An efficient third-order algebraic diagrammatic construction (ADC) theory has been implemented to calculate ionisation potential, electron attachment and excitation energy (IP/EA/EE-ADC(3)) in a four-component relativistic framework. We have used polarisation propagator formulation for third-order perturbation theory to access the excitation energies (EE), and for IP/EA, a single-particle propagator has been used based on a non-Dyson formulation. The benchmarking calculations have been performed on various types of systems to test the accuracy of the four component ADC(3) scheme for the computation of IP, EA and EE. We have applied our IP-ADC(3) to demonstrate the computation of splitting in the IP states for halogen monoxides (XO, X = Cl, Br, I ) due to spin-orbital coupling in the 2^Π ground state and compared it with experimental results. Next, we have studied the effect of relativity and the size of the basis set on the electron attachment calculations of halogen atoms (F, Cl, Br, I and At) using EA-ADC(3). As our next step, we have shown the efficiency of four component ADC(3) in computing excitation energies of triiodide ion and compared with relativistic equation of motion coupled cluster with singles and doubles (EOM-CCSD), intermediate Hamiltonian Fock space coupled cluster (IHFS-CC) and other EOM-CCSD schemes in which spin-orbit coupling is incorporated with different degrees of approximation. Finally, we have also investigated the excitation energies and transition dipole moments for the four excited states of Xe atom and compared them with our recent four-component EOM-CCSD implementation and relativistic finite field Fock space coupled cluster results, along with the experimental estimates.

We present a four-component relativistic unitary coupled cluster method for molecules. We have used commutator-based non-perturbative approximation using the ''Bernoulli expansion'' to derive an approximation to the relativistic unitary coupled cluster method. The performance of the full quadratic unitary coupled-cluster singles and doubles method \left ( qUCCSD \right ), as well as a perturbative approximation variant \left ( UCC3 \right ), has been reported for both energies and properties. It can be seen that both methods give results comparable to those of the standard relativistic coupled cluster method. The qUCCSD method shows better agreement with experimental results due to better inclusion of the relaxation effects. A natural spinor-based scheme to reduce the computation cost of relativistic UCC3 and qUCCSD methods has been discussed.

We have developed an efficient scheme for the calculation of transition properties within the four-component relativistic equation-of-motion coupled-cluster (EOM-CC) method using the expectation value approach. The calculation of transition properties within the relativistic EOM-CC framework requires the solution of both right and left eigenvectors using Davidson's iterative diagonalization scheme. The accuracy of the approach has been investigated by calculating low-lying transitions of Xe atom, HI molecule and spin forbidden 1S0 to 3P1 and spin allowed 1S0 to 1P1 transitions in a few closed shell cations. Additionally, applications aimed at evaluating the L-edge X-ray absorption spectrum (XAS) of Ar atom is studied. The calculated results show good agreement with the earlier theoretical studies and experimental values.

We present the theory and the implementation of a low-cost four-component relativistic equation of motion coupled cluster method for ionized states based on frozen natural spinors. A single threshold (natural spinor occupancy) can control the accuracy of the calculated ionization potential values. Frozen natural spinors can significantly reduce the computational cost for valence and core-ionization energies with systematically controllable accuracy. The convergence of the ionization potential values with respect to the natural spinor occupancy threshold becomes slower with the increase in basis set dimension. However, the use of a natural spinor threshold of 10-5 and 10-6 gives excellent agreement with experimental results for valence and core ionization energies, respectively.

We present the theory, implementation, and benchmark results for a frozen natural spinors-based lower scaling four-component relativistic coupled cluster method. The natural spinors are obtained by diagonalizing the one-body reduced density matrix from a relativistic MP2 calculation based on four-component Dirac-Coulomb Hamiltonian. The correlation energy in the coupled cluster method converges more rapidly with respect to the size of the virtual space in the frozen natural spinor basis than that observed in the standard canonical spinors obtained from the Dirac-Hartree-Fock calculation. The convergence of properties is not smooth in the frozen natural spinor basis. However, the inclusion of the perturbative correction smoothens the convergence of the properties with respect to the size of the virtual space in the frozen natural spinor basis and greatly reduces the truncation errors for both energy and properties calculations. The accuracy of the frozen natural spinor based coupled cluster methods can be controlled by a single threshold and is a black box to use.

