This paper examines the impact of US monetary policy tightening on emerging markets, distinguishing between direct and indirect spillover effects using the global vector autoregression with stochastic volatility covering 32 countries. The paper demonstrates that an increase in the US interest rate significantly reduces output for emerging markets, leading to larger, more prolonged, and persistent declines. Such an impact is further intensified by global trade integration, causing a sharper yet slightly quicker rebounding output drop. The spillover effects are significantly amplified when US monetary policy tightening is accompanied by an increase in monetary policy uncertainty. Finally, emerging markets exhibit considerable heterogeneity in their responses to US monetary policy shocks.

This paper studies the Partial Optimal Transport (POT) problem between two unbalanced measures with at most $n$ supports and its applications in various AI tasks such as color transfer or domain adaptation. There is hence the need for fast approximations of POT with increasingly large problem sizes in arising applications. We first theoretically and experimentally investigate the infeasibility of the state-of-the-art Sinkhorn algorithm for POT due to its incompatible rounding procedure, which consequently degrades its qualitative performance in real world applications like point-cloud registration. To this end, we propose a novel rounding algorithm for POT, and then provide a feasible Sinkhorn procedure with a revised computation complexity of $\mathcal{\widetilde O}(n^2/\varepsilon^4)$. Our rounding algorithm also permits the development of two first-order methods to approximate the POT problem. The first algorithm, Adaptive Primal-Dual Accelerated Gradient Descent (APDAGD), finds an $\varepsilon$-approximate solution to the POT problem in $\mathcal{\widetilde O}(n^{2.5}/\varepsilon)$, which is better in $\varepsilon$ than revised Sinkhorn. The second method, Dual Extrapolation, achieves the computation complexity of $\mathcal{\widetilde O}(n^2/\varepsilon)$, thereby being the best in the literature. We further demonstrate the flexibility of POT compared to standard OT as well as the practicality of our algorithms on real applications where two marginal distributions are unbalanced.

Shape optimization with respect to eigenvalues of a cavity plays an important role in the design of new resonators or in the optimization of existing ones. In our paper, we propose a gradient-based optimization scheme, which we enhance with closed-form shape derivatives of the system matrices. Based on these, we can compute accurate derivatives of eigenvalues, eigenmodes and the cost function with respect to the geometry, which significantly reduces the computational effort of the optimizer. We demonstrate our work by applying it to the 9-cell TESLA cavity, for which we tune the design parameters of the computational model to match the design criteria for devices in realistic use cases. Since eigenvalues may cross during the shape optimization of a cavity, we propose a new algorithm based on an eigenvalue matching procedure, to ensure the optimization of the desired mode in order to also enable successful matching along large shape variations.

Large pre-trained vision-language models such as CLIP have demonstrated great potential in zero-shot transferability to downstream tasks. However, to attain optimal performance, the manual selection of prompts is necessary to improve alignment between the downstream image distribution and the textual class descriptions. This manual prompt engineering is the major challenge for deploying such models in practice since it requires domain expertise and is extremely time-consuming. To avoid non-trivial prompt engineering, recent work Context Optimization (CoOp) introduced the concept of prompt learning to the vision domain using learnable textual tokens. While CoOp can achieve substantial improvements over manual prompts, its learned context is worse generalizable to wider unseen classes within the same dataset. In this work, we present Prompt Learning with Reparameterization Encoder (PRE) - a simple and efficient method that enhances the generalization ability of the learnable prompt to unseen classes while maintaining the capacity to learn Base classes. Instead of directly optimizing the prompts, PRE employs a prompt encoder to reparameterize the input prompt embeddings, enhancing the exploration of task-specific knowledge from few-shot samples. Experiments and extensive ablation studies on 8 benchmarks demonstrate that our approach is an efficient method for prompt learning. Specifically, PRE achieves a notable enhancement of 5.60% in average accuracy on New classes and 3% in Harmonic mean compared to CoOp in the 16-shot setting, all achieved within a good training time.

