Measurement of the integrated luminosity of data samples collected during 2019-2022 by the Belle II experiment

Abstract: A series of data samples was collected with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB collider from March 2019 to June 2022. We determine the integrated luminosities of these data samples using three distinct methodologies involving Bhabha ($e^+e^- \to e^+e^-(nγ)$), digamma ($e^+e^- \to γγ(nγ)$), and dimuon ($e^+e^- \to μ^+ μ^- (nγ)$) events. Abstract: We report a study of the hadronic transitions $χ_{bJ}(2P)\toωΥ(1S)$, with $ω\toπ^{+}π^{-}π^{0}$, using $28.2\times10^6~Υ(3S)$ mesons recorded by the Belle detector. We present the first evidence for the near--threshold transition $χ_{b0}(2P)\toωΥ(1S)$, the analog of the charm sector decay $χ_{c1}(3872)\toωJ/ψ$, with a branching fraction of $\mathcal{B}\big(χ_{b0}(2P)\toωΥ(1S)\big) = \big(0.55\pm0.19\pm0.07\big)\%$. We also obtain branching fractions of $\mathcal{B}\big(χ_{b1}(2P)\toωΥ(1S)\big) = \big(2.39{}^{+0.20}_{-0.19}\pm0.24\big)\%$ and $\mathcal{B}\big(χ_{b2}(2P)\toωΥ(1S)\big) = \big(0.47{}^{+0.13}_{-0.12}\pm0.06\big)\%$, confirming the measurement of the $ω$ transitions of the $J=1,2~P$--wave states. The ratio for the $J=2$ to $J=1$ transitions is also measured and found to differ by 3.3 standard deviations from the expected value in the QCD multipole expansion. △ Less

Most general isotropic charged fluid solution for Buchdahl model in $\mathscr{F}(Q)$ gravity

In this context, a linear function of the form $\mathscr{F}(Q)=ζ_1 Q+ζ_2$ and a particular transformation is used to solve the Einstein-Maxwell Equations (EMEs) employing the Buchdahl ansatz: $ e^{Υ(r)}=\frac{μ(1+λr^2)}{μ+λr^2}$, where $ζ_1$, $ζ_2$, $λ$ and $μ$ are constant parameters. The Schwarzschild de Sitter~(AdS) exterior solution is joined to the interior solution at the boundary to determine the constant parameters. It should be emphasized that, for a given transformation, the Buchdahl ansatz only offers a mathematically feasible solution in the context of electric charge, where pressure and density are maximum at the center and decrease monotonically towards the boundary when $0<μ<1$. We taken into account the compact star EX01785-248 with $M=(1.3\pm 0.2)M_{\odot}$; Radius $=12.02^{+0.55}_{-0.55}$~km for graphical analysis. The physical acceptability of the model in the context of $\mathscr{F}(Q)$ has been evaluated by looking at the necessary physical properties, including energy conditions, causality, hydrostatic equilibrium, pressure-density ratio, etc. Additionally, we predicted the maximum mass limit of different compact objects for various parameter values along with the mass-radius relation. The maximum masses range (1.927 - 2.321)~$M_\odot$ are obtained for our solution. It can be observed that when the coupling parameter $ζ_1$ for $\mathscr{F}(Q)$ gravity is smaller, then our solution yields massive stars. The present investigation provides novel insights and realistic implications regarding the formation of compact astrophysical objects. △ Less

Abstract: We search for excited charmed baryons in the $Λ_c^+η$ system using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 980 $\rm fb^{-1}$. The data were collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB $e^{+}$$e^{-}$ asymmetric-energy collider. No significant signals are found in the $Λ_c^+η$ mass spectrum, including the known $Λ_c(2880)^+$ and $Λ_c(2940)^+$. We set upper limits at 90\% credibility level on ratios of branching fractions of $Λ_c(2880)^+$ and $Λ_c(2940)^+$ decaying to $Λ_c^+η$ relative to $Σ_c(2455)π$ of $<0.13$ for the $Λ_c(2880)^+$ and $<1.11$ for the $Λ_c(2940)^+$. Shadow and strong gravitational lensing of new wormhole solutions supported by embedding Class-I condition

