The Spin Physics Detector collaboration proposes to install a universal detector in the second interaction point of the NICA collider under construction (JINR, Dubna) to study the spin structure of the proton and deuteron and other spin-related phenomena using a unique possibility to operate with polarized proton and deuteron beams at a collision energy up to 27 GeV and a luminosity up to $10^{32}$ cm$^{-2}$ s$^{-1}$. As the main goal, the experiment aims to provide access to the gluon TMD PDFs in the proton and deuteron, as well as the gluon transversity distribution and tensor PDFs in the deuteron, via the measurement of specific single and double spin asymmetries using different complementary probes such as charmonia, open charm, and prompt photon production processes. Other polarized and unpolarized physics is possible, especially at the first stage of NICA operation with reduced luminosity and collision energy of the proton and ion beams. This document is dedicated exclusively to technical issues of the SPD setup construction.

Despite this, there is currently no general solution to the Schrödinger equation for such a system. This is especially relevant for quantum entanglement of such a system in quantum optics applications. Here this problem is solved and it is shown that quantum entanglement depends on only one coefficient $R \in (0,1)$, which includes all the parameters of the system under consideration. It has been shown that quantum entanglement can be very large at certain values of this coefficient. The results obtained have a fairly simple analytical form, which facilitates analysis.

We address amorphization of montmorillonite crystal structure. Powdered montmorillonite samples with an effective particle diameter 630 micrometers were treated by a microwave field with frequency 2,45 GHz and power 750 W for ten minutes in different environments. The first sample was treated in an air environment, the second one in a humid environment. The third sample was a ceramic mass with 10 percent concentration of mixing water (with respect to the total mass). The model describing amorphization is based on results of X-ray analysis. Activation energies were evaluated for covalent and ionic bounds of oxygen ions, hydroxyl groups, and silicon (aluminum) ions. It is shown that the amorphization is carried out in four stages. In fractions of the energy consumption of the last stage the first one consumes 7-9 percent, the second one takes 13-15 percent, and the third one takes 49-59 percent.

The theory of the beam splitter (BS) in quantum optics is well developed and based on fairly simple mathematical and physical foundations. This theory has been developed for any type of BS and is based on the constancy of the reflection coefficients $R$ (or the transmission coefficient, where $R+T=1$) and the phase shift $φ$. It has recently been shown that the constancy of these coefficients cannot always be satisfied for a waveguide BS, where $R$ and $φ$ depend in a special way on photon frequencies. Based on this, this review systematizes the concept of BS in quantum optics into ``Conventional'' and frequency-dependent BS, and also presents the theory of such BS. It is shown that the quantum entanglement, photon statistics at the output ports, and the Hong-Ou-Mandel (HOM) effect for such BS can be very different. Taking into account the fact that the waveguide BS is currently acquiring an important role in quantum technologies due to the possibility of its miniaturization, this review will be useful not only for theoreticians, but also for experimenters.

We consider the statistical fields generated by background charge modification of the Gaussian free field with Dirichlet boundary condition under the OPE multiplications. We describe the Loewner chains of the real locus of a class of real rational functions whose critical points are on the real line. Our main result is that the poles of the rational function lead to explicit formulas for the dynamical system that governs the driving functions. Our formulas give a simple method for map** the class of rational functions into solutions to a non-trivial system of quadratic equations, and for directly showing that the curves in the real locus satisfy geometric commutation and have the geodesic multichord property. These results are entirely self-contained and have no reliance on probabilistic objects, but make use of an integral of motion for the Loewner chain that is motivated by ideas from conformal field theory. We also show that the dynamics of the driving functions are a special case of the Calogero-Moser integrable system, restricted to a particular submanifold of phase space carved out by the Lax matrix. Our approach complements a recent result of Peltola and Wang, who showed that the real locus is the deterministic kappa to 0 limit of the multiple SLE(kappa) curves.