Representation learning for time series has been an important research area for decades. Since the emergence of the foundation models, this topic has attracted a lot of attention in contrastive self-supervised learning, to solve a wide range of downstream tasks. However, there have been several challenges for contrastive time series processing. First, there is no work considering noise, which is one of the critical factors affecting the efficacy of time series tasks. Second, there is a lack of efficient yet lightweight encoder architectures that can learn informative representations robust to various downstream tasks. To fill in these gaps, we initiate a novel sampling strategy that promotes consistent representation learning with the presence of noise in natural time series. In addition, we propose an encoder architecture that utilizes dilated convolution within the Inception block to create a scalable and robust network architecture with a wide receptive field. Experiments demonstrate that our method consistently outperforms state-of-the-art methods in forecasting, classification, and abnormality detection tasks, e.g. ranks first over two-thirds of the classification UCR datasets, with only $40\%$ of the parameters compared to the second-best approach. Our source code for CoInception framework is accessible at https://github.com/anhduy0911/CoInception.

Federated learning (FL) enables multiple clients to train a model without compromising sensitive data. The decentralized nature of FL makes it susceptible to adversarial attacks, especially backdoor insertion during training. Recently, the edge-case backdoor attack employing the tail of the data distribution has been proposed as a powerful one, raising questions about the shortfall in current defenses' robustness guarantees. Specifically, most existing defenses cannot eliminate edge-case backdoor attacks or suffer from a trade-off between backdoor-defending effectiveness and overall performance on the primary task. To tackle this challenge, we propose FedGrad, a novel backdoor-resistant defense for FL that is resistant to cutting-edge backdoor attacks, including the edge-case attack, and performs effectively under heterogeneous client data and a large number of compromised clients. FedGrad is designed as a two-layer filtering mechanism that thoroughly analyzes the ultimate layer's gradient to identify suspicious local updates and remove them from the aggregation process. We evaluate FedGrad under different attack scenarios and show that it significantly outperforms state-of-the-art defense mechanisms. Notably, FedGrad can almost 100% correctly detect the malicious participants, thus providing a significant reduction in the backdoor effect (e.g., backdoor accuracy is less than 8%) while not reducing the main accuracy on the primary task.

Due to the significant resemblance in visual appearance, pill misuse is prevalent and has become a critical issue, responsible for one-third of all deaths worldwide. Pill identification, thus, is a crucial concern needed to be investigated thoroughly. Recently, several attempts have been made to exploit deep learning to tackle the pill identification problem. However, most published works consider only single-pill identification and fail to distinguish hard samples with identical appearances. Also, most existing pill image datasets only feature single pill images captured in carefully controlled environments under ideal lighting conditions and clean backgrounds. In this work, we are the first to tackle the multi-pill detection problem in real-world settings, aiming at localizing and identifying pills captured by users in a pill intake. Moreover, we also introduce a multi-pill image dataset taken in unconstrained conditions. To handle hard samples, we propose a novel method for constructing heterogeneous a priori graphs incorporating three forms of inter-pill relationships, including co-occurrence likelihood, relative size, and visual semantic correlation. We then offer a framework for integrating a priori with pills' visual features to enhance detection accuracy. Our experimental results have proved the robustness, reliability, and explainability of the proposed framework. Experimentally, it outperforms all detection benchmarks in terms of all evaluation metrics. Specifically, our proposed framework improves COCO mAP metrics by 9.4% over Faster R-CNN and 12.0% compared to vanilla YOLOv5. Our study opens up new opportunities for protecting patients from medication errors using an AI-based pill identification solution.

