for the research/study.

In this paper, we determine the bound-state solutions for Dirac fermions with electric dipole moment (EDM) and position-dependent mass (PDM) in the presence of a radial magnetic field generated by magnetic monopoles. To achieve this, we work with the (2+1)-dimensional (DE) Dirac equation with nonminimal coupling in polar coordinates. Posteriorly, we obtain a second-order differential equation via quadratic DE (simplified by a similarity transformation). Solving this differential equation through a change of variable and the asymptotic behavior, we obtain a generalized Laguerre equation. From this, we obtain the bound-state solutions of the system, given by the two-component Dirac spinor and by the relativistic energy spectrum. So, we note that such spinor is written in terms of the generalized Laguerre polynomials, and such spectrum (for a fermion and an antifermion) is quantized in terms of the radial and total magnetic quantum numbers $n$ and $m_j$, and explicitly depends on the EDM $d$, PDM parameter $κ$, magnetic charge density $λ_m$, and on the spinorial parameter $s$. In particular, the quantization is a direct result of the existence of $κ$ (i.e., $κ$ acts as a kind of ``external field or potential''). Besides, we discuss in detail the characteristics of the spectrum as well as graphically analyze the behavior of the spectrum as a function of $κ$ and $λ_m$ for three different values of $n$ (ground state and the first two excited states).

In this paper, we study the relativistic energy spectrum for Dirac fermions under rainbow gravity effects in the $(3+1)$-dimensional Bonnor-Melvin-Lambda spacetime, where we work with the curved Dirac equation in cylindrical coordinates. Using the tetrads formalism of General Relativity and considering a first-order approximation for the trigonometric functions, we obtain a Bessel equation. To solve this differential equation, we also consider a region where a hard-wall confining potential is present (i.e., some finite distance where the radial wave function is null). In other words, we define a second boundary condition (Dirichlet boundary condition) to achieve the quantization of the energy. Consequently, we obtain the spectrum for a fermion/antifermion, which is quantized in terms of quantum numbers $n$, $m_j$ and $m_s$, where $n$ is the radial quantum number, $m_j$ is the total magnetic quantum number, $m_s$ is the spin magnetic quantum number, and explicitly depends on the rainbow functions $F(ξ)$ and $G(ξ)$, curvature parameter $α$, cosmological constant $Λ$, fixed radius $r_0$, and on the rest energy $m_0$, and $z$-momentum $p_z$. So, analyzing this spectrum according to the values of $m_j$ and $m_s$, we see that for $m_j>0$ with $m_s=-1/2$ (positive angular momentum and spin down), and for $m_j<0$ with $m_s=+1/2$ (negative angular momentum and spin up), the spectrum is the same. Besides, we graphically analyze in detail the behavior of the spectrum for the three scenarios of rainbow gravity as a function of $Λ$, $r_0$, and $α$ for three different values of $n$ (ground state and the first two excited states).

In this paper, we determine the relativistic and nonrelativistic energy levels for Dirac fermions in a spinning conical Gödel-type spacetime in $(2+1)$-dimensions, where we work with the curved Dirac equation in polar coordinates and we use the tetrads formalism. Solving a second-order differential equation for the two components of the Dirac spinor, we obtain a generalized Laguerre equation, and the relativistic energy levels of the fermion and antifermion, where such levels are quantized in terms of the radial and total magnetic quantum numbers $n$ and $m_j$, and explicitly depends on the spin parameter $s$ (describes the ``spin''), spinorial parameter $u$ (describes the two components of the spinor), curvature and rotation parameters $α$ and $β$ (describes the conical curvature and the angular momentum of the spinning cosmic string), and on the vorticity parameter $Ω$ (describes the Gödel-type spacetime). In particular, the quantization is a direct result of the existence of $Ω$ (i.e., $Ω$ acts as a kind of ``external field or potential''). We see that for $m_j>0$, the energy levels do not depend on $s$ and $u$; however, depend on $n$, $m_j$, $α$, and $β$. In this case, $α$ breaks the degeneracy of the energy levels and such levels can increase infinitely in the limit $\frac{4Ωβ}α\to 1$. Already for $m_j<0$, we see that the energy levels depends on $s$, $u$ and $n$; however, it no longer depends on $m_j$, $α$ and $β$. In this case, it is as if the fermion ``lives only in a flat Gödel-type spacetime''. Besides, we also study the low-energy or nonrelativistic limit of the system. In both cases (relativistic and nonrelativistic), we graphically analyze the behavior of energy levels as a function of $Ω$, $α$, and $β$ for three different values of $n$ (ground state and the first two excited states).

