Nonlocal Diffusion Elliptic System Modelling The Behaviour Of a Bacteria And a Living Nutrient
Abstract: In this paper, we discuss the existence and uniqueness of coexistence states for a class of non-local elliptic system. This problem models the behaviour of a bacteria and a living nutrient, whose diffusion depends on the population of the bacteria in a non-local and nonlinear way. Mainly, we employ bifurcation methods and the Implicit Function Theorem to obtain the existence and uniqueness of posi… ▽ More

Generalized eigenvalue problem for an interface elliptic equation
Abstract: In this paper we deal with an eigenvalue problem in an interface elliptic equation. We characterize the set of principal eigenvalues as a level set of a concave and regular function. As application, we study a problem arising in population dynamics. In these problems each species lives in a subdomain, and they interact in a common border, which acts as a geographical barrier.

Unilateral global bifurcation for a class of quasilinear elliptic systems and applications
Abstract: In this paper we establish a unilateral bifurcation result for a class of quasilinear elliptic system strongly coupled, extending a bifurcation theorem due to J. López-Gómez. To this aim, we use several results, such that Fredholm operator of index $0$ theory, eigenvalues of elliptic operators and the Krein-Rutman theorem. Lastly, we apply this result to some particular systems arising from popula… ▽ More

Long-time behavior of an angiogenesis model with flux at the tumor boundary
Abstract: This paper deals with a nonlinear system of partial differential equations modeling a simplified tumor-induced angiogenesis taking into account only the interplay between tumor angiogenic factors and endothelial cells. Considered model assumes a nonlinear flux at the tumor boundary and a nonlinear chemotactic response. It is proved that the choice of some key parameters influences the long-time be… ▽ More

Does the fully parabolic quasilinear 1D Keller-Segel system enjoy long-time asymptotics analogous to its parabolic-elliptic simplification?
Abstract: We show that the one-dimensional fully parabolic Keller-Segel system with nonlinear diffusion possesses global-in-time solutions, provided the nonlinear diffusion is equal to (1+u)^{-α}, for α< 1, independently on the volume of the initial data. We also show that in the critical case, i.e. for α= 1, the same result holds for initial masses smaller than a prescribed constant. Additionally, we prove… ▽ More

Asymptotic behaviour of global solutions to a model of cell invasion
Abstract: In this paper we analyze a mathematical model focusing on key events of the cells invasion process. Global well-possedness and asymptotic behaviour of nonnegative solutions to the corresponding coupled system of three nonlinear partial differential equations are studied.

Global solutions and asymptotic behavior for a parabolic degenerate coupled system arising from biology
Abstract: In this paper we will focus on a parabolic degenerate system with respect to unknown functions u and w on a bounded domain of the two-dimensional Euclidean space. This system appears as a mathematical model for some biological processes. Global existence and uniqueness of a nonnegative classical Hölder continuous solution are proved. The last part of the paper is devoted to the study of the asym… ▽ More