To explain the predicted answers and evaluate the reasoning abilities of models, several studies have utilized underlying reasoning (UR) tasks in multi-hop question answering (QA) datasets. However, it remains an open question as to how effective UR tasks are for the QA task when training models on both tasks in an end-to-end manner. In this study, we address this question by analyzing the effectiveness of UR tasks (including both sentence-level and entity-level tasks) in three aspects: (1) QA performance, (2) reasoning shortcuts, and (3) robustness. While the previous models have not been explicitly trained on an entity-level reasoning prediction task, we build a multi-task model that performs three tasks together: sentence-level supporting facts prediction, entity-level reasoning prediction, and answer prediction. Experimental results on 2WikiMultiHopQA and HotpotQA-small datasets reveal that (1) UR tasks can improve QA performance. Using four debiased datasets that are newly created, we demonstrate that (2) UR tasks are helpful in preventing reasoning shortcuts in the multi-hop QA task. However, we find that (3) UR tasks do not contribute to improving the robustness of the model on adversarial questions, such as sub-questions and inverted questions. We encourage future studies to investigate the effectiveness of entity-level reasoning in the form of natural language questions (e.g., sub-question forms).

Successful Artificial Intelligence systems often require numerous labeled data to extract information from document images. In this paper, we investigate the problem of improving the performance of Artificial Intelligence systems in understanding document images, especially in cases where training data is limited. We address the problem by proposing a novel finetuning method using reinforcement learning. Our approach treats the Information Extraction model as a policy network and uses policy gradient training to update the model to maximize combined reward functions that complement the traditional cross-entropy losses. Our experiments on four datasets using labels and expert feedback demonstrate that our finetuning mechanism consistently improves the performance of a state-of-the-art information extractor, especially in the small training data regime.

Identifying pills given their captured images under various conditions and backgrounds has been becoming more and more essential. Several efforts have been devoted to utilizing the deep learning-based approach to tackle the pill recognition problem in the literature. However, due to the high similarity between pills' appearance, misrecognition often occurs, leaving pill recognition a challenge. To this end, in this paper, we introduce a novel approach named PIKA that leverages external knowledge to enhance pill recognition accuracy. Specifically, we address a practical scenario (which we call contextual pill recognition), aiming to identify pills in a picture of a patient's pill intake. Firstly, we propose a novel method for modeling the implicit association between pills in the presence of an external data source, in this case, prescriptions. Secondly, we present a walk-based graph embedding model that transforms from the graph space to vector space and extracts condensed relational features of the pills. Thirdly, a final framework is provided that leverages both image-based visual and graph-based relational features to accomplish the pill identification task. Within this framework, the visual representation of each pill is mapped to the graph embedding space, which is then used to execute attention over the graph representation, resulting in a semantically-rich context vector that aids in the final classification. To our knowledge, this is the first study to use external prescription data to establish associations between medicines and to classify them using this aiding information. The architecture of PIKA is lightweight and has the flexibility to incorporate into any recognition backbones. The experimental results show that by leveraging the external knowledge graph, PIKA can improve the recognition accuracy from 4.8% to 34.1% in terms of F1-score, compared to baselines.

A multi-hop question answering (QA) dataset aims to test reasoning and inference skills by requiring a model to read multiple paragraphs to answer a given question. However, current datasets do not provide a complete explanation for the reasoning process from the question to the answer. Further, previous studies revealed that many examples in existing multi-hop datasets do not require multi-hop reasoning to answer a question. In this study, we present a new multi-hop QA dataset, called 2WikiMultiHopQA, which uses structured and unstructured data. In our dataset, we introduce the evidence information containing a reasoning path for multi-hop questions. The evidence information has two benefits: (i) providing a comprehensive explanation for predictions and (ii) evaluating the reasoning skills of a model. We carefully design a pipeline and a set of templates when generating a question-answer pair that guarantees the multi-hop steps and the quality of the questions. We also exploit the structured format in Wikidata and use logical rules to create questions that are natural but still require multi-hop reasoning. Through experiments, we demonstrate that our dataset is challenging for multi-hop models and it ensures that multi-hop reasoning is required.

