The BReast CAncer type 2 susceptibility protein (BRCA2) responds to DNA damage by participating in homology-directed repair. BRCA2 deficiency culminates in defective DNA damage repair (DDR) that when prolonged leads to the accumulation of DNA damage causing cancer or apoptosis. Oxidative stress promotes DNA damage and apoptosis and is a common mechanism through which cardiovascular risk factors lead to endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerosis. Herein, we show that endothelial BRCA2 plays a protective role against atherosclerosis under hypercholesterolemic stress. We successfully generated and characterized endothelial cell (EC)-specific BRCA2 knockout (BRCA2endo) mice. To study the effect of EC-specific BRCA2-loss in atherosclerosis, we generated and characterized BRCA2endo mice on apolipoprotein E null background (ApoE-/-), fed them with high-fat diet (HFD) and evaluated atherosclerosis. Baseline phenoty** of BRCA2endo mice did not show any adverse effects in terms of DNA damage and apoptosis as well as cardiac and metabolic function. However, using HFD-fed apolipoprotein E knockout (ApoE-/-) background, we demonstrated that EC-specific loss of BRCA2 resulted in aortic plaque deposition and splenomegaly. Comparison of RNA sequencing data from aortas of EC-specific BRCA2-deficient ApoE-/- and BRCA2-intact ApoE-/- mice revealed a total of 530 significantly differentially expressed genes with Protein Folding Response and Lipid Metabolism as the most affected pathways. This study provides foundational knowledge regarding BRCA2 status and function in the cardiovascular system, and highlights the potential of BRCA2 as a novel therapeutic target in prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis. Our data indicate that BRCA2 mutation carriers may be at a previously unrecognized risk of atherosclerosis in addition to breast and ovarian cancer.

Contemporary web pages with increasingly sophisticated interfaces rival traditional desktop applications for interface complexity and are often called web applications or RIA (Rich Internet Applications). They often require the execution of JavaScript in a web browser and can call AJAX requests to dynamically generate the content, reacting to user interaction. From the automatic data acquisition point of view, thus, it is essential to be able to correctly render web pages and mimic user actions to obtain relevant data from the web page content. Briefly, to obtain data through existing Web interfaces and transform it into structured form, contemporary wrappers should be able to: 1) interact with sophisticated interfaces of web applications; 2) precisely acquire relevant data; 3) scale with the number of crawled web pages or states of web application; 4) have an embeddable programming API for integration with existing web technologies. OXPath is a state-of-the-art technology, which is compliant with these requirements and demonstrated its efficiency in comprehensive experiments. OXPath integrates Firefox for correct rendering of web pages and extends XPath 1.0 for the DOM node selection, interaction, and extraction. It provides means for converting extracted data into different formats, such as XML, JSON, CSV, and saving data into relational databases.
This tutorial explains main features of the OXPath language and the setup of a suitable working environment. The guidelines for using OXPath are provided in the form of prototypical examples.

Maintaining literature databases and online bibliographies is a core responsibility of metadata aggregators such as digital libraries. In the process of monitoring all the available data sources the question arises which data source should be prioritized. Based on a broad definition of information quality we are looking for different ways to find the best fitting and most promising conference candidates to harvest next. We evaluate different conference ranking features by using a pseudo-relevance assessment and a component-based evaluation of our approach.

Abstract:
In this paper we obtain new inclusion and coincidence theorems for absolutely or multiple summing multilinear map**s. In particular, we derive optimal coincidence theorems of Bohnenblust-Hille type for multilinear forms on K-convex Banach spaces of cotype 2.

Abstract:
We prove a substantial extension of a well-known result due to Bennett and Carl: The inclusion of a 2-concave symmetric Banach sequence space E into l_2 is (E,1)-summing, i.e. for every unconditionally summable sequence (x_n) in E the scalar sequence (||x_n||_2) is contained in E. Various applications are given, e.g. to the theory of eigenvalue distribution of compact operators and approximation…

Abstract:
Within the theory of complex interpolation and theta-Hilbert spaces we extend classical results of Kwapien on absolutely (r,1)-summing operators on l_1 with values in l_p as well as their natural extensions for mixing operators invented by Maurey. Abstract:
Given an infinite set Λof characters on a compact abelian group we show that Λis a Λ(p)-set for all p>2 if and only if the limit order of the ideal of all Λ-summing operators coincides with that of the ideal of all Gaussian-summing operators. This is a natural counterpart to a recent result of Baur which says that Λis a Sidon set if and only if even the two operator ideals from above coincide. F…

This is a natural counterpart to a recent result of Baur which says that Λis a Sidon set if and only if even the two operator ideals from above coincide. Furthermore, our techniques, which are mainly based on complex interpolation, lead us to exact asymptotic estimates of the Gaussian-summing norm of identities between finite-dimensional Schatten classes.

Abstract:
We prove a complex interpolation formula for the injective tensor product of vector-valued Banach function spaces satisfying certain geometric assumptions. This result unifies results of Kouba, and moreover, our approach offers an alternate proof of Kouba's interpolation formula for scalar-valued Banach function spaces.
