Stochastic Quantization and AdS/CFT
Abstract: We argue that there is a relationship between stochastic quantization and AdS/CFT, and we present an explicit calculation to support our claim. In particular, we show that a conformally coupled scalar with phi4 interaction on AdS4 is related, via stochastic quantization as well as via AdS/CFT, to a massless scalar with phi6 interaction in 3d. We show that our results have an underlying geometric… ▽ More

Gravity in the 3+1-Split Formalism II: Self-Duality and the Emergence of the Gravitational Chern-Simons in the Boundary
Abstract: We study self-duality in the context of the 3+1-split formalism of gravity with non-zero cosmological constant. Lorentzian self-dual configurations are conformally flat spacetimes and have boundary data determined by classical solutions of the three-dimensional gravitational Chern-Simons. For Euclidean self-dual configurations, the relationship between their boundary initial positions and initia… ▽ More

Gravity in the 3+1-Split Formalism I: Holography as an Initial Value Problem
Abstract: We present a detailed analysis of the 3+1-split formalism of gravity in the presence of a cosmological constant. The formalism helps revealing the intimate connection between holography and the initial value formulation of gravity. We show that the various methods of holographic subtraction of divergences correspond just to different transformations of the canonical variables, such that the init… ▽ More

All timelike supersymmetric solutions of N=2, D=4 gauged supergravity coupled to abelian vector multiplets
Abstract: The timelike supersymmetric solutions of N=2, D=4 gauged supergravity coupled to an arbitrary number of abelian vector multiplets are classified using spinorial geometry techniques. We show that the generalized holonomy group for vacua preserving N supersymmetries is GL((8-N)/2,C) $\ltimes$ N/2 C^((8-N)/2) $\subseteq$ GL(8,R), where N=0,2,4,6,8. The spacetime turns out to be a fibration over a t… ▽ More

Geometry of four-dimensional Killing spinors
Abstract: The supersymmetric solutions of N=2, D=4 minimal ungauged and gauged supergravity are classified according to the fraction of preserved supersymmetry using spinorial geometry techniques. Subject to a reasonable assumption in the 1/2-supersymmetric time-like case of the gauged theory, we derive the complete form of all supersymmetric solutions. This includes a number of new 1/4- and 1/2-supersymm… ▽ More

Chern-Simons formulation of three-dimensional gravity with torsion and nonmetricity
Abstract: We consider various models of three-dimensional gravity with torsion or nonmetricity (metric affine gravity), and show that they can be written as Chern-Simons theories with suitable gauge groups. Using the groups ISO(2,1), SL(2,C) or SL(2,R) x SL(2,R), and the fact that they admit two independent coupling constants, we obtain the Mielke-Baekler model for zero, positive or negative effective cos… ▽ More

More on BPS solutions of N=2, D=4 gauged supergravity
Abstract: We deepen and refine the classification of supersymmetric solutions to N=2, D=4 gauged supergravity obtained in a previous paper. In the case where the Killing vector constructed from the Killing spinor is timelike, it is shown that the nonlinear partial differential equations determining the BPS solutions can be derived from a variational principle. The corresponding action enjoys a solution-ge… ▽ More