Controlling the interconnection of neighboring seeds (nanoflakes) to full coverage of the textured substrate is the main challenge for the large-scale conformal growth of atomic-thick transition metal dichalcogenides by chemical vapor deposition. Herein, we report on a controllable method for the conformal growth of monolayer MoS2 on not only planar but also micro- and nano-rugged SiO2/Si substrates via metal-organic chemical vapor deposition. The continuity of monolayer MoS2 on the rugged surface is evidenced by scanning electron microscopy, cross-section high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, photoluminescence (PL) map**, and Raman map**. Interestingly, the photo-responsivity (~254.5 mA/W) of as-grown MoS2 on the nano-rugged substrate exhibits 59 times higher than that of the planar sample (4.3 mA/W) under a small applied bias of 0.1 V. This value is record high when compared with all previous MoS2-based photocurrent generation under low or zero bias. Such a large enhancement in the photo-responsivity arises from a large active area for light-matter interaction and local strain for PL quenching, where the latter effect is the key factor and unique in the conformally grown monolayer on the nano-rugged surface. The result is a step toward the batch fabrication of modern atomic-thick optoelectronic devices.

Seizure prediction has attracted a growing attention as one of the most challenging predictive data analysis efforts in order to improve the life of patients living with drug-resistant epilepsy and tonic seizures. Many outstanding works have been reporting great results in providing a sensible indirect (warning systems) or direct (interactive neural-stimulation) control over refractory seizures, some of which achieved high performance. However, many works put heavily handcraft feature extraction and/or carefully tailored feature engineering to each patient to achieve very high sensitivity and low false prediction rate for a particular dataset. This limits the benefit of their approaches if a different dataset is used. In this paper we apply Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) on different intracranial and scalp electroencephalogram (EEG) datasets and proposed a generalized retrospective and patient-specific seizure prediction method. We use Short-Time Fourier Transform (STFT) on 30-second EEG windows with 50% overlap** to extract information in both frequency and time domains. A standardization step is then applied on STFT components across the whole frequency range to prevent high frequencies features being influenced by those at lower frequencies. A convolutional neural network model is used for both feature extraction and classification to separate preictal segments from interictal ones. The proposed approach achieves sensitivity of 81.4%, 81.2%, 82.3% and false prediction rate (FPR) of 0.06/h, 0.16/h, 0.22/h on Freiburg Hospital intracranial EEG (iEEG) dataset, Children's Hospital of Boston-MIT scalp EEG (sEEG) dataset, and Kaggle American Epilepsy Society Seizure Prediction Challenge's dataset, respectively. Our prediction method is also statistically better than an unspecific random predictor for most of patients in all three datasets.

This is the first application of the energy test in four-body decays. The search is performed for $P$-even $CP$ asymmetries and, for the first time, is extended to probe the $P$-odd case. Using proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb$^{-1}$ collected by the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s}=$7 TeV and 8 TeV, the world's best sensitivity to $CP$ violation in this decay is obtained. The analysis uses $\overline{B}\to D^{*+} μ^- X$, and charge-conjugate decays, where $D^{*+}\to D^0 π^+$, and $D^0\to K^{\mp} π^{\pm}$. The $pp$ collision data are recorded by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb$^{-1}$. The data are analyzed under three hypotheses: (i) mixing assuming $C\!P$ symmetry, (ii) mixing assuming no direct $C\!P$ violation in the Cabibbo-favored or doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay amplitudes, and (iii) mixing allowing either direct $C\!P$ violation and/or $C\!P$ violation in the superpositions of flavor eigenstates defining the mass eigenstates. The data are also combined with those from a previous LHCb study of $D^0\to K π$ decays from a disjoint set of $ D^{*+} $ candidates produced directly in $pp$ collisions. In all cases, the data are consistent with the hypothesis of $C\!P$ symmetry.

The combination yields $γ= (72.2^{+6.8}_{-7.3})^\circ$, where the uncertainty includes systematic effects. The 95.5% confidence level interval is determined to be $γ\in [55.9,85.2]^\circ$. A second combination is investigated, also including measurements from $B^{+} \rightarrow D π^+$ and $B^{+} \rightarrow D π^+π^-π^+$ decays, which yields compatible results.