Hong-Ou-Mandel (HOM) effect is known to be one of the main phenomena in quantum optics. The effect occurs when two identical single-photon waves enter a 1:1 beam splitter, one in each input port. When the photons are identical, they will extinguish each other. One of the main elements of the HOM interferometer is the beam splitter, which has its own coefficients of reflection $R = 1/2$ and transmission $ T = 1/2 $. In this work, the general mechanism of the interaction of two photons in a beam splitter is considered using an analytical solution, which shows that in the HOM theory of the effect it is necessary to know (including when planning the experiment) not only $ R = 1/2 $ and $ T = 1/2 $, but also their root-mean-square fluctuations $ ΔR ^ 2, ΔT ^ 2 $, which arise due to the dependence of $R = R(ω_1, ω_2) $ and $ T = T (ω_1, ω_2) $ on the frequencies where $ω_1, ω_2$ are the frequencies of the first and second photons, respectively. Under certain conditions, specifically when the dependence of the fluctuations $ ΔR^2 $ and $ ΔT^2 $ can be neglected and $ R=T=1/2 $ is chosen, the developed theory coincides with previously known results.

We introduce a bi-angled tree associated to any such $f$. It is proven that any bi-angled tree is realizable by such an $f$, and moreover, $f$ is essentially uniquely determined by its associated bi-angled tree. This combinatorial classification is used to show that such $f$ are in natural 1:1 correspondence with anti-holomorphic polynomials of degree $d$ with $d-1$ distinct, fixed critical points (classified by their Hubbard trees).

In this paper, we continue exploration of the dynamical and parameter planes of one-parameter families of Schwarz reflections that was initiated in \cite{LLMM1,LLMM2}. Namely, we consider a family of quadrature domains obtained by restricting the Chebyshev cubic polynomial to various univalent discs. Then we perform a quasiconformal surgery that turns these reflections to parabolic rational maps (which is the crucial technical ingredient of our theory). It induces a straightening map between the parameter plane of Schwarz reflections and the parabolic Tricorn. We describe various properties of this straightening highlighting the issues related to its anti-holomorphic nature. We complete the discussion by comparing our family with the classical Bullett-Penrose family of matings between groups and rational maps induced by holomorphic correspondences. More precisely, we show that the Schwarz reflections give rise to anti-holomorphic correspondences that are matings of parabolic anti-rational maps with the abstract modular group. We further illustrate our mating framework by studying the correspondence associated with the Schwarz reflection map of a deltoid.

We prove that there is a natural combinatorial bijection between the geometrically finite maps of this family and those of the basilica limb of the Tricorn, which is the connectedness locus of quadratic anti-holomorphic polynomials. We also show that every geometrically finite map in $\mathcal{S}$ arises as a conformal mating of a unique geometrically finite quadratic anti-holomorphic polynomial and a reflection map arising from the ideal triangle group. We then follow up with a combinatorial mating description for the periodically repelling maps in $\mathcal{S}$. Obviously, if you choose a charged micro or nano resonator, the interaction will be different. In this paper, this case is considered and it is shown that cooling will be as effective as in the sideband method. Although this paper is a theoretical study, it offers practical application, in heavy-ion accelerators, of the new effect of collision multiplicity with high-energy ions interacting with polyatomic targets. It is shown that internal nanostructured targets in which the collision multiplicity effect is manifested can more efficiently strip out structural ions compared to standard internal targets for strip**. A target consisting of oriented nano-tubes with the $C_{240}$ chirality (10,0) is considered as an example. It was found that if the impedances characterizing the scattering part are different from those describing the leads, a new effect of double-sided unidirectional reflectivity emerges. In this case the vanishing of reflectivity occurs either for the left or right reflectivity, depending on the frequency of scattering wave. It is shown that the alternation of the unidirectional reflectivity from the left to the right can occur even if the corresponding Hamiltonian is non-PT-symmetric. At present, the sources of entangled photons have a low rate of photon generation. This limitation is a key component of quantum informatics for the realization of such functions as linear quantum computation and quantum teleportation. In this paper, we propose a method for high intensity generation of entangled photons in a two-mode electromagnetic field. On the basis of exact solutions of the Schr{ö}dinger equation, in the conditions of interaction of the electrons in an atom with a strong two-mode electromagnetic field, it is shown that there may be large quantum entanglement between photons. The quantum entanglement is analyzed on the basis of the Schmidt parameter. It is shown that the Schmidt parameter can reach very high values depending on the choice of characteristics of the two-mode fields. We find the Wigner function for the considered case. Violation of Bell's inequalities for continuous variables is demonstrated.