Two newly calculated wormhole solutions satisfy all the required properties. All the energy conditions are discussed through their validity regions for the different ranges of involved parameters. In maximum regions, all energy conditions are violated. We investigate the shadow and strong gravitational lensing by the wormhole throat for the two new wormhole models, namely Model-I and Model-II. The present paper considers the wormhole throat to act as a photon sphere. We first derive null geodesics using the Hamilton-Jacobi separation method to investigate the shadow and strong gravitational lensing caused by the wormhole throat. We then numerically obtain the radius of wormhole shadow, strong deflection angle, and various lensing observables by taking the example of supermassive black M87* and Sgr A* in the context of both Model-I and Model-II. Kee** all other parameters fixed, it is observed that the parameters $ζ_1$ and $ζ_2$ for Model-I; and $χ_1$ and $χ_2$ for Model-II have significant effects on the wormhole shadow and strong gravitational lensing phenomena. Our conclusion is that it is possible to detect relativistic images, such as Einstein rings, produced by wormholes with throat radii of $r_{th}=3M$. The event yields are extracted… ▽ More We present measurements of the branching fractions of eight $\overline B{}^0\to D^{(*)+} K^- K^{(*)0}_{(S)}$, $B^{-}\to D^{(*)0} K^- K^{(*)0}_{(S)}$ decay channels. The results are based on data from SuperKEKB electron-positron collisions at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance collected with the Belle II detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $362~\text{fb}^{-1}$. The event yields are extracted from fits to the distributions of the difference between expected and observed $B$ meson energy, and are efficiency-corrected as a function of $m(K^-K^{(*)0}_{(S)})$ and $m(D^{(*)}K^{(*)0}_{(S)})$ in order to avoid dependence on the decay model. These results include the first observation of $\overline B{}^0\to D^+K^-K_S^0$, $B^-\to D^{*0}K^-K_S^0$, and $\overline B{}^0\to D^{*+}K^-K_S^0$ decays and a significant improvement in the precision of the other channels compared to previous measurements. The helicity-angle distributions and the invariant mass distributions of the $K^- K^{(*)0}_{(S)}$ systems are compatible with quasi-two-body decays via a resonant transition with spin-parity $J^P=1^-$ for the $K^-K_S^0$ systems and $J^P= 1^+$ for the $K^-K^{*0}$ systems. Abstract: We report the result of a search for the rare decay $B^{0} \to γγ$ using a combined dataset of $753\times10^{6}$ $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected by the Belle experiment and $387\times10^{6}$ $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected by the Belle II experiment from decays of the $\rm Υ(4S)$ resonance produced in $e^{+}e^{-}$ collisions. Test of light-lepton universality in $τ$ decays with the Belle II experiment

Using an optimise… ▽ More We present a measurement of the ratio $R_μ= \mathcal{B}(τ^-\to μ^-\barν_μν_τ) / \mathcal{B}(τ^-\to e^-\barν_eν_τ)$ of branching fractions $\mathcal{B}$ of the $τ$ lepton decaying to muons or electrons using data collected with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB $e^+e^-$ collider. The sample has an integrated luminosity of 362 fb$^{-1}$ at a centre-of-mass energy of 10.58 GeV. Using an optimised event selection, a binned maximum likelihood fit is performed using the momentum spectra of the electron and muon candidates. The result, $R_μ= 0.9675 \pm 0.0007 \pm 0.0036$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic, is the most precise to date. It provides a stringent test of the light-lepton universality, translating to a ratio of the couplings of the muon and electron to the $W$ boson in $τ$ decays of $0.9974 \pm 0.0019$, in agreement with the standard model expectation of unity. △ Less