A measurement of the time-integrated $CP$ asymmetry in the Cabibbo-suppressed decay $D^0\rightarrow K^-K^+$ is performed using pp collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3fb$^{-1}$, collected with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The flavour of the charm meson at production is determined from the charge of the pion in $D^{*+}\rightarrow D^0 π^+$ and $D^{*-}\rightarrow \bar{D^0} π^-$ decays. The time-integrated $CP$ asymmetry $A_{CP}(K^-K^+)$ is obtained assuming negligible $CP$ violation in charm mixing and in Cabibbo-favoured $D^0\rightarrow K^-π^+$, $D^+\rightarrow K^-π^+π^+$ and $D^+\rightarrow \bar{K^0}π^+$ decays used as calibration channels. It is found to be $A_{CP}(K^-K^+)=(0.14\pm0.15(stat)\pm0.10(syst))\%$. A combination of this result with previous LHCb measurements yields $A_{CP}(K^-K^+)=(0.04\pm0.12(stat)\pm0.10(syst))\%$, $A_{CP}(π^-π^+)=(0.07\pm0.14(stat)\pm0.11(syst))\%$. These are the most precise measurements from a single experiment. The result for $A_{CP}(K^-K^+)$ is the most precise determination of a time-integrated $CP$ asymmetry in the charm sector to date, and neither measurement shows evidence of CP asymmetry.

The data set corresponds to integrated luminosities of 1 and 2 fb$^{-1}$ at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, respectively. This decay is observed for the first time, with a significance of more than five standard deviations. The analysis also results in an improved measurement of the branching fraction for the $B_s^0\to π^+π^-$ decay. The measured branching fractions are $BR(B^0\to K^+K^-) = (7.80 \pm 1.27 \pm 0.81 \pm 0.21) \times 10^{-8}$ and $BR(B_s^0\toπ^+π^-) = (6.91 \pm 0.54 \pm 0.63 \pm 0.19 \pm 0.40) \times 10^{-7}$. The first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, the third is due to the uncertainty on the $B^0\to K^+π^-$ branching fraction used as a normalization. For the $B_s^0$ mode, the fourth accounts for the uncertainty on the ratio of the probabilities for $b$ quarks to hadronize into $B_s^0$ and $B^0$ mesons.

Using data from the LHCb experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, a search is made for $C\!P$-violating asymmetries in the decay angle distributions of $Λ^0_b$ baryons decaying to $pπ^-π^+π^-$ and $pπ^-K^+K^-$ final states. These four-body hadronic decays are a promising place to search for sources of $C\!P$ violation both within and beyond the Standard Model of particle physics. We find evidence for $C\!P$ violation in $Λ^0_b$ to $pπ^-π^+π^-$ decays with a statistical significance corresponding to 3.3 standard deviations including systematic uncertainties. This represents the first evidence for $C\!P$ violation in the baryon sector.

Measurements of the differential branching fraction and angular moments of the decay $B^0 \to K^+ π^- μ^+ μ^-$ in the $K^+π^-$ invariant mass range $1330<m(K^+ π^-)<1530~MeV/c^2$ are presented. Proton-proton collision data are used, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 $fb^{-1}$ collected by the LHCb experiment. Differential branching fraction measurements are reported in five bins of the invariant mass squared of the dimuon system, $q^2$, between 0.1 and 8.0 $GeV^2/c^4$. For the first time, an angular analysis sensitive to the S-, P- and D-wave contributions of this rare decay is performed. The set of 40 normalised angular moments describing the decay is presented for the $q^2$ range 1.1--6.0 $GeV^2/c^4$.

A value of ${\mathcal{A}}^Δ=-0.98^{\,+0.46\,+0.23}_{\,-0.52\,-0.20}$ is measured. This result is consistent with the Standard Model prediction within two standard deviations.

