Abstract:
We have investigated structural, electronic and magnetic properties of H$_2$Pc on Fe$_2$N/Fe using low-energy electron diffraction and soft x-ray absorption spectroscopy/x-ray magnetic circular dichroism. Element specific magnetization curves reveal that the magnetic coupling with H$_2$Pc enhances the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy of Fe$_2$N/Fe at the H$_2$Pc coverage of 1 molecular layer. How…

However, adding two and three molecular layers of H$_2$Pc reverts the shape of magnetization curve back to the initial state before H$_2$Pc deposition. We successfully link appearance and disappearance of the magnetic coupling at the H$_2$Pc-Fe$_2$N/Fe interface with the change of hybridization strength at N sites accompanied by the increase in the H$_2$Pc coverage.

L10 ordered magnetic alloys such as FePt, FePd, CoPt and FeNi are well known for their large magnetocrystalline anisotropy. Among these, L10-FeNi alloy is economically viable material for magnetic recording media because it does not contain rare earth and noble elements. In this work, L10-FeNi films with three different strengths of anisotropy were fabricated by varying the deposition process in molecular beam epitaxy system. We have investigated the magnetization reversal along with domain imaging via magneto optic Kerr effect based microscope. It is found that in all three samples, the magnetization reversal is happening via domain wall motion. Further ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) spectroscopy was performed to evaluate the dam** constant and magnetic anisotropy. It was observed that the FeNi sample with moderate strength of anisotropy exhibits low value of dam** constant ~ 4.9X10^-3. In addition to this, it was found that the films possess a mixture of cubic and uniaxial anisotropies.

Abstract:
The anomaly in the anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) was observed for a C1b-type NiMnSb half-Heusler alloy thin film deposited on a MgO (001) substrate. The Nernst angle (θANE) showed maximum peak with decreasing temperature and reached 0.15 at 80 K, which is considered to be brought by the cross-over from half-metal to normal ferromagnet in NiMnSb at low temperature. This anomaly was also observed fo…

We report that an additional voltage is superposed on the conventional anomalous Nernst voltage in FePt crystalline thin films. The dynamics of the local magnetization is modulated by the heat current and excites spin waves. These generate a conduction electron spin current via s-d coupling, which flows along the temperature gradient, and the spin current is converted to a Nernst voltage by the inverse spin Hall effect.

We provide an accurate verification method for solutions of heat equations with a superlinear nonlinearity. The verification method numerically proves the existence and local uniqueness of the exact solution in a neighborhood of a numerically computed approximate solution. Our method is based on a fixed-point formulation using the evolution operator, an iterative numerical verification scheme to extend a time interval in which the validity of the solution can be verified, and rearranged error estimates for avoiding the propagation of an overestimate. As a result, compared with the previous verification method using the analytic semigroup, our method can enclose the solution for a longer time. Some numerical examples are presented to illustrate the efficiency of our verification method.

To obtain this value, we previously proposed a formula for estimating the embedding constant on bounded and unbounded Lipschitz domains by estimating the norm of Stein's extension operator, in the article (K. Tanaka, K. Sekine, M. Mizuguchi, and S. Oishi, Estimation of Sobolev-type embedding constant on domains with minimally smooth boundary using extension operator, Journal of Inequalities and Applications, Vol. 389, pp. 1-23, 2015). This formula is also applicable to a domain that can be divided into Lipschitz domains. However, the values computed by the previous formula are very large. In this paper, we propose several sharper estimations of the embedding constant on a bounded domain that can be divided into convex domains.
