A characterization of quasi-homogeneous singularities of free and nearly free plane curves
Abstract: The goal of this paper is to establish a new and efficient characterization of quasi-homogeneous isolated singularities of free curves and nearly free curves $C$ in $\mathbb{P}^2$. The criterion will be in terms of the first syzygy matrix associated with the Jacobian ideal of $f$ where $f=0$ is the equation of the plane curve $C$.

The weak Lefschetz property for artinian Gorenstein algebras of small Sperner number
Abstract: For artinian Gorenstein algebras in codimension four and higher, it is well known that the Weak Lefschetz Property (WLP) does not need to hold. For Gorenstein algebras in codimension three, it is still open whether all artinian Gorenstein algebras satisfy the WLP when the socle degree and the Sperner number are both higher than six. We here show that all artinian Gorenstein algebras with socle deg… ▽ More

The Minimal Resolution Conjecture on a general quartic surface in $\mathbb P^3$
Abstract: Mustaţă has given a conjecture for the graded Betti numbers in the minimal free resolution of the ideal of a general set of points on an irreducible projective algebraic variety. For surfaces in $\mathbb P^3$ this conjecture has been proven for points on quadric surfaces and on general cubic surfaces. In the latter case, Gorenstein liaison was the main tool. Here we prove the conjecture for genera… ▽ More

Togliatti systems and Galois coverings
Abstract: We study the homogeneous artinian ideals of the polynomial ring $K[x,y,z]$, generated by the homogenous polynomials of degree $d$ which are invariant under an action of the cyclic group $\mathbb Z/d\mathbb Z$, for any $d\geq 3$. We prove that they are all monomial Togliatti systems, and that they are minimal if the action is defined by a diagonal matrix having on the diagonal $(1, e, e^a)$, where… ▽ More

On the strong Lefschetz question for uniform powers of general linear forms in $k[x,y,z]$
Abstract: Schenck and Seceleanu proved that if $R = k[x,y,z]$, where $k$ is an infinite field, and $I$ is an ideal generated by any collection of powers of linear forms, then multiplication by a general linear form $L$ induces a homomorphism of maximal rank from any component of $R/I$ to the next. That is, $R/I$ has the {\em weak Lefschetz property}. Considering the more general {\em strong Lefschetz questi… ▽ More

Ulrich bundles on ruled surfaces
Abstract: In this short note, we study the existence problem for Ulrich bundles on ruled surfaces, focusing our attention on the smallest possible rank. We show that existence of Ulrich line bundles occurs if and only if the coefficient $α$ of the minimal section in the numerical class of the polarization equals one. For other polarizations, we prove the existence of rank two Ulrich bundles.

Rank-two vector bundles on non-minimal ruled surfaces
Abstract: We continue previous works by various authors and study the birational geometry of moduli spaces of stable rank-two vector bundles on surfaces with Kodaira dimension $-\infty$. To this end, we express vector bundles as natural extensions, by using two numerical invariants associated to vector bundles, similar to the invariants defined by Brinzanescu and Stoia in the case of minimal surfaces. We co… ▽ More

The non-Lefschetz locus
Abstract: We study the weak Lefschetz property of artinian Gorenstein algebras and in particular of artinian complete intersections. In codimension four and higher, it is an open problem whether all complete intersections have the weak Lefschetz property. For a given artinian Gorenstein algebra $A$ we ask what linear forms are Lefschetz elements for this particular algebra, i.e., which linear forms $\ell$ g… ▽ More

Harbourne, Schenck and Seceleanu's Conjecture
Abstract: In [HSS], Conjecture 5.5.2, Harbourne, Schenck and Seceleanu conjectured that, for $r=6$ and all $r\ge 8$, the artinian ideal $I=(\ell _1^2,\dots ,l_{r+1}^2)\subset K[x_1, \dots ,x_r]$ generated by the square of $r+1$ general linear forms $\ell _{i}$ fails the Weak Lefschetz property. This paper is entirely devoted to prove this Conjecture. It is worthwhile to point out that half of the Conjecture… ▽ More

Ulrich Schur bundles on flag varieties
Abstract: In this paper, we study equivariant vector bundles on partial flag varieties arising from Schur functors. We show that a partial flag variety with three or more steps does not admit an Ulrich bundle of this form with respect to the minimal ample class. We classify Ulrich bundles of this form on two-step flag varieties F(1,n-1;n), F(2,n-1;n), F(2,n-2;n), F(k,k+1;n) and F(k,k+2;n). We give a conject… ▽ More

The minimal number of generators of a Togliatti system
Abstract: We compute the minimal and the maximal bound on the number of generators of a minimal smooth monomial Togliatti system of forms of degree $d$ in $n+1$ variables, for any $d\ge 2$ and $n\geq 2$. We classify the Togliatti systems with number of generators reaching the lower bound or close to the lower bound. We then prove that if $n=2$ (resp $n=2,3$) all range between the lower and upper bound is co… ▽ More

Homogeneous Ulrich bundles on Flag manifolds
Abstract: Let $V$ be a $K$-vector space of dimension $n+1$. In this paper, we focus our attention into the existence of irreducible homogeneous Ulrich bundles on flag manifolds $\FF(p, q,n)$ which parameterizes all chains of linear subspaces $L_{p} \subset L_{q} \subset \PP(V)$ of dimension $p< q$, respectively. We determine all irreducible homogeneous Ulrich bundles on $\FF(0,n-1,n)$ and we prove that ther… ▽ More
