Realizing tunable functional materials with built-in nanoscale heat flow directionality represents a significant challenge with the potential to enable novel thermal management strategies. Here we use spatiotemporally-resolved thermoreflectance to visualize lateral thermal transport anisotropy in self-assembled supercrystals of anisotropic Au nanocrystals. Correlative electron and thermoreflectance microscopy reveal that heat predominantly flows along the long-axis of the anisotropic nanocrystals, and does so across grain boundaries and curved assemblies while voids disrupt heat flow. We finely control the anisotropy via the aspect ratio of constituent nanorods, and it exceeds the aspect ratio for nano-bipyramid supercrystals and certain nanorod arrangements. Finite element simulations and effective medium modeling rationalize the emergent anisotropic behavior in terms of a simple series resistance model, further providing a framework for estimating thermal anisotropy as a function of material and structural parameters. Self-assembly of colloidal nanocrystals promises a novel route to direct heat flow in a wide range of applications that utilize this important class of materials.

Abstract:
In the present work we have investigated a new anisotropic solution for polytropic star in the framework of $4D$ Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet (EGB) gravity. The possibility of determining the masses and radii of compact stars which puts some limitations on equation of state (EoS) above the nuclear saturation density. For this purpose, the $4D$ EGB field equations are solved by taking a generalized polytropic equation of state (EoS) with Finch-Skea ansatz. The generalized solution for anisotropic model has been tested for different values of Gauss-Bonnet constant $α$ which satisfies all the physical criteria including causality with static stability via mass vs central mass density ($M-ρ_c$), Bondi and Abreu criterion. The adiabatic index shows a minor influence of the GB coupling constant whereas the central and surface redshifts in the EGB gravity always remain lower than the GR. We present the possibility of fitting the mass and radius for some known compact star via $M-R$ curve which satisfies the recent gravitational wave observations from GW 170817 event.

In the work, we present investigation on decoupling gravitational sources under the framework of $f(R,T)$ gravity. Basically the complete geometric deformation technique has been employed here which facilitates finding exact solutions to the anisotropic astrophysical system smoothly without imposing any particular ansatz for deformation function. Along with this we have also used 5-dimensional Euclidean spacetime in order to describe the embedding Class I spacetime for getting a solvable spherical physical system. The solutions thus obtained show physically interesting as well as viable with new possibilities to sought for. Especially, from the present investigation it is worthy to note that the mixture $f(R,T)$ + CGD translate the scenario beyond the pure GR realm and hence clearly helps to enhance the features of the interior astrophysical aspects of compact stellar objects. Therefore to check the physical acceptability and stability of the stellar system based on the obtained solutions, we have performed a few physical tests which satisfy all the stability criteria, including nonsingular nature of the density as well as pressure.

In the present paper, we discuss the role of gravitational decoupling to isotropize the anisotropic solution of Einstein's field equations in the context of the complete geometric deformation (CGD) approach and its influence on the complexity factor introduced by L. Herrera (Phys. Rev. D 97, 044010 (2018)) in the static self-gravitating system. Moreover, we also proposed a simple and effective technique to generate new solutions for self-gravitating objects via CGD approach by using two systems with the same complexity factor and vanishing complexity factor proposed by Casadio et al. Eur. Phys. J. C 79, 826 (2019). The effect of decoupling constant and the compactness on the complexity factor have been also analyzed for the obtained solutions.