Coffee which is prepared from the grinded roasted seeds of harvested coffee cherries, is one of the most consumed beverage and traded commodity, globally. To manually monitor the coffee field regularly, and inform about plant and soil health, as well as estimate yield and harvesting time, is labor-intensive, time-consuming and error-prone. Some recent studies have developed sensors for estimating coffee yield at the time of harvest, however a more inclusive and applicable technology to remotely monitor multiple parameters of the field and estimate coffee yield and quality even at pre-harvest stage, was missing. Following precision agriculture approach, we employed machine learning algorithm YOLO, for image processing of coffee plant. In this study, the latest version of the state-of-the-art algorithm YOLOv7 was trained with 324 annotated images followed by its evaluation with 82 unannotated images as test data. Next, as an innovative approach for annotating the training data, we trained K-means models which led to machine-generated color classes of coffee fruit and could thus characterize the informed objects in the image. Finally, we attempted to develop an AI-based handy mobile application which would not only efficiently predict harvest time, estimate coffee yield and quality, but also inform about plant health. Resultantly, the developed model efficiently analyzed the test data with a mean average precision of 0.89. Strikingly, our innovative semi-supervised method with an mean average precision of 0.77 for multi-class mode surpassed the supervised method with mean average precision of only 0.60, leading to faster and more accurate annotation. The mobile application we designed based on the developed code, was named CoffeApp, which possesses multiple features of analyzing fruit from the image taken by phone camera with in field and can thus track fruit ripening in real time.

In this paper, we study the thermodynamic properties of the noncommutative quantum Hall effect (NCQHE) with anomalous magnetic moment (AMM) for both relativistic and nonrelativistic cases in the high temperatures regime. Thus, we use the canonical ensemble for a set of $N$-particles in contact with a thermal bath. Next, we explicitly determine the thermodynamic properties of our interest, namely: the Helmholtz free energy, the entropy, the mean energy, and the heat capacity. In order to perform the calculations, we work with the Euler-MacLaurin formula to construct the partition function of the system. In that way, we plotted the graphs of thermodynamic properties as a function of temperature for six different values of the magnetic field and of the NC parameters. As a result, we note that the Helmholtz free energy decreases with the temperature, increases with the NC parameters, and can decrease or increase for certain values of the magnetic field, white that the entropy increases with the temperature, decreases with the NC parameters, and can decrease or increase for certain values of the magnetic field. Besides, the mean energy increases linearly with the temperature and its values for the relativistic case are twice of the nonrelativistic case, consequently, the heat capacity for the relativistic case is twice of the nonrelativistic case, where both are constants, and therefore, satisfying the so-called Dulong-Petit law. Finally, we also verify that there is no influence of the AMM on the thermodynamic properties of the system.

In this paper, we investigate the thermodynamic properties of the noncommutative Dirac oscillator with a permanent electric dipole moment in the presence of an electromagnetic field in contact with a heat bath. Using the canonical ensemble, we determine the properties for both relativistic and nonrelativistic cases through the \textit{Euler-MacLaurin} formula in the high temperatures regime. In particular, the main properties are: the Helmholtz free energy, the entropy, the mean energy, and the heat capacity. Next, we analyze via 2D graphs the behavior of the properties as a function of temperature. As a result, we note that the Helmholtz free energy decreases with the temperature and $ω_θ$, and increases with $ω$, $\Tildeω$, $ω_η$, where $ω$ is the frequency of the oscillator, $\Tildeω$ is a type of cyclotron frequency, and $ω_θ$ and $ω_η$ are the noncommutative frequencies of position and momentum. With respect to entropy, we note an increase with the temperature and $ω_θ$, and a decrease with $ω$, $\Tildeω$, $ω_η$. Now, with respect to mean energy, we note that such property increases linearly with the temperature, and their values for the relativistic case are twice that of the nonrelativistic case. As a direct consequence of this, the value of the heat capacity for the relativistic case is also twice that of the nonrelativistic case, and both are constants, thus satisfying the \textit{Dulong-Petit} law. Lastly, we also note that the electric field does not influence the properties in any way.

