Structure of isobaric analog states in 91Nb populated by the 90Zr(a,t) reaction
Abstract: Decay via proton emission of isobaric analog states (IAS's) in $^{91}{Nb}$ was studied using the $^{90}{Zr}(α,t)$ reaction at $E_α$=180 MeV. This study provides information about the dam** mechanism of these states. Decay to the ground state and low-lying phonon states in $^{90}{Zr}$ was observed. The experimental data are compared with theoretical predictions wherein the IAS `single-particle'… ▽ More

Transfer/Breakup Modes in the 6He+209Bi Reaction Near and Below the Coulomb Barrier
Abstract: Reaction products from the interaction of 6He with 209Bi have been measured at energies near the Coulomb barrier. A 4He group of remarkable intensity, which dominates the total reaction cross section, has been observed. The angular distribution of the group suggests that it results primarily from a direct nuclear process. It is likely that this transfer/breakup channel is the doorway state that… ▽ More

Nuclear and Coulomb Interaction in the 8B to 7Be + p Breakup Reaction at sub-Coulomb Energies
Abstract: The angular distribution for the breakup of 8B into 7Be+p on a 58Ni target has been measured at an incident energy of 25.75 MeV. The data are inconsistent with first-order theories but are remarkably well described by calculations including higher-order effects. The comparison with theory illustrates the importance of the exotic proton halo structure of 8B in accounting for the observed breakup… ▽ More
