Absolute frequency measurement of the $6s^2~^1S_0 \to 6s6p~^3P_1$ $F=3/2\to F'=5/2$ $^{\text{201}}$Hg transition with background-free saturation spectroscopy
Abstract: We report the development of a method for eliminating background-induced systematic shifts affecting precise measurements of saturation absorption signals. With this technique, we measured the absolute frequency of the $6s^2~^1\text{S}_0 \to 6s6p~^3\text{P}_1$ transition in $^{201a}\text{Hg}$ ($F=3/2\to F'=5/2$) to be $1181541111051(83)$~kHz. The measurement was referenced with an optical frequenc… ▽ More

First observation with global network of optical atomic clocks aimed for a dark matter detection
Abstract: We report on the first earth-scale quantum sensor network based on optical atomic clocks aimed at dark matter (DM) detection. Exploiting differences in the susceptibilities to the fine-structure constant of essential parts of an optical atomic clock, i.e. the cold atoms and the optical reference cavity, we can perform sensitive searches for dark matter signatures without the need of real-time comp… ▽ More

Absolute frequency determination of molecular transition in the Doppler regime at kHz level of accuracy
Abstract: We present absolute frequency measurement of the unperturbed P7 P7 O$_2$ B-band transition with relative standard uncertainty of $2\times10^{-11}$. We reached the level of accuracy typical for Doppler-free techniques, with Doppler-limited spectroscopy. The Doppler-limited shapes of the P7 P7 spectral line were measured with a frequency-stabilized cavity ring-down spectrometer referenced to an… ▽ More

Fibre-optic delivery of time and frequency to VLBI station
Abstract: The quality of Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) radio observations predominantly relies on precise and ultra-stable time and frequency (T&F) standards, usually hydrogen masers (HM), maintained locally at each VLBI station. Here, we present an operational solution in which the VLBI observations are routinely carried out without use of a local HM, but using remote synchronization via a stabi… ▽ More

Dual Hg-Rb magneto-optical trap
Abstract: We present a two-species laser cooling apparatus capable of simultaneously collecting Rb and Hg atomic gases into a magneto-optical trap (MOT). The atomic sources, laser system, and vacuum set-up are described. While there is a loss of Rb atoms in the MOT due to photoionization by the Hg cooling laser, we show that it does not prevent simultaneous trap** of Rb and Hg. We also demonstrate intersp… ▽ More

Searching for topological defect dark matter with optical atomic clocks
Abstract: The total mass density of the Universe appears to be dominated by dark matter. However, beyond its gravitational interactions at the galactic scale, little is known about its nature. Extensions of the quantum electrodynamics Lagrangian with dark-matter coupling terms may result in changes to Standard Model parameters. Recently, it was proposed that a network of atomic clocks could be used to searc… ▽ More

Absolute measurement of the ${}^{1}S_{0}$ - ${}^{3}P_{0}$ clock transition in neutral ${}^{88}$Sr over the 330 km-long stabilized fibre optic link
Abstract: We report a stability below $7\times 10{}^{-17}$ of two independent optical lattice clocks operating with bosonic ${}^{88}$Sr isotope. The value (429228066418008.3(1.9)${}_{syst}$(0.9)${}_{stat}$~Hz) of the absolute frequency of the ${}^{1}S_{0}$ - ${}^{3}P_{0}$ transition was measured with an optical frequency comb referenced to the local representation of the UTC by the 330 km-long stabilized fi… ▽ More

Strontium optical lattice clocks for practical realization of the metre and secondary representation of the second
Abstract: We present a system of two independent strontium optical lattice standards probed with a single shared ultra-narrow laser. The absolute frequency of the clocks can be verified by the use of Er:fiber optical frequency comb with the GPS-disciplined Rb frequency standard. We report hertz-level spectroscopy of the clock line and measurements of frequency stability of the two strontium optical lattice… ▽ More

Mass scaling and non-adiabatic effects in photoassociation spectroscopy of ultracold strontium atoms
Abstract: We report photoassociation spectroscopy of ultracold $^{86}$Sr atoms near the intercombination line and provide theoretical models to describe the obtained bound state energies. We show that using only the molecular states correlating with the $^1S_0$$+$$^3P_1$ asymptote is insufficient to provide a mass scaled theoretical model that would reproduce the bound state energies for all isotopes invest… ▽ More

Absolute Frequency Measurement of Rubidium 5S-7S Two-Photon Transitions
Abstract: We report the absolute frequency measurements of rubidium 5S-7S two-photon transitions with a cw laser digitally locked to an atomic transition and referenced to an optical frequency comb. The narrow, two-photon transition, 5S-7S (760 nm) insensitive to first order in a magnetic field, is a promising candidate for frequency reference. The performed tests yield the transition frequency with accurac… ▽ More