Next, we determine the bound-state solutions of the system, given by the two-component Dirac spinor and the relativistic energy spectrum. In the present paper, we investigate the bound-state solutions of the noncommutative quantum Hall effect (NCQHE) with anomalous magnetic moment (AMM) in three different relativistic scenarios, namely: the Minkowski spacetime (inertial flat case), the spinning cosmic string (CS) spacetime (inertial curved case), and the spinning CS spacetime with noninertial effects (noninertial curved case). In particular, in the first two scenarios, we have an inertial frame, while in the third, we have a rotating frame. With respect to bound-state solutions, we focus primarily on eigenfunctions (Dirac spinor and wave function) and on energy eigenvalues (Landau levels), where we use the flat and curved Dirac equation in polar coordinates to reach such solutions. However, unlike the literature, here we consider a CS with an angular momentum non-null and also the NC of the positions, and therefore, we seek a more general description for the QHE. Once the solutions are obtained, we discuss the influence of all parameters and physical quantities on relativistic energy levels. Naphthalene (C10H8) is the simplest polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) and an important component in a series of astrochemical reactions involving hydrocarbons. Its molecular charge state affects the stability of its isomeric structures, which is specially relevant in ionised astrophysical environments. We thus perform an extensive computational search for low-energy molecular structures of neutral, singly, and multiply charged naphthalene and its isomers with charge states +q = 0-4 and investigate their geometric properties and bonding situations. We find that isomerisation reactions should be frequent for higher charged states and that open chains dominate their low-energy structures. We compute both the scaled-harmonic and anharmonic infrared spectra of selected low-energy species and provide the calculated scaling factors for the naphthalene neutral, cation, and dication global minima. All simulated spectra reproduce satisfactorily the experimental data and, thus, are adequate for aiding observations. Moreover, the potential presence of these species in the emission spectra of the circumnuclear regions of active galactic nuclei (AGNs), with high energetic X-ray photon fluxes, is explored using the experimental value of the naphthalene photodissociation cross-section, σ_{ph-d}, to determine its half-life, t_{1/2}, at a photon energy of 2.5 keV in a set of relevant sources. Finally, we show that the computed IR bands of the triply and quadruply charged species are able to reproduce some features of the selected AGN sources.

Due to its volumetric expansion, this phase could counteract the linear shrinkage observed when macroporous ceramics are fired. In order to evaluate the impact of each Ca$^{2+}$ source on the physical properties, different formulations were processed and characterized for their total porosity, crushing strength and linear shrinkage. CaCO$_3$-containing samples presented high porosity and small dimensional changes after thermal treatment. Thus, a novel composition was formulated with $CaCO_3$ in order to result in 100 % CA$_6$ on thermodynamic equilibrium. Besides the usual properties, its $\textit{in situ}$ changes in the hot elastic modulus ($E_{\rm in\ situ}$) and thermal conductivity ($k_{\rm eff}$), were evaluated. This composition presented promising results, as a constant and low $k_{\rm eff}$, low linear expansion and Young modulus increase at low temperatures. These properties make it possible to produce more efficient insulators with better performance in service.

