A theory of strong coupling superconductivity in uranium compounds has been developed, based on electron-electron interaction through magnetic fluctuations described by frequency-dependent magnetic susceptibility. The magnetic field dependence of the electron effective mass is expressed through the field dependence of the magnetic susceptibility components. It is shown that the intensity of triplet pairing, and hence the critical temperature of the transition to the superconducting state, is also determined by the field-dependent susceptibility. The results are discussed in relation to the properties of ferromagnetic uranium compounds URhGe and UCoGe, as well as the recently discovered UTe2.

The measurements (Phys.Rev.B {\bf 100}, 220504(R) (2019)) do not detect noticeable thermal conductivity in superconducting UTe$_2$ in the T=0 limit. At the same time the same crystals exhibit a large residual density of states comparable with its normal state value. The improvement of samples quality leads to the augmentation of critical temperature of transition to the superconducting state accompanied by the decreasing of residual specific heat ratio $C(T)/T$ at $T\to 0$. There is presented an analytic derivation of this inverse correlation property in concrete cases of triplet superconducting states with node-less and point-nodes order parameters allowed by symmetry in UTe$_2$. The obtained explicit formulas for the residual thermal conductivity are in reasonable correspondence with observations.

The presented calculations allow to establish the dependence of longitudinal spin-lattice relaxation rate from temperature and magnetic field. The value 1/T_1T in field perpendicular to spontaneous magnetisation directed along c-axis has maximum in vicinity of Curie temperature whereas it does not reveal similar behaviour in field parallel to the direction of spontaneous magnetisation. Also there was shown that the longitudinal spin-lattice relaxation rate is strongly field dependent when the field directed in b-crystallographic direction but field independent if magnetic field is oriented along a-axis.

Ferromagnetic superconductor URhGe has orthorhombic structure and possesses spontaneous magnetisation along the c-axis. Magnetic field directed along the $b$-axis suppresses ferromagnetism in $c$-direction and leads to a metamagnetic transition into polarised paramagnetic state in the $b$-direction. The theory of these phenomena based on the specific magnetic anisotropy of this material in $(b,c)$ plane is given. Line of the first order metamagnetic transition ends at a critical point. The Van der Waals - type description of behaviour of physical properties near this point is developed. The triplet superconducting state destroyed by orbital effect is recreated in vicinity of the transition. It is shown that the reentrance of superconductivity is caused by the sharp increase of magnetic susceptibility in $b$ direction near the metamagnetic transition. The specific behaviour of the upper critical field in direction of spontaneous magnetisation in UCoGe and in UGe$_2$ related to the field dependence of magnetic susceptibility is discussed.

In metals without inversion center spin-orbit interaction of electrons with crystal lattice lifts spin degeneracy of electron states and splits each band on two bands. The temperature dependence of electron-electron collisions scattering rate is found using the matrix kinetic equation including the electron-impurity and electron-electron intra and inter band scattering. It is shown that in clean enough case when the energy of band splitting exceeds the electron-impurity scattering rate but at the same time it is much smaller than the Fermi energy the square low-temperature dependence of resistivity is still valid.

The reentrant superconductivity is the peculiar phenomenon observed in paramagnetic metal UTe$_2$ in magnetic field parallel to the hard magnetisation axis. It is difficult to explain it in terms of field dependent intensity of magnetic fluctuations like it is done for explanation of the formally similar phenomena in the ferromagnetic uranium superconductors URhGe, UCoGe. Extremely large initial slope of the upper critical field temperature dependence suggests that the phenomenon has the quasi-two-dimensional nature. Indeed, according to the recent band structure calculations by Yuanji Xu et al, Phys.Rev. Kinetic properties of a metal without inversion center are described by four kinetic equations for the diagonal (intra-band) and the off-diagonal (inter-band) elements of matrix distribution function of electrons occupying the states in two bands split by the spin-orbit interaction. The derivation of collision integrals for electron-impurity scatterings and for electron-electron scatterings in a non-centrosymmetric medium is given. Charge, spin and heat transport in the ballistic and the weak impurity scattering regimes is discussed. It is shown that the off-diagonal terms give rise the contribution in charge, spin and heat flows not only due to the interband scattering but also in the collisionless case. The zero-temperature residual resistivity and the residual thermal resistivity are determined by scattering on impurities as well as by the electron-electron scattering.

Uniaxially anisotropic aerogel (nafen) stabilizes transition from the normal to the polar superfluid state which on further cooling transitions to the axipolar orbital glass state (Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 115}, 165304 (2015)). This is the case in nafen aerogel preplated by several atomic layers of $^4$He. When pure liquid $^3$He fills the same nafen aerogel a solid-like layer of $^3$He atoms coats the aerogel structure. The polar state is not formed anymore and a phase transition occurs directly to the axipolar phase (Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 120}, 075301 (2018). The substitution of $^4$He by $^3$He atoms at the aerogel surface changes the potential and adds the exchange scattering of quasiparticles on the aerogel strands. A calculation shows that both of these effects can decrease the degree of anisotropy of scattering and suppress the polar phase formation. The derived anisotropy of the spin diffusion coefficient in globally anisotropic aerogel is determined by the same parameter which controls the polar state emergence which allows one to check the effect of anisotropy change for different types of covering.

