Classification of generalized torsion elements of order two in 3-manifold groups
Abstract: Let $G$ be a group and $g$ a non-trivial element in $G$. If some non-empty finite product of conjugates of $g$ equals to the identity, then $g$ is called a generalized torsion element. The minimum number of conjugates in such a product is called the order of $g$. We will classify $3$-manifolds $M$, each of whose fundamental group has a generalized torsion element of order two. Tetrahedron equation and Schur functions

Several types of solutions to the tetrahedron equation that have connections to quantum groups can be viewed as $q$-oscillator valued vertex models with matrix elements of the $L$-operators given by generators of the $q$-oscillator algebra acting on the Fock space. The stable crossing number of a twist family of knots and the satellite crossing number conjecture
Abstract: Twisting a given knot $K$ about an unknotted circle $c$ a full $n \in \mathbb{N}$ times, we obtain a "twist family" of knots $\{ K_n \}$. Work of Kouno-Motegi-Shibuya implies that for a non-trivial twist family the crossing numbers $\{c(K_n)\}$ of the knots in a twist family grows unboundedly. However potentially this growth is rather slow and may never become monotonic. Nevertheless, based upon t… ▽ More

Dehn filling and the knot group I: Realization Property
Abstract: Each $r$--Dehn filling of the exterior $E(K)$ of a knot $K$ in $S^3$ produces a $3$--manifold $K(r)$, and induces an epimorphism from the knot group $G(K) = π_1(E(K))$ to $π_1(K(r))$, which trivializes elements in its kernel. Twist families of L-space knots, their genera, and Seifert surgeries
Abstract: Conjecturally, there are only finitely many Heegaard Floer L-space knots in $S^3$ of a given genus. We examine this conjecture for twist families of knots $\{K_n\}$ obtained by twisting a knot $K$ in $S^3$ along an unknot $c$ in terms of the linking number $ω$ between $K$ and $c$. We establish the conjecture in case of $|ω| \neq 1$, prove that $\{K_n\}$ contains at most three L-space knots if… ▽ More

The slope conjecture for graph knots
Abstract: The slope conjecture proposed by Garoufalidis asserts that the Jones slopes given by the sequence of degrees of the colored Jones polynomials are boundary slopes. We verify the slope conjecture for graph knots, i.e. knots whose Gromov volume vanish.

Comments: We found a gap in the proof of Lemma 3.1 in the last version (1501.01105v2). This lemma is replaced by Proposition 3.2 in [Kalfagianni and Tran; Knot cabling and the degree of the colored Jones polynomial (1501.01574v1)]. The title of the paper is also changed

Hyperbolic, L-space knots and exceptional Dehn surgeries
Abstract: A knot in the 3-sphere is called an L--space knot if it admits a nontrivial Dehn surgery yielding an L--space. Like torus knots and Berge knots, many L--space knots admit also a Seifert fibered surgery. We give a concrete example of a hyperbolic, L-space knot which has no exceptional surgeries, in particular, no Seifert fibered surgeries.

Nonstandard representations of type C affine Hecke algebra from K-operators
Abstract: We construct nonstandard finite-dimensional representations of type C affine Hecke algebra from the viewpoint of quantum integrable models. There exists two classes of nonstandard solutions to the Yang-Baxter equation called the Cremmer-Gervais and Jordanian R-matrices. These R-matrices also satisfy the Hecke-relation, thus can be used to construct nonstandard finite-dimensional representations of… ▽ More

Seifert fibered surgeries on strongly invertible knots without primitive/Seifert positions
Abstract: We find an infinite family of Seifert fibered surgeries on strongly invertible knots which do not have primitive/Seifert positions. Each member of the family is obtained from a trefoil knot after alternate twists along a pair of seiferters for a Seifert fibered surgery on a trefoil knot.

Neighbors of Seifert surgeries on a trefoil knot in the Seifert Surgery Network
Abstract: A Seifert surgery is a pair (K, m) of a knot K in the 3-sphere and an integer m such that m-Dehn surgery on K results in a Seifert fiber space allowed to contain fibers of index zero. Twisting K along a trivial knot called a seiferter for (K, m) yields Seifert surgeries. We study Seifert surgeries obtained from those on a trefoil knot by twisting along their seiferters. Although Seifert surgeries… ▽ More

L-space surgery and twisting operation
Abstract: A knot in the 3-sphere is called an L-space knot if it admits a nontrivial Dehn surgery yielding an L-space, i.e. a rational homology 3-sphere with the smallest possible Heegaard Floer homology. Given a knot K, take an unknotted circle c and twist K n times along c to obtain a twist family { K_n }. We give a sufficient condition for { K_n } to contain infinitely many L-space knots. Networking Seifert Surgeries on Knots III
Abstract: How do Seifert surgeries on hyperbolic knots arise from those on torus knots? We approach this question from a networking viewpoint. The Seifert Surgery Network is a 1-dimensional complex whose vertices correspond to Seifert surgeries; two vertices are connected by an edge if one Seifert surgery is obtained from the other by a single twist along a trivial knot called a seiferter or along an annulu… ▽ More

K-theoretic boson-fermion correspondence and melting crystals
Abstract: We study non-Hermitian integrable fermion and boson systems from the perspectives of Grothendieck polynomials. The models considered in this article are the five-vertex model as a fermion system and the non-Hermitian phase model as a boson system. Both of the models are characterized by the different solutions satisfying the same Yang-Baxter relation. From our previous works on the identification… ▽ More