This paper surveys the evolution of industrial concentration of the Brazilian automotive market as well as its positioning in the worldmarket. Data available by OICA (International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers) were used to better understand the characteristics of the Brazilian market on the world stage. A cluster analysis algorithm (by the k-means technique) ranks Brazil with a concentration profile in a group of countries like US and South Korea, in contrast to countries such as Germany, Canada and Japan, or even France and Italy. It is rather usual to characterize the market structure through industrial concentration indices: we revisit CR ratios (concentration ratios), HHI (Herfindahl-Hirschman index), B (Rosenbluth index), and CCI (Horvath comprehensive concentration index). Data of Anfavea-Brazil (Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores) were used to estimate these indices in the period 2012-2018 for the national automobile industry. The values obtained indicate that by 1998 the automotive sector was behaving as an oligopoly-differentiated. However, the values of more recent periods (particularly CR4) strongly indicate that the sector is currently moderately concentrated and is changing for a quasi-devolved market.

In this paper, we study the influence of topological and noninertial effects on a Dirac particle confined in an Aharonov-Bohm (AB) ring. Next, we explicitly determine the Dirac spinor and the energy spectrum for the relativistic bound states. We observe that this spectrum depends on the quantum number $n$, magnetic flux $Φ$ of the ring, angular velocity $ω$ associated to the noninertial effects of a rotating frame, and on the deficit angle $η$ associated to the topological effects of a cosmic string. We verified that this spectrum is a periodic function and grows in values as a function of $n$, $Φ$, $ω$, and $η$. In the nonrelativistic limit, we obtain the equation of motion for the particle, where now the topological effects are generated by a conic space. However, unlike relativistic case, the spectrum of this equation depends linearly on the velocity $ω$ and decreases in values as a function of $ω$. Comparing our results with other works, we note that our problem generalizes some particular cases of the literature. For instance, in the absence of the topological and noninertial effects ($η=1$ and $ω=0$) we recover the usual spectrum of a particle confined in an AB ring ($Φ\neq{0}$) or in an 1D quantum ring ($Φ=0$).

In this work, we analyze the influence of noninertial and spin effects on the dynamics of the 2D Dirac oscillator in the magnetic cosmic string background. To model this background, we consider a uniform magnetic field, the Aharonov-Bohm effect, and a parameter $η$ generated by a cosmic string. Posteriorly, we determine the bound-state solutions of the system: the Dirac spinor and the relativistic energy spectrum. We verified that this spinor is written in terms of the generalized Laguerre polynomials and this spectrum depends on the effective quantum number $N_r$, angular velocity $Ω$ and parameter $s$ associated to the noninertial and spin effects, magnetic flux $Φ$, cyclotron frequency $ω_c$, zero-point energy $E_0$, and on the deficit angle $η$. In particular, we note that besides this spectrum to be a periodic function and asymmetric, its values infinitely increase when $η\to 0$ or $N_r=ω_c=Ω\to\infty$. We also note that the energies of the antiparticle with spin down are larger than of the particle with spin up or down. In the nonrelativistic limit, we get the Schrödinger-Pauli oscillator with two types of couplings: the spin-orbit coupling and the spin-rotation coupling, and two Hamiltonians: one quantum harmonic oscillator-type and other Zeeman-type. Finally, we compare our results with other works, where we verified that our problem generalizes some particular cases of the literature when $Ω$, $ω_c$, $Φ$, $s$ or $η$ are excluded from the system.

In this paper, we investigate the thermodynamic properties of an Aharonov-Bohm (AB) quantum ring in a heat bath for both relativistic and non-relativistic cases. For accomplishing this, we used the partition function which was obtained numerically using the Euler-Maclaurin formula. In particular, we determined the energy spectra as well as the behavior of the main thermodynamic functions of the canonical ensemble, namely, the Helmholtz free energy, the mean energy, the entropy and the heat capacity. The so-called Dulong-Petit law was verified only for the relativistic case. We noticed that in the low energy regime, the relativistic thermodynamic functions are reduced to the non-relativistic case as well.

To solve our system, we use the left-handed and right-handed projection operators. Next, we explicitly obtain the eigenfunctions and the energy spectrum of the particle. We verify that these eigenfunctions are written in terms of the generalized Laguerre polynomials and the energy spectrum depends on the parameters Z, $Φ_{AB}$ and $κ$. We notice that the parameter $κ$ has the function of increasing the values of the energy levels of the system. In addition, the usual ABC system is recovered when one considers the limit of constant mass ($κ\to{0}$). Moreover, also we note that even in the absence of ABC system ($Z=Φ_{AB}=0$), the particle with PDM still has a discrete energy spectrum.