The temperature-pressure phase diagram of ferromagnetic superconductor UCoGe includes four phase transitions. They are between the paramagnetic and the ferromagnetic states with the subsequent transition in the superconducting ferromagnetic state and between the normal and the superconducting states after which has to occur the transition to the superconducting ferromagnetic state. Here we have developed the Landau theory description of the phase diagram and established the specific ordering arising at each type of transition.
The phase transitions to the ferromagnetic superconducting state are inevitably accompanied by the emergency of screening currents. An incommensurate spin density wave ($Q$ phase) confined inside the superconducting state at high basal plane magnetic field is an unique property of the heavy fermion metal CeCoIn$_5$. The neutron scattering experiments and the theoretical studies point out that this state come out from the soft mode condensation of magnetic resonance excitations. We show that the fixation of direction of antiferromagnetic modulations by a magnetic field reported by Gerber et al., Nat. Phys. {\bf 10}, 126 (2014) is explained by spin-orbit coupling. This result, obtained on the basis of quite general phenomenological arguments, is supported by the microscopic derivation of the $χ_{zz}$ susceptibility dependence on the mutual orientation of the basal plane magnetic field and the direction of modulation of spin polarization in a multi-band metal.

It is shown that the inhomogeneous distribution of the spin part of the order parameter arising in an array of half-quantum vortices in strong enough magnetic field tilted to the average direction of aerogel strands leads to the appearance of a satellite in the NMR signal shifted in the negative direction with respect to the Larmor frequency. The satellite is absent in the case of an array of single quantum vortices what allows to distinguish these two configurations. The polar state in the anisotropic aerogel with lower density transforms at lower temperatures to the axipolar state. The array of half-quantum vortices created in the polar phase keeps its structure under transition to the axipolar state. The temperature dependence of the vortex-satellite NMR frequency is found to be slower below the transition temperature to the axipolar state.

It is shown that typical for two component superconducting state additional phase transition in the vortex state at $H<H_{c2}$ for all four crystallographic directions of magnetic field in the basal plane and the basal plane upper critical field anisotropy still are inevitable properties even in case of direct intra-orbital pairing.

The current in noncentrosymmetric metals in normal and superconducting state is found in frame of linear response theory. In line with usual terms corresponding diamagnetic response, the Landau diamagnetism and the Pauli paramagnetism the general expression contains also the terms corresponding to spacial dispersion specific for a medium without space parity. This, so called, gyrotropic current is calculated in zero frequency case as well in infrared frequency region. The static gyrotropic current yields negligibly small correction to the London magnetostatics in a superconductor without inversion center. Whereas the high frequency response produces the natural-optical activity revealed f.e. in the Kerr effect. The magnitude of the Kerr angle in infrared frequency region is proved to be in reasonable correspondence with recently reported observations of the Kerr effect in the pseudogap phase in several different high Tc materials.

The singular single quanta vortices as well as nonsingular vortices with 2 quanta of circulation have been revealed in rotating $^3$He-A. However, the half quantum vortices in open geometry always possess an extra energy due to spin-orbit coupling leading to formation of domain wall at distances larger than dipole length $\sim 10^{-3}cm$ from the vortex axis.
Fortunately the same magnetic dipole-dipole interaction does not prevent the existence of half-quantum vortices in the polar phase of superfluid $^3$He recently discovered in peculiar porous media "nematically ordered" aerogel. Here we discuss this exotic possibility.
The discoveries of half-quantum vortices in triplet pairing superconductor Sr$_2$RuO$_4$ as well in the exciton-polariton condensates are the other parts of the story about half-quantum vortices also described in the paper.

There is demonstrated that chiral two-band superconducting ordering recently proposed as candidate for the superconducting state in this material and having the long-expected property such as the intrinsic Hall effect does not exist as energetically disadvantageous in comparison with the states not supporting the Hall effect. Other chiral multi-band superconducting states with intraband pairing do not support an intrinsic Hall properties as well. The superconducting states with direct interband pairing could serve as the probable candidates for the Hall effect existence.

The phase diagram of several itinerant ferromagnets reveals the common feature. The phase transition temperature decreases with pressure increase and reaches zero value at some critical pressure $P_c$ such that at low enough temperatures one can expect critical behavior specific for quantum phase transition. It is not the case, however. Being the second order at ambient pressure the transition from paramagnetic to ferromagnetic state at high pressures - low temperatures is transformed to the discontinuous jump. We discuss the magneto-elastic mechanism of development of the first order type instability at the phase transition to the ferromagnet state in strongly anisotropic ferromagnet UGe2. Using the parameters characterizing the properties of UGe$_2$ we argue the effectiveness of this mechanism transforming the very weak first order type transition to the really observable one.