Search for Two-Body $B$ Meson Decays to $Λ^{0}$ and $Ω^{(*)0}_{c}$

Abstract: We report the results of the first search for Standard Model and baryon-number-violating two-body decays of the neutral $B$ mesons to $Λ^{0}$ and $Ω^{(*)0}_c$ using 711~${\rm fb^{-1}}$ of data collected at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+ e^-$ collider. Imprints of dark energy models on structural properties of charged gravastars in extended teleparallel gravity

The middle shell consists of ultrarelativistic plasma and pressure, which is directly proportional to the matter density and counteracts the repellent force exerted by the inner zone. In the outer zone, we compute the precise solution in a vacuum and then connect these spacetimes using junction conditions to investigate stability limits. We aim to investigate the influence of dark energy models on the stable characteristics of gravastar configurations. It is worth noting that the phantom field exhibits the highest stable configurations for all physically viable selections of physical parameters. Signal yields are extract… ▽ More We report a measurement of the $e^+e^- \to π^+π^-π^0$ cross section in the energy range from 0.62 to 3.50 GeV using an initial-state radiation technique. We use an $e^+e^-$ data sample corresponding to 191 $\text{fb}^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity, collected at a center-of-mass energy at or near the $Υ{(4S)}$ resonance with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB collider. Signal yields are extracted by fitting the two-photon mass distribution in $e^+e^- \to π^+π^-π^0γ$ events, which involve a $π^0 \to γγ$ decay and an energetic photon radiated from the initial state. Signal efficiency corrections with an accuracy of 1.6% are obtained from several control data samples. The uncertainty on the cross section at the $ω$ and $φ$ resonances is dominated by the systematic uncertainty of 2.2%. The resulting cross sections in the 0.62-1.80 GeV energy range yield $ a_μ^{3π} = [48.91 \pm 0.23~(\mathrm{stat}) \pm 1.07~(\mathrm{syst})] \times 10^{-10} $ for the leading-order hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment. This result differs by $2.5$ standard deviations from the most precise current determination. △ Less

New embedded wormhole solutions in Ricci inverse gravity

We show that the combination of these newly calculated shape functions and Ricci inverse gravity provides us with the possibility of obtaining traversable wormholes. All the required wormhole properties are discussed, along with flaring out and flatness conditions. The embedded diagrams within the scope of upper and lower universes are provided under the effect of both newly calculated embedded shape functions. All the energy conditions are explored with valid and negative regions. The presence of exotic matter is confirmed due to the negative region in all the energy conditions, specifically in the null energy condition. The Doppler effect through the red-blue shifts function is also discussed. Several key findings from the current research are described that demonstrate the validity of these wormhole solutions in Ricci inverse gravity. △ Less

Influence of pressure anisotropy and non-metricity parameter on mass-radius relation and stability of millisecond pulsar in $f(Q)$ gravity

This l… ▽ More In this study we explore the astrophysical implications of pressure anisotropy on the physical characteristics of millisecond pulsars within the framework of $f(Q)$ gravity. Starting off with the field equations for anisotropic matter distributions, we adopt the physically salient Durgapal-Fuloria ansatz together with a well-motivated anisotropic factor for the interior matter distribution. This leads to a nonlinear second order differential equation which is integrated to give the complete gravitational and thermodynamical properties of the stellar object. The resulting model is subjected to rigorous tests to ensure that it qualifies as a physically viable compact object within the $f(Q)$-gravity framework. We study in detail two factors, one being non-metricity (gravitational interaction) and the other the pressure anisotropy (matter variation) and their contributions to the mass, radius and stability of the star. Our analyses indicate that our models are well-behaved, singularity-free and can account for the existence of a wide range of observed pulsars with masses ranging from 2.08 to 2.67 $M_{\odot}$, with the upper value being in the so-called {\em mass gap} regime observed in gravitational events such as GW190814. A novel finding of this work is two-fold: an increase in the non-metricity factor (fixed anisotropy) leads to a spectrum of pulsars with radii ranging from a minimum of 10 km whereas a variation in anisotropy (fixed non-metricity) restricts the radii to a narrow window between ($12 - 13.2$) km for a 450 Hz pulsar. In addition, contributions from anisotropy outweigh the impact of nonmetricity in predicting the masses of pulsars with the ratio, $\left(\frac{M_Δ}{M_Q}\right)_{max} \approx 2.43 $ for low mass pulsars. △ Less