Additionally, we presented results with two intermediate schemes in the four-component relativistic DI-EOMCC framework to understand the role of electron correlation. The computed double ionization spectra for the atomic systems are compared with the values from the non-relativistic DI-EOMCC method with spin-orbit coupling (SOC) [Z. Wang et al. J. Chem. DIRAC features a very general module for the calculation of molecular properties that to a large extent may be defined by the user and further analyzed through a powerful visualization module. It allows the inclusion of environmental effects through three different classes of increasingly sophisticated embedding approaches: the implicit solvation polarizable continuum model, the explicit polarizable embedding, and frozen density embedding models. The NL-eEDM collaboration is building a new experimental set up to measure the eEDM using the BaF molecule [The NL-eEDM collaboration, Eur. Phys. J. D (2018) 72: 197]. To analyze the results of such an experiment, one would require the accurate value of the molecular ${\mathcal{P,T}}$-odd interaction parameters that cannot be measured from any experiment. In this work, we report the precise value of the ${\mathcal{P,T}}$-odd interaction parameters of the BaF molecule obtained from the four-component relativistic coupled-cluster calculations. We also calculate the hyperfine structure (HFS) constants of the same molecule to assess the reliability of the reported molecular parameters. The calculated HFS constants show good agreement with the available experimental values. Further, the systematic effects of electron-correlation along with the roles of inner-core electrons and the virtual energy functions in the calculation of the studied properties of BaF are investigated.

The molecular frame dipole moment and the magnetic hyperfine structure (HFS) constant of the molecule are also calculated at the same level of theory. The outcome of our study is that HgF has a high value of $E_\text{eff}$ (115.9 GV/cm), $W_\text{s}$ (266.4 kHz) and $W_\text{M}$ ($3.59\times 10^{33}$Hz/e.cm$^2$), which shows that it can be a possible candidate for the search of new physics beyond the Standard model. Our results are in good agreement with the available literature values. Furthermore, we investigate the effect of the basis set and that of the virtual energy functions on the computed properties. The open-shell reference relativistic equation-of-motion coupled-cluster method within its four-component description is successfully implemented with the consideration of single- and double- excitation approximation. The one-body and two-body matrix elements required for the correlation calculation are generated using Dirac-Coulomb Hamiltonian. As a first attempt, the implemented method is employed to calculate a few of the low-lying ionized states of heavy atomic (Ag, Cs, Au, Fr, Lr) and valence ionization potential of molecular (HgH, PbF) systems, where the effect of relativity does really matter to obtain highly accurate results. Not only the relativistic effect, but also the effect of electron correlation is crucial in these heavy atomic and molecular systems. To justify the fact, we have taken two further approximations in the four-component relativistic equation-of-motion framework to quantify how the effect of electron correlation plays a role in the calculated values at different level of the approximation. All these calculated results are compared with the available experimental data as well as with other theoretically calculated values to judge the extent of accuracy obtained in our calculations. A nice agreement is achieved for all the considered systems which validates the performance of the open-shell reference relativistic equation-of-motion coupled-cluster method.

The high effective electric field ($E_\mathrm{eff}$) experienced by the unpaired electron in an atom or a molecule is one of the key ingredients in the success of electron electric dipole moment (eEDM) experiment and its precise calculation require a very accurate theory. We, therefore, employed the Z-vector method in the relativistic coupled-cluster framework and found that HgH has a very large $E_\mathrm{eff}$ value (123.2 GV/cm) which makes it a potential candidate for the next generation eEDM experiment. Our study also reveals that it has a large scalar-pseudoscalar ${\mathcal{P,T}}$-violating interaction constant, $W_\mathrm{s}$ = 284.2 kHz. To judge the accuracy of the obtained results we have calculated parallel and perpendicular magnetic HFS constants and compared with the available experimental values. The results of our calculation are found to be in nice agreement with the experimental values. Therefore, by looking at the HFS results we can say that both $E_\mathrm{eff}$ and $W_\mathrm{s}$ values are also very accurate. Further, We have derived the relationship between these quantities and the ratio which will help to get model independent value of eEDM and S-PS interaction constant.