The article gives a brief overview of the current state of programming language Dino in order to see where its stands between other dynamic programming languages. Then it describes the current implementation, used tools and major implementation decisions including how to implement a stable, portable and simple JIT compiler.
We study the effect of major implementation decisions on the performance of Dino on x86-64, AARCH64, and Powerpc64. In brief, the performance of some model benchmark on x86-64 was improved by $\textbf{3.1}$ times after moving from a stack based virtual machine to a register-transfer architecture, a further $\textbf{1.5}$ times by adding byte code combining, a further $\textbf{2.3}$ times through the use of JIT, and a further $\textbf{4.4}$ times by performing type inference with byte code specialization, with a resulting overall performance improvement of about $\textbf{47}$ times. To put these results in context, we include performance comparisons of Dino with widely used implementations of Ruby, Python 3, PyPy and JavaScript on the three platforms mentioned above.
The goal of this article is to share the experience of Dino implementation with other dynamic language implementors in hope that it can help them to improve implementation of popular dynamic languages to make them probably faster and more portable, using less developer resources, and may be to avoid some mistakes and wrong directions which were experienced during Dino development.

We study transport properties of an array created by alternating $(a,b)$ layers with balanced loss/gain characterized by the key parameter $γ$. It is shown that for non-equal widths of $(a,b)$ layers, i.e., when the corresponding Hamiltonian is non-PT-symmetric, the system exhibits the scattering properties similar to those of truly PT-symmetric models provided that without loss/gain the structure presents the matched quarter stack. The inclusion of the loss/gain terms leads to an emergence of a finite number of spectral bands characterized by real values of the Bloch index. Each spectral band consists of a central region where the transmission coefficient $T_N \geq 1$, and two side regions with $T_N \leq 1$. At the borders between these regions the unidirectional reflectivity occurs. Also, the set of Fabry-Perrot resonances with $T_N=1$ are found in spite of the presence of loss/gain.

We propose a new efficient iterative method for generating random correlated binary sequences with prescribed correlation function. The method is based on consecutive linear modulations of initially uncorrelated sequence into a correlated one. Each step of modulation increases the correlations until the desired level has been reached. Robustness and efficiency for the proposed algorithm are tested by generating sequences with inverse power-law correlations. The substantial increase in the strength of correlation in the iterative method with respect to the single-step filtering generation is shown for all studied correlation functions. Our results can be used for design of disordered superlattices, waveguides, and surfaces with selective transport properties.

We study coherent wave scattering through waveguides with a step-like surface disorder and find distinct enhancements in the reflection coefficients at well-defined resonance values. Based on detailed numerical and analytical calculations, we can unambiguously identify the origin of these reflection resonances to be higher-order correlations in the surface disorder profile which are typically neglected in similar studies of the same system. A remarkable feature of this new effect is that it relies on the longitudinal correlations in the step profile, although individual step heights are random and thus completely uncorrelated. The corresponding resonances are very pronounced and robust with respect to ensemble averaging, and lead to an enhancement of wave reflection by more than one order of magnitude.

We study localization properties of the eigenstates and wave transport in one-dimensional system consisting of a set of barriers/wells of fixed thickness and random heights. The inherent peculiarity of the system resulting in the enhanced Anderson localization, is the presence of the resonances emerging due to the coherent interaction of the waves reflected from the interfaces between wells/barriers. Our theoretical approach allows to derive the localization length in infinite samples both out of the resonances and close to them. We examine how the transport properties of finite samples can be described in terms of this length. It is shown that the analytical expressions obtained by standard methods for continuous random potentials can be used in our discrete model, in spite of the presence of resonances that cannot be described by conventional theories. We also discuss whether the single parameter scaling is valid in view of the suggested modification of the theory. All our results are illustrated with numerical data manifesting an excellent agreement with the theory.