We set up our system in two different scenarios: in the Minkowski spacetime and the cosmic string spacetime. In both cases, we solve exactly the Dirac oscillator and we determine the energy spectrum and the eigenfunctions for the bound states. We verify that in the Minkowski spacetime, the Dirac oscillator spectrum depends linearly on the strength of the magnetic field $B$, and on the Aharonov-Casher phase. In addition, we explicitly obtain the corrections on the Dirac spinors and the energy levels due to the curvature effects in the cosmic string background. Finally, we investigate the nonrelativistic limit and compare our results with those found in the literature.

In this work, we study of the (2+1)-dimensional Dirac oscillator in the presence of a homogeneous magnetic field in an Aharonov-Bohm-Coulomb system. To solve our system, we apply the $left$-$handed$ and $right$-$handed$ projection operators in the Dirac oscillator to obtain a biconfluent Heun equation. Next, we explicitly determine the energy spectrum for the bound states of the system and their exact dependence on the cyclotron frequency $ω_c$ and on the parameters $Z$ and $Φ_{AB}$ that characterize the Aharonov-Bohm-Coulomb system. As a result, we observe that by adjusting the frequency of the Dirac oscillator to resonate with the cyclotron half-frequency the energy spectrum reduces to the rest energy of the particle. Also, we determine the exact eigenfunctions, angular frequencies, and energy levels of the Dirac oscillator for the ground state ($n=1$) and the first excited state ($n=2$). In this case, the energy levels do not depend on the homogeneous magnetic field, and the angular frequencies are real and positive quantities, increase quadratically with the energy and linearly with $ω_{c}$.

We theoretically studied the implementation of a quantum memory and an optical transistor in a system composed by a single atom trapped inside a high finesse cavity. In order to store and map the quantum state of an input pulse onto internal states of the single atom (quantum memory) we employ the electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) phenomenon (which can work out as an optical transistor) where the information can be transferred to the dark state of the atom modelled by a three-level system in a Λ-type configuration. In our model we consider a suitable temporal shape for the control field that ensures the adiabaticity of the storage process and retrieval of the probe pulse. The dynamic of the field inside the cavity was obtained by master equation approach, while the outside field was calculated by input-output formalism. We have analysed two different setups: i) two-sided and ii) single-sided cavities. While the first setup is the most appropriate and commonly used to observe cavity-EIT in the transmission spectrum, thus the best configuration for the optical transistor, the maximum quantum memory efficiency can not reach reasonable values, being limited to 50% for symmetric cavities. On the other hand, with single-sided cavity the quantum memory efficiency increases considerably and can reach values close to 100% in the strong atom-field coupling regime. However this specific setup is not favourable to observe the cavity-EIT effect in the transmission spectrum and then it is not appropriate to control the transmission of light pulses.

Systems of interacting classical harmonic oscillators have received considerable attention in the last years as analog models for describing electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) and associated phenomena. We review these models and investigate their validity for a variety of physical systems using two- and three-coupled harmonic oscillators. From the simplest EIT-$Λ$ configuration and two-coupled single cavity modes we show that each atomic dipole-allowed transition and a single cavity mode can be represented by a damped harmonic oscillator. Thus, we have established a one-to-one correspondence between the classical and quantum dynamical variables. We show the limiting conditions and the equivalent for the EIT dark state in the mechanical system. This correspondence is extended to other systems that present EIT-related phenomena. Examples of such systems are two- and three-level (cavity EIT) atoms interacting with a single mode of an optical cavity, and four-level atoms in a inverted-Y and tripod configurations. The established equivalence between the mechanical and the cavity EIT systems, presented here for the first time, has been corroborated by experimental data. The analysis of the probe response of all these systems also brings to light a physical interpretation for the expectation value of the photon annihilation operator $\left\langle a\right\rangle$. We show it can be directly related to the electric susceptibility of systems, the composition of which includes a driven cavity field mode.