Conservative wormholes in generalized $κ(\mathcal{R},\mathcal{T})$-function

The first solution was explored assuming a constant redshift function that leads to a wormhole (WH) which is asymptotically non-flat. The remaining solutions were explored in two cases. Firstly, assuming a linear equation of state $p(r)=ωρ(r)$ along with different forms of $κ(\mathcal{R},\mathcal{T})-$function. This proved enough to derive a shape function of the form $b(r)=r_{0}\left(\frac{r_{0}}{r}\right)^{1/ω}$. Secondly, by assuming specific choices of the shape function consistent with the wormhole configuration requirements. All the solutions fulfill flare-out condition, asymptotically flat and supported by phantom energy. Further, the embedding surface and its revolution has been generated using numerical method to see how the length of the throat is affected of the coupling parameters through $κ(\mathcal{R},\mathcal{T})$ function. At the end, we have also calculated the average null energy condition, which is satisfied by all the WH models signifying minimum exotic matter is required to open the WH throats. △ Less

Constraining Cosmological Parameters with Viscous Modified Chaplygin Gas and Generalized Cosmic Chaplygin Gas Models in Horava-Lifshitz Gravity: Utilizing Late-time Datasets

Our aim is to constrain essential cosmological parameters, such as the Hubble Parameter ($H_{0}$) and Sound Horizon ($r_{d}$). We utilize late-time datasets: 17 Baryon Acoustic Oscillation observations, 33 Cosmic Chronometer measurements, 40 Type Ia Supernovae data points, 24 quasar Hubble diagram data points, and 162 Gamma Ray Bursts data points, along with the latest determination of the Hubble constant (R22). Treating $r_{d}$ as a free parameter offers several advantages, including mitigating bias, enhancing precision, and improving compatibility with various datasets. By introducing random correlations in the covariance matrix during simulation, errors are effectively reduced. Our estimated values of the Hubble constant ($H_0$) and $r_{d}$ consistently align with measurements from both the Planck and SDSS experiments. Cosmographic tests provide valuable insights into the dynamics of various cosmological models, enriching our understanding of cosmic evolution. Statefinder diagnostics offer deeper insights into cosmic expansion dynamics, aiding in distinguishing between cosmological frameworks. Furthermore, the $o_{m}$ diagnostic test reveals that at late times, VMMG falls into the phantom region, while GCCM falls into the quintessence region. The Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) and Bayesian Information Criterion (BIC) support all models, indicating plausible explanations. Notably, the $Λ$CDM model emerges with the lowest AIC score, suggesting its relatively superior fit. Validation via the reduced $χ_{\text{red}}^{2}$ statistic confirms satisfactory fits across all models, reinforcing their credibility. △ Less

There is no significant $P_c(4312)^+$, $P_c(4440)^+$ or $P_c(4457)^+$ signal found in the $pJ/ψ$ final states in $Υ(1,2S)$ inclusive decays. Search for a $μ^+μ^-$ resonance in four-muon final states at Belle II