We study the problem of non-conventional Anderson localization emerging in bilayer periodic-on-average structures with alternating layers of materials with positive and negative refraction indices $n_a$ and $n_b$. Main attention is paid to the model of the so-called quarter stack with perfectly matched layers (the same unperturbed by disorder impedances, $Z_a=Z_b$, and optical path lengths, $n_ad_a=|n_b| d_b$, with $d_a$, $d_b$ being the thicknesses of basic layers). As was recently numerically discovered, in such structures with weak fluctuations of refractive indices (compositional disorder) the localization length $L_{loc}$ is enormously large in comparison with the conventional localization occurring in the structures with positive refraction indices only. In this paper we develop a new approach which allows us to derive the expression for $L_{loc}$ for weak disorder and any wave frequency $ω$. In the limit $ω\rightarrow 0$ one gets a quite specific dependence, $L^{-1}_{loc}\proptoσ^4ω^8$ which is obtained within the fourth order of perturbation theory. We also analyze the interplay between two types of disorder, when in addition to the fluctuations of $n_a$, $n_b$ the thicknesses $d_a$, $d_b$ slightly fluctuate as well (positional disorder). We show how the conventional localization recovers with an addition of positional disorder.

We consider a special family of occupation-time derivatives, namely proportional step options introduced by Linetsky in [Math. Finance, 9, 55--96 (1999)]. We develop new closed-form spectral expansions for pricing such options under a class of nonlinear volatility diffusion processes which includes the constant-elasticity-of-variance (CEV) model as an example. In particular, we derive a general analytically exact expression for the resolvent kernel (i.e. Green's function) of such processes with killing at an exponential stop** time (independent of the process) of occupation above or below a fixed level. Moreover, we succeed in Laplace inverting the resolvent kernel and thereby derive newly closed-form spectral expansion formulae for the transition probability density of such processes with killing. The spectral expansion formulae are rapidly convergent and easy-to-implement as they are based simply on knowledge of a pair of fundamental solutions for an underlying solvable diffusion process. We apply the spectral expansion formulae to the pricing of proportional step options for four specific families of solvable nonlinear diffusion asset price models that include the CEV diffusion model and three other multi-parameter state-dependent local volatility confluent hypergeometric diffusion processes.

The electromagnetic field is transferred from the irradiated side of a slab of layered superconductor to the other one by excited waveguide modes (WGMs) which do not decay deep into the slab, contrary to metals, where the enhanced light transmission is caused by the excitation of the evanescent surface waves. We show that a series of resonance peaks (with $T \sim 1$) can be observed in the dependence of the transmittance $T$ on the varying incidence angle $θ$, when the dispersion curve of the diffracted wave crosses successive dispersion curves for the WGMs.

The boundaries of waveguides and nanowires have drastic influence on their coherent scattering properties. Designing the boundary profile is thus a promising approach for transmission and band-gap engineering with many applications. By performing an experimental study of microwave transmission through rough waveguides we demonstrate that a recently proposed surface scattering theory can be employed to predict the measured transmission properties from the boundary profiles and vice versa. A new key ingredient of this theory is a scattering mechanism which depends on the squared gradient of the surface profiles. We demonstrate the non-trivial effects of this scattering mechanism by detailed mode-resolved microwave measurements and numerical simulations.