The $CP$ violation observables $S$ and $C$ in the decay channel $B^0 \!\rightarrow D^+ D^-$ are determined from a sample of proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, collected by the LHCb experiment and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb$^{-1}$. The observable $S$ describes $CP$ violation in the interference between mixing and the decay amplitude, and $C$ parametrizes direct $CP$ violation in the decay. The following values are obtained from a flavor-tagged, decay-time-dependent analysis: \begin{align*}
S &= -0.54 \, ^{+0.17}_{-0.16} \, \text{(stat)} \pm 0.05 \, \text{(syst)}\,,\newline
C &= \phantom{-}0.26 \, ^{+0.18}_{-0.17} \, \text{(stat)} \pm 0.02 \, \text{(syst)}\,. \end{align*} These values provide evidence for $CP$ violation at a significance level of 4.0 standard deviations. The phase shift due to higher-order Standard Model corrections is constrained to a small value of \begin{align*}
Δφ= -0.16\,^{+0.19}_{-0.21}\,\text{rad}\,. \end{align*}

The electrons are required to have more than $20\,$GeV of transverse momentum and to lie between 2.00 and 4.25 in pseudorapidity. The inclusive $W$ production cross-sections, where the $W$ decays to $eν$, are measured to be \begin{equation*} σ_{W^{+} \to e^{+}ν_{e}}=1124.4\pm 2.1\pm 21.5\pm 11.2\pm 13.0\,\mathrm{pb}, \end{equation*} \begin{equation*} σ_{W^{-} \to e^{-}\barν_{e}}=\,\,\,809.0\pm 1.9\pm 18.1\pm\,\,\,7.0\pm \phantom{0}9.4\,\mathrm{pb}, \end{equation*} where the first uncertainties are statistical, the second are systematic, the third are due to the knowledge of the LHC beam energy and the fourth are due to the luminosity determination. Differential cross-sections as a function of the electron pseudorapidity are measured. The $W^{+}/W^{-}$ cross-section ratio and production charge asymmetry are also reported. Results are compared with theoretical predictions at next-to-next-to-leading order in perturbative quantum chromodynamics. Finally, in a precise test of lepton universality, the ratio of $W$ boson branching fractions is determined to be \begin{equation*} \mathcal{B}(W \to eν)/\mathcal{B}(W \to μν)=1.020\pm 0.002\pm 0.019, \end{equation*} where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic.

A model-independent analysis of the angular moments demonstrates the presence of resonances with spins 1, 2 and 3 at high $D^{+}π^{-}$ mass. The data are fitted with an amplitude model composed of a quasi-model-independent function to describe the $D^{+}π^{-}$ S-wave together with virtual contributions from the $D^{*}(2007)^{0}$ and $B^{*0}$ states, and components corresponding to the $D^{*}_{2}(2460)^{0}$, $D^{*}_{1}(2680)^{0}$, $D^{*}_{3}(2760)^{0}$ and $D^{*}_{2}(3000)^{0}$ resonances. The masses and widths of these resonances are determined together with the branching fractions for their production in $B^{-} \to D^{+} π^{-} π^{-}$ decays. The $D^{+}π^{-}$ S-wave has phase motion consistent with that expected due to the presence of the $D^{*}_{0}(2400)^{0}$ state. These results constitute the first observations of the $D^{*}_{3}(2760)^{0}$ and $D^{*}_{2}(3000)^{0}$ resonances.

In addition, the mass differences between the $η_{c}(1S)$ and the $J/ψ$ states, between the $η_{c}(2S)$ and the $ψ(2S)$ states, and the natural width of the $η_{c}(1S)$ are measured as \begin{align*} M_{J/ψ} - M_{η_{c}(1S)} =~& 110.2 \pm 0.5 \pm 0.9 \rm \, MeV, M_{ψ(2S)} -M_{η_{c}(2S)} =~ & 52.5 \pm 1.7 \pm 0.6 \rm \, MeV, Γ_{η_{c}(1S)} =~& 34.0 \pm 1.9 \pm 1.3 \rm \, MeV. \end{align*}