Abstract: We report on a search for a resonance $X$ decaying to a pair of muons in $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow μ^+ μ^- X$ events in the 0.212-9.000 GeV/$c^{2}$ mass range, using 178 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected by the BelleII experiment at the SuperKEKB collider at a center of mass energy of 10.58 GeV. The analysis probes two different models of $X$ beyond the standard model: a $Z^{\prime}$ vector boson in the… ▽ More We report on a search for a resonance $X$ decaying to a pair of muons in $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow μ^+ μ^- X$ events in the 0.212-9.000 GeV/$c^{2}$ mass range, using 178 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected by the BelleII experiment at the SuperKEKB collider at a center of mass energy of 10.58 GeV. The analysis probes two different models of $X$ beyond the standard model: a $Z^{\prime}$ vector boson in the $L_μ-L_τ$ model and a muonphilic scalar. We observe no evidence for a signal and set exclusion limits at the 90$\%$ confidence level on the products of cross section and branching fraction for these processes, ranging from 0.046 fb to 0.97 fb for the $L_μ-L_τ$ model and from 0.055 fb to 1.3 fb for the muonphilic scalar model. For masses below 6 GeV/$c^{2}$, the corresponding constraints on the couplings of these processes to the standard model range from 0.0008 to 0.039 for the $L_μ-L_τ$ model and from 0.0018 to 0.040 for the muonphilic scalar model. Dynamical stability of new wormhole solutions via cold dark matter and solitonic quantum wave halos in $f(\mathcal{R},\mathcal{L}_m)$ gravity

We use an anisotropic matter source and a particular type of energy density demonstrating cold dark matter halo and quantum wave dark matter halo to calculate two different wormhole solutions. The properties of the exotic matter within the wormhole geometry and the matter contents via energy conditions are studied in detail, both analytically and graphically, by showing valid and invalid regions. The calculated shape functions of wormhole geometry satisfy the required conditions in both cases. Further, we investigate the stability of the shell around wormhole structures by considering black hole solutions in the framework of cold dark matter halo and quantum wave dark matter by assuming matter contents located at the shell follow the phantom-like equations of state. Then, for quintessence and phantom energy type equations of state, the choice of cold dark matter halo has maximum stability at lower equilibrium shell radii and declines as the radius rises. More petite wormhole throats have an unstable configuration for the dark energy matter content, while higher wormhole throat radius has the lowest stability. For the choice of quantum wave dark matter, the shell around the wormhole structure is unstable for both quintessence and phantom energy, while dark energy shows a stable configuration for smaller values of wormhole throat. △ Less

Investigating $ω(z)$ Parametrizations in Horava-Lifshitz Gravity: Observational Constraints with Covariance Matrix Simulation

We treat $r_{d}$ as a free parameter, aiming to extract $H_{0}$ and $r_{d}$ using late-time datasets and obtain optimal fitting values for each parameter in every model. The benefits of treating $r_{d}$ as a free parameter include reduced bias, improved precision, and enhanced dataset compatibility. The resulting values of $H_{0}$ and $r_{d}$ are relative to the $Λ$CDM model, showcasing alignment with early Planck and SDSS estimations. We additionally minimize errors by simulating random correlations in the covariance matrix. Furthermore, the Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) and Bayesian Information Criterion (BIC) support all models, with the $Λ$CDM model exhibiting the lowest AIC. Evaluation via reduced chi-square statistic confirms reasonable fits for all models. While $Λ$CDM remains favored, extensions warrant further investigation. This study underscores the importance of exploring alternative cosmological models to deepen our understanding of the universe's fundamental properties and evolution. We search for production of the HNL (denoted $N$) in the decay $τ^-\to π^- N$ followed by its decay via $N \to μ^+μ^- ν_τ$. The search focuses on the parameter-space region in which the HNL is long lived, so that the $μ^+μ^-$ originate from a common vertex that is significantly displaced from the collision point of the KEKB beams. Consistent with the expected background yield, one event is observed in the data sample after application of all the event-selection criteria. By analyzing the mass distribution of the $π^+π^-Υ(nS)$ system and the Born cross sections of the $e^{+}e^{-}\toπ^{+}π^{-}Υ(nS)$ process, we report the first observation of $Υ(10753)$ decays to the $π^{+}π^{-}Υ(1S)$ and $π^{+}π^{-}Υ(2S)$ final states, and find no evidence for decays to $π^{+}π^{-}Υ(3S)$. Possible intermediate states in the $π^+π^-Υ(1S,2S)$ transitions are also investigated, and no evidence for decays proceeding via the $π^\mp Z_b^\pm$ or $f_0(980)Υ(nS)$ intermediate states is found. We measure Born cross sections for the $e^{+}e^{-}\toπ^{+}π^{-}Υ(nS)$ process that, combined with results from Belle, improve the precision of measurements of the $Υ(10753)$ mass and width by nearly a factor of two to $(10756.3\pm2.7\pm0.6)$ MeV/$c^2$ and $(29.7\pm8.5\pm1.1)$ MeV, respectively. The relative ratios of the Born cross sections at the $Υ(10753)$ resonance peak are also reported for the first time. △ Less

