We established a design method for a Magic-T with a single-layer dielectric/metal structure suitable for both wideband and multi-element applications for millimeter and submillimeter wave imaging observations. The design method was applied to a Magic-T with a coupled-line, stubs, and single-stage impedance transformers in a frequency-scaled model (6-14 GHz) that is relatively easy to demonstrate through manufacturing and evaluation. The major problem is that using the conventional perfect matching condition for a coupled-line alone produces an impractically large width coplanar coupled-line (CPCL) to satisfy the desired bandwidth ratio. In our study, by removing this constraint and optimizing impedances utilizing a circuit simulator with high computation speed, we found a solution with a $\sim$ 180 $\rm μ$m wide CPCL, which is approximately an order of magnitude smaller than the conventional analytical solution. Furthermore, considering the effect of transition discontinuities in the transmission lines, we optimized the line length and obtained a design solution with return loss < -20 dB, amplitude imbalance < 0.1 dB, and phase imbalance < 0.5$^\circ$ from 6.1 GHz to 14.1 GHz.

We have determined the local structure of photoexcited metastable WO$_3$ created 150 ps after 400 nm laser irradiation by the pulse pump--probe L$_3$-edge extended X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy and the constrained thorough search analysis. We have found a highly distorted octahedral local structure with one of the shortest W=O bonds being further shortened to 1.66 Åwhile the other five bonds were elongated even though theoretical calculations predicted the reverse change. We discuss this contradiction and propose a possible structure for the metastable state.

We report on the cryogenic properties of a low-contraction silicon-aluminum composite, namely Japan Fine Ceramics SA001, to use as a packaging structure for cryogenic silicon devices. SA001 is a silicon--aluminum composite material (75% silicon by volume) and has a low thermal expansion coefficient ($\sim$1/3 that of aluminum). The superconducting transition temperature of SA001 is measured to be 1.18 K, which is in agreement with that of pure aluminum, and is thus available as a superconducting magnetic shield material. The residual resistivity of SA001 is 0.065 $\mathrm{μΩm}$, which is considerably lower than an equivalent silicon--aluminum composite material. The measured thermal contraction of SA001 immersed in liquid nitrogen is $\frac{L_{293\mathrm{K}}-L_{77\mathrm{K}}}{L_{293\mathrm{K}}}=0.12$%, which is consistent with the expected rate obtained from the volume-weighted mean of the contractions of silicon and aluminum. The machinability of SA001 is also confirmed with a demonstrated fabrication of a conical feedhorn array, with a wall thickness of 100 $\mathrm{μm}$. These properties are suitable for packaging applications for large-format superconducting detector devices.

The quadratic Jahn-Teller effect of C$_{60}^{n-}$ ($n=$ 1-5) is investigated from the first principles. Employing the density functional theory calculations with hybrid functional, the quadratic vibronic coupling constants of C$_{60}^-$ were derived. The war** of the adiabatic potential energy surface of C$_{60}^-$ by the quadratic vibronic coupling is estimated about 2 meV, which is much smaller than the Jahn-Teller stabilization energy ($\approx$ 50 meV). Because of the selection rule and the vibronic reduction, the quadratic coupling slightly modifies the vibronic states of C$_{60}$ anions. Particularly, in the case of C$_{60}^{3-}$, parity and symmetry selection rule significantly reduces the effect of quadratic coupling on vibronic states. The present results confirm that the low-energy vibronic dynamics of C$_{60}^{n-}$ is of pseudorotational type.

This paper describes about information extraction system, which is an extension of the system developed by team Hitachi for "Disease/Disorder Template filling" task organized by ShARe/CLEF eHealth Evolution Lab 2014. In this extension module we focus on extraction of numerical attributes and values from discharge summary records and associating correct relation between attributes and values. We solve the problem in two steps. First step is extraction of numerical attributes and values, which is developed as a Named Entity Recognition (NER) model using Stanford NLP libraries. Second step is correctly associating the attributes to values, which is developed as a relation extraction module in Apache cTAKES framework. We integrated Stanford NER model as cTAKES pipeline component and used in relation extraction module. Conditional Random Field (CRF) algorithm is used for NER and Support Vector Machines (SVM) for relation extraction. For attribute value relation extraction, we observe 95% accuracy using NER alone and combined accuracy of 87% with NER and SVM.

The X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) of Mn in a spin-crossover compound, [Mn$^{\textrm{III}}$(taa)], was studied in pulsed high magnetic fields up to 37T. By applying magnetic fields to the low-temperature low-spin (LS) state, significant changes in the spectra were observed, suggesting a magnetic-field-induced spin-crossover to the high-spin (HS) state. At low temperatures, the magnetic field dependence of the changes in the spectra exhibited hysteresis. Furthermore, when the magnetic field was set to zero, a considerable remanent component was observed. The energy barrier of the HS $\to$ LS transition was evaluated from the temperature dependence of the decay time of the remanent signal. The energy barrier of the transition was found to be 134K, which is notably lower than that for other spin-crossover compounds reported previously. Since the fraction of the field-induced HS state was at most 30% and the thermodynamic macroscopic field-induced phase transition was expected to occur in fields higher than 55T, the observed field-induced transition at low temperatures down to 17K could be understood as a localized microscopic transition at the single-molecular level.

To make an interactive guidance mechanism for document retrieval systems, we developed a user-interface which presents users the visualized map of topics at each stage of retrieval process. Topic words are automatically extracted by frequency analysis and the strength of the relationships between topic words is measured by their co-occurrence. A major factor affecting a user's impression of a given topic word graph is the balance between common topic words and specific topic words. By using frequency classes for topic word extraction, we made it possible to select well-balanced set of topic words, and to adjust the balance of common and specific topic words.

A comparison was made of vectors derived by using ordinary co-occurrence statistics from large text corpora and of vectors derived by measuring the inter-word distances in dictionary definitions. The precision of word sense disambiguation by using co-occurrence vectors from the 1987 Wall Street Journal (20M total words) was higher than that by using distance vectors from the Collins English Dictionary (60K head words + 1.6M definition words). However, other experimental results suggest that distance vectors contain some different semantic information from co-occurrence vectors.