In this paper we present a new multi-asset pricing model, which is built upon newly developed families of solvable multi-parameter single-asset diffusions with a nonlinear smile-shaped volatility and an affine drift. Our multi-asset pricing model arises by employing copula methods. In particular, all discounted single-asset price processes are modeled as martingale diffusions under a risk-neutral measure. The price processes are so-called UOU diffusions and they are each generated by combining a variable (Ito) transformation with a measure change performed on an underlying Ornstein-Uhlenbeck (Gaussian) process. Consequently, we exploit the use of a normal bridge copula for coupling the single-asset dynamics while reducing the distribution of the multi-asset price process to a multivariate normal distribution. Such an approach allows us to simulate multidimensional price paths in a precise and fast manner and hence to price path-dependent financial derivatives such as Asian-style and Bermudan options using the Monte Carlo method. We also demonstrate how to successfully calibrate our multi-asset pricing model by fitting respective equity option and asset market prices to the single-asset models and their return correlations (i.e. the copula function) using the least-square and maximum-likelihood estimation methods.

The following models are analyzed: the models with continuous potentials, the tight-binding models of the Anderson type, and various Kronig-Penney models with different types of perturbations. Main attention is payed to the methods of obtaining the localization length in dependence on the controlling parameters of the models. Specific interest is in an emergence of effective mobility edges due to certain long-range correlations in a disorder. The predictions of the theoretical and numerical analysis are compared to recent experiments on microwave transmission through randomly filled waveguides.

It is known that, to a first approximation, the eigenvalues obey a certain equilibrium distribution, given by Frostman's solution to the minimum energy problem of weighted logarithmic potential theory. This paper presents an analytical study of the coexistence of different transport regimes in quasi-one-dimensional surface-disordered waveguides (or electron conductors). To elucidate main features of surface scattering, the case of two open modes (channels) is considered in great detail. Main attention is paid to the transmission in dependence on various parameters of the model with two types of rough-surface profiles (symmetric and antisymmetric). It is shown that depending on the symmetry, basic mechanisms of scattering can be either enhanced or suppressed. As a consequence, different transport regimes can be realized. Specifically, in the waveguide with symmetric rough boundaries, there are ballistic, localized and coexistence transport regimes. In the waveguide with antisymmetric roughness of lateral walls, another regime of the diffusive transport can arise. Our study allows to reveal the role of the so-called square-gradient scattering which is typically neglected in literature, however, can give a strong impact to the transmission.

A microwave setup for mode-resolved transport measurement in quasi-one-dimensional (quasi-1D) structures is presented. We will demonstrate a technique for direct measurement of the Green's function of the system. With its help we will investigate quasi-1D structures with various types of disorder. We will focus on stratified structures, i.e., structures that are homogeneous perpendicular to the direction of wave propagation. In this case the interaction between different channels is absent, so wave propagation occurs individually in each open channel. We will apply analytical results developed in the theory of one-dimensional (1D) disordered models in order to explain main features of the quasi-1D transport. The main focus will be selective transport due to long-range correlations in the disorder. In our setup, we can intentionally introduce correlations by changing the positions of periodically spaced brass bars of finite thickness. Because of the equivalence of the stationary Schrödinger equation and the Helmholtz equation, the result can be directly applied to selective electron transport in nanowires, nanostripes, and superlattices.

All these diffusions are broadly used in mathematical finance for modelling asset prices, market indices, and interest rates. We show how the probability distributions of a squared Bessel bridge and a squared Bessel process with or without absorption at zero are reduced to randomized gamma distributions. Moreover, for absorbing stochastic processes, we develop a new bridge sampling technique based on conditioning on the first hitting time at zero. Such an approach allows us to simplify simulation schemes. New methods are illustrated with pricing path-dependent options.

We present new extensions to a method for constructing several families of solvable one-dimensional time-homogeneous diffusions whose transition densities are obtainable in analytically closed-form. Our approach is based on a dual application of the so-called diffusion canonical transformation method that combines smooth monotonic map**s and measure changes via Doob-h transforms. This gives rise to new multi-parameter solvable diffusions that are generally divided into two main classes; the first is specified by having affine (linear) drift with various resulting nonlinear diffusion coefficient functions, while the second class allows for several specifications of a (generally nonlinear) diffusion coefficient with resulting nonlinear drift function. The theory is applicable to diffusions with either singular and/or non-singular endpoints. As part of the results in this paper, we also present a complete boundary classification and martingale characterization of the newly developed diffusion families.