The results are interpreted in terms of both direct baryon-number-violating $B^-$ decay and $Ξ_{c}^{0}-\barΞ_{c}^{0}$ oscillations which follow the Standard Model decay $B^- \to Ξ_{c}^{0} \barΛ_{c}^{-}$. We observe no evidence for baryon number violation and set the 95\% confidence-level upper limits on the ratio of baryon-number-violating and Standard Model branching fractions ${\mathcal{B}(B^- \rightarrow \barΞ_{c}^{0} \barΛ_{c}^{-})}/{\mathcal{B}(B^- \rightarrow Ξ_{c}^{0} \barΛ_{c}^{-})}$ to be $< 2.7\%$ and on the $Ξ_{c}^{0} - \barΞ_{c}^{0}$ oscillation angular frequency $ω$ to be $< 0.76\ \mathrm{ps}^{-1}$ (equivalent to $τ_{\rm mix} > 1.3$~ps). △ Less

To assess the behavior of the anisotropic fluid and stability of the compact star, we use the observed values of mass and radius for the compact star model $PSR J0437-4715$. The graphical analysis depicts that the stellar structure possesses physical viability and exhibits intriguing properties. Furthermore, we predicted the mass-radius relation along with the maximum mass limit of several objects for different parameter values by assuming two different surface densities. Abstract: Using the full data sample of 980 $\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider, we report the results of the first search for the rare semileptonic decays $Ξ_c^0 \to Ξ^0\ell^+\ell^-$ ($\ell=e$ or $μ)$. No significant signals are observed in the $Ξ^0\ell^+\ell^-$ invariant-mass distributions. We use the inclusive properties of the accompanying $B$ meson in $Υ(4S) \to B\kern 0.18em\overline{\kern -0.18em B}{}$ events to suppress background from other decays of the signal $B$ candidate and light-quark pair production. We validate the measurement with an auxiliary analysis based on a conventional hadronic reconstruction of the accompanying $B$ meson. For background suppression, we exploit distinct signal features using machine learning methods tuned with simulated data. The signal-reconstruction efficiency and background suppression are validated through various control channels. The branching fraction is extracted in a maximum likelihood fit. Our inclusive and hadronic analyses yield consistent results for the $B^{+}\rightarrow K^{+}ν\barν$ branching fraction of $\left[2.7\pm 0.5(\mathrm{stat})\pm 0.5(\mathrm{syst})\right] \times 10^{-5}$ and $\left[1.1^{+0.9}_{-0.8}(\mathrm{stat}){}^{+0.8}_{-0.5}(\mathrm{syst})\right] \times 10^{-5}$, respectively. Combining the results, we determine the branching fraction of the decay $B^{+}\rightarrow K^{+}ν\barν$ to be $\left[2.3 \pm 0.5(\mathrm{stat})^{+0.5}_{-0.4}(\mathrm{syst})\right]\times 10^{-5}$, providing the first evidence for this decay at $3.5$ standard deviations. The ratio is measured via a two-dimensional fit… ▽ More We present a measurement of the ratio of partial branching fractions of the semi-leptonic inclusive decays, $\overline{B} \to X_{u} \ell \overlineν$ to $\overline{B} \to X_{c} \ell \overlineν$, where $\ell = (e, μ)$, using the full Belle sample of $772 \times 10^{6}$ $B \kern 0.18em\overline{\kern -0.18em B}$ pairs collected at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance. The ratio is measured via a two-dimensional fit to the squared four-momentum transfer to the lepton pair, and the charged lepton energy in the $B$ meson rest frame, where the latter must be larger than $1$ Ge\kern -0.1em V, covering approximately $86\%$ and $78\%$ of the $\overline{B} \to X_{u} \ell \overlineν$ and $\overline{B} \to X_{c} \ell \overlineν$ phase space, respectively. We find $Δ\mathcal{B}(\overline{B} \to X_{u} \ell \overlineν)/ Δ\mathcal{B}(\overline{B} \to X_{c} \ell \overlineν) = 0.0196(1 \pm 8.4\%_{\rm stat} \pm 7.9\%_{\rm syst})$ where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. In addition, we report the partial branching fractions separately for charged and neutral $B$ meson decays, and for electron and muon decay channels. We place a limit on isospin breaking in $\overline{B} \to X_{u} \ell \overlineν$ decays, and find no indication of lepton flavor universality violation in either the charmed or charmless mode. Furthermore, we unfold the $\overline{B} \to X_{u} \ell \overlineν$ and $\overline{B} \to X_{c} \ell \overlineν$ yields and report the differential ratio in lepton energy and four-momentum transfer squared. △ Less