Further, we have calculated molecular dipole moment and parallel magnetic hyperfine structure constant (A$_\|$) of $^{207}$Pb in PbF to test the accuracy of the wave function obtained in the Z-vector method. The outcome of our calculations clearly suggests that the core electrons have significant contribution to the "atom in compound (AIC)" properties.

The article considers the successful implementation of relativistic equation-of-motion coupled cluster method for the electron attachment problem (EA-EOMCC) at the level of single- and double- excitation approximation. The implemented relativistic EA-EOMCC method is employed to calculate ionization potential values of alkali metal atoms (Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Fr) and the vertical electron affinity values of LiX (X = H, F, Cl, Br), NaY (Y = H, F, Cl) starting from their closed-shell configuration. Both four-component and exact two-component calculations are done for all the opted systems. Further, we have shown the effect of spin-orbit interaction considering the atomic systems. The results of our atomic calculations are compared with the values from the NIST database and the results are found to be very accurate (< 1 %).

The molecular dipole moment and magnetic hyperfine structure constant demand an accurate wavefunction far from the nucleus and in near nuclear region, respectively. We, therefore, employ the so-called Z-vector method in the domain of relativistic coupled cluster theory to calculate the first order property of molecular systems in their open-shell ground state configuration. The implemented method is applied to calculate molecular dipole moment and parallel component of the magnetic hyperfine structure constant of SrF molecule. The results of our calculation are compared with the experimental and other available theoretically calculated values. We are successful in achieving good accordance with the experimental results. The result of our calculation of molecular dipole moment is in the accuracy of ~? 0.5 %, which is clearly an improvement over the previous calculation based on the expectation value method in the four component coupled cluster framework [V. S. Prasannaa et al, Phys. Rev. A 90, 052507 (2014)] and it is the best calculated value till date. Thus, it can be inferred that the Z vector method can provide an accurate wavefunction in both near and far nuclear region, which is evident from our calculated results.

This article deals with the general implementation of 4-component spinor relativistic extended coupled cluster (ECC) method to calculate first order property of atoms and molecules in their open-shell ground state configuration. The implemented relativistic ECC is employed to calculate hyperfine structure (HFS) constant of alkali metals (Li, Na, K, Rb and Cs), singly charged alkaline earth metal atoms (Be+, Mg+, Ca+ and Sr+) and molecules (BeH, MgF and CaH). We have compared our ECC results with the calculations based on restricted active space configuration interaction (RAS-CI) method. Our results are in better agreement with the available experimental values than those of the RAS-CI values.

We report the implementation of 4-component spinor relativistic equation-of-motion coupledcluster method within the single- and double- excitation approximation to calculate ionization potential (EOM-CCSD) of molecules. We have applied this method to calculate vertical ionization potentials of the molecules, XH(X=F, Cl, Br, I) along with Cl2 and Br2 in their closed-shell configuration. We have also presented intermediate results using 2-nd order many-body perturbation theory level in the EOM framework (EOM-MBPT(2)) to understand the role of electron correlation. All the calculated values are compared with the available experimental results. Our results are found to be in well agreement with the sophisticated experiments and relative deviation of less than 1% achieved for all the considered systems.

A recently implemented relativistic four-component configuration interaction approach to study ${\cal{P}}$- and ${\cal{T}}$-odd interaction constants in atoms and molecules is employed to determine the electron electric dipole moment effective electric field in the $Ω=1$ first excited state of the ThO molecule. We obtain a value of $E_{\text{eff}} = 75.6 \left[\frac{\rm GV}{\rm cm}\right]$ with an estimated error bar of $3\%$ and $10\%$ smaller than a previously reported result [arXiv:1308.0414 [physics.atom-ph]]. Using the same wavefunction model we obtain an excitation energy of $T_v^{Ω=1} = 5329$ [\cm], in accord with the experimental value within $2\%$. In addition, we report the implementation of the magnetic hyperfine interaction constant $A_{||}$ as an expectation value, resulting in $A_{||} = -1335$ [MHz] for the $Ω=1$ state in ThO. The smaller effective electric field increases the previously measured upper bound to the electron electric dipole moment interaction constant [arXiv:1310.7534v2 [physics.atom-ph]] and thus mildly mitigates constraints to possible extensions of the Standard Model of particle physics.
