In this paper, a novel full-duplex non-coherent (FD-NC) transmission scheme is developed for massive multiple-input multiple-output (mMIMO) systems using analog beamforming (ABF). We propose to use a structured Grassmannian constellation for the non-coherent communications that does not require channel estimation. Then, we design the transmit and receive ABF via the slow time-varying angle-of-departure (AoD) and angle-of-arrival (AoA) information, respectively. The ABF design targets maximizing the intended signal power while suppressing the strong self-interference (SI) occurred in the FD transmission. Also, the proposed ABF technique only needs a single transmit and receive RF chain to support large antenna arrays, thus, it reduces hardware cost/complexity in the mMIMO systems. It is shown that the proposed FD-NC offers a great improvement in bit error rate (BER) in comparison to both half-duplex non-coherent (HD-NC) and HD coherent schemes. We also observe that the proposed FD-NC both reduces the error floor resulted from the residual SI in FD transmission, and provides lower BER compared to the FD coherent transmission.

Abstract:
We introduce a new class of Poisson-exponential-Tweedie (PET) mixture in the framework of generalized linear models for ultra-overdispersed count data. The mean-variance relationship is of the form $m+m^{2}+φm^{p}$, where $φ$ and $p$ are the dispersion and Tweedie power parameters, respectively. The proposed model is equivalent to the exponential-Poisson-Tweedie models arising from geometric sums…

The proposed model is equivalent to the exponential-Poisson-Tweedie models arising from geometric sums of Poisson-Tweedie random variables. In this respect, the PET models encompass the geometric versions of Hermite, Neyman Type A, Pólya-Aeppli, negative binomial and Poisson inverse Gaussian models. The algorithms we shall propose allow us to estimate the real power parameter, which works as an automatic distribution selection. Instead of the classical Poisson, zero-shifted geometric is presented as the reference count distribution. Practical properties are incorporated into the PET of new relative indexes of dispersion and zero-inflation phenomena. Simulation studies demonstrate that the proposed model highlights unbiased and consistent estimators for large samples. Illustrative practical applications are analyzed on count datasets; in particular, PET models for data without covariates and PET regression models. The PET models are compared to Poisson-Tweedie models showing that parameters of both models are adopted to data.

Abstract:
In the peripheral nervous system, utrophin and the short dystrophin isoform (Dp116) are co-localized at the outermost layer of the myelin sheath of nerve fibers; together with the dystroglycan complex. In peripheral nerve, matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) creates a 30 kDa fragment of beta-dystroglycan, leading to a disruption of the link between the extracellular matrix and the cell membrane. Here…

Here we asked if the processing of the beta-dystroglycan could influence the anchorage of Dp116 or/and utrophin in normal and mdx Schwann cell membrane. We showed that MMP-9 was more activated in mdx nerve than in wild-type one. This activation leads to an accumulation of the 30 kDa beta-dystroglycan isoform and have an impact on the anchorage of Dp116 and utrophin isoforms in mdx Schwann cells membrane. Our results showed that Dp116 had greater affinity to the full length form of beta-dystroglycan than the 30 kDa form. Moreover, we showed for the first time that the short isoform of utrophin (Up71) was over-expressed in mdx Schwann cells compared to wild-type. In addition, this utrophin isoform (Up71) seems to have greater affinity to the 30 kDa beta-dystroglycan which could explain a more stabilization of this 30 kDa at the membrane compartment. Our results highlight the potential participation of the short utrophin isoform and the cleaved form of beta-dystroglycan in mdx Schwann cell membrane architecture.