The results allow us to extract the form factors describing the $B \to D^*$ transition and the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{\rm cb}|$. Partial decay rates are reported as functions of the recoil parameter $w$ and three decay angles separately for electron and muon final states.… ▽ More We determine the CKM matrix-element magnitude $|V_{cb}|$ using $\overline{B}^0\to D^{*+}\ell^-\barν_\ell$ decays reconstructed in $189 \, \mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of collision data collected by the Belle II experiment, located at the SuperKEKB $e^+e^-$ collider. Partial decay rates are reported as functions of the recoil parameter $w$ and three decay angles separately for electron and muon final states. We obtain $|V_{cb}|$ using the Boyd-Grinstein-Lebed and Caprini-Lellouch-Neubert parametrizations, and find $|V_{cb}|_\mathrm{BGL}=(40.57\pm 0.31 \pm 0.95\pm 0.58)\times 10^{-3}$ and $|V_{cb}|_\mathrm{CLN}=(40.13 \pm 0.27 \pm 0.93\pm 0.58 )\times 10^{-3}$ with the uncertainties denoting statistical components, systematic components, and components from the lattice QCD input, respectively. The branching fraction is measured to be ${\cal B}(\overline{B}^0\to D^{*+}\ell^-\barν_\ell)=(4.922 \pm 0.023 \pm 0.220)\%$. The ratio of branching fractions for electron and muon final states is found to be $0.998 \pm 0.009 \pm 0.020$. In addition, we determine the forward-backward angular asymmetry and the $D^{*+}$ longitudinal polarization fractions. All results are compatible with lepton-flavor universality in the Standard Model. △ Less

Influence of three parameters on maximum mass and stability of strange star under linear $f(Q)-$action

