Dispersion of Ultra-Relativistic Tardyonic and Tachyonic Wave Packets on Cosmic Scales
Abstract: We investigate the time propagation of tachyonic (superluminal) and tardyonic (subluminal, ordinary) massive wave packets on cosmic scales. A normalizable wave packet cannot be monochromatic in momentum space and thus acquires a positional uncertainty (or packet width) that increases with travel distance. We investigate the question of how this positional uncertainty affects the uncertainty in the… ▽ More

Summing Feynman diagrams in the worldline formalism
Abstract: The worldline formalism shares with string theory the property that it allows one to write down master integrals that effectively combine the contributions of many Feynman diagrams. While at the one-loop level these diagrams differ only by the position of the external legs along a fixed line or loop, at multiloop they generally involve different topologies. Here we summarize various efforts that h… ▽ More

Generalized LKF transformations for $N$-point fermion correlators in QED
Abstract: Within the worldline approach to quantum electrodynamics (QED), a change of the photon's covariant gauge parameter $ξ$ is investigated to analyse the non-perturbative gauge dependence of the configuration space fermion correlation functions, deriving a generalization of the Landau-Kalatnikov-Fradkin transformations (LKFt). These transformations reveal how the non-perturbative gauge dependence of p… ▽ More

The Generalised LKF Transformations for Arbitrary $N$-point Fermion Correlators
Abstract: We examine the non-perturbative gauge dependence of arbitrary configuration space fermion correlators in quantum electrodynamics (QED). First, we study the dressed electron propagator (allowing for emission or absorption of any number of photons along a fermion line) using the first quantised approach to quantum field theory and analyse its gauge transformation properties induced by virtual photon… ▽ More

Non-perturbative gauge transformations of arbitrary fermion correlation functions in quantum electrodynamics
Abstract: We study the transformation of the dressed electron propagator and the general $N$-point functions under a change in the covariant gauge of internal photon propagators. We re-establish the well known Landau-Khalatnikov-Fradkin transformation for the propagator and generalise it to arbitrary correlation functions in configuration space, finding that it coincides with the analogous result for scalar… ▽ More
