Status of the global electroweak fit with Gfitter in the light of new precision measurements
Abstract: We present results from the global electroweak fit to precision measurements in the Standard Model (SM). The fit uses the latest theoretical calculations for observables on the $Z$ pole and the $W$ boson mass, yielding precise SM predictions for the effective weak mixing angle and the masses of the $W$ and Higgs bosons, as well as the top quark. Measuring the Luminosity of a gamma gamma Collider with gamma gamma -> l+ l- gamma Events
Abstract: The process gamma gamma -> l+ l- is highly suppressed when the total angular momentum of the two colliding photons is zero so that it cannot be used for luminosity determination. This configuration, however is needed for Higgs production at a photon collider. It will be shown that the process gamma gamma -> l+ l- gamma can be used in this case to measure the luminosity of a collider with a preci… ▽ More

Physics of Electroweak Gauge Boson
Abstract: The study of gauge bosons is interesting in two respects. The properties of gauge bosons are modified by higher order effects that are sensitive to mass scales not directly accessible to experiment. On the other hand interactions amongst gauge bosons are sensitive to the symmetry structure of the theory where especially the interactions involving longitudinally polarised bosons teach us about th… ▽ More

Measurement of Trilinear Gauge Couplings at a gamma-gamma and e-gamma Collider
Abstract: The processes gamma gamma -> WW and e gamma -> nu W are sensitive to triple gauge boson interactions. Both reactions have been simulated for hadronically decaying W-bosons and the sensitivity to anomalous couplings has been estimated.

Present and Future Electroweak Precision Measurements and the Indirect Determination of the Mass of the Higgs Boson
Abstract: We discuss the experimental and theoretical uncertainties on precision electroweak observables and their relationship to the indirect constraints on the Higgs-boson mass, $\MH$, in the Standard Model (SM). The critical experimental measurements ($\MW$, $\sweff$, $\mt$, ...) are evaluated in terms of their present uncertainties and their prospects for improved precision at future colliders, and t… ▽ More

Report of Snowmass 2001 Working Group E2 : Electron-positron Colliders from the $φ$ to the Z
Abstract: We report on the status and plans of experiments now running or proposed for electron-positron colliders at energies between the $φ$ and the Z. The $e^{+}e^{-}$ B and charm factories we considered were PEP-II/BABAR, KEKB/Belle, superKEK, SuperBABAR, and CESR-c/CLEO-c. We reviewed the programs at the $φ$ factory at Frascati and the proposed PEP-N facility at Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. We… ▽ More

Positron polarisation and low energy running at a Linear Collider
Abstract: The physics potential of an e+e- linear collider can be significantly enhanced if both the electron and positron beams are polarised. Low energy running at the Z-resonance or close to the W-pair threshold is particularly attractive with polarised positrons. This note discusses the experimental aspects and physics opportunities of both low energy running and positron polarisation.