By employing the Tolman ansatz and the MIT bag model equation of state (EOS), we explore bounded star configurations derived from the $θ_0^0 = ρ$ and $θ_1^1 = p_r$ sectors within the CGD formalism. Our models are subjected to physical viability tests, and we analyze the impact of anisotropy and the electric charge parameter $E_0$ as well as the coupling parameters $α$ and $β_1$. Comparisons are made with observational constraints, including GW190814, neutron stars PSR J1614-2230, PSR J1903+6620, Cen X-3 and LMC X-4. Notably, we achieve the presence of a lower "\textit{mass gap}" component by adjusting parameters $α$ and $β_1$. Our models exhibit well-behaved mass profiles, internal regularity, and stability, with the absence of gravitational collapse verified through the Buchdahl--Andréasson's limit. In addition, we present a detailed physical analysis based on three parameters, $α$ (decoupling strength), $β_1$ ($f(Q)$--coupling) and $Q$ (surface charge). This study provides insights into the behavior of compact objects in $f(Q)$ gravity and expands our understanding of strange star configurations within this framework. △ Less

We impose a quadratic equation of state (EOS) for the interior matter distribution which in the appropriate limit reduces to the MIT bag model. The governing field equations arising from gravitational decoupling bifurcates into the $ρ=θ^0_0$ and $p_r=θ^1_1$ sectors leading to two distinct classes of solutions. Both families of solutions are subjected to rigorous tests qualifying them to describe a plethora of compact objects including neutron stars, strange stars and the possible progenitor of the secondary component of GW190814. Using observational data of mass-radius relations for compact objects LMC X-4, Cen X-3, PSR J1614-2230 and PSR J0740+6620 we show that it is possible to generate stellar masses and radii beyond 2.0 $ M_{\odot}$ for neutron stars. Our findings reveal that the most { suitable and versatile model in this framework is the quadratic EOS}, which accounts for a range of low mass stars as well as typical stellar candidates describing the secondary component of GW190814. △ Less

We measure the products of branching fractions ${\cal B}(Υ(2S) \to D_{s}^{(*)+} D_{sJ}^-) {\cal B}(D_{sJ}^-\to \bar{K} \bar{D}^{(*)})$ and the Born cross sections $σ^{\rm Born}(e^+e^- \to D_{s}^{(*)+} D_{sJ}^-) {\cal B}(D_{sJ}^-\to \bar{K} \bar{D}^{(*)})$, and then compare the ratios $R_1 \equiv {\cal B}(Υ(2S)\to D_{s}^{(*)+} D_{sJ}^-)/{\cal B}(Υ(2S)\toμ^{+}μ^-)$ for $Υ(2S)$ decays and $R_2 \equiv σ^{\rm Born}(e^+e^-\to D_{s}^{(*)+}D_{sJ}^-)/σ^{\rm Born}(e^+e^-\to μ^{+}μ^-)$ for continuum production. We obtain $R_1/R_2 = 9.7\pm 2.3 \pm 1.1$, $6.8 \pm 2.1 \pm 0.8$, $10.2 \pm 3.3 \pm 2.5$, and $3.4 \pm 2.1 \pm 0.5$ for the $D_s^+ D_{s1}(2536)^-$, $D_s^{*+} D_{s1}(2536)^-$, $D_s^+ D_{s2}^{*}(2573)^{-}$, and $D_s^{*+} D_{s2}^{*}(2573)^{-}$ final states in the $D_{sJ}^-\to K^{-} \bar{D}^{(*)0}$ modes, respectively. Therefore, the strong decay is expected to dominate in the $Υ(2S)\to D_{s}^{(*)+}D_{sJ}^-$ processes. We also measure the ratios of branching fractions ${\cal B}(D_{s1}(2536)^-\to K_S^0 D^{*}(2010)^{-})/{\cal B}(D_{s1}(2536)^-\to K^{-} D^{*}(2007)^0) = 0.48 \pm 0.07 \pm 0.02$ and ${\cal B}(D_{s2}^{*}(2573)^- \to K_S^0 D^-)/{\cal B}(D_{s2}^{*}(2573)^- \to K^{-}D^0) = 0.49 \pm 0.10 \pm 0.02$, which are consistent with isospin symmetry. The second ratio is the first measurement of this quantity. Here, the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. △ Less