The implications of the spin exciton mechanism are exposed in the context of a Spin Density Wave (SDW) instability occurring inside the superconducting phase of a layered heavy electron compound. In this model a magnetic field serves as a tuning parameter bringing the system to the point where the transverse spin correlations are enhanced due to dx2 -y2 -wave superconductivity and induces an instability to a phase with coexisting superconductivity and SDW order. The model considers electrons in a crystal with antiferromagnetic interactions and provides restrictions on the Fermi surface characteristics and on the ordering wave-vector (that can be commensurate or incommensurate close to commensuration). The applications of the model are addressed to the low-temperature/high-magnetic-field phase of CeCoIn5 [M. Kenzelmann et al., Science 321, 1652 (2008), Phys. Rev. Lett. 104, 127001 (2010)].

The magneto-elastic mechanism of development of the first order type instability at the phase transition to the ferromagnet state in itinerant ferromagnet-superconductor UGe2 is discussed. The particular property of this material is the precipitous drop of the critical temperature at pressure increase near 14-15 kbar that drastically increases the temperature of the first order instability in respect to the critical temperature. This effect leading to transformation of the second order type transition to the first order one is determined also by the specific heat increase in the temperature interval of the development of critical fluctuations. After performing the necessary calculations and estimations using the parameters characterizing the properties of UGe2 we argue the effectiveness of this mechanism.

Instead widely used paramagnon model we work with phenomenological spectrum of fluctuations in the orthorhombic ferromagnet with strong magnetic anisotropy. Depending of the field orientation parallel or perpendicular to the direction of spontaneous magnetization the effective amplitude of pairing interaction proves to be decreasing or increasing function of magnetic field that allows to explain the drastic difference in magnitudes of upper critical field in these directions.

A theory of thermoelectric phenomena in superfluid $^4He$ is developed. It is found an estimation of the dipole moment of helium atom arising due to electron shell deformation caused by pushing forces from the side of its surrounding atoms. The corresponding electric signal generated in a liquid consisting of electrically neutral atoms by the ordinary sound waves is found extremely small. The second sound waves in superfluid $^4He$ generate the polarization of liquid induced by the relative accelerated motion of the superfluid and the normal component. The derived ratio of the amplitudes of temperature and electric polarization potential was proved to be practically temperature independent. Its magnitude is in reasonable correspondence with the experimental observations. The polarity of electric signal is determined by the sign of temperature gradient in accordance with the measurements. The problem of the roton excitations dipole moment is also discussed.

We present an analysis of the magnetic field distribution in the Abrikosov lattice of high-$κ$ superconductors with singlet pairing in the case where the critical field is mainly determined by the Pauli limit and the superfluid currents partly come from the paramagnetic interaction of electron spins with the local magnetic field. The derivation is performed in the frame of the generalized Clem variational method which is valid not too close to the critical field and furthermore with the Abrikosov type theory in the vicinity of it. The found vortex lattice form factor increases with increasing field and then falls down at approach of the upper critical field where the superconducting state is suppressed.

In the fist part I consider the physical origin of the Kerr rotation polarization of light reflected from the surface of superconducting $Sr_2RuO_4$. Then the comparison of magneto-optical responses in superconductors with orbital and spin spontaneous magnetization is presented. The latter result is applied to the estimation of the magneto-optical properties of neutral superfluids with spontaneous magnetization. The second part is devoted to the natural optical activity or gyrotropy properties of noncentrosymmetric metals in their normal and superconducting states. The temperature behavior of the gyrotropy coefficient is compared with the temperature behavior of paramagnetic susceptibility determining the noticeable increase of the paramagnetic limiting field in noncentrosymmetric superconductors. In the last chapter I describe the order parameter and the symmetry of superconducting state in the itinerant ferromagnet with orthorhombic symmetry. This Chapter gives a brief introduction to some basic aspects metals and superconductors in crystal without inversion symmetry. In a first part we analyze some normal state properties which arise through antisymmetric spin-orbit coupling existing in non-centrosymmetric materials and show its influence on the de Haas-van Alphen effect. For the superconducting phase we introduce a multi-band formulation which naturally arises due the spin splitting of the bands by spin-orbit coupling. It will then be shown how the states can be symmetry classified and their relation to the original classification in even-parity spin-singlet and odd-parity spin-triplet pairing states. The general Ginzburg-Landau functional will be derived and applied to the nucleation of superconductivity in a magnetic field. It will be shown that magneto-electric effects can modify the standard paramagnetic limiting behavior drastically.

In noncentrosymmetric crystals, nonuniform superconducting states are possible even in the absence of any external magnetic field. The origin of these states can be traced to the Lifshitz invariants in the free energy, which are linear in spatial gradients. We show how various types of the Lifshitz invariants in noncentrosymmetric superconductors can be derived from microscopic theory.
