Mixing properties of nonstationary multivariate count processes
Abstract: We prove absolute regularity ($β$-mixing) for nonstationary and multivariate versions of two popular classes of integer-valued processes. We show how this result can be used to prove asymptotic normality of a least squares estimator of an involved model parameter.

A log-linear model for non-stationary time series of counts
Abstract: We propose a new model for nonstationary integer-valued time series which is particularly suitable for data with a strong trend. In contrast to popular Poisson-INGARCH models, but in line with classical GARCH models, we propose to pick the conditional distributions from nearly scale invariant families where the mean absolute value and the standard deviation are of the same order of magnitude. As a… ▽ More

Mixing properties of non-stationary INGARCH(1,1) processes
Abstract: We derive mixing properties for a broad class of Poisson count time series satisfying a certain contraction condition. Using specific coupling techniques, we prove absolute regularity at a geometric rate not only for stationary Poisson-GARCH processes but also for models with an explosive trend. We provide easily verifiable sufficient conditions for absolute regularity for a variety of models incl… ▽ More

Consistency of a nonparametric least squares estimator in integer-valued GARCH models
Abstract: We consider a nonparametric version of the integer-valued GARCH(1,1) model for time series of counts. The link function in the recursion for the variances is not specified by finite-dimensional parameters, but we impose nonparametric smoothness conditions. We propose a least squares estimator for this function and show that it is consistent with a rate that we conjecture to be nearly optimal.

Stationarity and ergodic properties for some observation-driven models in random environments
Abstract: The first motivation of this paper is to study stationarity and ergodic properties for a general class of time series models defined conditional on an exogenous covariates process. The dynamic of these models is given by an autoregressive latent process which forms a Markov chain in random environments. Contrarily to existing contributions in the field of Markov chains in random environments, the… ▽ More

Mixing properties of Skellam-GARCH processes
Abstract: We consider integer-valued GARCH processes, where the count variable conditioned on past values of the count and state variables follows a so-called Skellam distribution. Using arguments for contractive Markov chains we prove that the process has a unique stationary regime. Furthermore, we show asymptotic regularity ($β$-mixing) with geometrically decaying coefficients for the count process. These… ▽ More

Absolute regularity of semi-contractive GARCH-type processes
Abstract: We prove existence and uniqueness of a stationary distribution and absolute regularity for nonlinear GARCH and INGARCH models of order (p,q). In contrast to previous work we impose, besides a geometric drift condition, only a semi-contractive condition which allows us to include models which would be ruled out by a fully contractive condition. This results in a subgeometric rather than the more us… ▽ More

On Integrated $L^{1}$ Convergence Rate of an Isotonic Regression Estimator for Multivariate Observations
Abstract: We consider a general monotone regression estimation where we allow for independent and dependent regressors. We propose a modification of the classical isotonic least squares estimator and establish its rate of convergence for the integrated $L_1$-loss function. The methodology captures the shape of the data without assuming additivity or a parametric form for the regression function. Furthermore… ▽ More

Absolute regularity and ergodicity of Poisson count processes
Abstract: We consider a class of observation-driven Poisson count processes where the current value of the accompanying intensity process depends on previous values of both processes. We show under a contractive condition that the bivariate process has a unique stationary distribution and that a stationary version of the count process is absolutely regular. Moreover, since the intensities can be written as… ▽ More

The notion of $ψ$-weak dependence and its applications to bootstrap** time series
Abstract: We give an introduction to a notion of weak dependence which is more general than mixing and allows to treat for example processes driven by discrete innovations as they appear with time series bootstrap. As a typical example, we analyze autoregressive processes and their bootstrap analogues in detail and show how weak dependence can be easily derived from a contraction property of the process.… ▽ More

Goodness-of-fit tests for Markovian time series models: Central limit theory and bootstrap approximations
Abstract: New goodness-of-fit tests for Markovian models in time series analysis are developed which are based on the difference between a fully nonparametric estimate of the one-step transition distribution function of the observed process and that of the model class postulated under the null hypothesis. The model specification under the null allows for Markovian models, the transition mechanisms of whic… ▽ More

Nonparametric estimation for Lévy processes from low-frequency observations
Abstract: We suppose that a Lévy process is observed at discrete time points. A rather general construction of minimum-distance estimators is shown to give consistent estimators of the Lévy-Khinchine characteristics as the number of observations tends to infinity, kee** the observation distance fixed. For a specific $C^2$-criterion this estimator is rate-optimal. The connection with deconvolution and in… ▽ More