Evidence for the decay $B_c^+\toχ_{c0}(\to K^+K^-)π^+$ is reported with a significance of 4.0 standard deviations, resulting in the measurement of $\frac{σ(B_c^+)}{σ(B^+)}\times\mathcal{B}(B_c^+\toχ_{c0}π^+)$ to be $(9.8^{+3.4}_{-3.0}(\mathrm{stat})\pm 0.8(\mathrm{syst}))\times 10^{-6}$. Here $\mathcal{B}$ denotes a branching fraction while $σ(B_c^+)$ and $σ(B^+)$ are the production cross-sections for $B_c^+$ and $B^+$ mesons. An indication of $\bar b c$ weak annihilation is found for the region $m(K^-π^+)<1.834\mathrm{\,Ge\kern -0.1em V\!/}c^2$, with a significance of 2.4 standard deviations.

A significantly better description of the data is achieved when, in addition to the previously observed nucleon excitations $N\to pπ^-$, either the $P_c(4380)^+$ and $P_c(4450)^+\to J/ψp$ states, previously observed in $Λ_b^0 \to J/ψp K^-$ decays, or the $Z_c(4200)^-\to J/ψπ^-$ state, previously reported in $B^0 \to J/ψK^+ π^-$ decays, or all three, are included in the amplitude models. The data support a model containing all three exotic states, with a significance of more than three standard deviations. Within uncertainties, the data are consistent with the $P_c(4380)^+$ and $P_c(4450)^+$ production rates expected from their previous observation taking account of Cabibbo suppression.

A measurement of the differential branching fraction of the decay ${B^{0}\rightarrow K^{\ast}(892)^{0}μ^{+}μ^{-}}$ is presented together with a determination of the S-wave fraction of the $K^+π^-$ system in the decay $B^{0}\rightarrow K^{+}π^{-}μ^{+}μ^{-}$. The analysis is based on $pp$-collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3\,fb$^{-1}$ collected with the LHCb experiment. The measurements are made in bins of the invariant mass squared of the dimuon system, $q^2$. Precise theoretical predictions for the differential branching fraction of $B^{0}\rightarrow K^{\ast}(892)^{0}μ^{+}μ^{-}$ decays are available for the $q^2$ region $1.1<q^2<6.0\,{\rm GeV}^2/c^4$. In this $q^2$ region, for the $K^+π^-$ invariant mass range $796 < m_{Kπ} < 996\,{\rm MeV}/c^2$, the S-wave fraction of the $K^+π^-$ system in $B^{0}\rightarrow K^{+}π^{-}μ^{+}μ^{-}$ decays is found to be \begin{equation*}
F_{\rm S} = 0.101\pm0.017({\rm stat})\pm0.009 ({\rm syst}), \end{equation*} and the differential branching fraction of $B^{0}\rightarrow K^{\ast}(892)^{0}μ^{+}μ^{-}$ decays is determined to be \begin{equation*}
{\rm d}\mathcal{B}/{\rm d} q^2 = (0.342_{\,-0.017}^{\,+0.017}({\rm stat})\pm{0.009}({\rm syst})\pm0.023({\rm norm}))\times 10^{-7}c^{4}/{\rm GeV}^{2}. \end{equation*} The differential branching fraction measurements presented are the most precise to date and are found to be in agreement with Standard Model predictions.

Correcting the observed charge asymmetry for detection and background effects, the $CP$ asymmetry is found to be $a_{\text{sl}}^s = (0.39 \pm 0.26 \pm 0.20) \% $, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. This is the most precise measurement of $a_{\text{sl}}^s$ to date. It is consistent with the prediction from the Standard Model and will constrain new models of particle physics.

The $W$ boson is identified using its decay to a muon and a neutrino, while the $Z$ boson is identified through its decay to a muon pair. Total cross-sections are measured and combined into charge ratios, asymmetries, and ratios of $W+$jet and $Z$+jet production cross-sections. Differential measurements are also performed as a function of both boson and jet kinematic variables. All results are in agreement with Standard Model predictions.
